Nora Jane Harley Campos, 41, Oklahoma City, formerly of Cromwell, died Saturday in Oklahoma City.

Survivors include two sons, Jason Hill of Bristow and Brian Harley of Oklahoma City; daughter, Janiella Sanchez of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Gary Harley and Joseph Harley, both of Oklahoma City; sisters Annette Hicks of Choctaw, Stella Lovings of Del City, Wynett Tiger of Oklahoma City and Nettie Tiger of Oklahoma City; her mother, Helen Harley of Oklahoma City; and three uncles, Stanley, Timmy and Alfred Hartley.

A wake service will be 7 p.m. today at Muddy Water Church, west of Hannah.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Muddy Water Church with the Rev. Raymond Simpson officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemeteryunder the direction of Robert Simons Funeral Home of Henryetta.

Cleo Nathan Matherly
Cleo Nathan Matherly, 79, Stroud, died Saturday in Stroud.

Survivors include his wife, Deloris Matherly of Stroud; sons, Galan Matherly of Mustang, Mike Matherly of Rock Mound, Monte Matherly of Wyandotte, Grant Miller of Stroud, Ronnie Miller of Stroud and Erick Miller of Jersey Village, Texas; daughters, Frances Farley of Depew, Charlotte Slemp of Bristow, Cathy Smith of Pryor and Gala West of Stillwater; two brothers, Clyde Matherly and Lawrence Matherly, both of Drumright; two sisters, Pauline Morris of Drumright and Deloris Newport of Sand Springs; 29 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Shamrock Cemetery in Shamrock under the direction of the Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.

Lela J. Carter
Lela J. Carter, 43, of Meeker died Saturday.

She was born Oct. 17, 1959, in Dallas to James and Rosa Carter.

Carter attended Meeker schools and Carter Seminary in Ardmore. She was employed at Wolverine and was a member of the Sac and Fox Nation.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Carter; a brother, Andrew Carter; and an aunt, Pauline Johnson Norman.

Survivors include her children, Tara Carter and Bradlee Coffee, both of Meeker; mother, Rosa Carter of Meeker; brothers and sisters, Delores Carter, Maxine Carter, Lois Carter, Letha Carter, Thomas Carter, Frank Carter and Larry Carter, all of Meeker; grandchildren, Darren Carter and Seinna Carter; and numerous other relatives.

Tribal rites will be 6 p.m. today at Rosa Lee Carter's home. Graveside service will be 9 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Gene Harjo officiating. Burial will follow at Wakolee Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Shaine Edward Green
Shaine Edward Green, 18, of Shawnee died Sunday in an automobile accident west of Asher.

He was born March 20, 1985, in Ada to Hershel Edward and Candyce (Pruitt) Green.

He was a senior at Prague High School, where he played basketball and had a 4.0 grade point average. He was a member of the National Honor Society and Who's Who Among American Students.

He served in the Army National Guard and the Civil Air Patrol. Green received the Civil Air Patrol Certificate of Appreciation, Billy Mitchell Award, Young Eagle Award and the Government Award.

He was a member of the Johnson Church of God, where he ran the sound equipment and taught on Wednesday nights.

He lived in Shawnee all his life.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Loretha and Warner Pruitt and Carolyn (Nanny) Green.

Survivors include his parents, Hershel and Candyce Green of the home; sister, Kristin Green of the home; grandparents, Charles and Sue Green of Shawnee, Paul and Trudy Pruitt of Chandler and Jackie Fields of Choctaw; great-grandparents, Mary Tynes of Shawnee and Lois Helmick of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; aunts and uncles, Jeanne and Carl Guinn of Prague, Dannielle and Richard Nokes of Joplin, Mo., Charles and Theresa Green of Hugo and Tammie and John Bradley of Oklahoma City; and several cousins.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Prague with the Rev. Charles Higgins officiating, assisted by the Rev. Charles Green. Burial will follow at Johnson Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service of Shawnee.

Charles Frank Shelton
Charles Frank Shelton, 79, a native of Shawnee, died Saturday at a local hospital.

He was born Mothers' Day, May, 13, 1923, to John Logan and Blanche Day Shelton.

In 1935, Shelton and his brothers formed the Shelton Brothers Quartet and performed on KGFF and throughout the region.

He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1942, and served in the U. S. Army during World War II with the 11th Airborne Division.

During the next half century, he continued to sing on radio and television in the Midwest and South as well as California.

He was in banking for 40 years in Oklahoma and California. He was president of banks in both states.

In the last few years, he and his wife entertained in nursing homes in a four-city area playing and singing together for residents.

Survivors include his wife, Euleane Shelton of the home; stepdaughter, Sheila E. Gay of Shawnee; stepson and his wife, William and Ahn Clothier of Torrance, Calif., stepgrandchildren, Eric W. Gay of Shawnee and Nathan Aaron and Montez Gay of Shawnee; sisters, Rachel Johnson of Plainview, Texas, and Naomi Akins of Shawnee; brothers, John L. Shelton of Shawnee, Harvey Day and Marylyn Shelton of Midwest City, and Glyn and Vicki Shelton of Boise, Idaho; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Matthews, the Rev. Phil Thompson and the Rev. Larry Goins officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Home.

Tony Fred Simek
Lifelong Lincoln County resident Tony Fred Simek, 90, of Prague died Monday in Prague.

He was born May 17, 1912, in Prague, the son of Jake and Anna (Kazmir) Simek.

Simek worked as a carpenter and farmed.

He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Prague.

Simek married Lillian Rosetta Turner on Aug. 20, 1932, in Seminole County. She preceded him in death on July 11, 1994.

He also was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Simek; and sisters, Mary Burnside and Anna Pechacek.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Pat Simek and T.J. and Frances Simek, all of Prague; daughters, and sons-in-law, Betty and Jack Webb of Shawnee, Geraldine and Bob McKay of Claremore, Kathryn and Ed Coose of Shawnee, and Klona and Jimmy Don Goodnight of Prague; brother-in-law, Raymond Pechacek of Prague; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at the First Assembly of God Church in Prague with the Rev. Kevin Wehrli and the Rev. Jeff Coose officiating. Burial will follow in Prague Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Prague.

Bessie Lee Ellis
Bessie Lee "Bess" Ellis, 99, Shawnee, died Sunday at a Seminole hospital.

She was born July 17, 1903, in Tecumseh to Francis Marion Jones and Lyda (Dyer) Jones.

She graduated from Central High School near Maud.

On July 16, 1927, she married Ray Ellis in Shawnee. He preceded her in death on April 16, 1985.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Central Church of Christ in Shawnee and the Rebekah Lodge.

A lifelong Oklahoma resident, she lived most of her life in Shawnee and Seminole.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; sons, Kenneth and Jimmie Ellis; granddaughter, Teresa Ellis; and sisters, Sadie Jones, Georgia Cash and Marie White.

Survivors are: daughters, Dixie Byerly and husband Howard of Seminole and Imogene McCartin and husband Daniel of Phoenix, Ariz.; seven grandsons, Michael, David and Kirk Byerly, Chet Ellis, Phillip, Brian and Daniel Ellis; four great-grandsons, Beau, Brit and Russell Byerly and Mason Ellis; one sister-in-law, Doris Ellis of Lawton and several nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with Dwyane Dennis officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park, Shawnee, under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Orbin Doty
Orbin Doty, 86, of Tecumseh died Wednesday in Tecumseh.

He was born Jan. 21, 1916, in Monett, Mo., the son of Joseph and Cora (Hatley) Doty.

Doty was raised in the Cassville, Mo., area. He had been a Tecumseh resident since 1952. He worked for S&H Kress in Shawnee and Pratt Foods in Tecumseh. In 1975, he retired from Champion Office Products.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ruth Chester Gay and Bessie Steele; and a brother, Lloyd Doty.

Survivors include two nieces, Loretta Riddle of Tecumseh and Robbie Jean Clay of Arlington, Texas; three nephews, Bob Chester of Summerville, S.C., Jim Steele of Ardmore, Tenn., and George Steele of Monett; five great-nephews; a great-niece; and many other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Tecumseh Cemeter, with the Rev. Kenny Myers of First Free Will Baptist Church of Tecumseh officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh.

Bill Spicer
Bill Spicer, 75, of Seminole died Friday at an Oklahoma City hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Spicer, of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Don and Vickie Spicer of Edmond; one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Mike Thompson of Novato, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Services will be 10 am. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Seminole with Dr. Kelvin Moseley officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Gennell Lynn (Edgell) Bryant
Gennell Lynn (Edgell) Bryant, 36, of Seminole died Friday at an Oklahoma City hospital.

Survivors include her mother, Susie Esther Edgell of Seminole; her husband, Donald "Donnie" Taft Bryant of Seminole; five brothers, Marcus Theodore Edgell, Walter Wayne Edgell, Bobby Ray Edgell and Jerry Jackson Edgell, all of Seminole, and Kenneth Lee Edgell of Oklahoma City; a sister, Joann Wheat Edgell of Seminole; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at Swearingen Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Kenneth L. Edgell officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. Chris Meek and the Rev. Roger Brewer.

Arrangements are being handled by Swearingen Funeral Home.

William Cleatus Crosby
William Cleatus Crosby, 96, of Shawnee died Monday at a local nursing home.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Gloria Crosby and Curtis and Wilma Crosby, all of Shawnee, and Cleatus Rex and Sylvia Crosby of McLoud; a daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Charles Clowdus of Mustang; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Resthaven Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Bill Matthews officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Arrangements are being handled by Resthaven Funeral Home.

Dominic "Jose" Morales
Dominic "Jose" Morales, 64, of McLoud died Sunday in Midwest City.

Wake services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel of Tecumseh. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church of McLoud with Father Eugene Marshall officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Shawnee under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.

Cathy Marie Brownlee
Cathy Marie Brownlee, 41, of Norman died Friday. There will be no service.

Arrangements are being handled by Asa Smith Funeral Service, Harrah.

Alton Ray Stafford
Lifelong Hughes County resident Alton Ray "Fat" Stafford, 65, died Sunday in Oklahoma City.

Survivors include his wife, Sallie Stafford, of the home; son, Alan Stafford of Holdenville and Anita Stafford of Shawnee; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Jeff Ledbetter of Holdenville; two grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Phil and Sue Stafford of Tecumseh; and numerous nieces, nephews cousins and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Holdenville. Burial will follow at Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.

Veta Mae Warden
Seminole County native Veta Mae Warden, 76, died Sunday in Shawnee.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Sharon Warden of Tecumseh and Lynn and Linda Warden of Seminole; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Denise Davis of Seminole, Kay and Joe North of Fort Smith, Ark., and Karol and Charley Parker of College Station, Texas; a brother, Gene McGehee of Jenks; three sisters, Violet Massey of Fairview, Virginia Carter of Seminole and Verlene Atterbury of Tulsa; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home chapel in Prague with Stacy Atterbury officiating. Burial will follow in the Little Cemetery near Seminole.

Arrangements are being handled by Parks Brothers Funeral Service.
