Pride

Francis Mae Pride, 95, of Altus died Dec. 30, 1999 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Everett Smalts officiating. Interment will follow at the Rock Cemetery at Duke under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

She was born July 18, 1904 in Hollis to William Nathan Hunter and Stella Velma (Landrith) Pate. She has lived in the Altus and Jackson County area for the past 27 years, moving here from San Diego, California. She was a member of the Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by two sisters Jodie Payne and Lorene Pate, both of Duke; one sister-in-law Maybelle Pate of Weatherford; a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Pyles

Dorthea B. Pyles, 84 of Altus, died Jan. 1, 2000 at the Quartz Mountain Care Center. Services are pending at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Raulston

Sherolyn Jan Raulston, 47, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today at the Church of Christ in Granite with the Rev. Arol Steverson officiating. Interment was at Granite City Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home.

Raulston was born Jan. 13, 1953, at Mangum to Willie Louis and Mary Alice Brooks Fletcher. She married Oscar Beverly Raulston on Aug. 18, 1974, in Wellington, Texas. She was a homemaker, a mother, and also worked in the health care field.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include: her husband J.R. Raulston; a son, Ronnie Wayne Raulston, Granite; brothers, Steve and his wife Cathy Fletcher of Granite and Danny Fletcher; three sisters, Alta Lou Akers, Olustee, Donna Terry of Altus and Martha Fletcher, also of Altus.

Redelsperger

James Robert (Jim Bob) Redelsperger died Sunday night. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000 at the First Baptist Church of Altus with the Rev. Keith Wiginton officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Altus Cemetery under the direction of the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

He was a graduate of Altus High School where he was active in the Future Farmers of America, all-school productions and was a manager for the Altus High football team. He was a student at Western Oklahoma State College, the National Guard and he worked for Tommy Abernathy.

Survivors include his father and mother, John and Karen Redelsperger of Altus; three brothers, Jon Paul Redelsperger of Enid, Jay Mark Redelsperger of Norman and Joe Don Redelsperger of Altus; maternal grandmother Imojean Carter, paternal grandmother, Myrl Redelsperger of Oklahoma City; a special friend Tana Yates and several aunts and uncles.

Memorials in honor of Jim Bob Redelsperger may be made to the Baptist Childrens Home through the First Baptist Church of Altus.

Reeves

Allie Mae Reeves, 83, died Thursday at an Abilene, Texas hospital. Graveside services were held today at the City of Abilene Cemetery, with the Rev. David Botterbrodt officiating. Services were under the direction of Abilene Funeral Home.

She was born in Ozark, Ark. and she moved to Abilene from Altus in 1996. She married Woodrow Wilson Reeves Aug.. 23, 1937 in Ozark, Ark. He died in 1994. She was also preceded in death by a son, Herbert Wilson Reeves who died in 1953. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Altus.

Survivors include two sons, Carol Gene Reeves of Marysville, Texas and Johnie Franklin Reeves of Abilene; two daughters, Reba Louise Waldon of Abilene and Barbara Ann Klien of Reno, Nev.; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Reid

Opal E. Reid died Saturday in Oklahoma City at the age 93. She was born July 15, 1906 in Olustee to Ernest and Trudy Eley. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church of Altus with the Rev. Barry Worcester officiating. Burial will be at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

A Jackson County resident for most of her life, she was a graduate of Altus High School and earned a bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Oklahoma. She was a retired school teacher. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Alpha Xi Sorority and P.E.O.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alton Reid; her son, Don Reid; and two brothers, Guy Eley and Ernest Eley, Jr.

Survivors by her sister, Hazel Watson of Norman; her daughter, Ronda McCoy of Oklahoma City; a grandson, Kyle McCoy of Oklahoma City; a granddaughter, Kelly Edwards; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials in Opal E. Reid's name may be made to the First Christian Church of Altus.

Richards

Graveside services for Pearl I. Richardson, 84-year old Chickasha, resident, will be Friday, Jan. 14, 2000 at 2 p.m. at the Olustee Cemetery with the Rev C.W. Ramsey officiating. Services are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home of Altus.

She was born Jan. 9, 1916 in Altus to L.C. and Carrie (Beeson) Jones. She graduated from Porter High School in 1935. She lives in Pasadena, Calif, for more than 50 years, where she worked as a secretary for different businesses. She was a member of the Baptist faith.

She died on Jan. 11, 2000 in the Grady County Memorial Hospital in Chickasha.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Joe and Fred Jones. She is survived by her sister; Dorothy Clowdus of Chickasha and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, at the Kincannon Funeral Home.

Risinger

Claude Risinger, Cache, 83, died Saturday. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Whinery-Huddleston Chapel with the Rev. John Webb and the Rev. John Morrow officiating. Burial will follow at the Cache Cemetery under the direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service of Lawton.

He was born Aug. 5, 1916, Friendship to Texie Anna and Walter J. Risinger.. He married Willis Gertrude (Mumford) Risinger at Cache June 5, 1940. He was a mechanic and foreman for Comanche County until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of the Baptist Church. His hobbies include bird hunting and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife and nine brothers and sisters.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Carrol and Betty Risinger, Sydney, Mont., three daughters and a son-in-law, Shirley and Ken Lockhart, Claudine Hill and Leona Turner all of Cache; a brother, W.J. Risinger of Altus; a sister, Thelma Harrell of Cache; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Robinson

James Wesley Robinson, 81, died Dec. 30, 1999 at Altus from complications resulting from pneumonia. Services are pending at Peoples Funeral Home in Lone Wolf. Burial will be in Iowa.

He was born Sept. 26, 1918 in Green Castle, Mo. He married Thelma Huen in 1937. He farmed before working as a tinner at Decker's Meat Packing Plant in Mason, City, Iowa. He was an avid supporter of labor unions and the working man. He retired as a field representative for the United Packing House Workers and moved to Altus in 1976.

Survivors include a son, Duane of Anchorage, Alaska; a daughter, Deloris Treloar of Altus; his sister, Reva Eide of Iowa Falls, Iowa; a special friend, Octavia Sunderland of Altus; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Donald and by four brothers and sisters.

Rollins

Mary Belle Rollins, 99-year-old resident of Artesia, New Mexico, formerly of Altus, died at her home Dec. 29, 1999. Graveside services will be Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000 at 2 p.m. in the Altus City Cemetery. Rev. Mark Sewell will officiate. Arrangements are by Kincannon Funeral Home of Altus.

Rollins was born Sept. 23, 1900 in Waxahachie, Texas to William McFielden Varnell and Olive Stephen Cook Varnell. In 1920, together with her family, she moved by wagon to the Oklahoma Territory, where they settled near Altus. Following WWI, she was united in marriage on Feb. 5, 1920 to Erbon Oliver Rollins. They made their home in Altus before moving to Oklahoam City in 1936. After her husband's death in 1954, she moved to Artesia where she has made her home since. During her lifetime she was employed in retail sales, was a licensed practical nurse, and owned and operated the Rollins Doll Hospital in Artesia. She was a member ofthe Baptist faith and was active in Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brother Wornie Varnell, sister-in-law Vollie Varnell and son-in-law John C. Ward.

She is survived by daughter Erbalene Rollins Ward of Artesia; grandson E.J. Ward and his wife Jenny of Roswell, New Mexico; great grandchildren, Lacey Ward and Josh Ward, both of Roswell; brother Judson Varnell and wife Lucille, Tulsa; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Royal

Ray Lawrence Royal, 84, Hollis died Saturday at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus. Services were held this morning at Patterson Greer Chapel in Hollis with Bob Garton officiating. Burial was at Fairmount Cemetery in Hollis under the direction of Patterson Greer Funeral Home.

Ray was born March 18, 1915, in Harmon County to Burley Ray and Katie (Harmon) Royal. He married Pearl Burch June 17, 1941. She preceded him in death March 1, 1984. He married Virginia Cain in November, 1984 in Farmers Branch, Texas. He owned and operated Ray Royal Garage in Hollis for many years in Hollis. He served in the United States Army during World War II. H was awarded the Purple Heart.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia (Cain) Royal, of Farmers Branch, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda Rae and Ron Bridges of Harrah; a daughter-in-law, Billie Jay Royal of Shawnee two brothers and a sister-in-law, Darrell and Edith Royal of Austin, Texas and Don Royal of Tipton; a step-daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and David Moore of Farmers Branch, Texas; four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and friends Lawrence and Mary Jo Beck of Hollis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Pearl; his son, Tommy Darrell Royal; in 1998; one brother, Glenn Royal; and his two sisters, Mahota White and Ruba Royal.

Shaw

Frances E. Shaw, 75, died Monday Jan. 10, 2000 at Grace Living Center in Mangum. She was born July 3, 1924 to J.A. and Pearl (Davis) Weston, near Russell, Oklahoma. She graduated from Centralvue High School, during World War II, she was employed in Long Beach, Ca. working in ship yards. She was one of the original "Rosie The Rivetors", for the war effort. She retired from North American Rockwell after 25 years as a materials records clerk. She moved to the Mangum area about 15 years ago.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, James Richard Weston, and a three-year-old daughter, Gwendolyn. She is survived by a daughter Pamela Jean Slay and her husband, Marvin of San Diego, Calif. and a sister Mildred Gable, of Mangum.

Graveside services will be Friday, Jan. 14, 2000 at 2:00 PM at Riverside Cemetery in Mangum with Eddie Beard officiating.

Shelton

Ester Fayrene Shelton, 85, Altus, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Friday at the First Assembly of God on Falcon Road with Richard Ventonis officiating. Burial will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Peoples Cooperative Funeral Home of Lone Wolf.

Shelton was born May 1, 1914, in Henderson County, Texas, to Marion and Pearl Hamill Shaver. She grew up there and married J.O. (Obie) Shelton on Oct. 7, 1931, in Henderson County. He preceded her in death May 12, 1994.

They moved to Martha in 1944, and farmed in that area until moving to Altus in 1964. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Altus.

Shelton was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, J.O. Shelton; one daughter, Peggy; two brothers, Clifford and Malcom Shaver and four sisters, Myrtle Shaver, Gertie Morman, Lucille Walker and Beatrice Cantrell.

Survivors include: two sons, Bill Shelton and his wife Rosalie, Albuquerque, N.M. and Mickey Shelton and his wife Sharron, Altus; one daughter, Nelda Ducharme, Deltona, Fla.; son-in-law, Denis Ducharme, Deltona, Fla.; one brother, Guy Shaver and his wife Sybil, Chandler, Texas; eight grandchildren, Michael Ducharme and wife Nancy, Deltona, Fla., David Ducharme and wife Donna, Altus, Debra Cobb, Deltona, Fla., Mark Ducharme, Gainesville, Fla., John Shelton, West Hollywood, Calif., Tracy Shelton and wife Alishia, Jacksonville, Fla., Liane Claiborne, Thousand Oaks, Calif. and Jana Henderson, Orange, Calif.; five great grandchildren, Becky and Mike Ducharme of Florida, Justin and Christopher Ducharme, Altus and Jessica Cobb, Altamont Springs, Fla. and one great-great grandchild, Jake Dean, Altamont Springs, Fla.
