SHARON J. HARRIS
AFTON, Okla. - Sharon J. Harris, of rural Afton, Okla., died at St. John's Hospital in Joplin Wednesday evening, May 8, 2002 after an illness. She was 61. She was born November 12, 1940 at Rocky Comfort, Mo., to Joseph and Louise Long. She had worked as an order clerk at Tulsa Beef Co. for several years. She married Jay C. Harris on December 24, 1959 at Miami, Okla. He preceded her in death on October 24, 2001. They resided in Tulsa, Okla., until moving to Afton in 1997. She was a member of Trinity Southern Baptist Church in Afton.
Survivors include: one daughter, Becki Mushrush and husband, Steve, of Tulsa; a brother, Wayne Long of Tulsa; two sisters, Janice McClure of Tulsa, and Joann Palinski of Little Rock, Ark.; a granddaughter, Kelli Mushrush; and three step-grandchildren, Mike, Jeff, and Jennifer Mushrush.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Jerry Harris.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, at Trinity Baptist Church in Afton, with Rev. Wendell Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Abbey Cemetery in Miami. Pallbearers will be Brian Gibson, Charles Gibson, Tommy Bassett, Stacy Humble, Dean Fisher, and Henry Frellick.
Arrangements provided by Adcock Funeral Home in Afton.

SYLVIA M. HARRIS
FAIRLAND, Okla. - Sylvia M. Harris, retired nurse's aide, died August 30, 2002 after a sudden illness. She was 90. She was born Feb. 12, 1912 at Fairland to John and Lottie Blalack Higinbotham. She was proud of her Cherokee heritage. She worked as a housekeeper for several years, and as a nurse's aide at Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami for 17 years. She married John "Bud" Harris, Jr. on September 4, 1931. He preceded her in death on November 22, 1951. She was a lifetime member of First Assembly of God Church in Fairland, where she still faithfully attended.
She is survived by: five daughters, Retha Jean Gabriel and Margie Fay Casey, both of Grove, Shirley Ann DeLong and Delores Mae Artherton and husband, Richard, all of Bouse, Ariz., and Norma Lee Redington of Miami; a brother, Ralph Higinbotham, of Seneca; two sisters and their husbands, Belva and Jack Crafton of Fairland, and Wanda and Alfred Anderson of Freeport, Texas; nine grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, at First Assembly of God Church in Fairland with Rev. Jackie Crafton, Jr., and Rev. Robert Jackson officiating. Burial followed at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jack Manning, Kenneth Whisner, Jackie Crafton, Jim Bryant, Charles Griffin, Roger Selsor, and Keith Hinson.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Heart Association, in care of the funeral home. Arrangements were provided by Adcock Funeral Home of Fairland.

ARCH LEE HARRY
GROVE - Arch Harry, age 86, died Tuesday, August 13, 2002 in the Grand Lake Villa at Grove. The son of Taylor Harry and Sally Mouse, he was born on July 12, 1916 in Eucha, Okla. Arch was a member of the Butler Baptist Church. He was a veteran of WW II, serving in the U.S. Army. Arch worked as a heavy equipment operator and helped build most of the highways in the area.
He is survived by two sons, Argyle Harry, Russellville, Ark., and James Harry, Grove; two sisters, Polly Whitekiller and Flossie Summerfield; and one grandson, Lelan James Harry.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, in the Butler Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Roundsprings Cemetery. Veteran's rites will be by the Grove Veteran's Ritual Team. There will be a visitation from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

EVADEAN HOWARD HARRY
GROVE - Evadean Howard Harry was born June 15, 1918 to Earnest Howard and Lottie Routon at Turkey Ford, Okla. She was also known as Evadean Pooler, her stepfather's last name. She was raised in Miami, Okla., and graduated from Miami High School in May, 1937. Evadean married Robert Harry December 24, 1936 in Miami. He preceded her in death on March 4, 1972.
They, with a daughter and son, moved to the Los Angeles, Calif., area in 1942, where they were employed in defense work during WWII. Afterward she worked at Ducomnum Metal & Supply as an accounting clerk in steel purchasing.
They retired in 1979, moved back to Oklahoma, and settled in Grove in 1984. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: one daughter, Darlean Lilly; one son, Dr. Robert Harry, Jr.; three grandchildren, Lisa Wylie, Jeffery Lilly, and Rebbeca Harry; three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The services will be at graveside in the Wyandotte Indian Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 31. There will be a short visitation afterward. The services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

JAMES ISAAC HARRYMAN
COLCORD, Okla. - James Isaac Harryman, age 86, of Colcord, died March 19, 2002 at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital, Siloam Springs, Ark. Born September 28, 1915 in Oak Grove, Ark., he was the son of James Ernest Harryman and Alta Erma Butler Harryman. Mr. Harryman was a longtime Delaware County resident, a dairy farmer and retired carpenter. He was affiliated with Timber Grove Holiness Church. He married Hazel Marie Thompson in November 1937. Mr. Harryman was preceded in death by one son, James Elwood Jackson Harryman.
Survivors include: his wife, Hazel, of the home; three daughters, Beverly Jean Wilkes of Tulsa, Okla., Sharon Kay Silcox of Colcord, and Alta Lavell Harryman of the home; one brother, Ernest Hugh Harryman of Calif.; two sisters, Chloe Audrey Barker and Erma Ernestine Downs, both of Hollister, Mo.; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. March 20 at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 21, at Wasson Memorial Chapel with Brother Carl Page and Brother Wayne Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Herman cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of the Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

JACK RICHARD HASTY
SOUTHWEST CITY, Mo. - Jack Richard Hasty, age 75, of Southwest City died at 7:20 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2002 a the Baptist Regional Hospital in Miami, Okla., after an illness.
Jack was born on January 30, 1926 in Southwest City to the late Ray and Grace (Wilkerson) Hasty. He had lived in Southwest City all his life. He was employed in the body shop at Sanders Chevrolet and as a custodian for Hudson Foods, both in Noel, Mo. He was a member of the Corner Stone Church in Southwest City.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jean (Box) Hasty, on March 8, 1967; a son, Nicky Joe Hasty; a daughter, Jackie Crow; a sister, Mable O'Donnell; and a grandson, Thomas Crow.
Survivors include: a son, Ricky Lee Hasty, of Siloam Springs, Ark.; three daughters, Kathy Casey of Gentry, Ark., Sandy Anderson of Siloam Springs, and Bobbi Shields of Jay, Okla.; four sisters, Juanita Hensley of Clarksville, Va., Shirley Hasty of Seattle, Wash., Mable Drake and Sue Drake, both of Wichita, Kan.; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Monday, January 14 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Southwest City. Reverends Ralph Houck and Ray Clanton officiated. Burial was in the Southwest City Cemetery in Southwest City.
Pallbearers were Bruce Anderson, Mark Bratton, Colby Casey, Larry Reece, Ted Reece, and J.D. Reece. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Casey and Rick Hasty.
Services were under the direction of the Ozark Funeral Home in Southwest City.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.

ALFREDA TEAGUE HAYES
COLLEYVILLE, Texas - Alfreda Teague Hayes 78, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2002 at an area care center.
A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association in lieu of flowers.
Alfreda Hayes was born October 28, 1923 in Grove. She graduated from Northeast Oklahoma Junior College in Miami, Okla., and attended Harding College in Searcy, Ark. During WWII, she worked in Washington, D.C., at the Pentagon and as a secretary at the State Department. Alfreda was a 35-year resident of the MidCities area.
Survivors include: her husband of 58 years, John L. Hayes; daughters, Myrene A. Cox of Little Rock, Ark., and Celeste L. Hayes of Collierville, Tenn.; son, Colonel Charles T. Hayes, USMC of Aledo, Texas; brother, Alvin Teague of Jay, Okla.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

VERNON HAYS
KANSAS, Okla. - Vernon Hays, 71-year-old resident of Kansas, Okla., died Friday, May 24, 2002 at his home. Born September 30, 1930 in Jennings, Okla., he was the son of Harvey J. Hays and Clarice Embrey Hays. Vernon was a retired truck driver for North American Van Lines and Wheaton Van Lines. He had lived most of his life in Kansas. Vernon was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Kansas and attended the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bob Hays; and one sister, Mary Brooks.
Survivors include: one son, Russell Hays and wife, Starla, of Oaks, Okla.; three daughters, Carol Hall and husband, Delbert, of Siloam Springs, Ark., Verna Reed and husband, Waymon, of Kansas, and Lila Killer and husband, Mose, of Tahlequah, Okla.; eight grandchildren; one brother, John Hays and wife, Naoma, of Watts, Okla.; two sisters, Cordelia Carroll of Kansas, and Kay Marveggio and husband, Tharlow, of Colcord, Okla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, at the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Kansas with Brother Sam Andrews officiating. Cremation arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs..

BEADA B. HEITZMANN
GROVE - Funeral services for Beada B. Heitzmann, 96, of Grove, and formerly of Ashley, who died Thursday, January 17, 2002 at the Grove Nursing Center in Grove, will be Saturday, January 26, at 1 p.m. at Ashley Baptist Church. The Rev. Darwin Stahl and the Rev. Ray Kapp will officiate. Burial will be in the Ashley City Cemetery. Carlsen Funeral Home of Ashley is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. There will also be visitation for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Beada Bertha Heupel, daughter of Adam and Carolina (Wanner) Heupel, was born August 29, 1905 near Harvey, N.D. As a young child, she moved with her family to McClusky, N.D. in 1907 where she grew up, graduating from McClusky High School. She then attended and received her teaching certificate at Valley City State College and began her teaching career that lasted over 20 years. She taught in various communities, which included Temvik, Wing, Ashley, Venturia and Zeeland, N.D. and Leola, S.D.
She was united in marriage to Benjamin F. Heitzmann on July 13, 1927 at Valley City, N.D. They eventually moved to Ashley where they made their home from 1938 to 1997. In 1944 she and her husband opened Heitzmann's Piano Company, later adding furniture and appliances. They operated their store for 50 years. She and her husband were married 70 years when he died December 3, 1997.
Beada enjoyed sewing, gardening, picking wild flowers and nature. Ladies groups and Bible studies were very important to her.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ashley and was active in church music, Sunday school teacher, and church secretary and churchwomen's ministries. She was a 50-year plus member of the Women's Club of Ashley and served as a local chairman of the General Federation of Women's Clubs. She was also a member of the Hospital Auxiliary and Senior Citizens. She was dedicated to the Lord and served with her husband in many areas of church and community service.
Survivors include: two sons, Duane (June) Heitzmann of Grove, and Paul (Sue) Heitzmann of Twinsburg, Ohio; one daughter, Janice (Gary) Maier of New Braunfels, Texas; four grandchildren, Carole (Steve) Zimmelman, Paul D. Heitzmann, David (Patricia) Heitzmann and Cheryl (Ben) Schalks, and four great-grandchildren, Alisa, David and Ashley Zimmelman and BJ Schalks.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, nine brothers, Philip A. Heupel, Adam Heupel, Frederick Heupel, Paul W. Heupel, Carl A. Heupel, Jacob Heupel, Harold Heupel, Edwin Heupel and Albert A. Heupel, and four sisters, Carolina Heupel Bien, Mary Heupel, Marie Heupel Maas and Emma Heupel Peterson.
Casketbearers will be David Heitzmann, Richard Peterson, James Peterson, Adolph Rueb and Terry Elhard.
The organist will be June Heitzmann. There will be a duet by Rev. George and Adolph Rueb and solo by Vera Glur.

JAMES ALLEN HICKS
EUCHA, Okla. - James Allen Hicks, age 83, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2002. He was born September 7, 1919 to Richard and Bertha Curson Hicks in Arkansas. James grew up and lived around Strang, Okla., and in 1937 James and Ada Marie Mulse were united in marriage. James was a hard rock miner and also worked in the roofing and siding business. The couple lived in Eucha, Okla., since 1968.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Ada, and one grandson, Stewart James Hicks.
Survivors include: seven children, Olive Graves, Allen Hicks and Bill Hicks, of Jay, and Hubert Hicks, Clifford Hicks, Bruce Hicks, and Bonnie Jackson, all of Zena, Okla.; 26 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
The family will be receiving friends and relatives on Thursday, May 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Chapel in Jay. Graveside services will be Friday, May 10, at 11 a.m. at the Zena Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of the Turner Funeral Chapel in Jay.

ROSALYN (CONNER) HICKS
TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - Funeral services for Rosalyn (Conner) Hicks, 77, of Tahlequah, Okla., were held Tuesday, June 25, 2002 at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jerry Hill officiating. Burial followed at Tahlequah City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Jim Wilhite, Wes Connor, Nick Purkey, Jack Lankford, Sen. Herb Rozell, Bill Collins, Jerry Nottingham and Eugene Nottingham.
Honorary pallbearers were Jim Powell, Bill Hinds, Jim Bynum and the 20th Century Study Club.
Mrs. Hicks, the daughter of the late William A. Conner and Linna (Childress) Conner, was born Aug. 19, 1924 in Stillwater, Okla., and departed this life on Saturday, June 22, in Tahlequah.
She lived in Tahlequah all her life and was a retired bank teller at First National Bank in Tahlequah. She also attended Northeastern State University.
She was married to James Marvin Hicks on Oct. 4, 1945 in Muskogee, Okla.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Tahlequah and was a charter member of the 20th Century Study Club, as well as being active in school activities with her children. She enjoyed crafts, watching birds, painting, fishing and raising flowers. Her grandchildren were most dear to her, she loved them all.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, a daughter, Sharon Duff, three brothers, Duane, Rex and Brooks Conner, and a sister, Imogene Curtis.
She is survived by a daughter, Patti Hicks-Johnson, and her husband, Walter, of Tahlequah; a son-in-law, David Duff of Grove; three grandchildren, Kerri Duff Geer and her husband, Jason Geer, of Grove, Erin Duff of Joplin, Mo., and Mark Willis Johnson of Tahlequah; many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as a host of friends and loved ones.
Memorials can be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 315 East Shawnee, Tahlequah, OK 74464.
