ROSE MARY DELAGARZA
JAY, Okla. - Rose Mary Delagarza, age 76, died at her home in Jay on Monday, April 30, 2001 after a sudden illness. The daughter of James W. and Mary (Colston) Ramsey, she was born on September 2, 1925 in Ochelata, Okla. Rose moved to Jay from Gravette, Ark. In Jay she worked as a cook for C and C Cafe and Buddy's Foods. She also worked for the chicken plant in Decatur, Ark.
She is survived by eight children, Charles Colston, Jacqueline Hipp, Laura Rader, Paula Fisher, Susie DeMoss, Mickey Earl McPhertrage, Lenora Foster and James Wilbur Allen; 23 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
No services are planned. The arrangements are with the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, Okla.

BRINK EDWARD DEMINGS, JR.
GROVE - Brink E. Demings, Jr., died Wednesday, July 4, 2001 at his home after a lengthy illness. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Carthage, Mo. Pastor James Schnackenberg and Pastor Leo Schroeder will be officiating.
Brink was born on March 12, 1923 in Carthage, Mo., to Brink E. and Eliza Koller Demings, Sr. He married Charlene "Corky" Podszus on December 23, 1961. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II in the South Pacific. Mr. Demings was a machinist and worked for Howard's Machine Shop for 20 years. He had also owned Demings Oil Company and Corky's Bait Shops. He was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Carthage, Mo., and the Channel Hoppers CB Radio Club (Shuckleberry Hound). His hobbies were fishing, woodworking, and church work.
Surviving is his wife, Corky, of Grove. Mr. Demings was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gordon M. Demings.
Memorials may be made to Corky Demings for Good Shepherd Hospice, 25540 S. 607 Road, Grove, OK 74344.
Services are entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home, 107 S. Broadway, Grove, 918-786-5172.

JACK DENT
GROVE - Jack C. Dent, age 76, Grove, passed away at 7:35 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2001 at Freeman Hospital, where he had been a patient since May 19. Mr. Dent was born June 20, 1924 in Joplin and was a lifetime resident until he retired and moved to King Point, Grand Lake of the Cherokees, Grove. A meatcutter all of his working life, he retired in 1981 from Southtown Meat Company in Joplin with 20 years of service. He was a member of the Meat Cutters Union. He was a former member of the Traveler's Protection Association, and the Elk's Lodge #2715, Grove. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Grove. He retired as a master sergeant with the United States Army, having served 42 months in Germany during World War II. He married Doris Kelley on January 1, 1947 in Columbus, Kan.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Kelley, of the home; three daughters, Kathy Abernathy and her husband, Phil, of Springfield, Mo., Tammy LaFleur, Joplin, Mo., and Kelley Jeffries, and her husband, Garry, Webb City, Okla.; one sister, Donna Marie Millard, Seneca, Mo.; nine grandchildren, Doug Stockam, Mindy Neilson, Ryan Abernathy, Tosha LaFleur, Amber LaFleur, Amanda Jeffries, Abby Jeffries, Jordan Jeffries, Chelsie Jeffries; six great-grandchildren, and his first cousin, Harold Hutchison, Joplin, Mo. Mr. Dent was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Michael LaFleur, December 3, 2000.
Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Randy Coffin will officiate. Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Doug Stockam, Ryan Abernathy, John Nielson, Jim Bales, Bob Thorneberry, and Dean Coons. The family will receive friends from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Parker Mortuary Chapel, and will be at the home in Grove Thursday afternoon.

VONA MAY WILSON DREIER
FAIRLAND, Okla. - Vona May Wilson Dreier died at 4:45 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2001 at the Family Care Center, Fairland, after a long illness. She was 96. Mrs. Dreier was born May 24, 1905 at Iola, Kan., and came to this area as a small child with her parents Charley T. and Nellie Catherine (Bowman) Norris. She had worked for the former Patterson Garment Factory in Miami in the cutting room working on the Folding Machine and as a seamstress in the pocket dept. She was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Rebekah Lodge and the Ladies Encampment, and the A.A.R.P. She married William Elbert Wilson in 1942 at Columbus, Kan. He preceded her in death in 1967. She later married Mike Dreier in 1970 at Carthage, Mo., and he preceded her in death in 1973. Mrs. Dreier was a member of the First Christian Church, Carthage.
Survivors include: two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Powers and Mrs. Wilda Hampton, Fairland, and a brother, Lyford Norris, Fairland. Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, at the First Baptist Church, Fairland, with Rev. Andy Krebs officiating. Burial will follow in the G.A.R. Cemetery, Miami, under the direction of the Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home of Fairland.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Bowen, Lynn Bowen, Scottie Bennett, Elmer Dugan, Eddie Hudspeth, and Beau Stratton. The family will receive friends at the Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home, Fairland, from 7 until 8 p.m. Monday. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association and may be sent in care of the funeral home.

ANNABELL DRENNAN
JAY, Okla. - Annabell Drennan, 76, died April 16, 2001 in the Monroe Manor Nursing Home in Jay after a long illness. The daughter of Charlie Hughes and Lizzie O'Field Hughes, she was born on April 30, 1924 in Delaware County, Okla.
She was a member of the Piney Baptist Church.
She is survived by two brothers, Johnson Jones and Dave Jones, both of Jay, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral was at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, in the Piney Baptist Church. The interment followed at O'Field Cemetery under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay.

HAROLD H. "BOOSTS" DRY
AFTON, Okla. - Harold H. "Boosts" Dry, Afton, died at Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami, Thursday, June 21, 2001, after a lengthy illness. He was 84. Mr. Dry was born at Fairland to Eli and Daisy Miller Dry on October 13, 1916. He was a veteran, having served in the Army-Air Corps, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a salesman for John Morrell and Company. He moved to Afton in 1978, coming from Dewey. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He married Ione Cunningham at Miami on March 4, 1945.
He is survived by his wife Ione Cunningham of the home; a son, Jim, and wife, Marylyn Dry, of Claremore; a sister, Willa Doty, of Miami; three grandchildren and eight-grandchildren. The body has been cremated.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 23, at Trinity Baptist Church, with Rev. Clyde Stilley officiating. The family has requested no flowers, but donations can be made to the Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund. Arrangements provided by Adcock Funeral Home of Afton.

EDITH DUFF
GROVE - Edith Duff, 85, of Grove, died Tuesday, July 10, 2001 at Hillcrest Specialty Hospital in south Tulsa. Mrs. Duff was born January 25, 1916 in Miami, Okla., to Warren W. Woodard and Grace (Clark) Woodard. She has lived in the northeast Okla. area all of her life. She was married to Mr. Earl Duff, he preceded her in death in 1992. Her parents, two brothers, Willard Woodard, and W.W. (Pete) Woodard and his wife, Ruth, and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Duff, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Duff was a retired Craig County Tag Agent having served from 1968 to 1986. She and Mr. Duff had owned grocery stores in the Picher area, and motels in the Miami and Vinita area. She enjoyed flower gardening, was an avid reader, and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and extended family. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Grove.
Survivors are: two sons, W.E. Duff of Norman, and David Duff of Grove; grandchildren's mother, Lola Bogard and husband, Charles, of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Pam Ezzel and husband, Hal, of Norman, W.E. Duff IV, of San Diego, Calif., Kerri Geer and husband, Jason, of Grove, and Erin Duff of Joplin, Mo.; great grandson, William Ezzel of Norman; two brothers, Tommy Woodward and wife, Ivy, of Grove, and Bob Woodard and wife, Beverly, of San Diego, Calif., and many other special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 13, in the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home, Commerce. Rev. Randy Hamill of the First United Methodist in Grove will officiate. Burial will be in the G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, under the direction of the Guilford-Thomas Home, Commerce.

VIRGINIA ELIZABETH DUGGAN
JAY, Okla. - Virginia Elizabeth Duggan, 80, of Jay, passed away on June 13, 2001 at the home of her daughter in Jay. She was born October 11, 1920, in Fort Worth, Texas, to O.G. and Inez Sanders. Virginia was married to Clifton D. Duggan on April 12, 1941 in Brownwood, Texas. They were married for 58 years at the time of his death on October 1, 1999. Mrs. Duggan retired in 1984 as a nurse at Gravette Medical Center, having enjoyed a long career in nursing.
She is survived by her three children; daughter and son-in-law Beverly and Noel Jacoby of Lake, City, Fla., son and daughter-in-law Mike and Pat Duggan of Diamond, Mo., and daughter and son-in-law Ginnie and Sonny Barehead of Jay. Additionally, she has 14 grandchildren, three of who preceded her in death, and f15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 15, at 7 p.m. at Worley-Luginbuel funeral home in Jay. Funeral services will also be at Worley-Luginbuel in Jay on Saturday, June 16, at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Duffield Cemetery, Jay.

CATHERINE BLANCH COLE DUNN
GROVE - Catherine Blanch Cole Dunn of Grove died Sunday, April 8, 2001 at the Grand Lake Villa Nursing Home in Grove. She was 91. Mrs. Dunn was born December 3, 1909 in Kansas. She worked in clothing sales at Peters Dry Goods at Dewey, Okla. and Anthony's Clothing Store in Bartlesville, Okla. After her first husband, Robert Cole, preceded her in death in 1970, she married J.D. Dunn in 1972. He preceded her in death in 1982. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Grove. One son, Robert Eugene Cole, died in 1983.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Vaughn and Keith Cole, both of Dewey, Okla.; one daughter-in-law, Louise Cole of Grove; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, at the First United Methodist Church in Grove. Rev. Randy Hamill to officiate. Interment will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville. Donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund. Friends and family may view Mrs. Dunn at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

HENRY CLAYTON DUNN
MIAMI, Okla. - Henry Clayton Dunn, 87, of Miami, Okla., died Wednesday, October 10, at Integris Baptist Hospital in Miami. Mr. Dunn was born January 6, 1914 in Troy, Ala., to Joseph Irving and Julie (Richardson) Dunn. He has lived in Miami the past 45 years, moving here from Tulsa, Okla.
Mr. Dunn was a retired truck driver for Consolidated Freight, he retired in 1971 after 27 years. He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Miami, and was also a member of the Teamsters Union, the National Rife Association, was an avid fisherman and gardener, and loved his children and grandchildren. Mr. Dunn married Mable Harp in Black, Ala., on November 13, 1944.
He is survived by his wife, Mable Harp, of the home; son, Joe Dunn, of Muskogee, Okla.; daughter, Diana Sue Bourgeois, of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Jarrod and Annie Bourgeois and Max Dunn. A son, Henry Michael Dunn, preceded him in death in 1972. He was also preceded by a brother and two sisters.
Services will be held Friday, October 12, at 2 p.m. at the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home Chapel, Miami. Burial will be in the G.A.R. Cemetery under the direction of the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home, Miami. The family visitation will be Thursday, October, 11, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home, Miami.

PHYLLIS CAROLYN DUNN
GROVE - Phyllis Carolyn Dunn, 70, died Friday, September 14, 2001 at her home in Grove. The first memorial service was held at 10 a.m Monday, September 17, at the First United Methodist Church, Grove, with Pastor Randy Hamill officiating. The second will be Friday, September 21, at 10 a.m. at Haysville United Methodist Church with Dr. Will Glaser officiating.
Phyllis Dunn was born on October 19, 1930 in Fort Smith, Ark., to Albert J. and Bonnie (Robinson) Hall. She married Fred Dunn in Van Buren, Ark., on September 25, 1949. Mrs. Dunn worked as a secretary for Vulcan Chemical Company in Wichita, Kan., for over 20 years before her retirement in 1991. She and her husband lived in Wichita for six years prior to moving to Haysville, Kan., where they lived for 34 years. They moved to the Grove area in January, 1993. Mrs. Dunn was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Friends of Haysville Library, and the Humane Society of Grove and Grand Lake.
Survivors are: her husband, Fred, of the home; three sons, David Dunn and wife, Wanda, of Haysville, Kan., Jeff Dunn and wife, Robin, of Mulvane, Kan., and Mike Dunn and wife, Shirley, of Mulvane; one daughter, Becky Dunn, of Derby, Kan.; two brothers, Jim Hall, of Maryville, Tenn., and Larry Hall, of Claremore, Okla.; three sisters, Nancy Chaconas, of Van Buren, Ark., Frances Kenyon, of Tulsa, and Pat Edwards, of Wichita, Kan., and eight grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Music Memorial Fund at the First United Methodist Church, Grove, the Building Fund at Haysville United Methodist Church, Haysville, Kan., or the Humane Society of Grove and Grand Lake.
Services are entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home, Grove.

MATHELDE (MICKEY) DYER
GROVE - Mrs. Mathelde (Mickey) Dyer, 85, of Grove, died Thursday, July 26, 2001 at Integris Grove General Hospital in Grove after an illness. Mrs. Dyer was born July 4, 1916 in Pittsburg, Kan., to Stephen and Maude Coraray. She lived in Tulsa most of her life. She married James W. Dyer in 1985 in Las Vegas, Nev. He survives of the home.
Survivors are: daughter and son-in-law Carroll and Gerald Golden, of Big Sandy, Texas, daughter and son-in-law Joane and Pete Jones of Bend, Ore.; son, Michael Nichols of Conroe, Texas; six grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Mrs. Dyer donated her body to the Anatomical Science Dept. in Oklahoma City. An informal memorial service was held at the Grove Elks Lodge at 11 a.m. Monday, July 30.
Memorials or contributions may be made to Good Shepard Hospice of Grove in lieu of flowers.

GOLDIE MAE (DAVIS) DYKES
JAY, Okla. - Goldie Mae (Davis) Dykes of Route, 2, Jay, passed away from this life on April 18, 2001 at Monroe Manor Nursing Home in Jay at the age of 98 years, six months, two days. She was born on October 16, 1902 to William W. and Mary Mollie (Ware) Davis at Cricket Creek near Omaha, Ark. Raised in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains, Goldie attended Ziegler School. She was united in marriage to Esby Benton Bykes on January 20, 1920 at Omaha, Ark. Four children were born to this union, Leona Hazel, Leon Harold (Buddy), Mary Lou and Helen Virginia Dykes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Esby, parents, one brother, four sisters, one daughter, Leona H. Reno, one son, Buddy Dykes, and one grandson, Dr. Ben Netherton.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Lou Dunaway of Jay, and Helen V. and her husband, Rex Netherton, of Miami, Okla.; one sister, Fanny Scaggs of Harrison, Ark.; 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
Goldie and her husband Esby moved from Omaha, Ark. to Lawton, Okla. in 1926, near Picher-Cardin, Okla. Later they moved to Kenwood, Okla., Eucha, Okla. and settled in Jay for the last 50 years of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jay. Goldie was a dedicated homemaker/farmer. In her later years, she turned her attention to making quilts for all of her family members and close friends. One of her most enjoyable memories was her first airplane trip to the State of Alaska with her two daughters. Also the trips to Bogan Flats in Colorado and catching trout were very enjoyable.
The funeral will be at 2:00 April 20 at the First Baptist Church in Jay, officiated by Rev. Ed McFall, with interment in the family plot at the Eucha, Okla. cemeteryunder the directions of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay. Pallbearers are Jack Herring (Jr.) Billy V. Hughes, Richard Brown, Joe Mills, Bryan Gordon and Jeremy Reno. Honorary pallbearers are very special grandsons, Mike Mills, Jack Robertson, Bill Reno, Jim Reno, Tim Reno and Don Reno.
