LEO T. CAULK
MIDWEST CITY, Okla. - Leo T. Caulk, 81-year-old Midwest City resident, formerly of the Vinita area, died Wednesday, January 23, 2002 at home after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Caulk was born March 21, 1920 in Rogers County, Okla., to Otis and Hattie (Morris) Caulk. He grew up in the Vinita area and at the age of 22 on December 18, 1942 married Juanita E. Heape. Soon after the marriage Mr. Caulk served his country in World War II. Upon his return, Mr. and Mrs. Caulk made their home in Pryor, Okla. While in Pryor Mr. Caulk worked for the Grand River Dam Authority. In May of 1963 he and his wife relocated to the Midwest City area where he became Superintendent of Water Treatment Facilities.
Survivors include: his wife, Juanita E. Caulk, of the home; one daughter, Charlotte Griffith, of Muskogee, Okla.; one son, Jim Boyce, of Newcastle, Okla.; four grandchildren, Greg Griffith of Edmond, Okla., Kendal Hiner of Muskogee, Dana Call of Moore, Okla., and Tim Boyce of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and six great grandchildren, Kaylee and Ryan Griffith, Madison Hiner, Natalie and Brandon Williams, and Jacob Call.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 26, at the Burckhalter Memorial Chapel. Rev. Steve Moss, family minister Boulevard Christian Church in Muskogee, will officiate. Interment will be in Chelsea Cemetery, Chelsea, Okla.
Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Alan Griffith, Thomas Michael Hiner, Jim Boyce, Don Rehard, Roger Morris, and Argene Clanton.
Services are under the direction of the Burckhalter Memorial Funeral Home in Vinita.

ALMA E. CHAMBERLAIN
COLCORD, Okla. - Alma Ethel Chamberlain, 88-year-old resident of Colcord, died August 8, 2002 at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital, Siloam Springs, Ark. Born August 26, 1913 in New Castle, Wyo., she was the daughter of Robert Bond and Minnie Mills Bond. She was a homemaker and attended Faith Baptist Church in Sandusky, Okla. She married Clyde Chamberlain August 25, 1929 in Delaware County.
Mrs. Chamberlain was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde, in June 1997; one daughter, Berta Dean; three grandchildren; and two brothers, Bert Bond and Dick Bond.
Survivors include: five sons, Lindy Chamberlain of Gentry, Ark., Charles Chamberlain, James Chamberlain, Vernie Chamberlain and Mike Chamberlain, all of Colcord; five daughters, Geraldine Tisdale and Shirley Harper, both of Gentry, Rosa Layne of Fayetteville, Ark., Leola Curtis of Ft. Smith, Ark., and Rita Swicegood of Colcord; two brothers, Hubert Bond of Gentry, and Wheeler Bond of Tulsa, Okla.; three sisters, Roberta Lawery of Westville, Okla., Clarice Gailey of Awanie, Calif., and Iva Roberts of Washington; 36 grandchildren; and 70 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 12, at 2 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church in Sandusky with Pastor Mike Whiteley officiating. Burial followed at Dickson Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home.

JERRY LEE CHANCE
MIAMI, Okla. - Jerry Lee Chance, age 53, of Miami died Friday, January 25, 2002 at his home after a sudden illness.
Mr. Chance was born November 18, 1948 in Muskogee, Okla., to Virgil Lee and Geraldine Catherine (French) Chance. He has lived in Miami since 1971. He worked at the Tri-State Auto Supply and Lion Auto Supply before his disability forced him to retire. He attended the Later Day Saints Church.
Mr. Chance was a veteran of the Vietnam War Era serving with the Army in Germany.
Survivors include: a half-brother, Terry Lee Chance of Tulsa, Okla.; and two cousins, Dane Kettner of Diamond, Mo., and Barbara Coffman of Joplin, Mo.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, in the Stone Cemetery south of Carthage, Mo. LeRoy Rosson will officiate. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home of Miami.

EVA M. CHANCELLOR
KENWOOD, Okla. - Eva M. Chancellor, 71, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2002 at Integris Grove General Hospital. She was born on January 4, 1931, the daughter of Bob Mouse and Jane Cabbagehead Mouse in Salina, Okla. Eva was a lifelong resident of the Kenwood area. She married Ralph L. Chancellor on September 9, 1950 at Tulsa, Okla. They raised a wonderful large family that she adored. Eva was a talented seamstress, making custom draperies and quilts. She loved to garden, canning what she grew. Eva especially loved cooking Sunday dinners for all her family. She loved to travel and enjoyed playing Bingo.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, at the Kenwood Gymnasium in Kenwood, Okla., with Reverend Utah Humphrey officiating. Casket bearers will be her grandsons, Keith Lamb, Mike Chancellor, Kevin Chancellor, Dustin Chancellor, Jerrod Ramsey, Tim Postoak, Chris Walters, and Brandon Chancellor. Interment will be in the Kenwood Cemetery. Funeral Services are under the direction of Shipman's Jim Green Funeral Home.
Eva is survived by her husband, Ralph L. Chancellor, of the home; three sons, Dennis Chancellor, Ned Chancellor and Larry Chancellor; three daughters, Iva Lamb, Amanda Walters and Elaine Ramsey; five brothers, Tony Mouse, Louie Mouse, J.B. Mouse, Bobby Mouse and Richard Littledave; four sisters, Dora R. Bradford, Geneva Hogshooter, Lucinda White and Leona Dry; 23 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She is preceded by one son, Terry Chancellor, one daughter, Niva Walden, her parents and mother-in-law.

ARNOLD BURTON CHANEY
MIAMI, Okla. - Arnold Burton Chaney, age 81, of Miami, died Saturday, March 30, 2002 in St. John's Regional Hospital in Joplin, Mo., after an illness.
Mr. Chaney was born May 24, 1920 in Afton, Okla., to Art and Nora (Anderson) Chaney. He has lived in Miami since 1940. He worked at Spartan Aeronautics in Miami and was a 34-year retiree of the B.F. Goodrich plant in Miami. He was a member of the United Rubber Workers Union.
Mr. Chaney was a long time member of the First Assembly of God in Miami. He was a member of the Men's Bible Class and an usher.
Mr. Chaney married Katherine Rebecca Kirk on February 5, 1944 in Afton.
Survivors include: his wife, Katherine, of the home; one son, Rex Chaney and wife, Teressa, of San Francisco, Calif.; three sisters, Artie Whiteley and Juanita Kirk, both of Miami, and Bertha Countryman of Huntsville, Texas; and two grandsons, Joshua Chaney of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jeremiah Chaney of Ft. LeJeune, N.C.
Three sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, at the First Assembly of God in Miami. Rev. Clyde Miller will officiate, assisted by Rev. Cary Moore. Burial will be in the G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami under the direction of the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home in Miami.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening, April 2, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Gary Countryman, Terry Whiteley, Joshua Chaney, Jeremiah Chaney, Randy Mathia, and Russell Orcutt.

ALFORD 'HAPPY' CHAPMAN
DELAWARE COUNTY - Alford "Happy" Chapman, age 85, died Sunday, October 13, 2002 in the Grove General Hospital. The son of Clyde and Bessie Chapman, he was born on August 18, 1917 in Delaware County. Living all his life in Delaware County, he worked for a while at the Simmons Chicken Plant, but mostly cut wood for a living. Two wives, Pearl Chapman and later Minnie Chapman preceded him in death.
Surviving are: a nephew, Rubin Young; a niece, Ethel Tolman, and three step grandchildren, Daniel Joye, Dennis Joye and Jackie Joye.
The funeral was at the graveside at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, at the Howard Cemetery. The services were under the directions of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

RICHARD 'DICK' CHRISTNER
AFTON, Okla. - Richard "Dick" Christner, rural Afton, died at Integris Grove General Hospital Tuesday, March 26, 2002 after a lengthy illness. He was born at Strausburg, Colo., to Roy and Mina Bowen Christner. He was a veteran of WWII, having served with the US Marines. He was a member of the Grove American Legion and VFW, and the Disabled American Veterans of Commerce. He had also served with the Grove Veterans Ritual Team. He was retired from the logging industry and heavy equipment sales. He married Emma Olson on July 13, 1993 at Miami, Okla. He moved to this area in 1990 from California. He was a member of the Wayside Bible Church in Bernice.
Survivors include: his wife, Emma, of the home; five sons, Richard Christner, Jr. of California, Mark E. Christner of Fairland, Okla., Patrick Olson of Afton, Danny Olson of Springfield, Mo., and Shelton Olson of Ben, Ore.; six daughters, Linda Youman of Buckley, Wash., Patty Kent of Ceres, Calif., Amy Parker of Stockton, Calif., Debbie Shelton of Ione, Calif., Sheryl McIntire of Vandalia, Mo., and Mary Wolfe of Joplin, Mo.; a brother, Neil Christner of Elkton, Mo.; a sister, Donna Reese of Kiowa, Colo.; 31 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 28, at Wayside Bible Church in Bernice, Okla., with Rev. Gene Jones officiating. The Grove Veterans Ritual Team will present the flag. Arrangements are provided by Adcock Funeral Home in Afton.

JIMMIE CHUMWALOOKY
KENWOOD, Okla. - Funeral services for Jimmie Chumwalooky, age 76, of Kenwood, were Monday, February 25, 2002 at 2 p.m. in the Euwasha Baptist Church in Kenwood. The Reverends Chester Crittenden and Woodrow Ross officiated. Burial followed in the Euwasha Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Key Funeral Home in Pryor, Okla.
Jimmie was born January 1, 1926 in Kenwood and passed away February 20 at his home in Kenwood.
The son of William Chumwalooky II and Maggie (King) Chumwalooky, he grew up in the Kenwood area and attended school in the Wynedotte Indian School, Kenwood school and the Jay schools. He was later drafted and served in the United States Army during WWII, spending some of his tour in Europe. After returning to Kenwood when he was discharged from the military he married his sweetheart, Ella Mae Backwater, on January 13, 1948. At the time of Jimmie's death they had been together over 54 years. Jimmie had worked in various capacities for the Jay School System through the years, but his most recent job before his retirement was as a heavy equipment operator with The B.I.A. Jimmie's family says he never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone. Jimmie was a Christian man and loved hearing the Word of his Lord at the Euwasha Baptist Church where he attended. He also was very proud of his Indian heritage and belonged to the Cherokee Nation, supporting the organizational activities. He was a great man and will be missed by all that shared in his life.
Survivors include: his wife, Ella Mae Chumwalooky, of the home; one daughter, Betty Gourd of the home; four sons, William and Carolyn Chumwalooky of Kenwood, Johnny Chumwalooky of Kenwood, Donald Chumwalooky of Salina, Okla., and Ronald Chumwalooky of Eucha, Okla.; two sisters, Eula Kingfisher of Tulsa, Okla., and Susie Bark of Salina; one step-sister, Maxine Bark of Salina; three step-brothers, Foreman Ross, Woodrow, Ross, and Bernard Ross, all of Kenwood; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
His parents, stepfather, Joe Ross, and one son-in-law, Franklin D. Gourd, preceded him in death.

JACK H. CLABAUGH
GROVE - Jack H. Clabaugh, a resident of Grove, died Friday, August 30, 2002 at 1:40 a.m. at Integris Grove General Hospital, Grove, at the age of 77 years.
He was born June 3, 1925 in Picher, Okla., to Elisha Raymond and Iva Idella (Putman) Clabaugh. He owned an Engineering Consultation firm. He was Signalman 2nd Class in the U.S. Navy and a veteran of World War Ii. He moved to Grove in 1990 from Baton Rouge, La. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Grove, Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, Moose Lodge, International Society of Professional Engineers and had a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma A&M. He married his first wife, Ruth Wanda "Kelley" Clabaugh on November 3, 1943 in San Diego, Calif. She preceded him in death on October 5, 1994. He was also preceded by a brother, Raymond Clabaugh, and a sister, Velma D. Nance. He married Shirley M. Trout on June 21, 1997 in Grove.
Survivors include: his wife, Shirley M. Clabaugh, of the home; one son, Michael K. Clabaugh, Vinita, Okla.; one daughter, Jacquelyn K. Konderia, Hesperus, Colo., and one son, Wesley Clabaugh, Zachary, La.
No services are planned at this time at Mr. Clabaugh's request. The body has been cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Grove, or the Grove Public Library.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Picher, Okla..

DALLAS LEROY "DOC" CLARK
BARNSDALL, Okla. - Dallas LeRoy "Doc" Clark, age 90, died at 2:42 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2002 at his family residence in Barnsdall following an extended illness.
Funeral services for D.L. "Doc" Clark were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, at the graveside in Ethel Reece Cemetery in Barnsdall. Pastor David Wilson of the Barnsdall First Christian Church and Rev. Janelle Brammer of the Cleora, Okla., United Methodist Church were the officiants. Entombment was directed in the Ethel Reece Cemetery by the Arnold Moore Funeral Home of Barnsdall.
"Doc" Clark was born November 23, 1911 at Delaware, Okla. He was the son of Ezra and Lillian Leah (Conrad) Clark. He received his education in the Bartlesville schools and graduated with the Senior Class of 1930 from Bartlesville High School. He was active in football, basketball, baseball and track. He was a student of the University of Kansas and was active in baseball and track.
Following his education he was employed by Cities Service Gas Company and was retired from the company on April 1, 1971. He and Miss Inez Idael "Ike" Gamble were married in Bartlesville on December 28, 1937. They made their first home in Bristow, Okla., for seven years, when he was transferred by Cities Service Gas Company to Tallant, rural Barnsdall, for 27 years. The Clarks moved to New Port Ritchey, Fla., for 10 years, returning to Barnsdall in 1980 to live in retirement. Mrs. Clark preceded him in death on May 8, 1983 in Bartlesville. Since that time he has remained a resident of Barnsdall living in retirement.
Mr. Clark was a member of the Barnsdall First Christian Church and the Wah-Shah-She Masonic Lodge No. 110.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. William E. (Beth Ann) Bell of Barnsdall, Okla., and Mrs. Jesse G. (Gloria June) Garrett of The Coves at Bird Island, Afton, Okla.; one brother, Willis Noel "Mike" Clark of Bartlesville; one sister, Mrs. Victor L. (Katherine) Sponenberg of New Braunfels, Texas; four grandchildren, Kim Lynette (Smith) Wright and husband, Joel, of O'Fallon, Mo., Brian E. Bell and his wife, Sheryl, and Bruce W. Bell and wife, Laura, both of Marco Island, Fla., and Bradley E. Bell and wife, Tennie, of Denver, Colo.; and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Lillian Lynette Brown, a granddaughter, Debra (Smith) Audiss, and his father and mother.
A memorial in remembrance of Mr. Clark has been established with the Barnsdall First Christian Church Memorial Fund. Those who care to remember him this way may forward their gifts to the First Christian Church of Barnsdall.

EARL CLARK
GRAVETTE, Ark. - Earl Clark, 85, of Gravette, died October 13, 2002 at his home. He was born April 9, 1917 in Gravette to Jasper and Georgia Haswau Clark.
Earl was a lifelong resident of the Gravette area. He married Thelma Lois Haynes April 24, 1935. He was a produce marketer for 60 years and a member of the Maysville Baptist Church. He enjoyed camping and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1978, parents, sister, Ileen Clark Potts, in 1952, brother, James Alford Clark, in 1993, a son, James Earl Clark, in 2000, daughter, Mary Elizabeth Clark Orr, in 1990, and three granddaughters, Julie Orr in 1963, Treasa Rusk in 1965, and Kimberly Rusk in 1987.
Survivors include: his daughter, Naomi Lee Clark Rusk of Centerton, Ark.; grandchildren, Jackie Clark of Bentonville, Ark., Regina Clark Shumate of Springdale, Ark., Mary Lee Orr of Gravette, Charles Orr of Bernice, Okla., Jerral Rusk of Glenmont, Ohio, James Rusk of Centerton, Ark., and Sherry Rusk of Johnson, Ark.; 17 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. Also surviving is his caretaker and companion for the past 12 years, Hazel Smith of Monett, Mo.
A graveside service will be held for family and friends October 16 at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hiwasse, Ark., with Brother Jim Keith officiating.
Arrangements are by Callison-Lough Funeral Service of Gravette.
