Bridget Marie Sterrett
Oklahoma City resident Bridget Marie Sterrett, 42, died Sunday, Jan. 2, in Oklahoma City.

Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Shane Lester officiating. Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery. Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh is directing arrangements.

Stella Gohlke
Stella Gohlke, 84, died Saturday, Jan. 1, at her Shawnee home.

Memorial service were held 10 a.m. Monday at Resthaven Funeral Chapel.

Keith Alan Bovee
Former Shawnee resident Keith Alan Bovee, 83, of Salem, Ore., died Wednesday, Dec. 29, of cancer.

He was born Dec. 16, 1921, in Shawnee to Glen Peter and Vina Irene Bovee.

As a Boy Scout, he earned his Eagle Scout badge. He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1939.

Bovee entered the U.S. Navy in 1942 when the United States entered World War II. He was a cryptologic security specialist in Washington, D.C.

On Sept. 1, 1942, he married Pauline Elizabeth "Betty" Dunbar of Tulsa in Washington, D.C. Upon his discharge from the Navy, the couple returned to Shawnee, where Bovee graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1950. He worked as a partner in Penn Drilling Co.

He and his family moved to Norman in 1959, and he joined the civil service as a supervisory accountant at Tinker Air Force Base.

Upon retiring in 1981, he and his wife moved to Oregon, where they lived in Eugene, Keizer and Salem. He attended the First Presbyterian Church of Salem.

An infant brother, Glen Harold Bovee, and one brother, Kenneth E. Bovee preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Betty, of Salem; sister, Reta Eunice Henderson of Norman; sons and a daughter-in-law, Timothy Keith Bovee of Herndon, Va., and Douglas Alan and Nancy Bovee of Salem; grandchildren, Hiroyuki Nicholas Bovee of Miyazaki, Japan, Kirsten Michelle Bovee and her fiancé, Jake Blaufass, of Missoula, Mont., and Katherine Elizabeth Bovee and her husband, Philippe Blanc, of Portland, Ore.

Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Tulsa. Arrangements are under the direction of Restlawn Funeral Home of Salem, Ore. Memorials may be made to Willamette Valley Hospice, 2700 Market St. NE, Salem OR 97301.

Lena Omelia Webb
Former Midwest City resident Lena Omelia (Levisay) Webb, 74, died Saturday, Jan. 1, in Canyon, Texas.

Survivors include two daughters, Lois Shuman and husband Dan of Canyon, Texas, and Gay Joseph and husband Mike of Oklahoma City; stepson, Phil Webb and wife Connie of Springfield, Mo.; stepdaughter, Mary Kenley and husband Dave of Chandler, Ariz.; two brothers, Claude Levisay and Leo Levisay both of Meeker; sister Pearle Kinnear of Pawnee; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Westminster Road Baptist Church in Nicoma Park with the Rev. David Brinkley and the Rev. Leo Allard officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Garden in Oklahoma City under the direction of Resthaven Memorial Garden of Oklahoma City.

Marland G. Clement
Marland G. "Clancy" Clement, 72, Shawnee, died Thursday, Feb. 3, at a local hospital.

He was born Aug. 25, 1932, in Baraboo, Wis., to Norris and Irma (Brooks) Clement. He graduated from Carroll College in Waukasha, Wis.

He married Donna Goecke on June 11, 1955, in Milwaukee, Wis.

He was an engineer at Allen-Bradley Corp. for 30 years and worked at Shawnee Bowl until he retired in 2002. He had moved to Shawnee in 1976 and owned Shawnee Marine from 1986 to 1991. He was secretary of the Shawnee Men's Bowling Association for 10 years.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the church choir.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife.

Survivors are two daughters and sons-in-law, Suzanne and Carl Mellinger of Shawnee, Karen and Alan Baker of Nashville, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Michael Craft, Robert Mellinger, both of Shawnee; Matthew Baker of Nashville, Tenn.; Savannah Baker, of Cookville, Tenn.; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Roger Reed, Malverne, Penn., and many other relatives.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Karen Fowler-Lindemulder officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Joyce Kenneth Landrum
Joyce Kenneth Landrum, 75, died Saturday, Feb. 5. Arrangements are pending with Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Prague.

Christeen F. McGee
Carney resident Christeen F. McGee, 80, died Saturday, Feb. 5. Arrangements are pending with Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Chandler.

J. Wendell Blackketter
Former Shawnee resident, J. Wendell Blackketter, 87, Tulsa, died Thursday, Feb. 3, at a Tulsa hospital.

Family visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Gaskill Funeral Home, Shawnee. Service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Gaskill Funeral Chapel.

Ruby Hays Clay
Ruby Hays Clay died Thursday, Feb. 3, at her home in Shawnee at the age of 100.

She was born Jan. 30, 1905, in Kingsland, Ark., the daughter of Charles and Jennie Hays. She was active at the state and national level of the PTA, was a member of First Baptist Church and taught Bible classes.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a daughter, Jennie McLauglin; son-in-law, Dr. Bob McLaughlin, and sister, Willie Landrum.

Surviving are three grandchildren, Terri Allen and her husband, Jay, of Rogers, Ark.; Kathy Stuart and her husband, Jim, of Shawnee; Clay McLaughlin and his wife, Susan, of Shawnee; 10 great-grandchildren, Dane Williams, Jami and Zack Allen; Emily, Rachel and Sarah Stuart; Jordan, Katelyn, Bethanie and Abigail McLaughlin.

Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Gaskill Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Music Ministry, P.O. Box 1928, Shawnee OK 74802.

Rex H. Madeira Jr.
Rex H. Madeira Jr., 89, died Friday, Feb. 4, at a Shawnee hospital.

Service will be noon Friday, Feb. 11, at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel in Tulsa. Arrangements are under the direction of Liginbuel Funeral Home, Vinita.

Jessie Mercenie Eckert
Asher resident Jessie Mercenie Eckert, 98, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, at a Purcell hospital.

She was born Sept. 4, 1906, in Bryan County to Jessie McFarland and Mercenie Emerline Speers.

She attended school at Rock Springs in Caney.

On Nov. 2, 1931, she married Edward Lewis Eckert in Bryan County. He preceded her in death in 1958.

Eckert has lived in the Asher area for the past 28 years. Previously, she lived in Purcell.

She was a homemaker until her husband's death. She then went to work in Asher as cook and waitress.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; twin brother, Joseph Lessie Speers and his wife, Elnora Ruth; niece, Patricia Hale; seven brothers, John, Bill, Mack, Frank, Abnor, Albert and Thomas; and sister, Mary Cravens.

Survivors include her nephew, Billy Ed Speers and wife Gwen of Midwest City; nieces, Lessie Lee Holt and husband Bruce of Asher, Mary Kathryn Johnson and husband Glen of Broken Arrow, Naomi Ruth Culp and husband Bob of Newcastle, Barbara Jane Fowler and husband Darl of Asher and Linda Sue Coker and husband Jack of Asher; and numerous other nieces; nephews; great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Asher First Baptist Church. Burial will be at Wanette Cemetery.

Wadley's Funeral Service in Purcell is directing arrangements.

Martha Rose Pitts
Seminole resident Martha Rose Pitts, 72, died Monday, Jan. 31, in Seminole.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole with the Rev. Roy Robertson officiating.

Swearingen Funeral Home is directing arrangements.

Georgia Belle Wellborn
Meeker resident Georgia Belle Welborn, 75, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, in Oklahoma City.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Meeker, Children's Fund or Building Fund.

Service is pending with Walker Funeral Service.

J.R. Richardson Jr.
Pauls Valley resident J.R. "Punch" Richardson Jr., 85, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, in Pauls Valley.

Service will be 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church of Pauls Valley with the Rev. Dr. Joe Elam officiating. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home is directing arrangements.

Clara Lee Rosson
Shawnee resident Clara Lee Rosson, 86, died Saturday, Jan. 8, in Shawnee.

She was born Dec. 25, 1918, to John Henderson and Nora (Cates) Henderson in Duke.

In 1935, she married George "Buck" Rosson in Kingfisher. In 1946, they moved to Shawnee and have lived here since.

She worked for Montgomery Wards, the Shawnee School system and was a homemaker. She was a member of Community of Christ Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1995, one sister, Juanita Stroud, and one brother, John "Manny" Henderson.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Jackie Rosson of Longview, Texas, and Bob and Brenda Rosson of Shawnee; grandchildren, Donna Westmoreland and husband Jimmie of Gladewater, Texas, Jason, Aaron and Joseph Rosson of Shawnee; and two great-grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m. today at Resthaven Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Higgins officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Sherry Bailey
Shawnee resident Sherry Bailey, 50, died Monday, Jan. 3, in Shawnee.

Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Resthaven Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Scott Gordon officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Kenneth R. Kinsey
Kenneth R. Kinsey, 78, died Saturday, Feb. 5, in Tecumseh.

He was born Aug. 16, 1926, in Milburn, Okla., the son of Robert Milton and Emma Irene (Overstreet) Kinsey.

He graduated from Norman High School in 1943 and was a longtime resident of Pottawatomie County.

He married Jackie White in Shawnee on Feb. 17, 1947. She preceded him in death on Nov. 23, 2004.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in Germany. He worked as a cement contractor and was the local business agent for Cement Mason and Plasterers Union, Local 272.

He was a 37-year member of AA and a member of the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church.

He also was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Kinsey; his parents; granddaughter, Tamara Kinsey; brother, Bobby Kinsey, and sister, Norma Jean Kinsey.

Survivors are three sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Sandie Kinsey of Tecumseh, Steve and Judy Kinsey of Tecumseh, Tim and Annette Kinsey of Branford, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Chris Charvat, Travis Kinsey, Elizabeth Kinsey, Tina Glasgow, Brian Kinsey, Michelle Kinsey, Curtis Kinsey and Vanessa Kinsey; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred York of Little Axe and Patsy Meyer of Norman; brother, Jerry Kinsey of Pink; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jeannie and Pete Laughlin of Bryan, Texas, and many other family members.

Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Cooper Funeral Home Chapel in Tecumseh. Elder Jerry Cotrell will officiate and burial will follow at Brown Cemetery.

Harvey Lee Riggin
Harvey Lee Riggin, 48, of Tecumseh died Thursday, Feb. 3, in a local nursing home

Survivors include a close friend, Judy McDonald of Tecumseh; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles Dewayne and Linda Riggin and Jerrell Wesley and Pam Riggin, all of Shawnee; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patsy Ann and Danny Reeves of Shawnee, Carolyn Sue Riggin, Anna Mae Meeks, Mary Louise and Mike Field of Porter, Gnevive Riggin, Maureen and Ronnie Harris of Tecumseh; one uncle, Alford Henry of El Reno, and several nieces and nephews.

No funeral is scheduled at this time.

Alberta Greenwood
Alberta "Bert" Greenwood, 83, Shawnee, died Thursday, Feb. 3, in Shawnee.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Earlsboro Cemetery. Other information will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
