MARLA LEGGETT FIELDS
GROVE - Marla Leggett Fields, age 41, of Grove, formerly of Keokuk, Iowa, died Saturday, January 12, at her home in Grove.
She was born February 1, 1960 in Keokuk, the daughter of Claude Leggett and Rose Marie Mork Leggett. She married Michael Fields on July 19, 1980 in Grove. He survives.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Melissa Diane Fields of Grove; her mother, Rose Marie DePew and husband, Scott, of Keokuk; her father, Claude Leggett and companion, Esther Henchal, of Chanute, Kan.; two sisters, Linda Parish of Iowa City, Iowa, and Claudia Wuan of Norton, Ohio; two brothers, James Leggett of Wasilla, Ala., and Carl Leggett of Illinois; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Marla graduated from Keokuk High School in Keokuk with the Class of 1979 and was a member of the high school Swim Team. She moved to Grove in 1979. She was of the Baptist faith. Marla loved music and the outdoors and enjoyed playing softball. She was a loving mother and her life revolved around her daughter.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 18, at the Sunset Memorial Park in Keokuk with Pastor Dale Thomas officiating.
Visitation will be held after 1 p.m. Thursday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with the family meeting with friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Keokuk.

DONNA FISHER
JOPLIN, Mo. - Donna Fisher, age 62, of Joplin, Mo. passed away at 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2002 at the Meadows Care Center in Joplin following nine months of ill health. Mrs. Fisher was born June 8, 1940 to Ralph and Dorothy Kitchen in Miami, Okla. She was raised in the Miami-Grove area and moved to Joplin a year ago after spending 16 years in Macon, Ga. She was employed in restaurant service.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Jerry Baldridge in 1979.
She is survived by three sons, Gerry 'J.R.' Fisher, Mickiney, Texas; Rich Fisher, Okla. City, Okla.; and Bobby Fisher, Macon, Ga.; one daughter, Sundae Wade, Joplin Mo.; two brothers, Ralph 'Sunny' Kitchen Jr., Baltimore, Maryland; Bobby Kitchen, Sneads Ferry, N.C.; and one sister, Nancy Johnson, Grove; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday at the Olympus Cemetery, in Grove with Pastor Wes Davis, officiating. Family visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Monday evening at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary in Joplin, Mo.

KENNETH LESTER FLETCHER
GROVE - Kenneth Lester Fletcher, age 76, died January 1, 2002 at the Integris Grove General Hospital.
Mr. Fletcher was born May 23, 1925 in Missouri. He served in the United States Army. He has lived in Grove for 10 years, moving from Wichita, Kan. He sold real estate in Wichita. He married Juanita Fletcher February 5, 1999 in Bernice, Okla. One sister, Verbal Banks, preceded him in death.
Survivors include: his wife, Juanita Fletcher; eight step-children, Reece Moman of Grove, Gary Bushyhead of Arkansas City, Kan., Jan Stacey of Ardmore, Okla., Judy Rhodes of Southaven, Miss., Kevin Moman of Winfield, Kan., Kelly Moman of Wichita, Lisa Piland of Commerce, Okla., and Jill Kirk of Grove; two nieces; several step-grandchildren and a host of loving friends and relatives.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, January 4, at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove. Rev. Dolphus Blevins to officiate. Interment will be at Butler Cemetery. The Grove Veterans Ritual will conduct military Rites. Family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday.

LaDEEN FLOWERS
GROVE - LaDeen Flowers, 90, died Tuesday, November 19, 2002, at Grove General Hospital. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 23, at the First United Methodist Church, Grove, with Rev. Dick Weaver officiating. Burial will follow at Olympus Cemetery.
LaDeen Flowers was born on May 7, 1912, in Lookeba, Okla., to John Henry and Daisy (McDowell) Wilson. She married Ralph Flowers on December 31, 1938, in El Reno, Okla. She was an artist and homemaker during her lifetime. Mrs. Flowers had lived in Grove for 20 years, coming from Oklahoma City. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Grove.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph, Grove, and several nephews and cousins. Mrs. Flowers was preceded in death by one sister, Cleora Wilson, in 1988, and one brother, Mack Wilson, in 1989.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Grove.
Services are entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home, 107 S. Broadway, Grove, 786-5172.

RALPH F. FLOWERS
GROVE - Ralph F. Flowers, 95, died Tuesday, December 17, 2002, at Grove Nursing Center. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, December 19, at the First United Methodist Church, grove, with Rev. Dick Weaver officiating. Interment will follow at Olympus Cemetery.
Ralph Forrest Flowers was born on July 15, 1907 in Indian Territory, NM, to Scott H. and Elizabeth (Clark) Flowers. He married LaDeen Wilson on December 31, 1938, in El Reno, Okla. He worked as a supervisor in the building of grain storage tanks.
Survivors include: one sister, Jewel Ulbright, Houston, Texas; one brother, Lawrence Flowers, Oklahoma City, Okla.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services are entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home, 107 S. Broadway, Grove.

BESSIE ANN FOLEY
NOWATA, Okla. - Bessie Ann Foley, age 100, and a Nowata resident, died early Wednesday morning, February 13, 2002 in the Heritage Village Nursing Center at Bartlesville.
Funeral services for Mrs. Foley were at 10 a.m. Friday, February 15, in the First Baptist Church at Nowata. Reverend Paul Thompson officiated and interment was in Bartlesville Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Service of Nowata.
Bessie Ann Foley began this life March 17, 1901 in Golden, Mo., as the daughter of Ira Rardin and Della Benton Rardin. She moved from Missouri with her family in a covered wagon to Grove, where she received her education and later served as Postmaster. She met and later united in marriage with David Bee Foley, Sr., on September 4, 1919 at Grove. They later moved to Tulsa, Okla., then to Hominy, Okla., and to Nowata in 1963. Mrs. Foley was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nowata. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, playing the piano, and continued working crossword puzzles and cryptograms in the newspaper every day, even after she reached 100 years of age.
Mrs. Foley is survived by one son, Alvin Wayne Foley and his wife, Gwen, of Kellyville, Okla.; three daughters, Paula Gallier and her husband, Sam, of Grove, Bobbie Ruth East of Tulsa, Okla., and Alice Nave and her husband, Leonard, of Ochelata, Okla.; two daughters-in-law, Opal Foley of Nowata, and Thelma Foley of Fort Worth, Texas; 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Foley was preceded in death by her husband, David Bee Foley, Sr., on October 12, 1982, two sons, Brady Ray "Bud" Foley, and David Bee Foley, Jr., both in the year 2000, her parents, Ira and Della Rardin, three brothers, and four sisters.

LOUIS E. FOLKESTAD
GROVE - Louis E. Folkestad, age 77, died Wednesday, April 3, 2002 at Missouri Rehab Center in Mt. Vernon, Mo. Private family services will be held at a later date in Mitchell, Iowa.
Louis Folkestad was born on May 22, 1924 in Albert Lee, Minn., to Edward A. and June (Russell) Folkestad. He married Fern Tabor on December 11, 1943, they were married for 58 years. Mr. Folkestad worked as an appraiser and was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Fern, of Grove; one daughter, Lori Ann Daughtrey of Fort Belvoir, Va.; and four grandchildren, Nicholas, Aaron, Adam, and Cayley.
Services are entrusted to the Ellis Family Funeral Home in Grove.

JUANITA FAY FOOTE
LANGLEY, Okla. - Juanita Fay Foote, age 72, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2002 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Okla.
Juanita was born March 14, 1930 in Topsy, Okla., near Round Springs Creek, to Floyd Horton and Drucilla Baskins. She attended school at Requah and Strang High School. On September 16, 1948 Juanita and W.J. Foote Jr. were united in marriage. The couple has been married for 53 years. Juanita enjoyed hobbies of painting and ceramics. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Spavinaw, Okla.
Survivors include: her husband, W.J. Foote, of the home; three sons, Kenneth Ray and Marsha Foote of Tulsa, Troy G. Foote of Tulsa, and Larry and Joyce Foote of Spavinaw; five grandchildren; and one half brother, Leroy Horton.
The family will receive friends and relatives Friday, May 17, between 6 and 8 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Chapel in Langley. Services will be held Saturday, May 18, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Spavinaw. Juanita will be laid to rest at the Spavinaw Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of the Turner Funeral Chapel in Langley.

WILLA (BILLY) DEAN FORD
JAY, Okla. - Willa (Billy) Dean Ford, age 73, met her lord February 2, 2002 at Grove General Hospital. Billy was born March 23, 1928 in Delaware County, Okla., to William A. Ford and Nancy Ann Foreman Ford.
Survivors include: one brother, Oliver Ford, and one sister, Meada Underwood, both of Jay; four nieces, Shirley Morgan, Treva Shields, Verline Stephens, and Mickie Clark; 10 great nieces, and nephews.
Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 4, at Turner Funeral Chapel in Jay. Services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, at Brush Creek Baptist Church in Jay. Billy will be laid to rest at Duffield Cemetery. Services under the direction of Turner Funeral Chapel in Jay.

PATRICIA 'PAT' MARIE FOSTER
GROVE - Patricia "Pat" Marie Foster, 73, died Friday, July 26, 2002 at Grove General hospital after a lengthy illness.
Patricia Foster was born on November 8, 1928 in Somerville, Mass., to James Henry and Marjorie (Pender) Miler. She worked in housekeeping at Integris Grove General and was a cook at Betty Ann Nursing Center before her retirement.
Mrs. Foster moved to the Grove area in 1969 from Belle Plaine, Kan. She was a member of Carr Baptist Church.
Survivors include: three sons, David Foster and wife, Janram, of Overland Park, Kan., William "Bill" Foster and wife, Donna, of Springfield, La., and Stephen C. Foster, Cold Springs, Texas; one daughter, Charlene J. Nugen and husband, Roy E. "Gene", Grove. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Keven E. Nugen, Amy M. Foster, Ryan C. Foster and Haiden S. Foster; three great grandchildren, Tailor S. Nugen, Trevor D. Nugen and Taryn S. Nugen; one brother, James "Donald" Miller, Toledo, Ohio; two sisters, Marjorie "Boofie" Allen, Ware Shoals, S.C., and Geraldine "Geri" Watkins, Hanford, Calif.
Mrs. Foster was preceded in death by Leroy D. Foster, Jack F. Carroll, and Claude "Doc" Foster; one brother, John Pender Miller, and one sister, Marilyn M. Markham.
Memorial Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, at Cayuga Mission Church, with her son, Rev. William Foster, officiating.
Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove.

MAXINE BUZZARD FOX
JAY, Okla. - Maxine Buzzard Fox, of Jay, departed this life Tuesday, April 23, 2002 at her home in Jay. She was 72.
Maxine was born January 6, 1930 to Jackson and Ollie Buzzard in Anderson, Mo. She was a member of the Hillside Baptist Church. She gave her life to the Lord at an early age. She was also a member of the Cherokee Nation. Maxine married Willie Fox on March 1, 1958, he preceded her in death on June 26, 1991. She was a homemaker and enjoyed the outdoor life, making dolls and other crafts. Best of all was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include: two sons, Billy Ray Fox of Centerton, Ark., and Richard Fox of Sedalia, Mo.; seven daughters, Wilma Sue Kirby, Linda Hawk, Marcie Davis, Marcella Fox, Wanda Davis, Darlene Fox, all of Jay, and Beverly Fox of Colcord, Okla.; 26 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one brother, Jackie Teague; and two sisters-in-laws, Mary Rogers, and Bertha Teague, both of Jay.
Services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, at the Hillside Baptist Church with Rev. Lewis Ross officiating. Burial will be at the Round Springs Cemetery.
The services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay.
