William Ben Cooper
William Ben Cooper of Shawnee, 43, died Aug. 15.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Claude Dockrey; his sister Letha Dockrey; and Lance Reeves.

He is survived by his mother, Betha Dockrey; one sister, Mamie Dockrey; one nephew, Jake; his aunt and uncle, Margie and Tommy Cotton; his former wife and friend, Pat Ward of Shawnee; one stepdaughter, Shelly McInturff; one stepson, Cody Ward; one daughter, Brittany; one son, Matthew; and other aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Barnes and Johnson Funeral Home, 1820 S. Douglas Blvd. in Midwest City.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Shawnee.

Naomi Kaye Howell
Lifelong Seminole resident Naomi Kaye Howell, 53, died Aug. 20 in Shawnee.

She is survived by her first husband, Jimmy Lindsay of Oklahoma City; her second husband, Bobby Clower Sr. of Wolf; two sons, Timothy Quinn Lindsay of Shawnee and Bobby Clower of Seminole; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherri and Max Fixico of Shawnee and Julia Clower and Frank Cullum Jr. of Bowlegs; one brother, William Howell of Seminole; two sisters, Betty Mason of Seminole and Shirley Deatherage of Shawnee; and 12 grandchildren.

A wake will be held 7 p.m. Friday at the family home, 1752 N. Ideal Street in Seminole. Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Dorothy Mae Heinzig
Lifelong Prague resident Dorothy Mae Heinzig, 88, died Aug. 19 in Shawnee.

She was born Aug. 12, 1915, in Prague, to Hubert Leroy and Myrtle Mary (Duggan) Smith.

Heinzig was a homemaker and member of the Rebekah Lodge. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Prague.

She married George Theodore Heinzig on Feb. 15, 1933, in Chandler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two sisters.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Thomas Lundregan of Chandler, Ariz., and Carolyn and Jay Rumberger of Siloam Springs, Ark.; one brother and sister-in-law, Cecil and Velma Smith of Ardmore; one sister, Jewel Bell Schima of Shawnee; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Visitation is 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague. Burial will follow in Prague Cemetery.

Hazel Hailey Keisling
Hazel Hailey Keisling, 72, of Tecumseh died Aug. 14 in Phoenix, Ariz.

Service will be 10 a.m. Friday at the First Christian Church in Shawnee with the Rev. Milo Steffan officiating.

Burial will be in Tecumseh Cemetery.

Other information is pending with Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Opal Christine Neal
Opal Christine Archer Miller Neal, 91, died Aug. 20 at a Prague nursing home.

Service will be 10 a.m. Friday at the chapel of Walker Funeral Service.

Further information is pending.

Ethelyn Spencer
Ethelyn Spencer, 85, of Shawnee died Monday in Oklahoma City.

She was born May 25, 1918, in Garber, to Frank V. and Charlotte Wiles.

She graduated as valedictorian of Garber High School in 1934.

She worked at Douglas Aircraft Co. (TAFB) during World War II. After the war, she graduated from the University of Tulsa in May 1950 with a bachelor of arts and minor in religion.

After graduating, she worked as the executive secretary for Blackwell Oil Co. In 1953 she became the first certified professional secretary in the state. In 1956, she attended Vassar Institute for Women in Business. She was a member of Toastmasters.

On April 25, 1959, she married E.B. Spencer and they lived in Oklahoma City until 1977, when they retired to Shawnee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, E.B., in 1997.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Donna Spencer of Oklahoma City, Gary and Phoebe Spencer of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Terry and Lynn Spencer of Moore; five grandchildren and their spouses, Jamie and David Pyle of Corpus Christi, Diana and Bobby Webb of Allen, Texas, Rock and Rose Mary Lewis-Spencer of Salt Lake City, Utah, Pamela and John Brothers of Lewisville, Texas, and Lance Cpl. Tina and Cpl. Harry Carpenter of USMC, Okinawa, Japan; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 pm. today and Friday at Smith and Kernke Funeral Home, 1401 N.W. 23rd, Oklahoma City.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.

Jessie F. McCreary
Jessie F. McCreary, 98, died Wednesday.

Further information and arrangements are pending with Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.

Logan Kinkaid Nobert
Six-week-old Logan Kinkaid Nobert, infant son of Jeff Nobert and Melody Banks, of Earlsboro died Aug. 18.

He was born July 6 in Shawnee.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents and one uncle, Joseph Nobert.

He is survived by his parents, Jeff Nobert and Melody Banks of Earlsboro; one sister, Cherish Wands; his grandparents, Joyce and Bob Swan of Shawnee and Pamela and Earl Nobert of Earlsboro; his aunts and uncles, Michael Alldredge, Donnie and Angela Alldredge and Steve and Marie Banks.

Service will be 3 p.m. Friday at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Shawnee with the Rev. Bill Matthews and the Rev. Phil Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park. The casket will remain open until the service time.

Jesus Perez II
Jesus Perez II, infant son of Jesus and Lorna Perez of Eufaula, was born and died Aug. 11 in Oklahoma City.

He is survived by his parents, Jesus and Lorna Perez; one sister, Kristin Pearce of Eufaula; his grandparents, Harold and Linda Holcombe of Tecumseh, W.R. and Coeta Branscum of Shawnee, Damacio Perez Zamora and Sonia Castros Rios and Elias Alvarado Recendis; and numerous other relatives.

Service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Resthaven Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Michael Stock Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Forrest Hills Cemetery in Tecumseh.

Arrangements are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home in Shawnee.

Donald R. Sullivan
Donald R. Sullivan, former minister at Shawnee Central Church of Christ, died Aug. 21 at his Minot, N.D., home. He was 66 years old.

He was born Oct. 28, 1936, near Hillsdale, Kan., to James and Myrtle Sullivan.

He graduated from Shawnee Mission High School in 1954. Later, he enrolled at Central Christian College in Bartlesville. In 1969, he graduated from the Bear Valley School of Preaching. He earned his master's degree in 1982 from Trinity Theological Seminary.

On Jan. 18, 1957, he married Lillian Alice Stumbo in Owasso.

Sullivan was minister of the Minot Church of Christ from November 1964 to February 1977. He preached at Yorba Linda Church of Christ in Yorba Linda, Calif., from 1977 to 1979. His next church was the Beaumont Church of Christ in Beaumont, Calif., where he served from 1979 to 1986. He also was an instructor for the Southern California School of Evangelism in Buena Park, Calif., from 1977 to 1986, and was the academic dean from 1988 to 1990.

After he left Beaumont, he moved to Kaiserslautern, West Germany, where he served for two years. In Germany, he ministered to military families and was involved in evangelistic endeavors in Germany and Switzerland.

After his time abroad, he came to serve at Shawnee Central Church of Christ and established the Shawnee School of Evangelism.

Sullivan returned to Minot on Aug. 23, 2002, where he served as minister of the Minot Church of Christ until his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant sister, Mary Louise Sullivan.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian, of Minot; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Larry and Pam Sullivan of Chemnitz, Germany, John and Emily Sullivan of Lemon Grove, Calif., and Michael Sullivan of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Cissy Sullivan of Norman; 10 grandchildren, Kendra, Kristopher, Justin, Ema, Becca, Jessica, Jenna, Emily, Paisley and Annaly Sullivan; one brother and sister-in-law, Larry R. and Nancy Sullivan of Oak Park, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation and the funeral were held Saturday in Minot. Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hillsdale Cemetery, Hillsdale, Kan.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Central Church of Christ in Shawnee.

Memorial may be made to the Southern California School of Evangelism in Buena Park or the Children's Home of Lubbock, Texas.

Alois Geraldine Knoles
Alois Geraldine Hornback Knoles, 68, Shawnee, died Aug. 22 at her home.

She was born Feb. 18, 1935, in Jeffersonville, Ky., to J.W. and Violet Bell (Davis) Hornback.

She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents, her parents and one brother.

Surviving are her husband, Freddie D. Knoles, of the home; son, Freddie D. Knoles Jr. and wife Pam; daughter, Cathryn Y. (Knoles) Yeargain; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Tecumseh Cemetery with the Rev. Clint Dawkins officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice, Shawnee.

Dorothy Marie New
Dorothy Marie New, 76, Meeker, died Aug. 22

A memorial will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Asa Smith Memorial Chapel in Harrah. Other arrangements are pending with Smith-Parks Funeral Service, Harrah.

Vera Lee Beal
Vera Lee Beal, 85, Buffalo, Mo., died Aug. 21 at her home.

She was born Feb. 25, 1918, in Sallisaw to Roy and Jenny (Sisk) Letts. She attended school at Bowlegs.

On Dec. 12, 1947, she married Leon F. Beal in Shawnee. She retired from Tinker Air Force Base and was a member of Westgate Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband in 1985 and sister, Theodocia Webb.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Johnny L. and Kimberly Beal, Springfield, Mo., and granddaughter, Rachelle Kelton of Lubbock, Texas.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Walker Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery.

Oma Viola Ross
Oma Viola Ross, 96, Prague, died Aug. 23. Services are pending with Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Prague.

Samuel Benjamin Gillette

Samuel Benjamin Gillette, 73, died Aug. 22 in Oklahoma City.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Resthaven Memorial Park. Other arrangements are pending and will be announced by Resthaven Funeral Home.
