James Lee Switch
James Lee "Jimmy" Switch, 57, of Newton, Kan., died Sunday in Saleen, Neb.

He was born Dec. 12, 1944, in Wewoka to Willie Switch and Martha Fox Welch.

He was reared in Shawnee and lived in Newton for many years.

He graduated from Shawnee High School and received a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and sociology from Wichita State University.

He worked for Hunter Health Clinic in Wichita as a drug and alcohol counselor.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict.

He was a member of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe, and was involved in tribal culture and tradition. He was a sun dancer and a gourd dancer.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Joe Welch; an aunt; two uncles; and two brothers, Sandy and Phillip.

He is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lisa and James Yellowfish of Moore, Leslie and Tracy Tanyan of Oklahoma City and Lori Switch, of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren, Amanda and Junior Yellowfish of Moore and Dan Switch and Alexis Tanyan, both of Oklahoma City; his mother and father of Shawnee; three brothers, Vogel Switch, Delbert Switch and Randy Switch, all of Shawnee; nine sisters, Doris, Liz, Ula, Martha Ellen, Vivian, Betsy, Loretta, Rita and Mary, all of Shawnee; three uncles, Floyd Switch, Herbert Switch and Wayne Holata; two aunts, Nora and Geneva Fox; and grandparents, Ruben and June Pettit, of Kansas.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Houston Tiger officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Ural C. Moore
Ural C. Moore, 79, of Shawnee, died Thursday at a local nursing home.

Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel.

Additional information is pending with Resthaven Funeral Home.

John Patterson
Tecumseh resident John Patterson died Friday in Shawnee. He was 82.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Tecumseh with the Rev. Tim Walker, the Rev. W.F. Crow and the Rev. Larry Sparks officiating.

Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery.

Other information is pending and will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

James Thomas Massey Jr.
Newalla resident James "Jim" Thomas Massey Jr., 53, died Thursday in Oklahoma City.

Survivors include his wife, Leatrice Massey of the home; one stepdaughter, Denisa and husband Roger Melkovitz of Bethany; sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Don Springfield of Ratliff City; half-sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Don Mueller of Oklahoma City; and three grandchildren.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Asa Smith Memorial Chapel in Harrah.

Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Berwyn Cemetery in Ardmore under the direction of Smith-Parks Funeral Service of Harrah.

Jack W. Baxter, M.D.
Former Shawnee resident Jack W. Baxter, M.D., died May 25 in Panorama Village, Tenn., at the age of 84.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah; sister, Doris Baxter Gregg; sons, Jack Baxter and George Baxter; daughter, Sherill Adair; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services were May 28 in Conroe, Texas.

Lula L. Bane
Lula L. Bane, 94, of Seminole died Wednesday at a Seminole nursing home.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Donna Bane of Shawnee, Alice and Earl Morris of Seminole, Juanita and Fred Ernst of San Jose, Calif., and Ruby and Monroe Creelman of San Jose, Calif.; sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Sharon Bane of Seminole, Charles and Darlene Bane of Muskogee and Doyle and Edna Bane of Holdenville; 25 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Church of Christ in Little with Rusty Dawson officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Lafayette Naron Himes
Lafayette "Lee" Naron Himes, 79, died at his home in Konawa.

Survivors include his wife, Viola Himes of the home; sons, Jesse Gregory of Eufaula and Gene Gregory of New Orleans; daughters, Brenda Northweather of Claremore and Linda Warner of Vinita; sister, Tessie McFadden of Oklahoma City; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Gloria Myer and the Rev. Mitch Williams officiating. Burial will be at Konawa Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.

Linda Kay Wood
Linda Kay Wood, 58, died Thursday at her home near Prague.

Survivors include her husband, Marion Wood of Prague; sons, Bradley Allen Johnson of Glendale, Ariz., and Sean Mickel Johnson of Burbank, Calif.; daughters, Darla Jean Norton of Baghdad, Ariz., and Cora Lynn Wood of Cornville, Ariz.; brothers, Ronnie Creseluse of Shawnee, Ralph Yagle of Bruceville, Ind., Tom Creseluse of Bicknell, Ind., Larry Creseluse of Westport, Ind., Bill Creseluse of Vincennes, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague. Burial will follow in the Garden Grove Cemetery near Prague.

Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.

Nadine Burns
Nadine Burns, 82, of Tecumseh died Thursday in Tecumseh.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. John Mixon officiating. Burial will follow at Pryor Cemetery in Stuart.

Other arrangements are pending and will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Anthony Dillion Janway
Anthony Dillion Janway, 3 days old, of Shawnee died June 6 at Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Survivors include his mother, Rashell Janway; grandparents, Walter and Tammy Janway, great-grandparents, Kenneth and Cheryl Hulsey and Charlotte Janway; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Graveside services were Tuesday at Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. Ken May officiating.

Eldon C. Whittern
Longtime Shawnee resident Eldon C. Whittern, 83, died Thursday at a Shawnee hospital.

He was born Nov. 22, 1919, in Pottawatomie County to Albert Nelson Whittern and Rose Ella (Morris) Whittern.

He was employed as a supply supervisor at Tinker Air Force Base until his retirement after 20 years of service.

He married Doris Bradbury on Sept. 6, 1940, in Shawnee.

He served in World War II and was awarded four Bronze Stars during the European campaign. He spent six months as a prisoner of war in Germany.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Beverly Conner; six brothers; and one sister.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Doris Whittern; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Janette Whittern of Oklahoma City; daughter, Phillis Heald of Shawnee; son-in-law, Wayne Conner of Memphis, Tenn.; brother, Wayne Whittern of Brentwood, Calif.; sister, Louise Jones of Waco, Texas; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Resthaven Memorial Park with Robert Perry officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Ennis Ray Lynch
Seminole resident Ennis Ray Lynch, 50, died Tuesday at Little.

Survivors include the mother of his children, Lynn Neal of Atlanta; three sons, Ennis Ray "J.R." Lynch Jr. of Stuart, Fla.; Casey Ray Lynch, stationed in Iraq; Kevin C. Lynch of Atlanta, Ga.; brother and sister-in-law, Charley and Bobbie Lynch of Seminole; two sisters, Mary Sue and husband Jerry Poff of Seminole and Shirley Houck of Seminole; and other relatives.

Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roy Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Keri Frances Schweizerhof
Shawnee resident Keri Frances Schweizerhof, 65, died Thursday at a local nursing home.

Services are pending and will announced by Resthaven Funeral Home.

Raymond E. Webb
Raymond E. Webb, 74, of Seminole died Tuesday at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Winnie Lorene (Brown) Webb of Seminole; two sons, Kenny Webb and Steve Webb, both of Birmingham, Ala.; a daughter, Denise Webb of Birmingham; three stepdaughters, JoAnn Oakley of Houston, Barbara Stotts-Sjoberg of Seminole and Phyllis Dye of New Braunfels, Texas; three brothers, Howard Webb of Smyrna, Ga., Olan Webb of Pinetop, Ariz., and Leo Webb of Birmingham; two sisters, Jimmie Lou Gospodareck of Monroe, N.C., and Gwin Riley of Birmingham; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A service will be 3 p.m. today at Strothers Chapel in Maple Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Kelvin Moseley officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Swearingen Funeral Home.

Zola Mae Hand
Zola Mae Hand, 75, of Shawnee died Wednesday at her home. A service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel. Other services are pending with Gaskill-Owens.

Kenneth Willingham
Kenneth Willingham, 72, of Stroud died Wednesday in Oklahoma City.

He is survived by his wife, Helen of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jackie Harold and Pam Willingham of Kendrick and Terry Dean and Beverly Willingham of Cushing; three daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Kay Mann of Ada, Janet Elaine Burch of Henrietta, Texas, and Fay Lynn and C.W. Melton of Kendrick; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Buck and Classie Willingham of Drumright, and Jackie and Wanda Willingham of Kinta; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Margie and Eugene Rogers of Stroud, Fern and A.J. Weatherl of Midland, Texas, and Freda and Everett Pickard of Shawnee; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church in Stroud. Burial will follow in the Stroud cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Funeral Service, Stroud.

Mildred Lucille Hackett
Mildred Lucille Hackett, 88, died Tuesday in Oklahoma City.

She was born Nov. 1, 1913, in Wanette, the daughter of William Alford and Sarah Alice Mabel Reynolds.

Hackett was reared on the family farm with her sisters, Celestia "Bobbie" Caskey and Katherine Hummell, and brother Chinkie Alford "Pardi" Reynolds, all of whom preceded her in death.

She married Alford Hackett on Nov. 17, 1934, and moved to Oklahoma City, where she was a homemaker.

She also volunteered at Tyler Elementary School and in the nursery at Exchange Avenue Baptist Church.

Hackett was a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church, Oklahoma City.

She is survived by a son, Donald Alford Hackett of San Carlos, Calif., and daughter and son-in-law Sara Alice and Tim Costilow of Oklahoma City; two grandsons, Gregory Don Rowland and Matthew Tyler Costilow, both of Oklahoma City; and many nieces and nephews.

Services for Hackett will be 10 a.m. today at Southern Hills Baptist Church, Oklahoma City, and a graveside service will be held at the cemeteryin Wanette.

Services are under the direction of Vondel L. Smith and Son-South, 6934 S. Western, Oklahoma City.

Irene W. Pierce
Irene W. Pierce, 73, of Shawnee died Thursday.

Services are pending with Paylor Funeral Home in Midwest City.
