Irene Bell Harrison
Prague resident Irene Bell Harrison, 90, died Sunday in Shawnee.

She was the daughter of John A. and Ella May (Teters) Buchner, and was born on July 9, 1912, in Yeager.

She had been a resident of Prague since 1979 and had also lived in Wewoka and Del City.

She was a homemaker and had been a member of Deer Creek Baptist Church for 30 years.

She married Jack J. Whitehead in 1928. He preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 1966. In 1972, she married Edgel Stanton Harrison, who died on April 4, 1990.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, J.W. "Jim" Whitehead and Tommy Lee Whitehead; five brothers, two sisters, grandson, Harold Jay Whitehead, and one son-in-law, B.C. Quary.

Survivors include daughter Helen Marie Quary, Prague; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Nancy and Ronald Kerr, Prague; Terry Glen Quary, Chandler, Ariz.; Karen and Larry Alice, Seminole; Randy Whitehead, Midwest City; Benny and Marsha Whitehead, Waco, Texas; Wayne and Judy Conklin, Pound, Wis.; Sharon Conklin, Baltimore, Md.; one stepdaughter-in-law, Helen Conklin, Alendo, Calif.; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Prague with the Rev. Mark Sims officiating. Burial will follow at the Prague Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.

Ralph Montgomery
Ralph E. Montgomery, 87, died Thursday in Tulsa. Services are pending with Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Prague.

Harvey J.L. Curtis
Harvey J.L. Curtis, 78, of Macomb died Thursday at a Shawnee hospital.

Surviving are: friend, Morene Lowden of Tecumseh; three sons, Michael Curtis of Rio Linda, Calif., Robert Dale Curtis of North Sacramento, Calif., and Richard Keith Curtis of California; a daughter, Vickie Denise MacVicar of Carmichael, Calif.; three sisters, Lola Fronczak of Turlock, Calif., Evelyn Clevenger of Roseville, Calif., and Nadine Haley of Madera, Calif.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many cousins and friends in Tecumseh.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today, noon to 6 p.m. and Saturday and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Maud with the Rev. Larry Sparks officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home of Maud.

Lowell Phillip Thomas
Lahoma resident Lowell Phillip Thomas, 79, died Wednesday in Lahoma.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Thomas, Lahoma; three daughters, Phillis Duncan, Chandler, Lisa Martindale, Chandler, Jonnie Swinea, Lahoma; sons, Robert Thomas, Kansas City, Kan., and Lowell Thomas Jr., Stillwater; one brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Connie Thomas of Midland, Texas; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends for viewing and visitation 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.. Saturday at the Parks Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of the Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Chandler.

Lloyd T. Campbell
Shawnee resident Lloyd T. Campbell, 87, died Thursday at a local hospital.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Episcopal Church with the Rev. Arthur Scrutchins officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Campbell was born Dec. 5, 1915, to John and Vannie Campbell in Welborn, Ark. He was reared in Mounds, Okla.

He married Paraylee Smith in Shawnee on Sept. 15, 1940.

Campbell was owner and operator of Rock Island Key and Lock Shop since 1946. He was a resident of Shawnee since 1940 and a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Ronnie Campbell; brother, Doyle B. Campbell; and sister, Jeannie Hopper.

Survivors include his wife of the home; son, Ronnie Campbell, Shawnee; three grandchildren and their spouses, Floyd and Toni Smith, Shawnee; Brandy McDonnell, Shawnee; and Seth and Cassie McDonnell, Fort Hood, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Floyd Smith III and Holly Smith, Shawnee; and Renne Kelly, Shawnee; brother and sister-in-law, Ezra and Barbara Campbell of Bethany; sisters, Opal Porter of Oklahoma City and Susan Clawson of Camphill, Pa., LaDean Duran of Galveston, Texas, and Patti Gibson, Crystal Beach, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

Mark Ross
Mark Ross, 43, of Harrah died Wednesday.

Survivors include his wife, Holly Green Ross; two step-sons, Vaughn and Nick Schreck of Canute; his parents, Don and Barbara Ross of Harrah; his paternal grandmother, Eula Ross of McLoud; one sister, Kelly Trice of Harrah; one brother and sister-in-law Todd and Pam Ross of Mustang; niece, Kendra Trice of Harrah; nephews, Josh and Caleb Ross of Mustang; and aunt, Mary Hornbeck, Harrah.

A rosary and wake service will be 6:45 p.m. today. The Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday. Both services will be held at St. Teresa Catholic Church of Harrah with burial at St. Teresa Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Smith-Parks Funeral Service of Harrah.

Ethel Ada Rains
Ethel Ada Rains, 98, Shawnee, died Thursday at her home.

She was born Nov. 26, 1904, in Hoxey, Ark., to John and Mary Ella (Vinson) Hamon.

She married George H. Coats on April 15, 1917. He preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 1940. She married Birt Rains on April 4, 1942, and he preceded her in death in 1965. She was a homemaker.

Also preceding her in death were her parents, son, Ray Coats, grandson, Jimmie Bert Short, granddaughter, Glenda Harjo Lamb; and five sisters and four brothers.

Surviving are children Juanita Bonnie Coats, George Reed Coats, Mary Louise Coats, Gladys Johnny Mae Coats, Helma Fay Helen Coats, Karen Smith, Nellie Earlene Coats and Lacrici McAfee; 33 grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Craig officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.

Cecelian Littlehead
Cecelian (Butler) Littlehead, 75, of Shawnee died Thursday at her home.

She was born Dec. 6, 1927, in Cushing, the daughter of George and Edith (Mason) Butler. She was raised in Cushing and attended Schlegel Elementary and Yale Public Schools. She was a seamstress and a horticulturist and lived in Shawnee most of her life.

She married Edward Littlehead in Shawnee. He preceded her in death in 1982.

She was a member of the Sac and Fox and the Bear Clan. Her Indian name was Pah-Pom-Mah-Thae-Quah, which translates to "bear pacing back and forth."

Littlehead also was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and three sisters.

Surviving relatives include three daughters and one son-in-law, Verlayne Wilson of Shawnee, Radonna and John Blanchard of Shawnee, and Clarissa Johnson of Cushing; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Edward Littlehead Jr., Cecil and Carol Littlehead and Ronald Littlehead, all of Shawnee; a sister, Mary Clark of Stroud; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Tribal rites will be Saturday evening at Horseshoe Bend Community Center. Burial will be 8 a.m. Sunday at Wilson Clark Cemetery. Walker Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Joyce (Wade) Lloyd
Tecumseh resident Joyce Lloyd, 70, died Saturday in Lafayette, La.

She was born Oct. 21, 1931, in Wetumka to Ebert W. and Opal Nadine (Capps) Wade. She was a 1949 graduate of Tecumseh High School and married Wendell G. Lloyd in Gainesville, Texas, on Nov. 25, 1949. They owned and operated Lloyd's Lumber in Tecumseh. He preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 1993.

Lloyd was active in children's activities, serving as a Blue Bird leader, Cub Scout leader and band parent. She was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church, the Tecumseh High School Alumni Association, the Tecumseh CBer's and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Also preceding her in death were her parents and two sons, Darryl Lloyd and Joe Lloyd.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Wynell Lloyd of Yukon and Cheryl and Criss Doss of Lafayette, La.; five grandchildren, Greg Doss, Derek Doss, Will Doss, Raquel Collings and Eric Lloyd; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Eldena Wade of Shawnee, Gary and Doris Wade of Tecumseh and "Poochie" Wade of Tecumseh; and many other family and friends.

Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Broadway United Methodist Church of Tecumseh with the Rev. William H. Bentley officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Roger Lee Redeker
Prague resident Roger Redeker, 55, died Sunday at his home.
He was born Aug. 20, 1946, in Cushing to Gus H. Redeker Jr. and Rosalie (Hoggatt) Redeker. He graduated from Prague High School in 1964 and retired as a volunteer firefighter after 20 years of service. He was a volunteer storm watcher for Prague Civil Defense, served on the Prague City Council and was a member and officer of the Oklahoma Oil Marketers Association.

Redeker also was a member of Prague First Baptist Church and formerly owned and operated Redeker Transport. He was most recently retired as a salesman for Midwest Oil Company. He was married to the former Cathy Gordon in 1982 in Gainesville, Texas.

Preceding him in death were his father and father-in-law.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy Redeker of the home; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Robyn and Andre' Vonsiatsky, Clemons, N.C.; Brandi and Jason Lehning of Amarillo, Texas; Karie Allen of Weleetka; and Katie Redeker of the home; his mother, Rosalie Redeker of Prague; mother-in-law, Anna Gordon of Weleetka; and two grandchildren, Redeker Vonsiatsky and Richard Allen.

Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel of Prague with the Rev. Tim Emmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Prague Cemetery. Viewing and visitation will be in the Redeker home, 1521 Westlawn in Prague, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. until Thursday. The casket will not be open at the funeral.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service.

Valera Moore Currin
Shawnee resident Valera Moore Currin, 91, died Saturday at a local nursing home.

She was born Nov. 23, 1910, in Hugo to Henry I. and Mattie A. (Price) Moore. Her family moved to Shawnee when she was 6 months old. She attended Shawnee schools and graduated from Shawnee High School in 1928. She attended Oklahoma Baptist University and received her A.B. degree in 1932.

She was the manager of the Credit Bureau of Shawnee at the time of her retirement in February 1975. She worked there for 49 years.

She married Dial Currin Dec. 14, 1974. He preceded her in death on April 22, 1977.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church since 1921, serving as Sunday School secretary for 21 years and singing in the choir. She was a member of Altrusa Club of Shawnee since 1965 and served as past president. She served in the Shawnee No. 43 Order of Eastern Star and a past Matron, and she served as District Secretary for two years. She was a member of the AARP Chapter No. 1527, serving as recording secretary for two years. She was a board member of the Shawnee Senior Center of Shawnee, where she also did volunteer work.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; four sisters, Parrie Moore, Mary Alyce Moore, Christine Keller and Martha Ann Ewton; three brothers, Henry I. Jr., Edwin and James Moore; a brother-in-law, Bill Ewton; and a sister-in-law, Lora Moore.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Leta Moore of Shawnee; two nieces, Valynda Ewton of Dallas, Texas; and Suzanne Petty and husband Sam of Arlington, Texas; four nephews, Riley and Nancy Moore of Norton, Kan., Jim and Alice Moore of Wetumka, Lynn Moore of Shawnee and Carl Keller; five great-nephews, four great-nieces, many friends, including a special friend, Al Wild.

Services are 2 p.m. today at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Dr. Rockford Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 10th & Beard.

Dr. Kenneth Ellis
Former Seminole County resident Dr. Kenneth Ellis, Lawton, died Sunday at age 71.

He was born Sept. 27, 1930, in Seminole to Ray and Bess Ellis. He married Doris Ledbetter March 20, 1953, in Meeker. He taught for 20 years and retired as a professor from Cameron University. He was a member of the National Education Association, the Oklahoma Teachers Association and other education organizations.

He was preceded in death by his father; a daughter, Teresa Ellis; and a brother, Jim Ellis.

Survivors include his wife, Doris, of the home; son, Chet Ellis of Lawton; mother, Bess Ellis of Shawnee; sisters, Imogene McCartin of Sun Lakes, Ariz., and Dixie Byerly of Seminole.

Services are 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be at the Becker Funeral Home in Lawton from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Cleo Craig Memorial Cancer Research Foundation, 5002 S.W. Lee Blvd., Lawton, OK 73505.

Reba Jane Lutman
Reba Jane Jackson Walker Lutman, 74, Shawnee, died Wednesday at her home.

Surviving are her husband, Ron Lutman of the home; sons, Greg Jackson, Shawnee, and Steve Jackson, Seminole; daughter, Ronda Funk of Shawnee; stepsons, Ron Lutman Jr. of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Raymond Lutman of Santa Rosa, Calif.; stepdaughters, Linda Brinkley of Fallon, Nev., Janet Steel of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Christina Comb of Santa Rosa, Calif.; sister, Jeanne Henry of Boerne, Texas; 14 step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. today at Swearingen Funeral Home with the Rev. Stanley Buckmaster officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

W.K. Houser
Ulysses, Kan., resident W.K. "Rusty" Houser, 91, died Wednesday at a Ulysses, Kan., hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Nora Virginia (McGlohon) Houser; four daughters, Lynda Fagan of Sharps, Fla., Dinah Baker and husband Al, Jennifer Hawkins and husband Hugh and Michelle Lamberson and husband Wayne, all of Ulysses, Kan.; brother, Clifton Houser, Wewoka; sister, Ernestine Payne, Shawnee; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church, Ulysses, Kan., with the Rev. Barry Durkee officiating. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Colorado City Cemetery, Colorado City, Colo.

Friends may call at Garnand Funeral Home, Ulysses, Kan., today 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church or to the Western Prairie Care Home, both in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant, Ulysses, KS 67880.

Sharon Ann Stokes
Sharon Ann Stokes, 59, Konawa, died Thursday in Shawnee.

Surviving are her brother, Tony Smith of Tecumseh; sisters, Wanda Lehman of Shawnee and Louise Kelly of Shawnee; seven nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Konawa Freewill Baptist Church with Richard Winters officiating. Burial will follow at Konawa Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa.

Ellen Blakley
Ellen Blakley, 87, of Golden Valley, Ariz., died Thursday, Jan. 31, at her home.

She was born March 8, 1914, in Stonewall, Okla., the daughter of John and Rebecca (Sellers) Wingo.
