VELMA R. (SEATON) BRADY
GROVE - Mrs. Velma R. (Seaton) Brady, 92, a resident of Grove for the past five years, died Friday, October 18, 2002 at the home of her son, Vernon Brady. She was born May 7, 1910 in Severville, Tenn., to Ollie (Denton) Seaton and Earl M. Seaton, and moved to Oklahoma with her family when she was four-years-old.
She married Waldo Lee Brady on September 5, 1935, who preceded her in death on June 23, 1998. She is survived by: her son, Vernon Earl Brady; two granddaughters, Cindy Brady Larson of Grove, and Kari Brady Surbeck of Tulsa, Okla.; three great grandchildren, Nicholas Ryan Larson, Taylor Renee Surbeck and John William Surbeck; two brothers, Veon Seaton of Ukiah, Calif., and Voyd Von Seaton, whereabouts unknown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, James Jackson Seaton and Venas Seaton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 26, at the Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home in Del City, Okla. Burial services will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens in Midwest City, Okla., under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home.
She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, Del City, Okla.

CHRISTINE BRANDENBURG
GROVE - Funeral services for Christine Brandenburg, 87, were held Monday, July 15, 2002 in the Olympus Cemetery under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove.
Mrs. Brandenburg was born July 5, 1915 in New York City, N.Y., and died Sunday, July 14, at Grand Lake Villa.
She married Charles Brandenburg and he preceded her in death in 1987.
She was a member of the St. Paul's Catholic Church in Jersey City, N.J., and moved to the Grove area in 1999.
She is survived by a daughter, Doris Orr, of Afton, Okla.; three sisters, Martha, Mae and Claire; and two grandchildren..

OLLIE E. BRANHAM
NEW CASTLE, Ind. - Ollie E. Branham, 95, of New Castle, died late Wednesday evening, June 19, 2002 following an extended illness. She was born March 13, 1907 in Steubenville, Ky., the daughter of the late Eli and Lula (Sexton) Dixon.
She retired in 1969 from Brooks Foods in Mt. Summit. She was licensed practical nurse, graduating from Cook County Nursing School in Chicago. She had been a Red Cross Volunteer at Henry County Memorial Hospital for 17 years, and had previously worked at Maxwell Corporation in New Castle for several years. She was an active member of South Memorial Drive Church of God for over 70 years, teaching Sunday School for many years and was a member of Missionary Aid. She enjoyed traveling, crocheting and reading her Bible.
Survivors include: three daughters, Veletta June and husband, George McKinniss, Otterbein, Ind., Lillian Ethel Brunson and husband, Walter, Jay, Okla., Mildred E. and husband, Ernie Hanna, New Castle; nine grandchildren, Jerry and wife, Tami Reamer, Franklin, Ind., Larry and wife, Angie Reamer, of Spiceland, Sherry and husband, Rick Labishak of Colorado Springs, Colo., Terrie and husband, Richard Craig, of Lewisville, Fred and wife, Ellen Sexton, Jay, Okla., Bill and wife, Jackie Sexton, Fordland, Mo., Jerry Sexton of Supply, N.C., Anita Schumpp, Lafayette, Ind., and Jean Garcia of Hagerston; one step grandson, Mark and wife, Judy Hanna, New Castle; 20 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren; two brothers, Luther and wife, Pat Dixon, East Peoria, Ill., Clyde and Mary Ellen Dixon, Galesburg, Ill.; two sisters; Frances Wys, Morton, Ill., Pearl Sexton, New Castle; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Charles R. Branham in 1968; a son, Paul Robert Branham; three brothers, Tom Dixon, Lisco Dixon, Wendell Dixon; one sister, Grace Graham; and a grandson, Jackie Sexton.
Services were held Saturday, June 22, 2002 at South Memorial Drive Church of God with the Reverend Harold Goodpastor officiating. Burial followed in South Mound Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the South Memorial Drive Church of God Scholarship Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home.

ROBERT CARL BRELAND
GROVE - Robert Carl Breland, age 53, died Saturday, February 9, 2002 at his home. The son of Albert and Callie Diffie Breland, he was born on June 30, 1948 at Hattiesburg, Miss. Robert lived in New Orleans, La., where he operated Target Archery for 15 years until 1986 when he moved to Grove. He opened Target Archery in 1995. He was an avid archer and the Louisiana State Champion from 1976 to 1979 and U.S. Semifinalist 1st place in 1980. He married Marsha Prater on February 14, 1986 in Grove. Robert was a member of the Hickory Grove Volunteer Fire Department for 10 years. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church and helped build the church on 21st in Grove.
Survivors include: his wife, Marsha Breland, of the home; a foster son, Perry Prater of the home; a grandson, Mathew Prater of the home; a granddaughter, Kendra Robertson of the home; a son, Robert Breland Jr. of Birmingham, Ala.; two stepdaughters, Corina Andras of Grove, and Carrie Angleton of Alton, Ill.; a daughter, Christy Mullin of Seminary, Miss.; two brothers, A.J. Breland of Stonewall, Miss., and Jerry Ray Breland of Seminary, Miss.; three sisters, Maxine Anderson of Saucier, Miss., Lucille Mooney of Seminary, and Molly Brewer of Mozelle, Miss.; and nine grandchildren.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. on Friday, February 15, in the Worley-Luginbuel Chapel. The interment will be in the Hickory Grove Cemetery. There will be a visitation for family and friends on Thursday, February 14, at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. The services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

J.C. 'JIM' BREWER
GROVE - Jim Brewer, age 74, died at his home on Friday, October 25, 2002 after a sudden illness. The son of James and Zora (Dodgen) Brewer, he was born on March 29, 1928 in Severville, Tenn. Jim owned and operated a mobile home sales and service company. He married Dorothy Carmical in Tulsa, Okla., on March 29, 1974, and she preceded him in death in 1999. He owned Lucky Seven Resort from 1974 to 1999. He was a member of the Grove Moose Lodge, Grove Elks Lodge and the American Legion.
Survivors include: three sons, Johnnie Alvin Brewer and wife, Schryl (Blalock) in Grove, Rickie Bruce Brewer and wife, LuEann, in Tulsa, and Allen Brewer and wife, Aliasa, in Grove; one daughter, Michelle Matheny and husband, Chris, in Owasso, Okla.; two sisters, Edna Dehaven in Logansport, Ind., and Carolyn White in River Ridge, La.; his ex-wife, Martha Freeman in Grove; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He will be missed and was loved by his friends and family.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 1, at the Grove Moose Lodge. His final resting place will be at Buzzard Cemetery, Grove.

JACK BREWSTER
ERICK, Okla. - Jack Brewster, 79-year-old resident, died late Sunday, February 17, 2002 at the hospital in Sayre, Okla. He was born October 25, 1922 in Cleora, Okla., to George and Margaret Elizabeth (Landrum) Brewster. Jack served in the U.S. Army during World War II and Korea. He married Ivy Nell Carter on October 1, 1951 in Eureka Springs, Ark. Jack worked for K&O Oil Company in Canadian, Texas, for several years before retiring. He was a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: his wife, Ivy, of the home; three children, Sally Dale (Brewster) Turner of Elk City, Okla., J.C. Walton Brewster, II of Temple, Okla., and Ty Throut Brewster of Chandler, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Tyler Walton Brewster and Kennedy Alexis Brewster; five sisters, Ina Harrison of Miami, Okla., Oleta Barnes of Afton, Okla., and Lou Ella Palmer of Grove, Peggy Johnson of Grove, and Jeanie Crawford of Cleora.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, Leroy Brewster and Bill Brewster; and two sisters, Lena Jackson, and Wanda Miller.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 21, at 1 p.m. at the Cleora Baptist Church with Rev. Loyd Crawford and Rev. Jim Handle officiating. Interment will follow at the McLaughlin Cemetery near Cleora. Arrangements are under the direction of the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita, Okla.

PAUL O. 'WHITEY' BROADWELL
MIAMI, Okla. - Paul O. "Whitey" Broadwell, 46, died Monday, July 29, 2002 at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami.
He was a Miami resident who worked as a maintenance mechanic at J & M Farms in Miami.
Memorial services were held on Thursday, August 1, at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home Chapel in Miami.

PHYLLIS P. BROCK
NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Phyllis P. Brock, age 65, passed away Friday, January 18, 2002 at Edward Hospital in Naperville.
Phyllis was born March 29, 1936 in Webb City, Mo., the daughter of Paul M. and Ethel Brooks. Her mother survives.
Mrs. Brock grew up in Webb City, Mo., was a graduate of Webb City High School and held an Associates degree from Joplin Junior College. Mrs. Brock was employed as an accountant for several companies including Norman Electronic, Joplin, Joplin Public School, and Cardinal Scale, Webb City. She was an active member of the Shrine Club and Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Brock lived in Joplin before moving to Warrenville, Ill. She was a member of Crosswinds Church, Warrenville, and a former member of 26th and Connecticut Church of Christ in Joplin and the Church of Christ of Grove. She enjoyed camping and traveling.
She married Darrell Brock on April 13, 1957 in Joplin. He preceded her in death in 1997.
Survivors include: one daughter, Beth Brock of Naperville; two brothers, Charles Brooks and wife, Connie, of Carthage, Mo., and Paul Brooks and wife, Donna, of Noel, Mo.; one sister, Marilyn Rusk and husband, Gordon, of Santa Ana, Calif.; one grandson, Michael Marple of Naperville; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Saturday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. Reverend Bill Hobson will officiate. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. Friday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, DuPage Unit, 999 N. Main St., Glen Ellyn, IL 60137.
Arrangements under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary.

HAROLD GENE BROWN
WYANDOTTE, Okla. - Harold Gene Brown, age 51, died Friday, February 1, 2002 at his home after a sudden illness.
Mr. Brown was born September 15, 1950 in Claremore, Okla., to Hobart and Gladys (Dilliner) Brown. He has lived in the Wyandotte area since 1994, moving here from South Carolina. He was a supervisor for the Brown & Root Gold Mine in South Carolina before retiring in 1994.
Mr. Brown married Randy Winchester on November 25, 1989 in Rock Hill, S.C.
Survivors include: his wife, Randy, of the home; one brother; five sisters, and a twin sister, Bertie Smith, of Miami, Okla., Alene Rhatzgan of Bernice, Okla., Dixie Hull of Tulsa, Okla., Sharon Anderson of Wyandotte, Sue Golden of Seneca, Mo., Butch Brown of Seneca, and Carol J. Brown of Miami; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
His parents and a brother, John Brown, preceded Mr. Brown in death.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, in the Brown Cemetery south of Wyandotte. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home of Miami.
Memorial may be made to the organization of his friends' choice.

JOE RAY BROWN
GROVE - Joe Ray Brown passed away Friday, September 20, 2002 at his home after a battle with cancer. He was 57-years-old. Born on July 10, 1945 to Charles (Scut) and Edna Markle Brown, Joe grew up in the Commerce area. In February of 1964 he entered the U.S. Army.
Possessing a love for adventure, Joe soon found himself a member of the elite 101st Air Borne Division. Parachuting became a passion that followed him throughout his life. Joe was a combat engineer and became a demolition expert. He was also an expert marksman in several weapons. In the service Joe spent several years in Europe and became fluent in the German language. After receiving an Honorable Discharge, he came back to the Commerce area and was a member of the Army Reserves for several years. He attended school at Okmulgee, majoring in heat and air conditioning, and graduated with honors. He was on the Registrar's Honor Roll in 1978.
After graduation, Joe was employed by Trane as a manufacturing rep. and quality control manager, flying throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. He was also employed by Northeastern Oklahoma A & M College in Miami, and Northeastern State in Tahlequah, Okla., and the Muskogee Veteran's Hospital in Muskogee, Okla., maintaining heating and air conditioning systems. For several years, he was self-employed in the Grove and Tulsa area.
Joe enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting and spent many hours teaching his nieces and nephews of the outdoors. Though not a follower of organized religion, Joe had a deep love and respect for his Lord, whom he felt closest to in the woods. He was a self-taught musician, playing several instruments, including the guitar, keyboard, and harmonica.
After ill health and work-related injuries forced Joe into early retirement, he became interested in computers and photography, excelling in both.
Caring for Joe during his last illness were: his brother, Billy Jack Brown, and wife, Thelma, of Commerce; and two younger sisters, Lynda Nichols, of Miami, and Susan Christensen and husband, Gary, of Columbus, Kan. He will also be forever mourned by his son, Scott, of York, Penn.; stepfather, Richard Light, of Grove; brother, Charles John Brown and wife, Barbara, of Mount Pleasant, N.C.; sister, Mary Ann Warren and husband, Oakley, of Grove; many adoring nieces and nephews, and other loving family members and a host of good friends.
Services will be held at Joe's home at 66601 E. 240 Road, northeast of Grove (for directions, call 791-9420), where his body will lie in state until funeral time at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 24. The family will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Joe's brothers and sisters, assisted by nephews, Marc and Brian Nichols, Steven Brown, Josh and Jake Charpentier, and Kory Merrill. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Thomas, Gary Christensen, Bill Hale, Johnny Barton, Tony Craig and Robert Colson.
Joe will lie next to his mother in Olympus Cemetery, east of Grove. Military rites will be performed at graveside by the Grove Veteran's Ritual Team. In honor of Joe's Cherokee heritage, Indian rites will be observed. Visitation will be held at Joe's home at 6 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Thomas Funeral Home of Welch, Okla.

HELEN MARIE BRUNK
GROVE - Helen Marie Brunk, 84, died Tuesday, December 3, 2002 at Grand Lake Villa.
Helen Brunk was born August 18, 1918 in Burlington, Kan. to James 'Jimmy' and Ethel (Lovett) Kiser. She worked as a Medical Secretary at Winfield State Hospital for more than 20 years before her retirement in 1980. She traveled all over the United States including Hawaii. Mrs. Brunk moved to the Grove area in 1980 from Winfield Kan. She was a member of Elk River Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Janet Lawrence, Claremore, Okla.; one sister, Alberta Petty, St. Johns, Kan.; one brother Donald Kiser Mexico; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Peak, on November 30, 2001.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, December 6, at Elk River Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Olympus Cemetery.
Services under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove.
