FLOY M. ERVIN
GROVE - Floy Ervin, age 85, of Grove, died Monday, October 21, 2002 in the Grove General Hospital. The daughter of John and Catherine (Tyack) Adams, she was born on April 4, 1917 in Carrier, Okla. Floy married Robert Lee Ervin, who died in 1971.
She worked as a gas measurer for City Service. Floy was a direct descendent of John Adams, the second U.S. President. She was a member of the Sweet Annie Herb Club and a porcelain artist.
She is survived by: one daughter, Judy Sadler and husband, Larry, of Grove; two sisters, Dorothy Burgess and June Myers, both of Dewey, Okla.; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Her parents, husband and eight brothers preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, in the Chapel Hills Memorial Gardens in Oklahoma City, Okla. Services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove.

DANNIE WOODROE ESTERLINE
VINITA, Okla. - Dannie Woodroe Esterline, 44-year-old Vinita resident, passed away Monday, September 2, 2002 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa following an extended illness.
Dannie was born September 3, 1957 at Cushing, Okla., to Jack J. Esterline and Anna K. (Gowen) Esterline. Dannie came from Missouri to Vinita with his family in 1971. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Dannie is survived by: his mother, Anna K. Esterline of Vinita; his father, Jack J. Esterline of Ponca City; two sisters, Faye Chaloupek and husband, Darrell, of Owasso, and Sue Shaffer of Connecticut; two brothers, Jimmy Esterline and wife, Mary, of Adair, and Marty Esterline and wife, Vivian, of Kellyville; half-brother, Ben Esterline of California; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 6, at the Fairview Cemetery, Vinita. Rev. Eddie Wrinkle, pastor of the First Church of God, will officiate.
Services are under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home.

INA WEBB ESTES
LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Ina Webb Estes, 86, died Friday, September 6, 2002 at the University Medical Center, Las Vegas, Nev. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 13, at Carterville Cemetery, Carterville, Mo.
Ina Webb Estes was born on October 14, 1915 in Locust Grove, Okla. She worked as a cosmetologist during her lifetime. For the past 48 years she had lived in North Las Vegas, Nev.
Survivors include four daughters, Carolyn Crunk, Marilyn Blackwood, Judy Wilkes and Connie Lunt, all of Las Vegas, and one sister, Vera Spoerlein of Calif. Also surviving are five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services are entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home, 107 S. Broadway, Grove.

DONALD ETRIS
DECATUR, Ark. - Donald Etris, age 62, of Decatur, Ark., died Thursday, May 16, 2002 at Northwest Medical Center, Springdale, Ark.
Born September 21, 1939 in Decatur, he was the son of Loy Etris and Alice Weeks Etris. He was a lifetime resident of the Decatur and Gentry, Ark., area. He was a director and member of Tired Iron of the Ozarks and President of Tri-State Singing Convention. He was a member of Falling Springs Church, Northwest Arkansas Gospel Singers Association, and was a retired volunteer fireman. He married Nelva Sue Hendren on June 19, 1959.
Survivors include: his wife, Nelva Sue, of the home; one son, Tim Etris and wife, Denise, of Decatur; two daughters, Marsha Swarengin and husband, Russell, of Noel, Mo., and Sue Ann Chenault and husband, Clay, of Prairie Grove, Ark.; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Ron Etris and wife, Velma, of Van Buren, Ark., and Warren "Butch" Etris and wife, Katherine, of Dardanelle, Ark.; one sister, Linda Shaffer and husband, Buddy, of Decatur; a number of nieces and nephews; and mother-in-law, Elva Hendren of Jay, Okla.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, May 20, at First Baptist Church Decatur with Mark Rotrammel and Brother Bill Wright officiating. Burial followed at Falling Springs Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to Falling Springs Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 325, Decatur, AR 72722.
Services were under the direction of the Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, Ark.

JOHNNY DALE EVANS
LEACH, Okla. - Funeral services for Johnny Dale Evans, 13, of Leach, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Lowery Free Will Baptist church at Twin Oaks, Okla.
Rev. Lance Rogers and Rev. Utah Humphrey will officiate and burial will follow in the Kansas Cemetery, Kansas, Okla., with services under the direction of the Jones-Key Funeral Home of Locust Grove, Okla.
Johnny was born on July 29, 1989 in Springdale, Ark. He died on August 14 at his home in Leach.
The son of Duane and Barbara (Anderson) Evans, he grew up in the Leach Community and attended school at Leach and Kansas. He loved church and school. Johnny was a member of the Lowery Free Will Baptist Church. Having just turned 13 two weeks ago, being a teenager was a very big deal to him. He loved popcorn and sunflower seeds and participated in the Special Olympics.
He is survived by his parents, Duane and Barbara Evans, of the home; two brothers, Brian Evans of Leach and Greg Evans of the home; four sisters, Shelly Phifer and husband, B.J., of Leach, Mark Oakball and husband, Ken, of Leach, Shonda Foreman and husband, Tim, of Oaks, and Sasha Evans of the home; maternal grandmother, Nellie Anderson of Leach; paternal grandparents, Norman and Louise Evans of Leach; two nieces and seven nephews; and a host of friends.
Friends are contributing to the building fund of the Lowery Free Will Baptist Church, P.O. Box 155, Twin Oaks, OK 74368.

LLOYD I. 'JERRY' EVANS, JR.
PONCA CITY, Okla. - Lloyd I. "Jerry" Evans, Jr., longtime Ponca City resident, died early Sunday morning, June 23, 2002 at Via Christi Oklahoma Regional Medical Center, Ponca City. He was 74.
A Requiem Eucharist was celebrated Wednesday, June 26, at 2 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church with the Rev. Kenneth Armstrong, rector, as celebrant, assisted by the Rev. Steven Mallory, deacon. Entombment followed in the Ponca City Mausoleum under the direction of the Trout Funeral Home.
Jerry was born Aug. 25, 1927 in Cody, Wyo., the son of Lloyd Ivan and Mary Kathryn Cecilia Riley Evans. He attended schools in Cody,graduating from Cody High School in 1945. He was accepted in the Navy V-12 program attending Doane College in Crete, Neb., and Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind. During his tour of duty with the Navy in the Pacific, he served with the occupation forces of Japan. He graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
Jerry began work as an engineer with the Halliburton Company and originally came to Oklahoma when he was transferred to Guymon in 1953. Subsequently, he was employed by Tri-State Construction of Oklahoma City. In April of 1960, Evans and Jim Throop co-founded the highway construction firm of Evans & Throop Construction. In Dec. of 1974, Evans purchased the outstanding stock from Throop and the company became Evans & Associates Construction Co., Inc. The parent company, Evans & Associates Enterprises, Inc. has subsidiary operations currently in Ponca City, Alva, Enid, Waukomis, Perry, Stillwater, Bartlesville, Miami, Fairland, Grove, Lawton, Altus, Snyder, Oklahoma City and Southwest City, Mo.
On Oct. 7, 1961 Jerry married Patricia Jane Perdue in Ponca City.
Jerry held lifetime memberships in the American Legion, Masonic Lodge, National Rifle Association, Ponca City Rotary Club and the University of Wyoming Alumni Association. He was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church where he served on the church board, as Senior Warden and as a member of the Vestry.
He had received his 50 year pin from Ponca Lodge #83 A.F. & A.M., and held memberships in the India Shrine Temple in Oklahoma City and the Royal Order of Jesters, Tulsa Court #47. He was both a Scottish Rite and York Rite Mason.
In the past, Evans has served on the boards of the Oklahoma State Chamber of Commerce and the Ponca City Chamber of Commerce, serving as its President in 1977. He was a past member of the Board of Governors of the National Asphalt Pavement Association, the Oklahoma Asphalt Pavement Association and the Associated General Contractors. He was also a member of the VFW, Elks Lodge #2002, Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity Circle, Cannon Cockers of Lawton and the USS Pine Island AV-12 Association.
In 1966-1967 he was named "Boss of the Year" by the Chamber of Commerce. In 1986 he received the University of Wyoming Distinguished Alumni Award and in 1999 he was named Outstanding Citizen by the Ponca City Chamber of Commerce.
He was presently serving on the Boards of the Marland Estate Foundation, Ponca City Police Foundation, University Learning Center, Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence, Charles Russell Center and was a director of Pioneer Bank & Trust. He was also a Trustee of the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, serving as Chairman of the Cody Firearms Museum in Cody, Wyoming.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Pat, of the home; a son, Bruce Michael Evans of Ponca City, a son, Lloyd Lee Evans and his wife, Laura, of Ponca City; three grandchildren, Adam Evans of Oklahoma City, Kimberly Evans of Ponca City, and Lloyd Lee Evans, Jr. of Ponca City; and a host of friends and employees. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Thomas Stewart Evans.
Casket bearers were Fred Boettcher, George Brown, Charles Casey, Ike Glass, Steve Moore, Richard Moore, and Carl Renfro. Honorary casket bearers were Chester Armstrong, Joe Burns, Jack Bowker, David Beard, Mike Fretwell, Raymond Ham, Ken Holmes, Warren Hunter, Ken Matheson, Jim McNeese, Bill Moore, Tom Muchmore, C.D. Northcutt, Bill Rodgers, Tom Sigler, Employees of Evans and Associates Enterprises, Outstanding Citizens of Ponca City, and the Board of Directors of Pioneer Bank and Trust.
Memorials may be made to Grace Episcopal Church, 109 N. 13th, Ponca City, OK 74601, Buffalo Bill Historical Center, c/o George Mongon, 720 Sheridan Ave., Cody, WY 82414, or to the University Learning Center, P.O. Box 1473, Ponca City, OK 74602.

MARY E. FAIRRES
COLCORD, Okla. - Mary E. Fairres, age 77, of Colcord, Okla., died Tuesday, May 7, 2002 at her home. Born July 24, 1924 in Maysville, Ark., she was the daughter of Jake Thompson and Iva Johnson Thompson. Mary had been in Colcord for over 30 years and was a former resident of California. She married Raymond Fairres at Colcord in 1942 and was a homemaker.
Survivors include: her husband, Raymond, of the home; one sister, Lillie Hubbard of Portland, Ore.; and one foster son, Kevin Goodwill of Colcord.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 9, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, Ark. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 10, at Row Cemetery in Colcord with Mr. Larry Ellis officiating. Burial will follow.

IDA JANET FEASTER
GROVE - Ida Janet Feaster, age 89, died Friday, March 29, 2002 in the Grand Lake Villa Nursing Center. The daughter of Isaac and Ida (Forbs) Cooper, she was born on July 20, 1912 in Neosho, Mo. Ida married Haden Feaster and he preceded her in death in 1987. They moved to the Grove area in 1971. Ida had worked as a nurse's aid.
Survivors include: Betty Hixon of Grove; two grandchildren,; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was at the graveside in the Union Cemetery near Anderson, Mo., at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 4. Reverend Sam Carper officiated.
The services were under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

C. RUSSELL FERGUSON
TWIN OAKS, Okla. - Funeral services for C. Russell Ferguson, age 85, of Twin Oaks, Okla., will be held Sunday, May 5, 2002 at 3 p.m. at the Lowery Free Will Baptist Church in Twin Oaks. The Rev. Doug Carey will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kansas Cemetery in Kansas, Okla. Services are under the direction of Key Funeral Home in Locust Grove, Okla.
Mr. Ferguson was born July 10, 1916 east of Siloam Springs, Ark., in the Chamber Springs community, and passed away May 1 at his home in Twin Oaks.
The son of James and Purlina (Sisk) Ferguson, when he was a boy he and his family moved to the Oaks community where he attended and graduated from Oaks School. Russell was a retired dairy farmer and a charter member of the Lowery Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for 35 years. He was a choir member for over 50 years. During those years he also served at various times as a Sunday School teacher and Sunday School superintendent, bass quartet singer and a board of trustee member.
Survivors include: his wife, Lucille Smith Ferguson, of the home; a daughter, Sharon Eagleton and husband, J.C., of Oaks, Okla.; a son, Dan Ferguson and wife, Vicki, of Grapevine, Texas; a sister, Buena Cashion of Siloam Springs, Ark.; grandchildren, Terri Eagleton Fanning and husband, Dean, Deana Ferguson, Danny Ferguson, Rusty Ferguson and wife, Stacy, and Shelli Eagleton; step-grandchildren, Shantel Dubose, and Scott Parker and wife, Tracy; great-grandchildren, Jamie Ferguson, Tanner Ferguson, Reese Ferguson, and Kasen and Jayger Fanning; step-great-grandchildren, Zakkary Dubose, and Morgan and Orrin Parker; sisters-in-law, Lillian Ferguson, Dixie Ferguson, Jewel Ferguson Glaze, Hazel Rowell Decker and Elizabeth Rowell; and several nieces and nephews.
His wife of 49 years, Einga Rowell Ferguson; wife of 12 years, Eula Reed Ferguson; his parents; three brothers, Ira, Ed, and Clessie; and four sisters, Nettie, Ora, Atha, and Lottie preceded him in death.
The family request donations be made to the Lowery Free Will Church Building Fund in lieu of flowers.

BYRDA FAYE FIELDS
GROVE - Byrda Faye Fields, age 76, died Wednesday, February 6, 2002 at Grove General Hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 9, at Butler Baptist Church with Rev. Dolphus Blevins officiating, Burial will follow at Southwest City Cemetery, Southwest City, Mo.
Byrda Fields was born March 15, 1925 in Delaware County, Okla., to Bill and Ora (Brewer) Hendren. She resided in Highland, Calif., from 1945 to 1983. She returned to the Grove area in 1983. She married Eldo Fields on February 16, 1982. Mrs. Fields was a homemaker and a member of the Butler Baptist Church.
Survivors include: her husband, Eldo Fields, of Grove; her daughter, Janet and husband, Allen, of St. George, Utah; her son, Larry Miller of Grove; one granddaughter, Nicole Miller of Crestline, Calif.; three stepsons, Scott Fields of Little Rock, Ark., Jeff Fields of Elk City, Okla., and Steven Fields of Augusta, Kan.; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Mrs. Fields was preceded in death by a husband, Norman Miller, on August 20, 1983, two sisters, and one brother.
Services are entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home, 107 S. Broadway, Grove.
