Inez Rackley
Inez (Coody) Rackley, 80, Shawnee died Saturday at her residence.

She was born Feb. 19, 1923, in Wilson, the daughter of Richard Henry Coody and Bertha Inez (Stringer) Coody.

She married Lenvill "L.C." Rackley on June 23, 1941.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of First Assembly of God in Shawnee, where she was a Cradle Roll teacher for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Ann Boland, son-in-law, Jimmy Wayne Parrish, one brother; and one sister.

Survivors include her husband, Lenvill "L.C." Rackley of the home; daughters, Delores Walter and husband James of Shawnee and Ruby Ellis and husband Bill of Seminole; six grandchildren and their spouses, Kendall and Cathy Boland, Roger and Lisa Parrish, Jeff and Lisa Boland, Julie and Noal Patton, Jack and Ramona Boland and Darrin and Lisa Boland; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Baugh and Pearl Holt and husband LeRoy, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Walter and the Rev. Ronnie Churchwell.

Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Home.

Glendell Bowerman
Glendell Bowerman, 52, Macomb, died Sunday in Oklahoma City.

Surviving are two brothers, Ben of Macomb and Charlie of Oklahoma City; and a sister, Chestalene Pintozzi of Tucson, Ariz.

Services are pending with Baggerly Funeral Home of Oklahoma City.

Freddy Paul Holson
Freddy Paul Holson, 52, of Tulsa died Sunday at his home.

He was born May 15, 1950, in Oklahoma City to Billy Lee and Joan (Holson) Bettis.

He grew up in Shawnee and graduated from Shawnee High School in 1968. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971.

He was a welding inspector.

He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Robert and Vera Lee and Troy and Mary Bell Clay; and stepfather, Tom Bettis; and nephew, Alberto Padilla.

Survivors include his mother, Joan Bettis of Shawnee; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Danny Jackson of Shawnee; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Earl and Tammy Holson of Tulsa; brother and sister-in-law, Robert E. and Penny Lee of Norman; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elaine and Dennis Pension of Shawnee, Linda Lee of Shawnee, Carol and Charles Abel of Ponca City, Sharon and Jack Westcott of Tecumseh and Bobbi Cullins of Shawnee; grandchildren, D.J. Jackson, Danny Jackson, Jesse Holson and Brandon Holson; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Oak Park Church of God with the Rev. Leroy Kerbo officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Home.

Karen Novack
Karen Garner Carpenter Novack, 57, of Shawnee died Monday in a local hospital.

Survivors include two sons, Phillip Carpenter and Kenny Wayne Carpenter, both of Shawnee; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Bonnie Garner of Tecumseh and Gary and Glenda Garner of Dale; a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Raymond Hendrickson of Shawnee; two granddaughters; a number of other family members of Bethel; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be 3:30 p.m. today at the Dale Cemetery with Mr. Dewayne Thomas officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by Rosech-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Glenda Sharon Murdock
Glenda Sharon Murdock, 51, of Shawnee died Wednesday in an Oklahoma City hospital.

She was born Feb. 18, 1951, in Lawton to Wanda June Murdock.

She attended the Kickapoo Friends Center church in McLoud.

She was preceded in death by her mother and two brothers, Mitchell Murdock and Don Murdock.

Survivors include four sisters, Norine Rodriquez of Brunswick, Maine, Pat Soliz of McLoud, Myra Wilson and Rachel Murdock, both of Shawnee; one brother, Dennis Murdock of Delia, Kan.; five nieces; five nephews; seven great-nieces; and five great-nephews.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, May 8, with Brad Wood officiating. Burial was in the Murdock Family Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Kickapoo tribe and Brad Wood, pastor of the Kickapoo Friends Center.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kickapoo Friends Center of McLoud with Brad Wood officiating.

Glena Jorski
Glena Jorski, 67, of Harrah, died Monday.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Harold Robben; two grandsons, Jon and Colt; two granddaughters, Lee and Senneca; three great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.

Services will be held at St. Teresa's Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited at 6:40 p.m. Thursday, followed by wake services at 7 p.m. Mass services will be 10 a.m. Friday, followed by burial at St. Teresa's Catholic Cemetery in Harrah.

Wesley Eugene Webster
Wesley Eugene "Gene" Webster, 70, of Seminole died Monday at an Oklahoma City hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Neta, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Otis and Beth Webster, of Concord, N.C., and Charles and Betty Webster of Seminole; two brothers, Ardell Webster, of Seminole and Alvin Webster of Midwest City; three sisters, Dollie Snyder, of Pismo Beach, Calif., Maxine Moore of Seminole and Carrie Magie of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Amazing Grace Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. James Johnson and the Rev. Harold Turner officiating.

Sheila Kaye Paschal
Sheila Kaye Burton Paschal, 46, of Tecumseh died Tuesday in Oklahoma City.

Services are pending and will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Bobby Joe Minyard
Shawnee resident Bobby Joe "B.J." Minyard, 73, died Tuesday at a local hospital.

Services are 10 a.m. Friday at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Further arrangements will be announced at a later date.

Bernice Bumgarner
Bernice Bumgarner, 69, of Tecumseh died Wednesday at her home.

She was born Oct. 17, 1933, in Augusta, Ark., to John Anderson and Fannie (Sanders) Westerman.

She was a homemaker.

She married David L. Bumgarner on Sept. 8, 1956, in Las Vegas. They were married for 47 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lucille Taylor, Louise Gallegly, Mable Turner, Jannette Sutterfield, Marie Smith and Betty Brawley.

Survivors include her husband, David Bumgarner of Tecumseh; son, Mark Bumgarner of Yukon; sisters, Mag Garner of Patterson, Ark., Faye Atkins of Wofford Heights, Calif., Martha Golden of Livingston, La., Donna Riley of Onyx, Calif., and Kathryn Brandt of Bullhead City, Ariz.; brothers, Charlie Westerman of Onyx, Calif., and Larry Westerman of Tecumseh; and a grandson, Jeff Bumgarner of Tecumseh.

Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at Tecumseh Cemetery with Bob Cox officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Home.

Donald R. Duvall
Shawnee resident Donald R. Duvall, 72, died Tuesday in an Oklahoma City hospital.

He was born June 12, 1930, in Shawnee to Roy and Fern (Shivers) Duvall.

Duvall graduated from Shawnee High School and attended Neff's Business College in Shawnee.

On Dec. 4, 1948, he married Lola Hembree in Gainesville, Texas.

Duvall served in the U.S. Army in Japan during World War II. He worked at Tinker Air Force Base and various other bases in California and Texas. He returned to Shawnee in the early 1960s to retire as a disabled veteran.

He was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Shawnee and the Disabled American Veterans.

Duvall was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Lola M. Duvall of the home; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Janice Gardner, Diane and Billy D. Lawrance, Cathy and Lynn Harmon and Teresa and Tom Story, all of Shawnee; two sisters, Cherrill Gaddy of Shawnee and Marty Nugent of Dallas, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Lavaun Duvall of Shawnee; and seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held at a later date under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Home.

Myrtle Ogusta Miles
Myrtle Ogusta Miles, 94, of Asher died Wednesday in Tecumseh.

Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Mary Cole of Asher; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Vista Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.

Linda Weigant Burnham
Linda Ann Weigant Burnham, 59, died Sunday at a Bethlehem, Pa., hospital.

A local memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. June 14 at St. John's Lutheran Church. The family has requested memorial contributions be made to the American Breast Cancer Foundation or the American Diabetes Association.

Funeral services are 4 p.m. Friday at Connell Funeral Home in Bethlehem, Pa.

Charlie Floyd Chaffin
Charlie Floyd Chaffin, 72, of Seminole and formerly of Okemah, died Wednesday at a Seminole nursing home.

Survivors include sons, Richard Chaffin of Shawnee and Nyland Chaffin of Seminole; daughter, Sue Lewallen of Seminole and Mollie Wyrick of Seminole; brother, John Chaffin of Weleetka; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at Bearden Cemetery with the Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Natalie Sawyer Moreland
Natalie Sawyer Moreland, 78, of Harrah died Wednesday in Midwest City.

Survivors include sons, Jay Moreland of Moncks Corner, S.C., Donald Moreland of Fairbanks, Alaska, Mark Moreland of Durant and James Moreland of Oklahoma City; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Services for family will be private.

Arrangements are under the direction of Smith-Parks Funeral Service of Harrah.

Demetti Marie Dedmon
Demetti Marie Dedmon, 94, of Shawnee died Tuesday in a local nursing home.

She was born June 23, 1907, in Mangum, the daughter of Orville Winfield and Rosie Elizabeth (Curtis) Jacobs.

Dedmon was a homemaker and a nursing home cook.

She came to Shawnee in 1927 from Abilene, Texas. She lived in Shawnee for 58 years and in Byars for 17 years.

She married Jerry M. Johnson on Sept. 7, 1923, in Tonapah, N.Y.

After her first husband died, she married Rabin Dedmon on Nov. 15, 1967.

She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and the American Association of Retired Persons.

Dedmon was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; six brothers and sisters; two daughters, Dorothy Johnson Bryce and Frances Johnson Hill; a son, Fred Johnson; and two grandsons, Clifford C. Chyz and Jerry James Hart.

Survivors include a son, Phillip E. Johnson of Shawnee; a daughter, Elsa M. Chyz of Shawnee; a son and daughter-in-law, J.D. and Ina Johnson of Shawnee; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Jean Jacobs of Oklahoma City and Calvin and Patsy Jacobs of Shawnee; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and many cousins and friends.

A service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bill Matthews officiating assisted by the Rev. Phil Thompson. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Pearl Brashier
Prague resident Pearl Brashier, 82, died Wednesday in Prague.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Clifford and Shirley Bryant of Prague; daughter and son-in-law, Geraldine and Bill Croley of Houston, Texas; a brother, Clifford Bryant of Huntsville, Texas; a sister, Mae Ladra of Prague; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Prague Cemetery with the Rev. Kevin Wehrli officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Prague.

F.G. NeeSmith
Longtime Stroud resident F.G. "Johnnie" NeeSmith died Friday at the age of 84.

Survivors include his wife, Mary NeeSmith of the home; sons, John F. NeeSmith of Stroud and Joseph NeeSmith of Pleasanton, Texas; daughters, Gilda Holmes of Hulbert and Patricia NeeSmith of Davenport; brothers, Durwood NeeSmith of Lyons, Ga.; Kermit NeeSmith of Hingsville; Terry NeeSmith of Vidalia, Ga.; 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many other relatives.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Stroud with the Rev. Joe Mollencupp officiating. Burial will follow at the Stroud Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Stroud.
