RALPH LEE SILCOX
MANGUM, Okla. - Ralph Lee Silcox, 65, died Friday, November 16, as the result of injuries sustained in a car accident near Mangum. Born February 4, 1936, in Row Okla., he was the son of Bruce Silcox and Leota Cochran Silcox and had spent his early lifetime in the Colcord area. He was a former resident of Tulsa, Phoenix, and Las Vegas before moving to Mangum in 1997. Mr. Silcox was a nationwide independent truck driver and a U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. Silcox was a member of the Teamsters Union and had been active as a buyer and seller of quarter horses and cutting horses.
Survivors include: one son, Jeffrey Silcox, Oklahoma City, Okla.; his mother, Leota Cochran Silcox, Colcord, Okla.; four brothers, Norman Silcox, Blackwell, Okla., Sherman Silcox, Watts, Okla., Beryl Silcox, Roosevelt, Okla., and Roger Silcox, Colcord and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Desiree; his father, Bruce Silcox; one brother, James Silcox; and two sisters, Wanda Bell Christy and Rita Mae Noland.
Funeral services wereTuesday, November 20, at 10 a.m. in Wasson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ed Billups officiating. Burial was in Row Cemetery at Colcord with funeral services under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home.

JESSIE M. SILL
GROVE - Jessie Mae Sill, 90, died on Sunday, December 9, 2001 at her home after a lengthy illness. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2001 at Buzzard Cemetery with Dolphus Blevins officiating.
Jessie Sill was born on October 19, 1911 in Isabelle, Kan., to Jess and Minnie (Swinson) Appling. She married Lyle Sill in Arkansas in 1960. They have lived in Grove for 37 years, moving from Joplin.
Survivors include her husband, Lyle, Grove; four grandsons, Bob and Bryan Pierce both of Clyde, Kan., Gail Pierce, of Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, and Randy Pierce, Canyon Lake, Texas.
Services were entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home, 107 S. Broadway, Grove, 918-786-5172.

MARTHA C. SIMON
MERRITT ISLAND, Florida - Martha C. Simon, 68-year-old Merritt Island, Fla. resident, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2001 in Florida. Martha was born October 28, 1932 in Vinita to Fred and Bertha (Pitts) Claggett. She was a homemaker and worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell in Vinita and Pryor. Martha was united in marriage to Arnold Daymon Simon on March 21, 1953 at Pryor.
She is survived her husband, Daymon, of the home; one son, Arnold Daymon Simon III; six brothers, Fred Claggett of Visalia, Calif., G.C. Claggett and wife, Marcell, of Vinita, K.K. Claggett and wife, Martha, of Vinita, Grover Claggett of Vinita, Wilson Claggett of Dallas, Texas, and Gerald Claggett and wife, Gayle, of Tulsa; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, at the First Baptist Church of Big Cabin. Interment will be in Big Cabin Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home.

ROSELLA OLIVE SIRMANS
JAY, Okla. - Rosella Olive Sirmans, 69, passed away Friday, March 30, 2001 at her home in Jay, Okla. Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers, David Sutton and Don Sutton.
She is survived by her children, Olen Sirmans and wife, Veronica, John Sirmans and wife, Juanita, Pat Blevins and husband, Lee, and Marry King, all of Jay; grandchildren, Chris Jason, Kenneth, Beau, Amber, Tiffany, Joseph, Jerimiah, Quintin, Amanda, Ruben, Brandon, Coleman and wife, Michelle, and Danny and wife, Jamie; great grandchildren, Ashley, Johnathan, Gene, Kolyn, Shane and Danny; two brothers, Gene Sutton of Topsy, Okla., and Ray Sutton of Lebannon, Tenn., and one sister, Donna Hanna of Killine, Texas.
Services are pending with the Turner Funeral Chapel in Jay, Okla.

VERONICA KAY SIRMANS
JAY, Okla. - Veronica Sirmans, age 42, died Saturday, June 23, 2001 in Ft. Smith, Ark. after a sudden illness. The daughter of William and Velderg (Randolph) Autry, she was born on January 16, 1959 in Madera, Calif. Veronica worked as a Traveling Nurse for the St. Edwards Hospital in Ft. Smith, Ark. She had spent five years working in the ER in the Gravette Medical Center and two years at St. Mary's Hospital in Springdale, Ark. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. Veronica married Olen Sirmans in Jay on February 4, 1977.
Surviving are: her husband, Olen Sirmans, of Jay; son, Chris Sirmans of Jay; mother, Velderg Autry of Jay; three brothers. Steve, Dewey, and Ken Autry, all of Jay.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 27, in the Worley-Luginbuel Chapel with Joe Lovett officiating. The interment will be at 2:30 p.m. in the New Hope Cemetery near Spiro, Okla. The services are under the directions of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay.

GARNER FRANKLIN SIXKILLER
GROVE - Garner Franklin Sixkiller of Grove died Tuesday, December 25, 2001 at the Grand Lake Villa Nursing Home in Grove. He was 91.
Mr. Sixkiller was born May 10, 1910 to Jim and Rose (Hannon) Sixkiller at Cameron, West Virginia. He attended rural schools in Delaware County. He moved to Grove in 1980 after retiring as a welder for American Airlines in Tulsa. He married Thelma Sixkiller in 1937.
Survivors include: his wife, Thelma Sixkiller, of Grove; two daughters, Lurlene Twieth and Perilla Stenberg, both of California; one stepdaughter, Laura Fay Payne of Tulsa, Okla.; and two sisters, Bea Doublehead and Hallie Beaty, both of Grove.
Graveside services will be planned at a later date. Arrangements under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

MILDRED GERTRUDE SLACK
ROWLETT, Texas - Mildred Gertrude Slack, 87-year-old resident of Rowlett, Texas, died Tuesday, October 2, 2001 at the Rowlett Nursing Center. Born September 23, 1914 in Columbia, Mo., she was the daughter of James Thomas Gilpin and Letty Mae McAlpin Gilpin. Mrs. Slack had been a longtime resident of Delaware County where she was co-owner of Slack's Grocery in Kansas, Okla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Slack, in 1985.
Survivors include: a step-daughter, Willie Marie Slack Strange, Vicksburg, Miss.; a sister, Helen Vance, Garland, Texas; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, October 5, at Hartford Cemetery, Hartford, Ark., with Rev. Dee Morton officiating. Burial will follow. Services are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice. Condolences may be sent to Helen Vance, 2801 Briar Brook Lane, Garland, TX 75040.

JAICEY ALLISON SLEMP
MOORE, Okla. - Jaicey Allison Slemp, infant daughter of Shelly Sappington and Scott Slemp of Moore, Okla., was stillborn on December 2, 2001.
She is survived by her parents and sister, Ashten, of the home; grandparents, Mark and Terri Campbell of Moore, Okla., and Lou and Pam Caplan of Dribble, Okla.; great grandparents, Charles and Frances Eagon of Quapaw, Okla., and Pat Campbell of Oklahoma City, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 8, in the G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, Okla. Rev. Marvin Cleveland will officiate under the direction of the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home, Miami.

FLORINE SMITH
WEST SILOAM SPRINGS, Okla. - Florine Smith, 72-year-old resident of West Siloam Springs, died Tuesday, October 9, 2001 at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital in Siloam Springs, Ark. Born August 7, 1929 in Delaware County, she was the daughter of Carl W. Ford and Ruth Odessa Hungate Ford. A lifetime resident of West Siloam Springs, Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a retired carrier of the Tulsa World. She was affiliated with Bethel Methodist Church. Her husband, William Dwayne Smith, and her parents preceded her in death.
Survivors are: five adopted sons, Allen Smith of Kirkland, Wash., Kevin Smith and his wife, Valerie, of Colcord, Okla., Rusty Smith and his wife, Carina, of Siloam Springs, Wade Smith of the home, and Kenny Pettit and his wife, Cheryl, of Gentry, Ark.; two grandsons; six granddaughters; two sisters, Maxine Thomason and Nadine Younger, both of Siloam Springs, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, October 11, at Wasson Memorial Chapel with Dr. A.P. Vohs and Pastor Joel Betow officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Siloam Springs. Services are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

JAMES SMITH
CUSHING, Okla. - James Smith, 52, of Cushing, Okla., formerly of Miami, Okla., died Wednesday, May 30, 2001 at a Cushing Hospital after a sudden illness. Mr. Smith was born January 20, 1949 in Miami, Okla. to Ray T. and Ila Marie (Frost) Smith. He lived in Cushing the past several months, moving there from Missouri. He was a convenience store manager and had attended the Mound Valley Baptist Church.
He is survived by his three brothers, Raymond Smith of Elk City, Okla., Roy E. Smith of Bernice, Okla., and Paul Smith of Fayette, Mo.; two sisters, Betty Allen of Lansing, Mich., and Melinda Bayless of Joplin, Mo.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 2, in the Williams Coal Creek Cemetery west of Miami. Rev. Jerry Von Moss will officiate. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home Miami.

LOUISE J. SMITH
GROVE - Louise J. Smith, 91, passed away on October, 13, 2001 at Grove.
Formerly of Wichita, Kan., she was a bookkeeper at First National Bank until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Smith.
She is survived by: two daughters, Beverly Dawson and husband, Charles, of Wichita, Kan., and Judy Bradley and husband, Danny, of Grove; four grandchildren, Deborah Dawson of Topeka, Kan., Jennifer Bailey of Woodinville, Wash., Kerry Bradley of Grove, and Kelly Smith of Haysville, Kan.; two great grandchildren, Danielle Winegarner of Wichita and Cooper Bailey of Woodinville, Wash.; and one great-great grandchild, Jerek Winegarner of Wichita.
The family will receive visitors on Wed., Oct. 17, from noon to 1 p.m., at the Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita, Kan.
Graveside services will be held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory following visitation.
Memorials may be sent in her name to Hospice of Good Shepherd at 2100 S. Main, Grove, OK 74344.

MARY JANE "TOONIE" BUZZARD SMITH
JAY, Okla.- Mary Jane Buzzard Smith, 62, died Sunday, September 9, 2001 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa after a traffic accident near Langley.
Mrs. Smith was born in Delaware County on July 10, 1939 to William and Marie (Toolate) Buzzard. She married Lewis Smith in November, 1976. Mrs. Smith was a member of Hillside Baptist Church in Zena. She was a homemaker.
Survivors are: her husband, Lewis Smith, of the home; two sons, Bob Buzzard and wife, Kim, of Jay, and Kenny Legg and wife, Amber, of Spavinaw; one sister, Stella Roberts, of Gravette, Ark.; six brothers, Grover Buzzard, Junior Buzzard, both of Jay, Ray Buzzard, of Baxter Springs, Kan., Donnie Buzzard, Lebanon, Ore., Eddie Buzzard, Gravette, Ark., and Archie Buzzard, Vinita, Okla.; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, two children, and one sister, Becky Mae Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 13, at Round Springs Church with Richard Pickup officiating. Burial will follow at Eucha Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay.

EVERETT LEON SPADE
KANSAS, Okla. - Everett Leon Spade, age 64, of Kansas, Okla., passed away Saturday, June 16, 2001 in his home following a brief illness. Mr. Spade, the son of Reverend Bert and Polly (Buck) Spade, was born in the family home near Kenwood, Okla. on March 3, 1937.
Funeral services for Mr. Spade were conducted Thursday, June 21, at 10:30 a.m. in the Kansas High School Gymnasium, Kansas, Okla., with Reverends Doug Carey, Bridge Chuckluck, and Clifford Loftis officiating. Interment was at 9:00 a.m. Friday, June 22, in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery with full military rites by the Muskogee Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Casket bearers were Dale Hensley, Doyal Conley, Anthony Spade, Marty Claussen, Don Voss and Paul Nguyen. Raymond Kirby, Walter McElyea, William Littledave, Jr. and Jim Burgess served as honorary casket bearers. Funeral service arrangements were under the care of Garner's Jim Green Funeral Home, Pryor.
Everett was born and raised in the Kenwood community and attended Seneca Indian School. He joined the United States Navy in 1955 and made the navy his career for the next 20 years. His naval service took him to Viet-nam, Midway Island, Hawaii and Taiwan, among other places. During his tour in Taiwan, he married Shu-Yun "Judy" on December 30, 1967. Following his retirement in November, 1970, Everett returned to northeastern Oklahoma. For the past four years he had been a bus driver for the Kansas Public School System and previously had worked for the Claremore Indian Hospital and W.W. Hastings Indian Hospital in Tahlequah.
He was a member of the Twin Oaks Baptist Church, having been baptized as a child in Euwasha Baptist Church, Kenwood. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, hunting, camping, traveling, vegetable gardening, gospel music, and watching sports and current event programs on television. Everett will be long remembered for his sweet spirit and smile by his family and friends.
Mr. Spade is survived by Judy, his wife, of the home; two sons, Yuan Chen and Joyce Spade, Herndon, Va., and Sgt. Henry and Tina Diane Spade, Fort Campbell, Ky.; daughter, Christina and Tommy Conley, Rose, Okla.; grandchildren, Jonathan, Amber, Preston, Brian, Amanda and Dylan; sisters, Mary Ann and Jerome Grant, Pryor, Eliza and James Deere, Kenwood, and Homer and Yvonne Spade, Montana; sister-in-law Joanne Spade, Grove; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Johnny Spade.
