CHARLES L. HARLESS
GROVE - Charles L. Harless of Grove died Saturday, April 7, 2001 at this home after a long illness. He was 66. Mr. Harless was born July 2, 1934 to Ruffus and Lorena Moore Harless at Siloam Springs, Ark. He worked for American Airlines in Tulsa for 37 years, starting as a junior mechanic then worked his way to management. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Eastgate #543, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, a 32nd degree Mason, all of Tulsa.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Harless, of Grove; one son, Steve Harless; daughter, Dana Ezell of Joplin, Mo.; daughter, Lou Ann Pfeifer of Houston, Texas; four sisters, Florene Nuckolls of Claremore, Okla., Mary Williams of Medicine Lodge, Kan., Sue Stogsdill of Grove and Shirley Marsh of Claremore; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 11, at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove. Rev. Mark Lynn to officiate. Interment will be at the Buzzard Cemetery in Grove.

ETHEL HARRIS
BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - Graveside services for Ethel F. Harris have been scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, August 3, 2001 at Floral Haven Memorial Garden Cemetery in Broken Arrow. Rev. Mike Cooper will officiate under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home.
Ethel F. Harris was born December 1, 1903 at Juniper, Ga., the daughter of Andrew and Dora (Leach) Ramsy. She died Monday, July 30, at Grove General Hospital in Grove. She was 97 years of age.
The former Miss Ethel Florence Ramsey was married to Carl Luther Harris, who preceded her in death. Ethel was a long time employee of Broken Arrow Hospital and the Broken Arrow Nursing Home. She moved from Broken Arrow in 1992 to Monkey Island on Grand Lake. She liked to sew and was a member of Good Neighbors. In lieu of flowers please donate to her favorite charity, Meals on Wheels, 1800 S. Main, Broken Arrow, OK 74012.
Survivors are: one sister, Elizabeth Graham, Tampa, Fla., two sons, Oscar and wife, Cleora Harris, Monkey Island, and Orin and wife, Shirley Harris, Tyler, Texas; daughter-in-law Mary Lee Harris, Tulsa; six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Luther Harris; son, Carl Luther, Jr.; daughter, Geraldine "Jerry" Nill; niece, Bobbie Graham; and three grandchildren, Mike Nill, Elizabeth Stephenson and Earline Nill.

JAY C. HARRIS
AFTON, Okla. - Jay C. Harris died Wednesday, October 24, 2001 at Sayre Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness. He was 60. He was born December 28, 1940 at Coweta, Okla., to Reuben and Rhada McCracken Harris. He worked as a truck driver for the Leggett and Platt Company out of Carthage. He married Sharon Long on December 24, 1959 at Miami. He moved to Afton from Tulsa in 1997. He was a member of the Trinity Southern Baptist Church of Afton.
He is survived by: his wife, Sharon; a daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Steve Mushrush, Tulsa; a brother, Donald J. Harris, Haskell, Okla.; Geraline Backman, Atwater, Calf.; and Jerry Lamb, Tulsa; and four grandchildren, Kelli, Jennifer, Jeff, and Michael Mushrush. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Harris, in 1980.
The funeral service was at 1 p.m. Monday, October 29, at Trinity Southern Baptist Church of Afton with Rev. Wendell Brown and Rev. Tony Randol officiating. Pallbearers were Chester McBride, Brian Arterburn, Brian Gibson, Charles Gibson, David Dillingham, and Henry Frellick. Burial followed at Glen Abbey Cemetery in Miami.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home. Arrangements provided by Adcock Funeral Home of Afton.

BESS RUTH HART
GROVE - Bess Ruth (Roughton) Hart, born March 20, 1914, died Wednesday, September 19, 2001 at the age of 87. She was the youngest child of Thomas and Lettie (McKissick) Roughton. A lifelong resident of Delaware County, she attended school at Minnehaha and Colcord High, where she graduated in 1933. A firm believer in education, she received a teaching degree from Northeastern State Teacher's College in Tahlequah. After receiving her degree, she spent 10 years teaching the children at Row, Long Prairie, Beaver, and other communities in the Colcord area. She retired in 1978 after 33 years of employment for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Hart (1968), brother, Henry Roughton (1985), sisters, Willa Etris (1987), Mary Jarvis (1990), and Polly Cannon (1995).
Survivors are: her son, Donald Hart and wife, Sharon, of Grove; daughter, Sara Woodfin and husband, Tom, of Tulsa; granddaughters, Alayna London and Jennifer Hart, both of Tulsa; grandsons, John Cloud and family of Chetopa, Kan., Scott Cloud and family of Hopkinsville, Ken., and Chris Cloud and family of Tyler, Texas.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, September 22, at the Southside Church of Christ in Jay, with Steve Stenzel and Bill Richardson officiating. Interment will be at the Duffield Cemetery in Jay. The services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

IRENE IRESON HARTLEY-LARSON
VINITA, Okla. - Irene Ireson Hartley-Larson, 99, of Vinita, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2001 at Craig General Hospital. Irene was born January 6, 1902 at Stockton, Mo., to Robert E. and Inez (Cowan) Ireson. She graduated from Stockton High School and Missouri University at Columbia. Mrs. Larson taught high school mathematics at Stockton and Richards, Mo., Fort Scott, Kan., Centralia, Okla., and 22 years at Aurora, Mo. She married Thomas H. (Jot) Hartley, September 2, 1926. He preceded her in death June of 1943. She married Dr. Howard Larson of Aurora, Mo., in 1952. He preceded her in death in 1976. Mrs. Larson was a charter member and past regent of the Elkhorn Chapter of Daughters of American Revolution and International "Who's Who" of Geneva Switzerland. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and a 75-year member of Eastern Star.
Survivors are: a son and daughter-in-law, Robert I. and Jane Hartley, of Vinita; three grandchildren, Thomas Jot Hartley and wife, Renee, Clay Everett Hartley and Robert Edward Hartley, all of Vinita, and three great grandchildren, Travis, Jimmy and Lindsay Hartley, all of Vinita.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 4, at the Pilgrim Presbyterian Church of Vinita. Dr. Henry Haynes will officiate. Graveside rites will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Stockton City Cemetery in Stockton, Mo.
Serving as pallbearers will be Travis Hartley, Jimmy Hartley, A. Clark Montgomery, Richard Montgomery, Jot Hartley, and Clay Hartley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clark I. Montgomery, Scott Montgomery, John Mahoney, Ted Christian, and Bobby Hartley.
Services are entrusted to the Burckhalter Funeral Home.

LILLIAN BERTHA (HAUSER) KAISER HAYES
GROVE - Lillian Bertha (Hauser) Kaiser Hayes, 93, died at her home Monday, July 23, 2001. Lillian was born in Conway Springs, Kan., to Karl Hauser and Edith Miles February 11, 1908. Lillian attended school in Douglas, Okla., and learned to farm with her parents near Covington. Lillian met Fredrick Kaiser and the couple were united in marriage in 1926. They moved to Redrock, Okla., where they farmed and in 1940 moved to Newkirk, Okla., where they farmed until Fred's death in 1971. Lillian moved to Ponca City and became a member of the First Christian Church where she met Earl Hayes. The couple were united in marriage and moved to Enid, where they lived until Earl's passing in 1985. Lillian later moved to Grove with her daughter and attended the First Christian Church.
Lillian is preceded in death by her husbands, Fredrick Kaiser and Earl Hayes, two sisters, and one brother.
Surviving are: two daughters, Fredia and Don Fadely of Grove, and Gladys Cororay of Hominy, Okla.; six grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
Services for Lillian will be Thursday, July 26, 11 a.m. at the First Christian Church of Grove, and graveside services will be Friday, July 27, at 10 a.m. at Newkirk Cemetery in Newkirk.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the First Christian Church, Grove. Services are under the direction of Turner Funeral Chapel, Grove.

JODY HAYWORTH
WESTVILLE, Okla. - Funeral services for Jody Hayworth were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2001 at the Johnson Cemetery, West Siloam Springs, Okla., with Rev. John Crowley officiating. Services were under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Westville.
Jody Hayworth was born May 9, 2001 in Grove to Joey Dewayne and Lena (Ellis) Hayworth. She departed this life July 10 in Siloam Springs, Ark., at the age of two months and one day.
She is survived by her parents, Joey and Lena Hayworth; three sisters, Stacie, Minny Joe, and Jolena, all of Colcord; her grandparents, Buddy and Nina Johnson of Colcord, and Billy and Anita Ellis of Baron; several aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends.

CATHRYNE ANN HEATON
FAIRLAND, Okla. - Cathryne Ann Heaton, 60, died Thursday, October 4, 2001 at Grove General Hospital. Services were at 10 a.m. Monday, October 8, at Ellis Family Funeral Home Chapel, Grove. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery, Afton.
Cathryne Heaton was born on September 8, 1941 in Canton, Miss., to Kenneth and Helen (Lobaugh) Fowler. She was married to Merton Heaton. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Heaton moved to the Miami area in 1965 working as a Lab and X-ray Technician at the Bradshaw Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Trinity Southern Baptist Church, Afton.
Survivors include: one daughter, Georgia Stogsdill and husband, Jake, of Rochester, Minn.; one sister, Anita Fowler, Fairland; two granddaughters, Nicholle and Kaitlyn Stogsdill, and one grand son, Dylan Stogsdill, all of Rochester, Minn. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Red Cross. Services were entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home, 107 S. Broadway, Grove, 918-786-5172.

ALLEN L. HEDSTRAND
MIAMI, Okla. - Allen L. Hedstrand, 73, of Miami, died Saturday, April 28, 2001 at St. Johns Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo. after an illness. Mr. Hedstrand was born October 25, 1927 in Warren, Pa. to Alfred Nathaniel and Cora Mae (Crippen) Hedstrand. He has lived in Miami since 1984, moving here from Huntington Beach, Calif. He was a retired tool and die maker for the Baz Houston Tool & Die Co. and of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Hedstrand married Linda Golden in 1964 at Maywood, Calif. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include one son, Jeff Hedstrand, of Miami; six daughters, Linda Almquist and Cindy Robbins of Westminster, Calif., Kathy Rocha of Fountain Valley, Calif., Cheryl Benton of Miami, Donna Beehler of Fairland, and Sandra Stephenson of Monkey Island; one sister, Louise Golden of Warren, Pa.; two sons-in-law, Joe Moore of Westminster, Calif., and Bill Burris of Miami; 22 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Two daughters, Joy Moore and Brenda Burris, preceded him in death.
Memorial services will be held in the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home in Miami at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 2. Pastor Royce Hutson will officiate. A private family burial will take place in the Ottawa Indian Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home in Miami.

ALEXIS G. HEMBREE
NEOSHO, Okla. - Alexis G. Hembree, five-months-old, died at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2001 after an illness since birth. She was born on March 9 to Timothy Wayne and Tara L. (Fischer) Hembree in Joplin.
Survivors are: maternal grandparents, Coral and Randy Haggard of Neosho, Mo.; paternal grandparents, Doug and Brenda Bridges of Neosho, Mo., and Frank and Karen Hembree of Baxter Springs, Kan.; maternal great grandparents, Carl and Wilma Handshy of Columbus, Kan., Raymond and Marjorie Haggard, of Neosho, Mo., and Earl and Helen Fischer, of Harlan, Iowa; paternal great grandparents, Claude and Mary Hamilton of Wyandotte, Okla., Elnora Childress of Neosho, Mo., and Fred and Della Bridges of Neosho, Mo.
Graveside services were at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 27, at the New Salem Cemetery, West of Neosho, Mo. The casket will be closed at all times.
The family requests that memorial contribution in Alexis' memory be made to the Alexis Hembree Memorial Fund to help defray doctor and hospital expenses. Contributions may be sent c/o Clark Funeral Home, P.O. Box 66, Neosho, MO 64850.

MARY ANN HENDRICKS
GLENPOOL, Okla. - Mary Ann Hendricks, 76, passed away October 12, 2001 at the Glenpool Nursing Center in Glenpool, Okla. Mary was born December 3, 1924 to Elmer Julius Schmidt and Mildred Smith Schmidt in Lincoln, Neb. She attended elementary school in Wichita, Kan. On January 13, 1944 Mary and Melvin Hendricks were united in marriage. The couple lived in California until Melvin was discharged from the service. The couple moved to Wichita, Kan., and in 1967 moved to Afton, Okla. Mary was employed at Eastern state Hospital in Vinita, Okla., where she retired. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin, in December 1993.
She is survived by: a daughter, Patricia Ann Coffey, Adair, Okla.; one son, Michael Lawrence Hendricks, Mont.; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Monday, October 15, at Ketchum Cemetery in Ketchum, Okla. Services were under the direction of the Turner Funeral Chapel, Langley, Okla.

ARTHUR WAYNE HENSON
SPAVINAW, Okla. - Arthur Wayne Henson, 70, passed away September 12, 2001 at Grove General Hospital. Wayne was born January 31, 1931 in Spavinaw to Art Lee and Bessie Mae Conner Henson. He attended Spavinaw-Strang School and graduated in 1949. He began construction work in Tulsa for a while. On July 4, 1951 Wayne and Donna Richmond were united in marriage. The couple moved to Spavinaw in 1953. Wayne worked as a carpenter, farmer, and merchant store owner. He was a member of Adair Masonic Lodge 32 Degree Mason. He was also a member of Spavinaw Hills House of Worship. Wayne and Donna celebrated 50 years of marriage July 4. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors are: his wife, Donna, of the home; three sons, Rickey and wife, Karen, of Spavinaw, Randy and wife, Linda, of Eucha, and Rusty and wife, Daylene, of Grove; one brother, Don Henson, of Jay; one sister, Eleanor Gibe, of Jay, and seven grandchildren.
Lunch will be served before the service at the church at 12 noon for those who would like to join the family.
Services will be Saturday, September 15, 2 p.m. at the Spavinaw Hills House of Worship. Officiating will be Toby Sperry and Warren Buzzard. Interment will be at the Spavinaw-Strang cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Turner Funeral Chapel Langley.

JACK NELSON HERRING SR.
JAY, Okla. - Jack Herring, 75, died Monday, July 30, 2001 in the Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Mo. The son of Hezekiah and Erma (Hutchinson) Herring, he was born on December 22, 1925 in Cleveland, Okla. Serving in the U.S. Army, he is a veteran of WWII and Korea and is a member of the American Legion. Jack was baptized in 1955 and was currently attending Faith Mission in Jay. He worked as a plumbing contractor and owned and operated Jay Plumbing and Electric since 1965. He loved working and gardening. Jack married Wanda Joellene Hutchinson in 1954.
Survivors are: his wife, Joellene Herring, of the home; four children, Jack Nelson Herring Jr. of Jay, Martha McGee and husband, Rob, of Catoosa, Okla., Kim Spence and husband, Fred, of Jay, and Dusty Herring of Jay; one brother, Merle Herring of Jay; two sisters, Wanda Cearley and Sharon Hicks, both of Jay; four granchildren, Jessica Martin, Robin McGee, Eric Spence, and Brooke Spence.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 2, in the Jay Community Center with Reverend Chester Crittenden officiating. The interment will be in the Eucha Cemetery. There will be veteran's rites by the Grove Veteran's Ritual Team. There will be a visitation for family and friends on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. The services are under the directions of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay.

LILLIAN ADAIR HEUSER
KANSAS, Okla. - Lillian Adair Heuser, 57-year-old resident of Kansas, Okla., died Tuesday, September 4, 2001 at her home. Born January 14, 1944 in Murray, Utah, she was the daughter of Frederick Lee Heuser and Iola Adair Green Heuser. Ms. Heuser had been a resident of Kansas, Okla., for the past month, moving here from Los Angeles, Calif. She was a retired bookkeeper and affiliated with the Nazarene Church.
Survivors are: two sons, John Binam of Kansas, Okla., and Mark Binam of Elkins, Ark.; one daughter, Aeron Campbell, of Kansas, Okla.; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Fred, David, and Terry Heuser, all of Utah; four sisters, Helen Rick of Utah, and June Gregory, Diane Roberts, and Norma Frieburg, all of Montana, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, September 8, at Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs, Ark., with Pastor Sam Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in Dickson Cemetery near Cherokee City, Ark., with services under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.
