HARVEY JAMES GATLIN
TULSA, Okla. - Harvey James Gatlin, 50-year-old well known Vinita resident, died early Sunday morning, August 11, 2002 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. Harvey was born October 14, 1951 in Waco, Texas, to Walter Massey Gatlin and Helen (White) Gatlin. He was a graduate of Vinita High School in 1969, University of Oklahoma graduate in 1973, and received his Master's of Divinity at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He also was a C.P.A.
Harvey married Kathleen Hankins on May 17, 1975 in Vinita, and lived most of his life in Vinita. He had lived in Kansas City for a short period and in Grove, where he was an education and youth minister. Harvey taught school in Vinita for 11 years, teaching math and computers, and started the gifted and talented program. He had also served on the Vinita School Board and had been director of music at First Baptist Church in Vinita and Cleora Baptist Church. Harvey was currently employed by KAMO Power as Director of Finance. He was a member of White Oak Baptist Church, where he was also a deacon and music director.
The family includes his wife, Kathleen, of Vinita; two daughters, Edythe Gatlin of Oklahoma City, and Leah Gatlin of Vinita; his mother, Helen Gatlin, of Vinita; brother, Andy Gatlin and wife, Rosie, of Toronto, Canada; two brothers-in-law, Sam Hankins and wife, Diana, of Grove, and Richard Hankins and wife, Carmen, of Shady Shores, Texas; six nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter, who died on January 4, 1975.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, August 14, at 3:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Vinita with Rev. Leland Bartlett, Mr. Barry Denney, and Mr. Chris Cariker officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairland Cemetery in Fairland, Okla.
Memorials may be made to the Leah Gatlin College Fund at First National Bank in Vinita, or the White Oak Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.

DANIEL BRANDON GENTRY
KANSAS, Okla. - Daniel Brandon Gentry, an 18-year-old of Kansas, died Saturday, August 24, 2002 in Muskogee, Okla. Daniel was born April 6, 1984, in Pryor, Okla. He was the son of David and Diane Gentry. Daniel was a 2002 Oaks High School graduate, and was currently a student at Connors State University at Warner. He attended Lowery Freewill Baptist Church in Twin Oaks, Okla.
Survivors include: his mother and father, David and Diane Gentry, of Kansas; one sister, Danae Michelle Gentry of Kansas; one brother, Darren Brian Gentry of Kansas; paternal grandmother, Elsie Gentry of Oaks, Okla.; maternal grandparents, Everett and Christine Graves of Kansas; one great grandmother, Ellar Baker of Kansas; two uncles, Steve Gentry and his wife, Rhonda, of Rogers, Ark. and Dale Graves and his wife, Sharon, of Kansas; cousins, Stacy Honea of Summers, Ark., Andrew Gentry of Rogers, Riley, Rebekah and Patrick Graves of Kansas, Karina Smith of Edmond, Okla., and Jared Smith of Tulsa, Okla; and many great aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Clarence Frank Gentry.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 28, at Kansas Christian Church with Rev. Joe Wilkerson officiating. Burial will follow at Kansas Cemetery in Kansas, Okla. Arrangements by Wasson Funeral Home.

LOYD THOMAS GIBE
JAY, Okla. - Loyd Thomas Gibe, age 74, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2002 at Monroe Manor Nursing Center in Jay. Loyd was born February 23, 1928 in the Deerlick Community in Jay, to Tom Gibe and Bertha Harris. Loyd served his country from November 6, 1952 until February 2, 1956 in the U.S. Army. During his service he received the United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He operated a business in Grove for 20 years and retired from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Grove.
Loyd was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita, and a grandson, Mason Don Gibe.
Survivors include: two sons, Steve Gibe of Jay, and Mike Gibe of Jay; a daughter, Teri Wood of Chouteau, Okla.; two brothers, Kenneth Gibe and David Gibe, both of Jay; three sisters, Allene Berry and Bonnie Henderson, both of Jay, and Lola Williamson of St. Charles, Mo.; five grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
Services were held graveside at Indianola Cemetery Saturday, May 18, at 2 p.m. Larry Kingfisher officiated.
Services were under the direction of the Turner Funeral Chapel in Jay.

CHARLES E. GIBSON
COWETA, Okla. - Charles Edmond Gibson, age 55, passed this life at his home on Thursday, March 14, 2002 while surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Charles was born to Edmond and Frances (Bound) Gibson on December 27, 1946 in Delaware, Okla. In 1974, Charles married Janice Marie Robinson in Poway, Calif. He was a Radio Shack Technician and worked in the repair center for over 23 years. Charles later went to work as a audio-visual specialist for the Broken Arrow Public Schools. He was a technical-minded person, extremely computer literate, and he could repair anything that plugged into the wall.
Charles was a Vietnam Veteran and he served in the United States Navy for seven years as an electronics technician and quickly attained the rank of E-6. He served aboard the U.S.S. Ticonderoga CVS-14; at Cam Rahn Bay, Vietnam; Naval Air Station at Agana Guam and Lemoore Naval Air Station in Lemoore, Calif. In addition, Charles received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one bronze star, and the Good Conduct Medal. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Val Gibson.
Survivors include: his wife, Janice Gibson, of Coweta; three daughters, Sue-Anna Miller and husband, Jason, of Norman, Okla., Malinda Boston and husband, Damon, currently stationed at Ft. Knox, Ky., and Kara Gibson, of the home; three sisters, Jean Bohannan, Helen Bergman and Joyce Gibson, all of Grove, Okla.; five grandchildren, Deidre, Alan and Bryon Stice, and Curtis and Lahna Boston. Special brother-in-law, Charlie, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, March 16 at the First Christian Church in Coweta with Frank Miller officiating. Services are under the direction of the Shipman Funeral Home & Crematory in Wagoner.
The family requests memorials to be made to The Dream Foundation, who made it possible to grant Charles' last wish to take him and his family to Disney World in Florida. Contributions may be made to: The Dream Foundation at 621 Chapala St., Suite D, Santa Barbara, CA 93101.

LOLA A. GILES
FAIRLAND, Okla. - Lola A. Giles, age 76, passed away at 5:10 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2002 at Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas.
Mrs. Giles was born December 15, 1925 in Bluejacket, Okla. to Joseph and Rose Mays. She was a homemaker and had lived in Fairland since 1958 moving from rural Commerce. She was a member of the Lone Star Baptist Church and loved gardening and flowers. She married Gerald Giles June 17, 1944 in Columbus, Kan.
Survivors include: her husband, Gerald Giles; five sons and their wives, Glenn Giles of Afton, Okla., Wayne and Peggy Giles, Miami, Okla., Larry and Terri Giles, Fairland, James and Janda Giles, Fairland, David and Debbie Giles, Bluejacket, Okla.; two daughters, Marijane Williams, Commerce, Okla., Paula Corbin and husband, Jim, Seneca, Mo.; two brothers, Leslie Mays, Buckner, Mo., Kenneth Mays, Miami, Okla.; one sister, Evelyn Speer, Bluejacket, Okla.; 21 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a great grandson. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at Lone Star Baptist Church with Rev. Chuck Price, Rev. Kevin Burns and Rev. Herschel Barnes officiating. Burial will be held in Bluejacket Cemetery, Bluejacket, Okla. under the direction of Adcock Funeral Home, Fairland, Okla., Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Donations can be made to the American Heart Association. Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, at the Adcock Funeral Home in Fairland, Okla.

MARTY JAY GLASS
COLCORD, Okla. - Marty Jay Glass, 40-year-old resident of the Centerpoint Community near Colcord, was pronounced dead at the Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital Saturday, July 13, 2002 as the result of a motorcycle accident which occurred West of Siloam Springs on U.S. 412.
Born in Siloam Springs September 24, 1961, the son of Louis M. and Phyllis Allen Glass, he was a life resident of Delaware County, Okla.
Mr. Glass was a plant maintenance and automobile mechanic and a former employee of McKee Foods, Jim Ray Motor Co. of Fayetteville, and SWPCO of Springdale. He was a member of the Colcord Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, Carlton Glass, and one daughter, Kori Diane Glass, both of the home; two brothers, Doug Glass and Ritchie Glass, both of Colcord; and one sister, Nicole Pair of Siloam Springs.
Graveside services were held Monday, July 15, with Pastor Larry Ellis officiating. Burial followed in the Dickson Cemetery. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

FORREST HENRY GLENN
COLCORD, Okla. - Forrest Henry Glenn, 72, of Colcord, died July 9, 2002 at Washington Regional Medical Center, Fayetteville, Ark.
Born December 14, 1929 in Colcord, he was the son of Henry Glenn and Gladys Moyer Glenn.
Mr. Glenn worked for Franklin Electric prior to his retirement and was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Union Church.
Survivors include one brother, Billy Dean Glenn and wife, Norma, of Colcord; four sisters, Helen Londagin and Neva Glenn, both of Colcord, Virginia Eaton and husband, Vern, of Springdale, Ark., and Wilma Staab and husband, Jack, of Tulsa, Okla.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 12, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Siloam Springs, Ark., with Larry Ellis officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark.

IVAN H. GODBERSON
GROVE - Ivan Henry Godberson, long time Ponca City resident and a resident of the Grove Nursing Center, went home to his Lord and Savior Tuesday, October 8, 2002. He was 92 years of age.
A graveside service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, October 11, in Ponca City at the IOOF Cemetery with Pastor Russell Aday officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
Ivan was born in Osage County July 2, 1910, the son of Chris and Mary (Richey) Godberson and the eighth of nine children. The family moved to a farm northwest of Ponca City in 1918 where Ivan grew up and attended Excelsor School. He was the second class to graduate from Ponca City High School in 1929. On April 11, 1936, he and Jennie Huffstutter were united in marriage in Winfield, Kan. They farmed until Ivan went to work for Conoco Oil Company in 1940. He retired in 1973 after 33 years of dedicated service. At the time of his retirement he was Transportation Supervisor.
The couple moved to Bella Vista, Ark., in 1975 and after enjoying 11 years, returned to their hometown of Ponca City in 1986. Ivan loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening and keeping an immaculate lawn.
Survivors include: one daughter, Janice Parker and her husband, Donus, of Grove; two sons, Jack Ivan Godberson and his wife, Carolyn, Ponca City, and Gerald Chris Godberson of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren, Sheri Parker Kraemer of Edmond, Teresa Parker Ellis of Stillwater, Samantha Godberson Mendes of Hanford, Calif., Justin Godberson of Oklahoma City, Mike Godberson of Pawnee, Mark Godberson of Ponca City, and Rayan Godberson of Stillwater; eight great grandchildren: Derek Kraemer of Edmond, Gage and Gaven Godberson of Pawnee, Jacob and Joshua Ellis of Stillwater, Michaela Mendes of Hanford, Calif., and Cole and Kaitlyn Godberson of Ponca City, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Jennie C. Godberson, his wife of 59 years, and one son, Jimmie Dale Godberson, his parents, four brothers and four sisters.
Honorary casket bearers will be his grandchildren, Sheri Parker Kraemer, Teresa Parker Ellis, Samantha Godberson Mendes, Justin Godberson, Mark Godberson, Mike Godberson, and Rayan Godberson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Godberson's name may be made to Hospice of Ponca City, 1904 North Union, Suite 103, Ponca City, OK 74601.
The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church Assembly Center at 10:30 following the service.

ALICE "RAYNER' GOINS
FAIRLAND, Okla. - Alice "Rayner" Goins, long-time resident of Fairland, passed away Tuesday morning, June 18, 2002, at the Fairland Nursing Home, after an extended illness. She was 91 years old.
Ms. Goins was born April 30, 1910 in Fairland to App and Charlotte Roycroft Goins. She was a graduate of the Fairland High School, Class of 1930. Ms. Goins worked for Dr. Carson in Fairland as a Certified Nurse Aide for over 34 years. In later years, with her love of caring for people, she began working at the Fairland Nursing Home, cleaning linens for the residences living there. She continued to work for 10 more years, before retiring. Although, Ms. Goins never had children of her own, she was always surrounded with a loving family of nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. She was an active member of the First Christian Church of Fairland.
Ms. Goins was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters.
Survivors include: one nephew, Bill Goins of Afton, Okla.; two nieces, Sharon Newman of Miami, Okla., and Marsha Ratzloff of Tulsa, Okla.; one great-nephew, Bill Terry of Fairland; two great-nieces, Charlotte Terry of Mannford, Okla., and Carol Duffel of Miami; and a host of loving friends.
Services for Ms. Goins will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 20, at the First Christian Church in Fairland. Minister Brian Gibel will Rev. officiate.
Interment at the Fairland Cemetery in Fairland.
Services are under the direction of the Adcock Funeral Home in Fairland.

HOWARD STANLEY GOINS
GROVE - Howard Stanley Goins of Grove died Saturday, March 2, 2002 at the Grove Nursing Center in Grove. He was 84.
Mr. Goins was born January 18, 1918 to Jeff James and Ressie (Alexander) Goins in Kenwood, Okla. Howard grew up in the Kenwood area, with his brothers traveling in the area by wagon and foot long before Spavinaw, Eucha, and Grand Lake. When the government bought the land around Kenwood for an Indian Reserve his family moved to Rattlesnake Hollow, Grove, then to Jay, Okla. He helped during the construction of Grand Lake and the Pensacola Dam. In his twenties, Howard went to Kansas to work the wheat harvest. He stayed and worked for a farmer in Attica, Kan., where he met Coral Drake. In February of 1942 he was drafted in the United States Army during WWII. When he was home on leave he married Coral Drake on December 31, 1942, 59 years ago. In 1946 Howard went to work at the Coleman Lamps and Lantern Co. in Wichita, Kan. He worked there 33 years and never missed one day of work. He retired in 1980. After retirement he relaxed and operated a small lawnmower business out of his home. As his and Coral's health began to fail, they moved to Grove to be closer to his daughter Wanda.
Survivors include: one daughter, Wanda Clinton, of Claremore, Okla.; two brothers, Earl Goins of Jay, and Durwood Goins of Miami, Okla.; one sister, Lorene Goins of Eugene, Ore.; two grandchildren, Ron Hinson and Steva Hughes, and one great-granddaughter, Taylor Hughes.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, at the Attica Cemetery in Attica. Family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Monday at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

THOMAS STRALEY GOINS
JAY, Okla. - Thomas Straley Goins, 82, died Friday, September 13, 2002 at Grove General Hospital after a short illness.
Thomas Straley Goins was born August 27, 1920 in Strang, Okla., to Guy and Mae (Jackson) Goins. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was married to Dorothy Richie and she preceded him in death. Mr. Goins operated a service station during his lifetime.
Survivors include: six sisters, Dona Fryer, Pryor, Okla., Bette Potter and husband, Ethan, Lee Jean Beauchamp, and Anabelle Tuder, all of Jay, Judy Wingard and husband, O.D., Glenpool, and Geraldine Anderson and husband, Junior, Southwest City; one brother, Earl William Goins and wife, Ruth, of Jay; three stepchildren, Tilley Favre, Tulsa, GeeGee Malloy, Bentonville, Ark., and Polly Newkirk, Jay. Also surviving are 11 nephews, seven nieces and a host of great nephews and nieces.
Mr. Goins was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Goins; his parents; three brothers, Gerald, Gary and Wesley Goins; one sister, Maxine Beck; one great-step-granddaughter Hayley Hughes; and one great nephew, Billy Reece.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, September 16, at First United Methodist Church with Vince Goins and Tomisene Ingram officiating. Interment followed at Spavinaw Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay.
