PATRICIA CAROL (DAUGHERTY) DILLINER
NAVARRE, Fla. - Patricia Carol (Daugherty) Dilliner, 64-year-old Claremore resident, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2002 at Navarre from a sudden illness.
Patricia was born March 17, 1938 in Claremore, Okla., to John Daugherty, Sr., and Victoria (Secondine) Daugherty. She was a graduate of White Oak High School. Patricia worked as Benefits Coordinator for the Claremore Indian Hospital. She was united in marriage to Dale Dilliner in 1961. They later divorced.
Patricia was a member of the Shawnee Ceremonial Group of White Oak and a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers.
Surviving family members include: her mother, Victoria Secondine, of Claremore; one daughter, Julie Gay and husband, Tom, of Claremore; one son, John Mark Dilliner and wife, Kathy, of Joplin; one sister, Sharon Gardner, of Claremore; three brothers, John Daugherty, Jr., of Claremore, Rusty Daugherty of White Oak, and Steven Daugherty of Quapaw; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, September 30, at the Shawnee Cultural Center in White Oak.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 1, at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Vinita. Father Kenneth King will officiate. Interment will be in the Lewis Shawnee Cemetery, south of White Oak.
Services are under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home of Vinita.

NEVIN W. DODD JR.
COLUMBUS, Miss. - Nevin W. Dodd, Jr., age 59, died April 1, 2002 in Columbus, Miss., of throat cancer.
A former resident of Grove, he was born January 25, 1943 to Bernice and the late Nevin W. Dodd, M.D. He graduated from Edison High School in Tulsa, Okla., earned a nursing degree and a certification of registered nurse anesthetist, and was an anesthetist in several medical facilities in Grove, Jay, and Tulsa. He served in medical capacities with the Oklahoma Air National Guard and the U.S. Air Force, earning medals for service in Vietnam and Operation Desert Storm.
In 1994 he joined Prairie Anesthesia Associated in Columbus as a CRNA.
Survivors include: his mother, Bernice Dodd; a sister, Jean Dodd of Tulsa; a sister, Susan Dodd Jacobsen and her husband, Pete, of Arvada, Colo.; nephew, Dodd Jackson of Granby, Colo.; niece, Jordan Jacobsen of Westminster, Colo.; and his chosen family, loving companion Donna Garrison of Columbus; her children, Kasey Corcoran and her husband, Capt. Chuck Corcoran, of Mt. Home AFB, Ind., Megan Garrison of Columbus, Bert Rector, his wife, Stacy, and their daughter, Sophie, all of Columbus.
A memorial services will be held Friday, May 17, at 7 p.m., at the Southminster Presbyterian Church, 3500 S. Peoria, Tulsa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.

GARY R. DODDS
JAY, Okla. - Gary R. Dodds, age 59, former Parsons, Kan., resident now residing at Grand Lake, died at 6:20 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2002 at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He was diagnosed with cancer in March.
He was born March 16, 1943 in Oakland, Calif., to Charles R. and Erma M. (Weinman) Dodds and came to Parsons with his family when he was 10-days-old. He attended the Catholic Schools in Parsons and graduated from St. Patrick's High School in 1961.
After completing his schooling he began employment with the M-K-T Railroad. He worked several years as a carman and in 1982 became Master Mechanic. After the Union Pacific purchased the Katy, his job was manager of mechanical maintenance. He retired in 1994 and moved to the Grand Lake area in 1995.
He was a member of the former St. Mary's Catholic Church while living in Parsons, the Parsons Elks Lodge, and the Shangri-La Golf Club. He had many hobbies, and interests, including fishing, hunting, traveling, boating, and golfing. He loved to do landscaping projects and work with flowers. He did extensive carpentry work and spent most of his spare time helping family and friends with remodeling projects.
On September 1, 1962 he married Jeanine M. Temple in Neodesha.
Survivors include: his wife, Jeanine Dodds, of the home; one son, Gary R. Dodds II of Parsons; one daughter and son-in-law, Tami and Tim Ernesti of Overland Park, Kan.; four grandchildren, Gary R. Dodds III, Kayla Dodds, Rebecca Ernesti and Charles Dodds Ernesti; his parents, Charles and Erma Dodds of Parsons; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles "Skip" and Connie Dodds of Omaha, Neb.; four sisters, Karen Mills of Fowler, Kan., Lora Overby of Shawnee, Kan., Charlotte Friess and husband, Urban, of Parsons, and Cathy Kehl and husband, Allen, of Russellville, Ark.; several nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joe and Wilma Temple of Amarillo, Texas, Courtney and Carolyn Temple of Salina, Virginia and Ray Childress of Sepulveda, Calif., Catherine and David LaFallette of Granada Hills, Calif., and Judith and Don Floyd of Oveida, Fla. He was preceded in death by his wife's parents, Wayne and Martha Temple, and by a brother-in-law, Merle Temple.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with Rev. Robert Wachter officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home at 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, and the family will receive friends following the Rosary.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or to Parsons Katy Days. They may be sent to the Carson-Wall Funeral Home, P.O. Box 942, Parsons, KS 67357.

ANNA M. FILES DONAVANT
GROVE - Anna M. Files Donavant, age 73, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2002. Anna was born August 8, 1928 to William Elsa Files and Mary Ann Mosley in Tulsa, Okla. She attended Central High School and then business school. She was an executive secretary for 20 years with Union Oil Company. She was president of Green Country Bridge Club and a member of the First Christian Church in Grove. She loved boating, fishing, and to travel. In November 1989, Anna and Floyd Donavant were married at the First Christian Church in Grove. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Ronald Lindemann.
Survivors include: her husband, Floyd, of the home; two step-daughters, Cheryl Graham of Tulsa, and Julie Donavant of Portland, Ore.; one step-son, Larry Smith of Tulsa; two brothers, David E. Files and William E. Files, Jr., both of Tulsa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, at the First Christian Church in Grove. Anna was laid to rest at Buzzard Cemetery in Grove.
Services were under the direction of the Turner Funeral Chapel in Grove.

WILLIA DEAN DOTSON
SALINA, Okla. - Willia Dean Dotson, 67 of Salina, Okla., passed away July 16, 2002 in a Pryor medical facility. She was born March 30, 1935 in Spavinaw, Okla., the daughter of Charles and Iva (Martin) Sasser. She grew up in Spavinaw and attended school in Strang, Okla. After graduating high school in 1953, she married Poky Adams and to this union two sons were born. She worked not only as a homemaker for her family but as a waitress at Frosty's Restaurant in Langley, Okla., for a number of years. Through the years, wherever Willia Dean worked or went she made lasting friendships along the way. She and Gerald W. Dotson were married June 18, 1981 in Miami, Okla. Some of her favorite pastime activities were gardening and taking in all that nature had to offer. Spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren, was something she enjoyed doing. Her boys say she was a good cook and pecan pies were one of her specialties. She was a very loving person that will be missed.
He is survived by: Gerald W. Dotson of the home; two sons, Jack Adams and wife, Sarah, of Jay, Okla., and Charles Adams and wife, Carla, of Spavinaw, Okla.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Martha Harris of Spavinaw, Eldee Goins of Spavinaw, and Iva Lee Montgomery of Pryor, Okla.; three brothers, Kenneth Sasser of Wagoner, Okla., Robert Sasser of Langley, Okla., and Bobby Joe Sasser of Spavinaw. Two sisters and her parents preceded her in death.

ANNAS LEE CUMMINGS DOWNING
OAKS, Okla. - Funeral services for Annas Lee Cummings Downing, age 61, of Oaks, Okla., were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2002 at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Oaks with Reverends Sampson Leach and Peg Oetjen officiating. Burial followed at the Bill Batt Cemetery under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah, Okla.
Pallbearers were Eddie Asher, Sean Asher, Sam Downing, Jamie Settlemyre, Jeremy Downing, Joseph Downing, Don Coffee, Kenny Downing, and Bon Blossom. Honorary pallbearers were Cainan Lay, Austin Grant, Jaden Downing, Skyler Settlemyre, and Xander Mendia.
Mrs. Downing was born on October 1, 1940 at Rocky Ford, Okla., the daughter of Sampson and Lydia (Kingfisher) Cummings, and she passed from this life on Saturday, May 18, in Tulsa, Okla.
Annas grew up around Oaks graduating from Oaks High School and Northeastern State University. She was the first of 10 children to graduate. Annas taught herself to read and write Cherokee. In 1968 she met Robert F. Kennedy. She married Clarence Downing at Miami, Okla., in 1961. She worked for the Cherokee Nation Head Start program, retiring in 1994. Annas served on the National Indian Lutheran Board and was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, as well as Ebenezer Lutheran Church. She loved to play bingo, as well as reading, garage sales, and tutoring kids.
Mrs. Downing was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Vicki L. Christie; two brothers, William Blackbird and Wayne Cummings; and two sisters, Ella Mae Vann, and Mary Jane Fields.
Survivors include: her husband, Clarence Downing, of the home; one daughter, Janelle Settlemyre and husband, Steve Coffee, of West Siloam Springs, Okla.; two sons, Jimmie and wife, Nelda Downing, of Jay, Okla., and Timmie and wife, Claudina Downing, of Oaks; one son-in-law, Marvin Christie of Westville, Okla.; six grandsons, Sam, Jamie, Jeremy, Joseph, Don Aaron, and Kenny; three granddaughters, Amber, Shelly, and Cortney; two brothers, Dave Blackbird of Rocky Ford, and Joe Cummings of Tahlequah; three sisters, Florence Lyman of Catoosa, Okla., Sarah Lyman of Jay, and Lucille Walker of Tahlequah; six great-grandsons, Bon, Cainan, Austin, Jaden, Skyler, and Xander; one great-granddaughter, Lydia Paige; 21 nieces; 10 nephews, and a host of friends and loved ones.

EDDIE DRAKE
GRAVETTE, Ark. - Mr. Edward E. "Eddie" Drake, 61, of Southwest City, Mo., died Saturday, September 7, 2002 at 4:13 a.m. at Gravette Medical Center in Gravette after a sudden illness.
Eddie Drake was born on September 13, 1940 in Southwest City to the late Arthur "Ned" and Opal Maude (Burdick) Drake. He was of the Pentecostal faith. He was a life long member of the Southwest City community and a familiar face at all local auctions.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Emily Hanna, June Holztrichter and Minnie Bea West; one brother, Percy Drake; and one son, Ronnie Drake.
He married Geneva Bratton Clark on December 19, 1969. She survives of the home in Southwest City. Additional survivors include: three sons, Bob Clark and his wife, Lexie, of Jay, Okla., Edward Drake, Jr. and his wife, LaDawn, and Ivan Russell, all of Southwest City; three daughters, Lavita Harju and her husband, Lyle, of Wyandotte, Okla., Patty Renner and her husband, Gene, of Wagoner, Okla., and Terri Howerton and her husband, Scott, of Duson, La.; three brothers, Bill Drake of Afton, Okla., Henry Drake of Fairland, Okla., and George Drake of Covington, Okla.; three sisters, Mildred Warner of Southwest City, Dorothy Upton of Isabella, Mo., and Eva Daniels of Jay; 23 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Monday, September 9, at Oak Chapel Church in Southwest City, Rev. Wesley Robbins officiating. Burial followed in the Southwest City Cemetery.
Visitation was held Sunday, September 8, at the Ozark Funeral Home in Southwest City. .

IDAS H. DRAKE
TOPEKA, Kan. - Mr. Idas H. Drake, age 70, died Saturday, February 16, 2002 in the Topeka V.A. Hospital. Mr. Drake was born on November 22, 1931 in Delaware County, Okla., to Jesse Harrison and Bertha Mae (Butler) Drake. He graduated from Jay High School in Jay, Okla. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He attended Wichita State University. Mr. Drake attended New Hope Baptist Church of Topeka. He sold insurance for over 30 years as an independent agent. He also owned and managed rental properties. He was a member of the American Legion Capitol Post #1, the National Rifle Association, and the Sprint Car Association.
Mr. Drake married Laura L. Jaco on April 2, 1983 in Topeka.
Survivors include: his wife, Laura, of Topeka; three sons, Michael L. Drake of Topeka, Brandon L. Drake of Topeka, and Dallas A. Drake of Topeka; two daughters, Lisa G. Meyer of Topeka, and Jamie M. Drake of Topeka; and five grandchildren,
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m., Monday, February 25, at Southwest City, Mo. Burial will be at the Southwest City Cemetery in Southwest City.

KENNETH RAY DUNCAN
JAY, Okla. - Kenneth Ray Duncan, age 79, died Friday, February 8, 2002 at Southcrest in Tulsa, Okla. The son of Eugene Duncan and Winifred Vivian Thompson Duncan, he was born in Sycamore Springs, Okla., on July 24, 1922 and lived all his life in that community. Kenneth graduated from Jay High School, was a rancher, retired from the Lake Eucha Lake Patrol in 1985 after 22 years, and served for many years on the Jay School Board. Ken was a member of the Mt. Herman Church. He married Jewell Kathryn Smith and she preceded him in death on June 19, 1991. Kenneth loved all high school sports, especially girls basketball. He enjoyed attending stock sales, rodeos, and loved red trucks.
Survivors include: two children, Cecil Ray Duncan and his wife, Sheila Kay, of Jay, and Shirley Jean Richie and her husband, Clark, of Jay; two sisters, Della Mae Gann of Jay, and Edna Wynema Pearce of Sapulpa, Okla.; three grandchildren, Scott Ray Duncan, Melissa Richie, and Jennifer Richie; and five great-grandchildren, Corey Duncan, Kacie Duncan, Katelynn Duncan, Holly Duncan, and Taylor Duncan.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13, at Mt. Herman Church in Jay with Larry Kingfisher and Warren Shackleford officiating. The interment will be in the Mt. Herman Cemetery. There will be visitation for family and friends in the funeral home at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. The services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay.

JAMES DYER
GROVE - Mr. James Dyer, 80, of Grove, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2002 at Grove General Hospital after an extended illness. Mr. Dyer was born November 2, 1921 to Joe and Vernie Dyer of Springfield, Mo. He had one brother, Joe Dyer (deceased), and one sister, Lavina Crain (deceased). He was married to Mathelde (Mickey) Dyer, and she preceded him in death in July, 2001.
Mr. Dyer served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was employed by Shell Oil Co., Wilmington, Calif., and owned a painting business in Long Beach, Calif. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church, Springfield, Mo., and a charter member of the Elks Lodge in Grove.
Survivors are: a daughter and son-in-law, Joane and Peter Jones, of Bend, Ore., daughter and son-in-law Carroll and Gerald Golden of Big Sandy, Texas; son, Michael Nichols of Conroe, Texas; son, Michael Nichols of Conroe, Texas; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Memorials or contributions may be made to the Good Shepard Hospice of Grove in lieu of flowers. At Mr. Dyer's request, there will not be a memorial service and his body will be donated to the Anatomical Science Department in Oklahoma City, Okla.

JESSIE MAE EAGLE
GROVE - Jessie Mae Eagle, age 81, died Tuesday, January 15, 2002 at Grand Lake Villa, Grove.
Jessie Eagle was born on July 22, 1920 in Fairland, Okla., to David (Otis) and Emma Jane "Jenny" (McMindes) Cole. She married James M. Eagle in 1943. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Eagle was the owner of Braggs Ladies Wear for 40 years in Alhambra, Calif. She lived in Miami, Okla., from 1984 to 1991 before moving to Grove. She was a long time member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: two sisters, Dorothy Hudspeth, Afton, Okla., and Carolyn Arrowwood and husband, Don, of Lillian, Texas. She was a special aunt to numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 19, at the First United Methodist Church in Fairland with Reverend JoAnn Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in G.A.R. Cemetery, Miami. Visitation will be held Friday, January 18, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

JANICE DARLENE EAVES
GENTRY, Ark. - Janice Darlene Eaves, age 60, of Gentry, died Monday, February 11, 2002 at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. Born October 22, 1942 in Ventura, Calif., she lived most of her life in the Siloam Springs and Gentry area. Mrs. Eaves was formerly employed by Contel Phone Company and was currently employed by McKee Foods. She was a member of First Christian Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, in January 1999.
Survivors include: two sons, Terry and Lesa Eaves of Siloam Springs, and Michael and Angela Eaves of Bentonville, Ark.; two daughters, Kathy and Gene Evans of Fayetteville, Ark., and Carla and Dan Kallesen of Rogers, Ark.; six grandchildren, Lindsey and Ashley Eaves of Siloam Springs, Ethan Evans of Fayetteville, Danielle Kallesen of Rogers, Derek Evans of Fayetteville, and Logan Kallesen of Rogers; her parents, Ulas and Sadie Hollaway, of Siloam Springs; one brother, Bob Hollaway of Bentonville; and one sister, Joan Stalnaker, Republic, Mo.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, at First Christian Church of Siloam Springs with Pastor Larry Starbuck officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 576, Siloam Springs, AR 72761. Services are under the direction of the Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.
