George W. Glasgow
George W. Glasgow, 86, of Canadian and formerly of Shawnee, died Monday in McAlester.

He was born Oct. 14, 1917, in Sulphur to George H. and Lizziee (Sprowl) Glasgow.

Glasgow worked as a truck driver for Hydro Conduit Corporation for more than 20 years.

He was married to Eunice Jones.

Glasgow resided in Shawnee until last year when he moved to Eufaula.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and numerous brothers and sisters.

Survivors include a daughter, Georgianne Conly of New Caney, Texas; son, George W. Glasgow Jr. of Canadian; sister, Minnie Easley of California; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. James Walter officiating.

Services are under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Home.

Joe Thomas
Joe Thomas, 70, of Seminole died Tuesday in Norman.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Linda Thomas of the home; a son, Danny Thomas of Bonham, Texas; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Ann Wright of Katy, Texas, Rosa Stamile of Inola, Kim and Joe Brauning of Seminole and Audra and Curtis Young of Seminole; a brother, Newman Thomas of Durant, a sister, Mildred Holt of Esparto, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.

Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Smith and the Rev. Eddie Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Twin Oak Baptist Church, Rt. 3, Box 77A, Seminole, OK, 74868.

Myrtle Steadman Beaty
Shawnee resident Myrtle Steadman Beaty, 100, died Monday.

She was born Aug. 9, 1902, to Smith Brown and Eugenia Brown in Anderson, S.C.

She was a member of the Capitol Hill Assembly of God for many years before moving to Shawnee in 1992.

She married Hobby Steadman; he preceded her in death in 1933. Later, she married the Rev. L.L. Beaty, who also preceded her in death. Other relatives who previously died are a brother, Walter Brown, and two sisters, Gladys Ranly and Stella Ferguson.

Surviving relatives include a son, Harold Steadman and wife Jean of Georgetown, Texas; a daughter, Mary Ann LaCour and husband Joe of Shawnee; three grandchildren, Richard Steadman of San Antonio, Texas, Nancy Rodgers and husband Harold of Highland Village, Texas, and Dr. Sid Steadman and wife Cherri of Austin, Texas; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Vondel Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Jay B. Oaks officiating.

Lou Wesselhoft
Lou Wesselhoft, 84, of Tecumseh died Tuesday in Shawnee. Services are pending and will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh.

Mary Lou Franklin
Longtime Stroud resident Mary Lou (Dotson) Franklin died Tuesday in Tulsa. She was 66.

Surviving are her husband, Freddie of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Stephanie Franklin, Tulsa; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Wiletta Dotson of New Iberia, La., Jim and Ella Mae Dotson of Chandler and Frankie and Carolyn Dotson of Wichita, Kan.; one sister and brother-in-law, Katie Sue and Lawrence Bond, Stroud; two brothers-in-law, Charles Quinton of Quinton, Okla., and Doy Sprague of Chandler; two grandsons, Andrew Rooker and Shelby Franklin, Eufaula; and numerous nieces, nephews and relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Stroud with the Rev. Burl Mackey officiating. Burial will follow in Stroud Cemetery under the direction of Park Brothers Funeral Service, Stroud.

Betty R. Leabo
Betty R. Leabo, 78, of Shawnee died Monday.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-laws, Robert Jr. and Ruby Leabo of Chandler and Carl and Debra Leabo of Meeker; two daughters and one son-in-law, Linda Brasuell of Meeker and Shirley and Leon Hasbell of Shawnee; one brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Margaret Wright of Shawnee; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Viewing and visitation will be at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Meeker today and Thursday.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Meeker with the Rev. Michael J. Hamm officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.

Patsy N. Troxell
Patsy N. Troxell, 69, of Shawnee died Saturday at her residence.

She was born Oct. 23, 1932, in Ripley, Okla., to Loren George and Lillie Mae (Groves) Bendure.

Troxell attended Stroud and Cushing High School.

She built and operated the OK Korral CafeŽ in Shidler, Okla.

She moved to Shawnee, where she founded and managed the Shawnee School of Cosmetology until she became ill in 1992.

On Sept. 7, 1951, she married Fred Troxell in Sapulpa.

She attended the Hopewell Baptist Church. Earlier in her life, she served as the church pianist in Oil Center, N.M., and Odessa, Texas.

Troxell spent her early years in Ripley and Piqua, Ohio. The Toxells returned to Oklahoma in 1976.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Leroy.

Survivors include her husband, Fred Troxell of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Paula Troxell of Hugo, Okla., and Michael and Kim Troxell of Shawnee; one daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Michael Alexander of Shawnee; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Forest and Delores Bendure of Midwest City and Bob and Francis Bendure of Wheatland, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Friday at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Glen Pence officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.

Frank Anthony
Frank Anthony, 71, of Norman died Sunday in Norman.

He was born April 19, 1930, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Martin and Electoria (Toliver) Anthony.

Anthony was a graduate of East High School, Columbus. He earned a bachelor of fine arts at the Columbus Art Institute and a bachelor of arts and master of arts at California State University. He earned a masters of education at the University of Oklahoma and had pursued a doctorate at UCLA.

He was reared in Columbus and had also lived in Los Angeles, Calif., and had resided in Norman since 1980. He was a professional artist and sculptor and the audio project manager for the Postal Training Center in Norman. He owned Atho Lighting Company in Los Angeles.

A veteran of the Korean conflict, he served in the U.S. Army and earned a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Norman, where he had served as an elder. He coached football in the military and on a semi-pro basis. He also coached basketball for Irving School in Norman, his church league and the Optimist league.

On Sept. 8, 1968, he married Mary Agnes Grimes in Las Vegas, Nev.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Martin Anthony and Dewitt Anthony.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Frank Ethan Anthony of Cincinnati; a sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and Clyde Parks of Columbus; a sister, Audree Turner of Columbus; a brother, Phillip Anthony of Columbus; a sister-in-law, Flora Anthony of Columbus; an uncle, Abe Anthony of Columbus; numerous nieces and nephews; and family members in Oklahoma, Texas, Georgia and California.

A service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church in Norman with the Rev. Pam Normile, associate pastor of First Presbyterian, officiating. Burial will be in Brooksville Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Pauline W. Blanchard
Pauline W. Blanchard of Tecumseh died Tuesday. She was 81.

She was born May 20, 1920, in Dewey, Okla., to Allan and Lillie (Wilson) Longhorn.

She was reared in Dewey and moved to Shawnee at age 12. She lived in Pink most of her life.

She attended Wayside School in Dewey and Dwight Mission east of Shawnee.

In October 1944, she married John H. Blanchard in Shawnee. A homemaker, she also worked at Keller's Egg Farm for several years.

She was a member of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe. She assisted with vacation Bible schools at Pink Baptist Church and served a 4-H leader at Willow View Elementary School.

Preceding her in death were two sons, Johnny Lee and Henry Allan Blanchard; her parents, one brother, Earnest Longhorn and two sisters, Fay Washington and Joyce Ellis.

Surviving are her husband, John H. Blanchard of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Wesley Perryman of Newalla; three sons and one daughter-in-law, John M. and Radonna Blanchard, Shawnee, Ervin "Rocky" Blanchard, Shawnee, and Rueben Blanchard, Tecumseh; one brother, Wayne Longhorn, Norman; one sister, Beverly Butler, Shawnee; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Tribal rites were Wednesday at the Little Axe Community Center.

Graveside services will be 9 a.m. today at the Absentee Shawnee Tribal Cemetery with Don White and George Blanchard officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh.

O.R. Shaw
O.R. "Bud" Shaw, 69, of Meeker, died Wednesday in Shawnee.

He was born March 28, 1933, in Shawnee, the son of Robert E. and Loata B. (Batt) Shaw.

Shaw graduated from Meeker High School in 1951, later serving as District 3 county commissioner in Lincoln County for 12 years, from 1966-78. He was retired from a position at Tinker Air Force Base.

He served on the Lincoln County Soil Conservation Board for several years and was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church in Meeker.

Shaw was a 32nd degree Mason and served on the board of directors of the Meeker Historical Society.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ronelle Shaw.

Survivors include: a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Tammie Shaw of Lynchburg, Va.; a daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Jay Stringer of Meeker; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Frankia and Leeman Story and LaDonna and Bill Welborn, all of Meeker; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Shaw of Meeker; four grandchildren, Amber Stringer of Meeker, Lacey Shaw of Rockwall, Texas, and Callie and Kolton Shaw, both of Lynchburg; three nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the Morning Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Glen White officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery in Meeker. Viewing and visitation will be at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Meeker until noon Friday.

Arrangements are being handled by Parks Brothers Funeral Service.

Pauline Boyd Cullen
Pauline Boyd Cullen, 89, of Houston, Texas, died Saturday at Spring Branch Hospital in Houston.

She was born Aug. 1, 1912, in Shawnee to Isaiah and Hester Ann Boyd.

Cullen graduated from Shawnee High School in 1930.

She worked at Conoco Oil Company in the purchasing department from 1950 to 1977.

Cullen served as a wave in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Glen and Cecil Boyd; three sisters, Mae Hill, Lucille Deegan and Margaret Sumner.

She is survived by her husband, Hal Cullen, and a nephew, Don Sumner.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

David Ray Harris
David Ray Harris, Meeker, 45, died Tuesday at his home.

He was born May 19, 1956, in Prague to Freddy and Lovene Jones Harris.

Survivors include his parents; sister, Danita Cacciola, Prague; numerous uncles, aunts and nieces.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at Little Cemetery, Seminole, with the Rev. Terrel Romberg officiating. Parks Brothers Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Steve Fleetwood
Steve Fleetwood, 60, of McLoud died Wednesday. Services are pending with Asa Smith Funeral Service of Harrah.

Larry Gene Bennett
Larry Gene Bennett, 62, of Earlsboro died Wednesday at his residence.

Services are pending with Resthaven Funeral Home.
