Taeko Sekiguchi Sparger
Taeko Sekiguchi Sparger, 73, of Norman, Oklahoma, died Saturday, April 24, 2004 in Norman, Oklahoma.
A private service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2004 with Reverend Paul Castell officiating.
Mrs. Sparger was born October 20, 1930 in Tokyo, Japan, to Juzo and Tokie (Endo) Sekiguchi.
She married Captain John Robert Sparger in Tokyo, Japan on October 22, 1952.
She moved to Norman in June 1964 from Ardmore, Oklahoma and graduated from the University of Oklahoma, receiving a Bachelors and Masters of Fine Arts degrees. She pursued
a career as an educator.
Mrs. Sparger was preceded in death by her parents and
husband. Survivors include son, John Robert Sparger II and wife,
Susan of Houston, TX; three daughters, Julia L. Gray of Ft. Gibson,
OK; Kelley Sparger Hightower of Terrell, TX and Aelli Sparger of
Norman, OK; sister, Susuko Sekiguchi and brother, Yo-Ta Sekiguchi
of Tokyo, Japan; six grandchildren, Amy Robertson, Cory and Sean
Gray, Kyle Sparger, Leah Storey and Michael Bagwell; and four
great-grandchildren, Tyler and Iyleah Gray, Morgan and Garret
Robertson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Southfork Baptist Church, P.O. Box 335, Wylie, TX 75098.

James Charles “Jim” Williamson
James Charles “Jim” Williamson, 62, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2004, at Norman Regional Hospital. Service will be held at 3:30 P.M. Monday, April 12, 2004 at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel, Norman, Oklahoma. Arrangements by Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman.
Mr. Williamson was born July 22, 1941 in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Riley J and Mary Mildred (Brownware) Williamson. He graduated from Phoenix Union High School in Phoenix, Arizona. Mr. Williamson
was a member of a number of community organizations including the
Elks and Moose Lodges, the American Legion and the Phoenix
Jaycees. He married Alice M. Rodrigues on June 13, 1998 in Purcell,
Oklahoma. Mr. Williamson was preceded in death by his parents
and his wife, Carolyn Kay Damiano. Survivors include his wife,
Alice M. Williamson of the home; two sons, James Andrew
Williamson and wife, Christine, of League City, TX and Audie
Bennett Burns of Norman, OK; three daughters, Stella Louise
Brickman and husband, Joe, of Phoenix, Az, Andrea Annette Bowles
and husband, Bobby, of Purcell, OK and Elizabeth Rose Windon and
husband, Steve, of Purcell, OK; brother, Larry Robert Williamson;
and nine grandchildren, Chelsea Bowles, Tyler and Cale Winton, all
of Purcell, OK, Easton Burns of Jones, OK, Emma Burns of Norman,
OK, Steven Burns of Moore, OK; Sunny Burkholder of Arizona,
Damien Damiano and Delia Damiano, both of Phoenix, AZ.

David Louie Woodrow, Sr.
David Louie Woodrow, Sr., 79, of Norman, Oklahoma died Wednesday, April 21, 2004, in Norman following an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, April 26, 2004, at First Christian Church in Norman with Reverend David Spain officiating. Interment will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norman, Oklahoma.
Bearers will be Kyle Catt, Clif Woodrow, David Chenot, his grandsons, and Ronnie Hawkins, LeRoy
Stibbins, Joe Merkle, Nolan Grissom, Marc Murphy and Ronnie
Collett. Honorary Bearers will be his many wonderful friends.
Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of
Norman, Oklahoma.
David was born February 4,1925, in Ft. Cobb; OK, to
Thomas and Mary Woodrow. He was the oldest and only son of
seven children. The Woodrows moved to Norman in 1939. In his
senior year at Norman High School, he was drafted into the Army
and served in first invasion of the Battle of Normandy. He was
honorably discharged on August 29, 1944. After returning home
he married Yvonne Wilder on October 6, 1945.
David was plant manager at Norman Concrete, formerly
Makins Concrete, before retiring in 1992. David loved to travel,
eat, and garden, and in his later years, loved going to the mall and
having coffee in the afternoon. He especially loved and enjoyed his
ten grandchildren and visiting with his many wonderful friends.
Mr. Woodrow is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas
and Mary; a sister, Mary Jo; and his father- and mother-in-law,
Leonard & Marie Wilder. Survivors include his loving wife of
fifty-nine years, Yvonne Jo; three sons, David L. Woodrow, Jr. and
wife, Nancy, Kenneth Woodrow and wife, Ann, all of Norman,
Oklahoma, and Michael L. Woodrow and wife, Denise, of Purcell,
OK; daughter, Sandra J. Chenot and husband, Alan of Norman,
OK; ten grandchildren, Heather, Sommer, Amy, Kyle, Cliff, David,
Allison, Jace, Addie, and Erin; and five sisters, Patricia Merkle and
husband, Joe, Betty Morgan, Janie Murphy and husband, Marc, all
of Norman, JoNell Grissom and husband, Nolan, and Wanda
Collett and husband, Ronnie, all of Noble, OK.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung
Association of Oklahoma for the Better Breathers Club at 3160 W.

Kennard “Preston” Wooldridge
Kennard “Preston” Wooldridge, 71, of Norman, Oklahoma,
died Tuesday, April 20, 2004 in Norman, Oklahoma. Graveside
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 23, 2004, at Norman
I.O.O.F. Cemetery with Reverend John L. Roberts officiating.
Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of
Norman, Oklahoma.
Mr. Wooldridge was born June 20, 1932 in Richland,
Oklahoma, to Blanche (Preston) and Byrd Mooney Wooldridge. He
graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1950. He married
Lorraine K. Anastor on May 21, 1955, in Washington, Oklahoma.
Mr. Wooldridge served in Korea with the U.S. Marines. Mr.
Wooldridge was a retired concrete contractor in Norman.
Mr. Wooldridge was preceded in death by his father, Byrd
Mooney “Pete” Wooldridge; two sons, Ronald Dean Wooldridge and
Gregg Alan Wooldridge; and brother, Kenneth Russell Wooldridge.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Kathryn, of the home; mother,
Blanche Wooldridge of Oklahoma City, OK; son, Scott L.
Wooldridge of Tuttle, OK; daughter-in-law, Martha Wooldridge of
Norman, OK; three grandchildren, Nathan, Cassandra and Asa
Wooldridge.

Churchill E. Blakey
Churchill E. Blakey, 50, Norman, died Saturday, Feb. 21, in a traffic accident on Interstate
35. He was born May 10, 1953, in Oklahoma City, to Churchill and Gail Blakey. He attended
schools in Oklahoma City and in the mid-1960s moved to Norman with his family. He attended
Norman Public Schools including Norman High School. He later attended The George Junior
Republic near Ithaca, N.Y., and Pima Junior College in Tucson, Ariz.
Churchill was a child of the ’60s. He loved to experience life, and in his youth traveled to
Haight-Ashbury in San Francisco with several friends. He was an avid reader, loved poetry and
politics and was committed to liberal causes. Many years of his life were served in prison, but the
Lord set him free and he was devoted to helping those still in the darkness to find God’s grace. For
the past nine years, Churchill was a valued employee of “Top of the World,” a worldwide
manufacturer of sports apparel based in Norman. Churchill loved music, especially blues, jazz and
classical rock ’n’ roll. He was generous to a fault and devoted to his two cats, Iggy and Periwinkle.
He was preceded in death by his father, Churchill Blakey, in 1975. Survivors include his
mother, Gail Blakey of Norman; sister, Carol Blakey of Oklahoma City; and brother, Tom Blakey
of Norman.

Roy L. Bugher, Sr.
Roy L. Bugher, Sr. of Noble, Oklahoma
died February 27, 2004, in Norman, Oklahoma.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m.,
Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at the First Baptist
Church in Noble, Oklahoma with Chaplin Paul
Bettis and Sheriff Dewayne Beggs. officiating.
Interment will follow at the Noble IOOF
Cemetery in Noble. Bearers will be Gerald
Moody, Lynn Thomason, Ray Peterson, Paul
Bugher, Hart Brown and David Mobley.
Honorary Bearers will be the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Department,
Delayne Woodrow, Jack Stringer, Gordon Conklin, Gene Waggoner,
Darel Moring, Junior McKiddy Mike Holt and Tom Brackett.
Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of
Norman.
Mr. Bugher was born May 1, 1939, in Noble, Oklahoma to
Theodore F. and Emma Videll Brown Bugher. He married Suzan
Bugher on July 20, 1959, in Norman. He received a Bachelor of Arts
Degree from the University of Oklahoma. Mr. Bugher retired after
37 years as a Police Officer, serving 20 years with the Norman Police
Department and serving as the Police Chief of the Del City Police
Department, U.S. Marshal Service and as Under Sheriff for Cleveland
County. He was a member of the Sheriff and Peace Officers
Association, Oklahoma Police Chiefs Association, Oklahoma Sheriff
Association, National Sheriff Association and American Correctional
Association.
Mr. Bugher was preceded in death by his parents and sister,
Doris. He is survived by his wife, Suzan, of the home; son, Roy L.
Bugher, Jr. and wife, Renee, of Lexington, OK; daughters, Kathy
Stapp and Cindy Bridges and husband, Randal, both of Noble, OK;
brothers, Ted Bugher and wife, Jo, of Lexington, OK, Lewis Bugher
and wife, Vondel and Delaney Bugher and wife, Bobbi, both of
Noble, OK; sisters, Jean Depuis, of Lebanon, Ohio and Betty Hellen
Cox of Noble, OK; nine grandchildren, Tonya Stapp, Melanie
Bridges, Kayla Taylor and husband, Dustin, Randal, Jr. and Rebecca
Bridges, all of Noble, OK and Michael, Mark, Matthew and Ashley
Bugher, all of Lexington, OK and one great-grandchild, Kyle Taylor
of Noble, OK.
