LUCY ANN RILEY
COFFEYVILLE, Kan. - Lucy Ann Riley, 71, died Thursday morning, August 30, 2001 in her home southwest of Coffeyville. She was born November 21, 1929 at Grove to Ted and Louise Ann (Wickett) Harrington. She attended school in Grove and graduated from Miami High School in 1947. In 1947 she married Robert Garber in Columbus, Kan. Following their marriage they made their home in Miami. They were later divorced. In 1954 she married Leroy Morgan in Miami, they were later divorced. On May 15, 1973 she married Daniel J. Riley in Miami. Following their marriage they made their home southwest of Coffeyville. Mrs. Riley had worked as a legal secretary for Liebert and Liebert Law Firm from 1965 to 1983. Later that year she began working for Southeast Kansas Area Vocational Technical School where she was the Board Clerk and Office manager. She retired in 2000. Mrs. Riley was involved with the Johnson O'Malley Indian Program in the Coffeyville area where she had served as their secretary and also Title 9 Program. She was also involved with the Inter Trible Pow wow held annually in Coffeyville. She won numerous awards for cooking and sewing at the Montgomery County Fair, Coffeyville. Mrs. Riley was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Coffeyville and the Quo Vadis White Shrine #14 of Coffeyville.
Survivors are: her husband, Daniel J. Riley, of the home; six sons, Robert Garber of Haltom City, Texas, Donnie Garber of Coffeyville, Kenny Morgan of Coffeyville, Jerry Morgan, of Coffeyville, Terry Morgan of Mound Valley, Kan., and Daniel Riley, of Fayetteville, Ark; three sisters, Hilda Bartdol of Norman, Okla., Heady Womac of Medford, Ore., and Sue Brashar, of Commerce, Okla.; three brothers, Henry Gering of Commerce, Okla., Jimmie Gering of Fairland, Okla., and Clay Gering of Miami., and 12 grandchildren.
Mrs. Riley was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Richard Gering.
Funeral Services were held 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, at the First Southern Baptist Church of Coffeyville with burial Tuesday afternoon in the Butler Cemetery southeast of Grove. Friends called at the Ford-Wulf-Bruns Edgewood Chapel.

ERVIN OTTO RILEY
GENTRY, Ark. - Ervin Otto Riley, 83-year-old resident of Gentry, Ark., died Tuesday, August 28, 2001 at Veteran's Hospital in Fayetteville, Ark. Born May 23, 1918 in Hoover Township, Benton County, Ark., he was the son of Henry Otto Riley and Nora Ella Ennis Riley. A lifetime resident of Gentry, Mr. Riley was the owner and operator of West Side Body Rebuilders. He was a veteran of the United State Marines, serving during World War II. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in West Siloam Springs, Okla. His wife, Louise B. Decker Riley, preceded him in death in January 2001.
Survivors are: two sons, Alan Riley of Gentry, and David Riley of Colcord, Okla.; three daughters, Gwen Powell and her husband, Bob, of Gentry, Nila Sams and her husband, Ray, of Bentonville, and Carolyn Butts and her husband, Larry, of West Siloam Springs; 10 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one brother, Leonard Riley, of Longview, Texas; one sister, Loraine Lemke of Hayward, Calif., and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, Ark. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, August 30, at West Siloam Springs Assembly of God Church with Pastor John Butts and Pastor Dennis Jech officiating. Burial will follow in Springtown Cemetery, Springtown, Ark. Services are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark.

MYRTLE MAE ROBBINS
MIAMI, Okla. - Myrtle Mae Robbins, 99, of Miami, Okla., died Monday, September 10, 2001 at NEO Healthcare Center in Miami after an illness.
Mrs. Robbins was born June 27, 1902 in Okay, Okla., Indian Territory near Muskogee. She moved to Miami in 1917. She was a homemaker until WWII when she went to work pressing shirts for the RAF trainees and soldiers at Camp Crowder. After WWII, she worked for several Miami families as a babysitter and housekeeper.
Mrs. Robbins was a member of the American Legion Aux., VFW Aux., and the Rebekah Lodge. She was of the Southern Baptist faith.
Mrs. Robbins married Henry W. (Hank) Robbins on May 8, 1924 in Girard, Kan., he preceded her in death on February 27, 1968. A brother, Charles M. Ross, and two sisters, Ruth Wood and Dovie Green, also preceded her in death.
Survivors are: one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Jim Pees, of Miami; two grandaughters, Dr. Nancy and Ronald Coleman of Oklahoma City, and Susan K. Pees of Seattle, Wash.; four nieces, Patricia Smallwood and Beth Green, both of Tulsa, Joy Snyder, of Ponca City, and Zemeta Martin of Mesa, Ariz.; two nephews and wives, Richard and Mary Green of Cullman, Ala., and Joe and Mary Marble, of Chivington, Colo., and many great nieces and great nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, at the Williams Timberhill Cemetery west of Miami. Rev. Clyde Stilley will officiate. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home, Miami.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening at the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home, Miami.

CLYDE ELMO ROBERTS
GROVE - Clyde Elmo Roberts of Grove went to be with the Lord Thursday, July 26, 2001. He passed away at Grove General Hospital. He was 89. Clyde was born July 14, 1912 to Jess and Becky (Snell) Roberts in the Carr Community east of Grove. He was a lifetime area resident and worked as a farmer. He graduated from Grove High School. Clyde was a member of the Carr Baptist Church and led the singing at the church for many years.
One daughter, Rose Ann Roberts, preceded him in death July 28, 1999.
Survivors are: his wife, Ruby Webster Roberts, of the home; five children, Bob Roberts of Grove, Nell Youngs of Dewey, Okla., and Don Roberts, Jim Roberts, and Tom Roberts, all of Grove; 14 grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 29, at the Carr Baptist Church. Rev. Ed McFall officiated. Interment was at the Olympus Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Stephen Roberts, Brent Youngs, Jeff Roberts, Tim Roberts, Mike Roberts, Todd Roberts, Matt Roberts, Kirk Roberts, Rick Roberts, Brad Roberts, and Craig Roberts.
Services were under the direction of the Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove. .

HAZEL JUANITA ROBERTS
FAIRLAND, Okla. - Hazel Juanita Roberts of rural Fairland died Saturday, May 12, 2001 at her home after a brief illness. Mrs. Roberts was born November 29, 1919 in Chelsea, Okla. to Joseph and Pearl Ann (Hall) Barker. She has lived in the Afton-Fairland area all of her life. Mrs. Roberts married Clarence Dawson, he preceded her in death on May 28, 1968. She married Wayne Roberts on December 2, 1968 in Miami, Okla. Mrs. Roberts was the owner and operator of the Jon-Daw Beauty Salon in Afton. After her retirement she spent many hours in her garden, for she loved the flowers. She was of the Protestant faith.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Roberts, of the home; three daughters, Sandy Baker and Beckie McDougle, both of Afton, Okla., and Brenda Barnhart of Chetopa, Kansas; one sister, Ruth Slusher of Illinois; five grandchildren, and seven granddaughters. Two brothers and two sisters also preceded Mrs. Roberts in death.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 15, in the Hickory Grove Cemetery northeast of Grove under the direction of the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home Afton. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 Monday evening at the Guildford-Thomas Funeral Home in Afton.

WAYNE MORRIS ROBERTS
FAIRLAND, Okla. - Wayne Morris Roberts, 85, of rural Fairland, died Wednesday, May 16, 2001 at his home after an illness. Mr. Roberts was born March 14, 1916 in Fairland to Robert E. (Bob) and Kate (Jordan) Roberts. He has lived in the Fairland-Afton area since 1968, moving here from Cutbank, Mont. He served in the Navy during WW II and was a member of the American Legion.
Mr. Roberts married Hazel Juanita Barker on December 12, 1968 in Miami, Okla., she preceded him in death May 12, 2001. Mr. Roberts was a rancher and member of the Protestant faith.
He is survived by one son, Dexter Roberts, of Mont.; five daughters, Ann Roberts of Az., Nina Alldridge of Rigby, Idaho, Sandy Baker of Afton, Okla., Beckie McDougle of Afton, Okla., and Brenda Barnhart of Chetopa, Kan.; two brothers, Gene Roberts of Fairland, and Harry Jordan of Tulsa, Okla.; four sisters, Bonnie Troutt of Springfield, Mo., Laura Boe of LaBarge, Wyo., Dorcus Hillman of Miami, Okla., and Olive Field of Cutbank, Mont. A brother, Enoch Roberts, and a sister, Zenobia Tipton, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 18, in the Hickory Grove Community Center northeast of Grove. Rev. Clyde Stilley will officiate. Burial will be in the Hickory Grove Cemetery, northeast of Grove, under the direction of the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home, Afton Okla. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Gerald Tipton, Frank Tipton, Jeff Tipton, Steve Baldwin, Terry Fink and Jason Earls.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home Afton.

ELMER LEON ROBISON
AFTON, Okla. - Elmer Leon Robison, 67, died Thursday, November 1, 2001 at the St. John Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo., after an illness. Mr. Robison was born December 27, 1933 in Miami, Okla., to John and Lillie (Ruttenburg) Robison. He has lived in the Ottawa County area most of his life. Mr Robison worked for Eagle-Picher as a miner and millwright, retiring in 1970. He married Thelma Pauline Jones July 28, 1966 at Vinita, Okla. He attended the Cleora Baptist Church in Cleora, Okla.
Survivors include: wife, Pauline Robison; five sons, Rick Robison, Jerry Ball, and Alan Robison, all of Afton, Kenny Ball, Commerce, Okla., and Jimmy Ball, Miami, Okla.; five daughters, Melody Jones, Cathy Quick, and Debbie Patterson, all of Afton, Janet Edens, Newberry, S.C., and Peggy Ivy, Salton City, Calif.; one brother, Paul Robison, Lubbock, Texas; one sister, Louise Mattingly, Miami, Okla.; 20 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A son, David Robison, and four brothers, Gene, Everett, JC and Glen preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 5, in the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home, Afton. Burial was in the Hickory Grove Cemetery, south of Fairland, under the direction of the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home, Afton.
Pallbearers were Kenny Ball, Kevin Fairman, Tyler Baker, Russell Mattingly, Donnie Pickens, and Delmar Mattingly. Honorary pallbearers were Lee Pickens, Josh Patterson and Corey Ragsdale.

PAUL H. ROEHRICH
LACEY, Wash. - Paul H. Roehrich, 87, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2001 at Providence St. Peter Hospital, Olympia, Wash. Surviving are: his wife, Doran, Lacey, Wash.; two daughters, Evelyn Mathews, Racine, Wis., and Penny Roehrich, Lacey; two brothers, Edward Roehrich, Chicago, Ill., and Melvin Leis, Burbank, Calif.; three sisters, Alma Honstien, Scotts Bluff, Neb., and Leona Majercik and Elise Kraft, Anderson, Calif.; two granddaughters, Candice Kopecky and Doran Groski, and one great granddaughter, Alexandria Greg. He was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
Services will be held on Wednesday, October 24, at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Visitation is Tuesday, October 23,at Woodlawn Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will take place at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, Wash.
He had seved in the U.S. Army during WWII, was captured in the Battle of the Bulge, and had been a POW. He received the Bronze Star. He married the former Doran Pruitt and they had made their home in Chicago, Ill., and Grove before moving to Lacey, Wash., three years ago. Mr. Roehrich had been general manager of Ford and Chevrolet dealersips in Chicago and then owned his own car dealership in Chicago and in Grove. He had been a member of the VFW and American Legion, the BPOE and Loyal Order of Moose. He was a 30-year resident of Grove.

BONNIE (HANSON) ROUGHTON
ASHGROVE, Mo. - Bonnie (Hanson) Roughton, 82, of Ashgrove, Mo., formerly of Grove, died Friday, August 31, 2001 in Ashgrove after an illness. Mr. Roughton was born August 27, 1919 in Short, Okla., to Orville and Ola (Howell) Hanson. She had lived in the Grove area most of her life, moving to Ashgrove last year. Mrs. Roughton was a homemaker, seamstress and gardener, she was also of the Baptist faith. She married Kenneth Roughton March 25, 1937 in Pineville, Mo., he survives of the home.
Survivors are: three sons, Billy Ray Roughton of Jarrett, Va., Marvin Gale Roughton, of Joplin, Mo., and Richard Kenneth Roughton of Concordia, Kan.; two daughters, Shirley May Smith and Ellen Grace Wolfe, both of Ashgrove, Mo.; two sisters, Mary McMillan of Fayetteville, Ark., and Wanita Beesly of Goodman, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Gravette. Services were under the direction of the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home Miami.

IVAN W. ROWE
WHEATON, Mo. - Ivan William Rowe, 77, Wheaton, Mo., died at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2001 at the home of his daughter in Wheaton following a lengthy illness. Mr. Rowe was born January 13, 1924 in Stella, Mo., and was a lifelong area resident. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a rural letter carrier for the Stella Post Office, retiring in 1988. He had served on the school board of the Stella Schools, was active in the Stella softball league, a member of the Stella Senior Citizens, the Stella Historical Society and was an avid fisherman. He was a member of the Rocketdyne Road Church of Christ in Neosho. He and Margaret Jean Bankson were married on February 2, 1946 in Cedar Town, Ga., and she preceded him in death June 28, 1997.
He is survived by one son, Bill Rowe, Joplin, Mo.; three daughters, Carolyn Ellis, Fairview, Mo., Sharon McBride, Wheaton, Mo., and Melissa Boehnke, Cotopaxi, Colo.; a sister, Helen Kelly, Branson, Mo.; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Mills, March 1, 1987, a granddaughter and a sister.
Services will be Sat., Dec. 1, at 10 a.m. at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Troy Risley will officiate. Burial will be in the Hazelgreen Cemetery, Boulder City, Mo., and pallbearers will be Brad Rowe, Jeffrey Rowe, Jeremy McBride, Lincoln Littlefield, Brad Lyerla, Danny Beardsley, and Jimmy Burton. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Friday and the family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home in Neosho. Arrangements under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.

ANITA N. RUSSELL
GROVE - Anita N. Russell, 87, passed away April 12, 2001 at the Lakewood Heights Nursing Home in Wichita, Kan. Anita was born on November 17, 1913 in Manitou, Okla. to Harry Dale Butcher and Maude Montgomery Butcher. November 12, 1933 Anita and John F. Russell were united in marriage and had 63 happy years together. Anita retired from Safeway Food Stores and after her retirement she spent 21 winters in South Texas with her husband. She loved gardening and fishing. She is preceded in death by her husband, John; one brother, Al Butcher, of Borger, Texas; one sister, Billie Courtney of Corpus Christi, Texas; and one great grandson, Jason Hall of Whittier, Ark.
She is survived by her children, Frankie N. Mapp of Chandler, Ariz., Ray Nell Clark of Columbia, S.C., and Dale Russell of Wichita, Kan.; one brother, James Buthcer of Wichita, Kansas; six sisters, Corinna Schrener, Dossie Fisher, Larue Church, Marita Cronin, all of Frederick, Okla., and Ann Woods of Granbury, Texas and Pat Robertson of Wimberly, Texas; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
A private graveside service was held April 14 at the Buzzard Cemetery in Grove. Services were under the direction of the Turner Funeral Chapel, Grove.

BETTIE J. RUSSELL
GROVE - Bettie June Russell, 71, died Tuesday, August 28, 2001 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 1, at Carr Baptist Church with Rev. Don Black officiating. Burial will follow at Olympus Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Friday, August 31, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Ellis Family Funeral Home.
Bettie Russell was born on January 1, 1930 in Tulsa to Charles and Lucy Cook Steele. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for Aircraft Accessories before retiring. She lived in the Grove area for 10 years, coming from Tulsa. Ms. Russell was a member of Carr Baptist Church.
Survivors are: one daughter, Diana Russell, of Sapulpa; one son, Charles Emmitt Russell, of Wagoner; and one brother, Kenneth Steele, of Las Vegas, Nev. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, William E. Russell III.
Services are entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home, Grove.

INEZ MARIE (DUTY) RUTLEDGE
MIAMI, Okla. - Inez Marie (Duty) Rutledge, 85, of rural Miami, Okla., died Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at Baptist Regional Health Center after an illness. Mrs. Rutledge was born October 13, 1915 near Sallisaw, Okla. to Andrew Houston and Minnie (King) Duty. Except for 10 years, from 1963 to 1972, she had lived in Ottawa County most of her life. Mrs. Rutledge was a homemaker. She married Pete Rutledge on June 8, 1935 in Picher, Okla., he preceded her in death January 3, 1963. A son, Larry Rutledge, two brothers, Kenneth and Clayton Duty, and two sisters, Irene McDade and Edna Rutledge, also preceded her in death.
She is survived by three sons, Jerry and Jay Rutledge both of Miami, and Jack Rutledge of Santa Teresa, N.M.; brother, Clyde Duty of Orange, Calif.; sister, Lucille Thornton of Corona, Calif.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 12, in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Chetopa, Kan. Marion Trone officiated. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home Commerce.
