Ray Shields, 90, died Saturday at McLoud Nursing Center.

Arrangements are pending with Resthaven Funeral Home of Shawnee.

Sue Perryman
Shawnee resident Sue Perryman, 56, died Friday at a local hospital.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth Perryman of Earlsboro; a daughter, Ronda R. Perryman of Shawnee; sister, Louise Burkhart, Cedarville, Ark., and two grandchildren.

Graveside service was Friday at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Noah 'Everett' Neal
Noah "Everett" Neal, 83, longtime Konawa resident, died Saturday at an Ada hospital.

Survivors include sisters, Zora Branscum and Geneva Nelson, both of Konawa, and many other relatives.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Dovie Harms officiating. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.

Elizabeth Edwards
Elizabeth Edwards, 82, of Chandler died Sunday in Bethany.

Survivors include a son, Tim Edwards of Silver City, N.M.; daughters, Elaine Easter of Chandler, Della Fossum of Georgetown, Texas; Ruth Schanbacher of Yardley, Pa.; sisters, Thelma Esslinger of Fontana, Calif.; Ruth O'Hare of California; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Chandler with the Rev. Rick Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow at the Coalgate Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of the Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.

Lincoln Earl Jones
Seminole resident Lincoln Earl "Tego" Jones, 20, died Saturday at an Oklahoma City hospital.

Survivors include his parents, Thomas Jones Sr. of Seminole and Sylvia Jean Harjo of Seminole; the mother of his children, Cassendra Underwood of the home; daughter, Cameron Rae Jones, and son, Ashton Ray Jones, both of the home; grandmother, Linda Alexander of Norman; two brothers, Thomas Frederick Jones Jr. of the home and Dan Jones of Oklahoma City; sisters, Cathryn Harjo, Angela Harjo, Lana Jones, all of Seminole; Carolyn Jones of Moore and Muriel Wright of Tampa, Fla.

A wake service will be held at 7 p.m. today at the home of Angela Harjo.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dorsey Nero and the Rev. Webster Fixico officiating. Burial will be at Harjo Family Cemetery, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Alice Hazel (King) Gregory
Longtime teacher Alice Hazel (King) Gregory of Shawnee died Sunday at a local nursing home. She was 87.

She was born April 8, 1916, in Alabam, Ark., to Sidney Jefferson King and Mable Melrose (Denney) King.

She came to Mayes County, Okla., in 1923, and attended schools in Salina.

She received her bachelor's degree in elementary and high school education at Northeastern State. She did post-graduate work at Central State University and the University of Oklahoma.

She taught for four years at Spavinaw High School, eight years as an elementary school teacher in Dale, and entered the Shawnee school system in 1957. She taught 25 years at Washington School.

She married Richard E. Gregory on Oct. 9, 1943, in Miami, Okla.

She was a member of Wallace Avenue Baptist Church, past president of Pottawatomie County School Marms, past president of the Association of Classroom Teachers, past president of East Central District of Classroom Teachers, a member of National Education Association, Pottawatomie County Retired Educators, Delta Kappa Gamma, Jefferson-Bryan Club of Oklahoma County, Pottawatomie County Genealogy Club, Pottawatomie County Historical Society and American Association of Retired Persons No. 2654.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Mildred H. Rowell, and three brothers-in-law.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas E. and Lisa Gregory of Jones; grandson, Stephen D. Gregory of Jones; sisters, Mary Allen of Tulsa and Jimmie J. Cook of Drumright, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today with the Rev. DuWayne Colvin officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Harvey Booth
Harvey Booth of Duncan died Monday at his home. He was 50.

He was born in Wanette on Sept. 25, 1952, to Henry Coy and Julia Ophelia (Homer) Booth. He graduated from Meeker Schools and then moved to Enid and worked for Union Equity.

He began working for Halliburton in 1981.

He married Marsha Ruth McGuire on Aug. 4, 1984, in Caldwell, Kan.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Coy Booth.

Survivors include his wife, Marsha Booth of the home; mother, Julia Booth of Meeker; sons, Coy Lester Booth and wife Kristen of Enid; Jacob Harvey Booth of Enid; one stepson, Mickey Sean Lassiter and wife Tonya of Piedmont; four sisters, Patsy Ward of Sparks, Nina Howell of Harlingen, Texas; Ann Motley and husband Mitch of Meeker; Cleo Lewis of Tecumseh; one brother, Leroy Booth and wife Becky of Enid; seven grandchildren, Austin Booth, Alexis Booth, James Booth, Jessica Booth, Jason Booth, Tucker Lassiter and Maci Nagel; mother-in-law, Ardah McGuire of Enid; former daughter-in-law, Kristy Booth; former brother-in-law, Michie Lewis; sister-in-law Patsy Anderson of Stillwater, and other family.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Marlow with the Rev. Joe Ligon officiating.

Graveside service will be 4:30 p.m. at Sunnyside Cemetery in Meeker with the Rev. Charles Pearcy officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Marlow, the American Cancer Society or the Chisholm Trail Hospice.

Fernia E. Harrell
Fernia E. (Salyer-Winchester-Roller) Harrell, 80, of Shawnee died Sunday in Shawnee.

She was born Jan. 11, 1923, in Cement to Stephen H. and Lacy O. (Clift) Salyer.

She had been a resident of Shawnee for two years, moving here from Bristow. She previously lived in Prague for 42 years.

She graduated from Binger High School in 1940. She attended Shawnee Beauty College and owned the Prague Beauty Shop for many years and was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Prague First Baptist Church and attended the First Church of God in Shawnee.

She served as homeroom parent for her three children throughout their school years. She was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as Past Worthy Matron and Grand Chaplain.

She married Lawrence Winchester on May 17, 1942, in Las Vegas, Nev. She later married Therman Russell Roller on Oct. 5, 1944, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 22, 1985. She later married Elgan Lyle Harrell Jr. on April 29, 1991, in Seminole County.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Afton Salyer and Floy Salyer; two grandchildren, Scotty Adams and Susan Randol; sisters-in-law, Lois Salyer, Jo Ann Salyer, Nadine Salyer, and a brother-in-law, Vernon "Heavy" Blackburn.

Survivors include her husband, Elgan L. Harrell Jr. of Shawnee; sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Barbara Roller of Broken Arrow, Bennie and Melanie Roller of Prague; daughter and son-in-law, Starla (Randol) and Christopher McCulloch of Shawnee; stepchildren and their spouses, Terry Lee and Beth Harrell of Aledo, Texas; Elga and Max Walker of Shawnee; Dean and Wanda Harrell of Shawnee; Curtis and Shelly Harrell of Shawnee; sisters and brothers-in-law, Flenia and Clyde Blakley of Anadarko; Freda and Lloyd Burd of Amarillo, Texas; Florita Ann Davis of Deer Creek, Ill.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Forrest Salyer of Anadarko; Foy and Colleen Salyer of Loveland, Colo.; Farrell and Connie Salyer of Goodfield, Ill.; Freeman Salyer of Cyril; grandchildren, Shai (Randol) Haswell of Lexington; Michael Roller of Sherman, Texas; Marci Roller of Bakersfield, Calif.; Jeremey Roller of Prague; Justin Roller of Prague; stepgrandchildren, Anthony Johnson of Tucson, Ariz.; Brandi Walker of Shawnee; Christopher Harrell of Shawnee; Amanda Harrell of Shawnee; Casey Harrell of Shawnee; Andrew Harrell of Aledo, Texas; Leah Harrell of Aledo, Texas; Ryan Harrell of Aledo, Texas, Robert Annanders of Shawnee; LeeWanda Clark of Eufaula; Jeremy Annanders of Shawnee; three great-grandchildren and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with the Rev. Tom Harrison and the Rev. Lloyd Burd officiating. Burial will follow in the Prague Cemetery.

Mary Stewart
Mary Stewart, 94, of Tecumseh died Tuesday in Tecumseh.

She was born Oct. 19, 1907, the oldest of 11 children of Lewis and Hannah Hanson.

Stewart was reared in Iowa and came to Oklahoma City in 1936.

She married Elmer Christensen, and the couple farmed in the Miller-Garner, Iowa, area. In 1944, she married Dan Stewart in Oklahoma City. She worked as a cook for Oklahoma State Hospital and the Cerebral Palsy Center for many years.

She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City and had attended Broadway United Methodist Church in Tecumseh for several years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan; a grandson, Charles McMahan; a daughter, Lois Jones; her parents; a sister, Pearl Pinkerton; and a brother, Raymond Hanson.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Marion and Kenneth McMahan of Tecumseh; a son, Paul L. Stewart of Broken Arrow; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Milton and Helen Hanson and Duane and Mildred Hanson, all of Forest City, Iowa, and Earl and Holly Hanson of San Clemente, Calif.; a brother, Ernest Hanson of Garner, Iowa; a sister and brother-in-law, Vivian and Dwayne Rassmussen of Clear Lake, Iowa; two sisters, Lula Schroeder of Garner, Iowa, and Dorothy Wilson of Crystal Lake, Iowa; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many friends and other family members.

A service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Cooper Funeral Home chapel in Tecumseh with the Rev. William Bentley and the Rev. Tracy Schumpert officiating. Burial will be in Tryon Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Cooper Funeral Home.

Mary Virginia Hixon
Mary Virginia (Moss) Hixon, 81, of Stroud died Tuesday in Oklahoma City.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, James Lee and Darlene Hixon of Stroud, Thomas Wayne and Claudetta Hixon of Bethany and Dennis Gaylon and Pat Hixon of Edmond; one brother and sister-in-law, James D. Jr. and Maxine Mose of Louisiana; three sisters, Nerene Clemens of Cushing, LaDera Combs of Cushing, and Vernel Chestnut of Kansas City, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Stroud with Randal J. Ethridge officiating. Burial will follow in the Harrell Cemetery in Cushing under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.

Dovie Cordie Young
Dovie Cordie (Seaton) Young, 95, of Prague died Wednesday.

She was born to Sam W. and Sarah Seaton on Sept. 19, 1906, in Yell County, Ark. She had 10 siblings.

She married Argus W. Young on May 17, 1925. He preceded her in death in 1954. They lived in the Garden Grove and Centerview communities until 1949 when they moved to Shawnee.

She moved to Prague in 1986 and lived there until she became a resident of Meeker Nursing Center in 1994. She moved to Parkland Manor Nursing Home in Prague this year.

Her first job aside from farming was cooking in a restaurant on North Kickapoo in Shawnee. She worked at O.G. Harp Enterprises for several years. She was last employed at Kerr Dining Hall at Oklahoma Baptist University, where she worked until her 1964 retirement.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Juanita Wolf, seven brothers, three sisters, her parents, one grandson and one great-grandson.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Homer and June Young of El Reno, John J. and Nelma Young of Prague and Waldo and JoAnn Young of Oklahoma City; 11 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 43 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel, Prague, with pastors Jack Richey and David Sutton officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery in Seminole County.

Memorial gifts may be made to the View of the Cross Church, Prague, the First Free Will Baptist Church, El Reno, and the Northwest Free Will Baptist Church, Oklahoma City.

Mary M. Roesch
Mary M. Roesch, 87, of Mesa, Ariz., died Sunday.

She was born Jan. 17, 1915, northeast of Shawnee to Leonard C. and Elisa (McAllester) Musson.

She attended Musson grade school and graduated from Shawnee High School.

She married Robert L. Roesch on July 6, 1937, in Idabel. He preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 1983.

She was a member of St. Gregory's Museum Auxiliary, served as a pink lady at Shawnee Regional Hospital, was a member of the Chrysanthemum Chapter of the Shawnee Garden Club and a member of Junior Service League.

She moved to Mesa in the summer of 2000 to be near her daughter.

She is survived by a daughter, Lesley Drinkwater, of Mesa, Ariz; three grandchildren and spouses, Scott and Linda Drinkwater of Trophy Club, Texas, Robin and Steve Drinkwater of Mesa, Ariz.; seven great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Sue B. Roesch; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Max Shumake officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.
