Blakley was a housewife.

She married John Riley Blakley on Oct. 15, 1949, in McAlester.

She was a member of the Northwest Missionary Baptist Church and had lived in Shawnee until moving to Arizona four years ago.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, two brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Audrey Louise and Troy Belcher of Golden Valley; two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Dolores Scroggins of Amarillo, Texas, and Eugene and Pat Scroggins of Lumberton, Texas; a son, Ray Scroggins of Hydro, Okla.; a stepdaughter, Lorene Harmon; a stepson, Lonnie Blakley; a sister, Eula Mae Fite of Heavener; four brothers, Claude Washington Wingo of California, Jiggs Wingo of Oklahoma City, Leroy Wingo of Stuart, Okla., and Glenn Wingo of Tecumseh; 15 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A service will be 11 a.m. today at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Ed Fox officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.

Pauline Drain
Pauline Drain, 85, of Pottsboro, Texas, died Tuesday in Denison, Texas.

She was born Dec. 28, 1916, in Ardmore, the daughter of John and Vessie (Self) Sears.

Drain was reared in Ardmore. Following her marriage to Woody Drain in Purcell on April 4, 1934, the couple lived near Pearson and Konawa. They also lived in Shidler, Okla., Odessa, Texas, Arkansas and Gainesville, Texas.

Drain was a homemaker and a longtime resident of Pottawatomie County.

She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Odessa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Judy Drain, four brothers and a sister.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Gary Johnson of Pottsboro; two sons, Vernon Drain of Cartersville, Ga., and Loyd Drain of Bellaire, Texas; a sister, Christine Zarcone; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Tecumseh Cemetery with the Rev. Ken Jerome officiating.

The family has chosen the American Diabetes Association as appropriate for memorials.

Arrangements are being handled by Cooper Funeral Home.

Elsie Sarah Winn
Pottawatomie County resident Elsie Sarah Winn, 74, Meeker, died Monday in Shawnee.

She was born Sept. 19, 1927, in Fort Morgan, Colo., to Peter and Kate (Lesser) Adler.

She was a retired baker.

Her parents, her husband, Charles Winn, daughter JoAnn Myers and several brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Belinda Noyes, Shawnee; one stepson and wife, Ray and Beverly Winn, Meeker; brother Bob Adler of Littleton, Colo.; 12 grandchildren, Dana Reichard, Wendy and Colin Smith, Steven, Melissa, Billy, Desaray and Emily Winn, Cindy and Robby Ballard, Charles Noyes; and six great-grandchildren.

Viewing and visitation will be at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Meeker until 9 p.m. Thursday.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday at New Hope Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Emmons officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Prague.

John DeGolia
John DeGolia, 93, died Sunday in Chesterfield, Mo.

DeGolia was born Sept. 12, 1909, in Gallatin, Mo., to Judson F. and Cora DeGolia.

He grew up in Gallatin, Mo., and Boulder, Colo., and lived in Coffey, Mo., Los Angeles, Calif., and Tecumseh for many years before moving to Chesterfield 17 years ago.

DeGolia and his wife, Ann, married Jan. 9, 1939, in Los Angeles, Calif. She preceded him in death Oct. 16, 1983.

He was an artist, writer and a minister.

In addition, he was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Franklin DeGolia; grandson, Mike Cooley.

Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Joy McLaren of Spring, Texas, Gay and Barry Bissel of Jackson, Miss., and Glee Cooley of Joplin, Mo.; son and daughter-in-law, Dwight and Pam DeGolia of Chesterfield, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. today at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jim Rutters officiating. Burial will be in Tecumseh Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Clifford Willie Harjo
Clifford Willie "Seymour" Harjo, 88, died Monday in Tulsa.

Survivors include a sister, Viola Lucille Harjo of Byng, and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Prague Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Emmons officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Prague.

Carl C. Wright
Carl C. Wright of Shawnee died Monday at a local nursing home at the age of 83.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Sparks officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Edward Moody Burkholder
Edward Moody "Punk" Burkholder died Monday at his home near Okemah. He was 92.

Surviving are two daughters, Enola Ann Robinson of Everette, Wash., and Elaine Pfeiffer of Marion, Kan.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.

Donald B. Houk
Okemah resident Donald B. "Don" Houk, 72, died Tuesday in Oklahoma City.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah with the Rev. Carl Clay officiating. Burial is at Highland Cemetery in Okemah.

Houk was born Nov. 18, 1930, in Okemah to Homer B. Houk and Selma V. (Moline) Houk. He had been a resident of the Okemah area most of his life and was a farmer.

He served in the United States Army with the 45th infantry in Korea. He was a member of the American Legion and Cattlemen's Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his cousin, Dale Ingram.

He is survived by one brother, Von Houk, Shawnee; a niece, Pamela Cline, Shawnee; nephew Alan Houk, Shawnee; cousins Anna J. Moline, Freda F. Twist and Dean Moline, all of Okemah, and many other relatives.

Opal Rasure
Shawnee resident Opal Rasure, 89, died Monday in Longmont, Colo.
Further announcements will be made by Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Brandon N. Whitten
Brandon N. Whitten, 25, of Edmond died Friday.
Survivors include: his father, Reggie N. Whitten of Edmond; his mother, Terri Hudson of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Hannah Whitten and Crysten Cheatwood, both of Oklahoma City; a brother, Dylan Cheatwood of Oklahoma City; his paternal grandparents and maternal grandparents; and two uncles.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Church of the Nazarene in Oklahoma City with Jim Priest, Johnny Bob Hargrave and Mike Hinkle officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole.

Arrangements are being handled by Swearingen Funeral Home.

Helen Louise (Masters) O'Neal
Helen Louise (Masters) O'Neal, 72, of Stroud died Saturday at her home.
Survivors include her husband, Hugh, of the home; a son, Hershel Hugh O'Neal Jr. of Portland, Ore.; two daughters, Arra Gail O'Neal of Dallas, Texas, and Terri Jane McMurtry of Georgetown, Texas; a brother James "Jim" M. Masters of Bristow; a sister, Mary Alice Claybaugh of Tulsa; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church of Stroud with the Rev. Sandy Chace officiating. A graveside service will be held at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery in Rockwall, Texas, at 4 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Dawn Weaks officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Stroud.

Phillip McCray
Phillip McCray, 41, Antioch, Tenn., died Saturday in VanBuren, Ark.

McCray was born July 2, 1960, in Oklahoma City to Marvin Kenneth and Ellen (Fowler) McCray. He grew up in Pink and attended Tecumseh Schools. He had lived in Tennessee for the past 10 years.

He worked as a welder in metal fabrications.

He is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Ellen McCray, Tecumseh; stepson and daughter-in-law, David and Leigh Ann Johnston, Laverne, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Spencer Johnston, Sydney Johnston and Nikki Murphy, all of LaVerne, Tenn.; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Marty and Polly McCray, Shawnee, and Rick McCray, Oklahoma City; five nephews; two nieces; and aunt and uncle, J.T. and Dorothy McCray, Del City.

Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with Ronnie Churchwell officiating. Burial follows in Maysville Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Curtis Dean Mathews
Curtis Dean Mathews, 62, of McLoud died Sunday at his home.
Survivors include his wife Millie, of the home; a son, Mark Allan Pruitt of Midwest City; a son and daughter-in-law, Curtis Verl and Martha Mathews of Seminole; two daughters and sons-in-law, Alicia Mathews and Gary Stafford of Bowlegs and Janie Means and Willard Means Jr. of McLoud; a daughter, June Fish of McLoud; his mother and stepfather, Dorothy Faye and Paul Griffin of Midwest City; two brothers, Chester Mathews of Choctaw and Delbert Mathews of Shreveport, La.; four sisters, Deloris Berna of Dumas, Dena Mullenix of Midwest City, Janice Thigpen of Dallas and Linda Page of Moore; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Barnes and Johnson Funeral Home Chapel in Midwest City. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Barnes and Johnson Funeral Home.

John W. Wallace Sr.
John W. Wallace Sr., 66, of Victoria, Texas, who was reared in Shawnee and Prague, died Feb. 9.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia Bures Wallace; three daughters and sons-in-law, Debby and Ricky McCartney of Baytown, Texas, Patty and Casey Scevers of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Teri and David Austin of Port Lavaca, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law, John W. and Nancy Wallace of Victoria, Texas; two sisters, Estelle Harp of Shawnee and Shirley Mullins of Atoka; one brother, Jack Wallace of Durant; and nine grandchildren.

A service was held Feb. 13 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Victoria, Texas, with the Rev. Greg Koronek officiating. Burial was at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Ganado, Texas.

James "Jim" Cooper
James "Jim" Cooper, 59, of Seminole died Saturday at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Janice, of the home; a daughter, Mynista Ranee' Cooper of Seminole; a brother, Tom Cooper of Guthrie; and a nephew.

Services are 2 p.m. today at Swearingen Funeral Chapel, Seminole, with Rusty Aldridge officiating. Burial will be in Little Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Swearingen Funeral Home.

Fannie (Robinson) Cornett
Seminole resident Fannie (Robinson) Cornett, 102, died Saturday at a Seminole nursing home.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Ray McElroy of Seminole; a sister, Florence Anderson of Seminole; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Doyle Long officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Swearingen Funeral Home.

Ruby Lanier Nixon
Ruby Lanier Nixon, 89, of Rockford, Ill., formerly of Shawnee, died Tuesday at an Illinois retirement center.

She was born March 22, 1913, in Shawnee to Walter A. and Florence (Boatner) Dunn.

Nixon worked in retail sales and also as a lunch room cook.

She married Roy Lanier in 1933 and he preceded her in death in 1965. She later married Ralph Nixon in 1966, who preceded her in death in 1993.

She attended Trinity Baptist Church.

Nixon also was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Bill Lanier in 1969; one daughter-in-law, Cleta Nixon in 2001; and four brothers; and eight sisters.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Don and Margaret Lanier of Rockford, Ill.; two stepsons and one spouse, Kenneth Nixon and Garth and Sue Nixon; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Whittington of Shawnee and Martha Fruit of Borger, Texas; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel of Walker Funeral Service with the Rev. Mel Whittington officiating. Burial will follow at Blackburn Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service. Visitation with family will be 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday.
