GROVER C. HILDERBRAND
JAY, Okla. - Grover C. Hilderbrand, age 59, died Thursday, March 28, 2002, in the Grand Lake Villa of Grove, Okla.
Grover C. Hilderbrand was born on December 1, 1942 in Tahlequah, Okla., to Mike and Rosa (Big Acre) Hilderbrand. He married Eldena "Tina" Foreman in 1995 in Miami, Okla. Mr. Hilderbrand worked in power plants as a welder. He attended Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Salina, Okla.
Survivors include: his wife, Eldena "Tina" Hilderbrand of Kenwood, Okla.; two daughters, Sheila Panther of Rose, Okla., and Ladonna Mouse; two sons, Dennis Hilderbrand of Kenwood, and Noah Hilderbrand of the home; one brother, Bob Adair of Kenwood; one sister, Maria Foreman of Colcord, Okla.; four grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, April 1, at Clouds Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Euwasha Cemetery in Kenwood.
Services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay.

ROBERT L. HILLIG
KANSAS, Okla. - Robert L. Hillig, 76, of Kansas, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2002 at the Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital.
Robert was born on September 15, 1925 in Lebanon, Mo., the son of Elmer Hillig and Fay Asher Hillig. He was the widower of the late Mary Hillig who preceded him in death in 1964. He was an employee for Wal-Mart for 14 years in Siloam Springs, Ark., working in Hardware. He was a WW II Army veteran, a life member of the Disabled Veterans, a deacon and member of the Twin Oaks Baptist Church.
Survivors include one brother, Eugene Hillig, Lebanon; one sister, Ruby Maguire of Nevada; and a host of special friends.
Services for Mr. Hillig were held on Monday, August 26, at the Twin Oaks Baptist Church in Twin Oaks. Rev. James O'Field officiated the service with burial held in the Kansas Cemetery under the direction of the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

GLENNA FAYE 'FARRELL' HODGES
GROVE - Glenna Faye "Farrell" Hodges, 75, died Thursday, October 17, 2002 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kan. Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 21, at the First United Methodist Church, Grove.
Glenna Hodges was born on April 25, 1927 in Snyder, Okla., to Tolbert and Ida Fay (Kimbrell) Farrell. She was married to Roy A. Hodges. Mrs. Hodges owned three Merle Norman Cosmetic stores in Wichita and one in Grove. She had also owned a craft store in Grand Junction, Colo. Mrs. Hodges was a member of the First United Methodist Church, past member of the Cherry Reds and United Methodist Women. She moved to Grove from Wichita in 1986.
Survivors include: her husband, Roy A. Hodges, Grove; one son, Joe Kendrick, and wife, Kerry, Grand Junction; one daughter, Pamela Smith, and husband, Lester, Grand Junction; two stepsons, Dallas Hodges, and wife, Jan, Broken Arrow, Okla., and James Hodges and wife, Lynne, Wichita; one brother, Wayne Farrell, Tuttle, Okla.; one sister, Ilene Krapf, Purcell, Okla.; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; and eight step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Jack Farrell.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund or your favorite charity.
Services are entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home, 107 S. Broadway, Grove.

AUDREY D. HOFFSTATTER
GROVE - Audrey D. Hoffstatter, age 92, died Wednesday, February 27, 2002 at Integris Grove General Hospital. A private family service will be held at a later date.
Audrey Hoffstatter was born on October 22, 1090 in Milwaukee, Wis., to Leslie and Amy (Hilton) Davis. She married Edward W. Hoffstatter on December 21, 1931 in Milwaukee. Mrs. Hoffstatter was the owner of Belair Harbor Bluff Real Estate in Largo, Fla., for 10 years. Her hobbies included painting and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include: three sons, Edward Hoffstatter, Jr. and wife, Judy, of Englewood, Fla., Thomas D. Hoffstatter and wife, Helen, of Grove, and Rodney G. Hoffstatter and wife, Judy, of Spanaway, Wash.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hoffstatter was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, Leslie Davis, Jr.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, One West Mountain Street, Fayetteville, AR 72701. Services are entrusted to the Ellis Family Funeral Home in Grove.

ROBERT JAMES HOGSHOOTER
JAY, Okla. - Robert James Hogshooter, Jr., age 51, passed away in a fatal automobile accident Saturday, November 2, 2002. Pee Wee was born February 26, 1951 to Robert and Jessie Coker Hogshooter. Pee Wee was a graduate of Jay High School and a mechanic and laborer most of his life. He loved to fish, hunt, play bingo and lift weights with his son, Victor.
He is survived by: his children, Carmelita and husband, Anthony Ward, of Grove, James Hogshooter, of Miami, Okla., Victor Hogshooter and Heather, of Spavinaw, Okla., Sam Hogshooter, of Miami, Rebecca Hogshooter of Miami, Dakota of Tulsa, Okla., and Desiree, of Spavinaw, Okla.
Services will be held at Round Springs Baptist Church, Eucha, Okla., at 2 p.m. on November 7. Burial will be at Round Springs Cemetery, Eucha. Services are under the direction of Turner Funeral Chapel.

JOHN B. GORDON HOLLABAUGH
VINITA, Okla. - John B. Gordon Hollabaugh, 86 year-old Vinita resident, passed away Monday, November 4, 2002 at his home following an extended illness.
John was born June 15, 1916 to John Tillman Hollabaugh and Hattie Mae (Swaggerty) Hollabaugh. He came to Craig County, west of Welch, in a covered wagon in 1922. He grew up in Craig County and attended Hudson School. He assisted his dad plowing with teams and tractors, and hand milked cows twice a day, as well as some blacksmithing of machinery. He entered the civilian conservation corps in 1937 and worked in Soil Conservation at Spavinaw.
In 1941 John entered the U.S. Army and was assigned to the 103rd Signal Co., where he was a lineman, cannoneer and anti-aircraft machine gunner during World War II. He served in Southern France, Naples, Rhineland and Central Europe. He earned the silver service star, bronze service star and the American Defense Service Ribbon. He was honorably discharged in September 1945.
John was united in marriage to Frieda Geraldine Foreman on December 8, 1945. He applied for work at Monills Mint Packing Plant in Sioux Falls, S.D., where he worked until retiring in 1976. On retirement, he moved back to Craig County. John was an active member of the American Legion, both in South Dakota and Vinita.
Survivors include: his wife, Frieda, of the home; one daughter, Christine Doloris Bond and husband, Robert, of Sedalia, Mo.; five sisters, Louise Mitchell of Olathe, Kan., Ellen Cherry of Dallas, Texas, Kathryn Ruttgen of Parsons, Kan., Evelyn Lofton of Coweta, Okla., and Alma Spunaugle, of Vinita; one grandson, Jeremy Roberts Bond; two great-grandchildren, Alannh Bond and John Charles Bond; and numerous nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters and two brothers.
Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, at Burckhalter Chapel, Rev. Skip McClain officiating. Interment followed in the Martin Cemetery.
Graveside military rites were performed by the Grove Veterans Ritual Team. Services were under the direction of Burkhalter Funeral Home.

GEORGIA 'LORI' HOPKINS
TALLADEGA, Ala. - Mrs. Georgia "Lori" Hopkins, 46-year-old former Vinita resident, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2002 at Citizens BMC in Talladega, following an extended illness.
Lori was born October 1, 1955 in Vinita, Okla., to Clarence Raymond Martin and Shirley Mae (Eubanks) Martin.
Mrs. Hopkins is survived by her mother, Shirley Martin, of Vinita; her husband, Arthur Hopkins, of Pell City, Ala.; one daughter, Desiree Hopkins, of Vinita; three sons, Jefferson LaMountain and wife, Stacy, of Talladega, Arthur Hopkins, II, and wife, Aireka, of Sunrise Beach, Mo., and David Bava; one sister, Cheryl Woolman of Vinita; one brother, Audie Martin of Vinita; three sisters-in-law, Jean Hopkins of Vinita, Patricia King of Eucha, Okla., and Kammy Martin of Vinita; two brothers-in-law, Earl Hopkins and Cecil Woolman, both of Vinita; eight grandchildren, Bryan, Dakota, Raven and Noah LaMountain, Hannah Hopkins, and Heaven, Alley and Destiny Bava.
She was preceded in death by her father and an infant brother.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 26, at the Burckhalter Memorial Chapel. Mr. Frank Hopkins will officiate. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, August 25, at the Burckhalter Funeral Home.
Services are under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home.

LUCILLE MAE HOPPOCK
AFTON, Okla. - Lucille Mae Hopock, 73, a resident of Leisure Shores, Afton, Okla., since May 1989, died at 12:50 p.m. August 17, 2002 in her home. She was born July 22, 1929 in Wichita, Kan., to Vern and Vera (Ellis) Roach. She graduated from Wichita East High School and, in her early years, worked as a hairdresser in various shops in Wichita.
She married Wayne W. Hoppock on March 9, 1951 in Wichita, Kan. He preceded her in death on November 12, 1999. They lived in Wichita until 1989 where they raised and educated their children, moving to Grand Lake upon Wayne's retirement.
Survivors include: one sister, Louise Bates, of Spanaway, Wash.; one son, Gary and his wife, Kathy, of Wichita; two daughters, Debbie and Kelly, also of Wichita; eight grandchildren, Casi Sawyer, Jamie Sawyer, Tatum Satterly, Derek Sawyer, Heather Hoppock, Rhiannon Hoppock, Jessie Hoppock, and Tristen Hoppock; two step grandchildren, Starla Griffin and Desiree' Griffin; and two great grandchildren, Payton Sawyer and Hanen Satterly.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four infant children.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 24, at the Rest Haven Gardens of Memory, 118000 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kan., for both Lucille and Wayne as they end their journey together.
The family requests no flowers and suggest memorials to the Regency Hospice of Miami, Okla., through Rest Haven Gardens or Turner Funeral Chapels, 722 N.W. 46th Street, Grove 74344.

HARRIETT VIOLA HOUSMAN
GROVE - Harriett Viola Housman of Grove died Friday, October 25, 2002 at her Grand Lake home. She was 77.
Harriett was born December 23, 1924 to Perry O. and Leona Silvara in Ft. Worth, Texas. She worked as a telephone operator during WWII. She worked as an insurance sales representative for Mutual of Omaha Co. and Banker Life and Casualty Co., earning top salesman of the year award multiple times. Harriett has attended and volunteered at churches all her life, including roles such as church organist, choir director, Sunday School, and Bible teacher. She was currently attending First Baptist Church in Southwest City, Mo. She loved her cats and enjoyed the view through the two-story, all glass north wall of her house on Grand Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lowell Silvara and Raymond Silvara; and her sister, Marguerite (Silvara) Birkes.
Survivors include: her husband of 60 years, James A. Housman; her children, Ronald L. Housman of Grove, and Robyn (Housman) Caruthers of Tulsa, Okla.; one brother, Melvin Silvara of Oroville, Calif.; four grandchildren, Olivia and Whitney Caruthers of Tulsa, Tina and John Housman of San Antonio, Texas; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. The family expresses deep gratitude to those who loved and cared for Harriett.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29, at the First Baptist Church in Southwest City with Rev. Ray Clanton officiating. Donations may be made to the Missouri Baptist Children's Home in care of the church, or the Cornerstone Bank in Southwest City. Arrangements were under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove.

DARLA JEAN HOWARD
AFTON, Okla. - Darla Jean Howard, 57, of Afton, Okla., formerly of Columbus, Kan., died Friday Nov. 22, 2002 in the St John's Medical center of Tulsa, Okla.
The daughter of Jack W. Newcomb, Sr. and Geraldine Tipton Newcomb, she was born January 9, 1945 in Quapaw, Okla.
She graduated from the Field Kindly High School in Coffeyville, Kan. with the class of 1963. She attended Junior College in Coffeyville.
She married Michael Hobson Howard May 17, 1964.
The couple lived in Bartlesville and Tulsa, Okla., and in 1974 moved to Columbus where they opened in the Otasco Store (True Value). They moved to Afton in 1998. She was the manager of Howard Liquor Store in Baxter Springs, Kan. for the past nine years.
Survivors include: her husband, Mike Howard of the home; a son, Steven D. Howard and wife, Edna, of Baxter Springs; a grandson, Matthew Howard of Baxter Springs; her mother, Geraldine Newcomb of Coffeyville; one sister, Marsha Bishop of Kansas City, Mo.; and one brother, Jack W. Newcomb of Spring Hill, Kan.
There will be no viewing until 11:30 a.m., Tuesday November 26, at which time the family will receive friends until the service time of 1 p.m. at the Murdock Funeral Home, 132 E . Pine, Columbus. Her body will be cremated. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.

EARL RAY HUDELSON
TULSA, Okla. - Earl Ray Hudelson, of Tulsa, went to be with is Lord and Savior February 20, 2002 after a long illness. Earl was born in Grove on September 18, 1940 to Naomi and David J. Hudelson. He was a member of the Eastern Cherokee Tribe. He retired from the Oklahoma State Dept. of Education in February 2001. Previously he was Superintendent of Schools in various towns in Oklahoma, spanning a career of 30 years.
Survivors include: his wife of 29 years, Margo Lane Hudelson; four children, Angela Brazeal, Kelly Hudelson, and Holly Hudelson; 11 grandchildren, Tyler, Isaac, Derek, Jacob, Tabitha, Kelsea, Acadia, Kyle, Kory, Katson, and Gracie; his mother, Naomi; one sister, Emma Carol Hall; and one brother, David Ross.
Services will be held at Calvary Temple, 4701 W. Edison, Tulsa, Friday, February 22, at 10 a.m. Committal service will be held at 3 p.m. at Olympus Cemetery in Grove. Family suggests contributions to be made to the American Diabetes Association.
