FLORENCE L. HUXALL
MIAMI, Okla. - Florence L. Huxall, of Miami, died at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at the Miami Nursing Center after a long illness. She was 89.
Huxall was born June 10, 1913 at Jenny Lind, Ark., to Herby Nelson and Nora May (Reddish) Thurston. She had moved to Miami from Parsons in 1970. While in Parsons she had worked at the Kansas Ordinance Plant as senior caregiver and companion, and as a homemaker.
Mrs. Huxall was a member of the Northwest Baptist Church.
She married Perry Lee Ayers on June 5, 1930 in Clayton, N.M., and he preceded her in death in January 1955. She then married Hadley Huxall on February 17, 1970 at Miami, and he preceded her in death in November, 1979.
Survivors include: two daughters, Betty Ayers Bell and her husband, Rex, of Miami, and Erma Cleo Fleming and husband, Bob, of San Antonio, Texas; one son, Jim Ayers of Walfforth, Texas; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Her parents, two husbands, one grandson, Michael Cabot, one son, Don Ayers, and two brothers, Elza and Wilford Thurston preceded Mrs. Huxall in death.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 14, at the Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Parsons with the Rev. John Chastain officiating. Burial will be under the direction of the Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home in Miami.
The family will receive friends at the Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 13.

MAJORIE SUE IMBLER
GROVE - Majorie Sue Imbler, age 77, died Saturday, January 12, 2002 in Lakewood, Colo. She was born on December 18, 1924 near St. Paul, Kan. On June 30, 1950 she married Vincent Imbler and he preceded her in death. She delighted in her family, greatly enjoying her time spent as an elementary school teacher, and was always active in her church.
Survivors include: four sons, Stephan Imbler of Hillsborough, Calif., Michael Imbler of Wichita, Kans., James Imbler of Littleton, Colo., and Thomas Imbler of Arvada, Colo.; two daughters, Nancy Shue of Madison, Ala., and Jean Imbler of Longmont, Colo.; a brother, Harold Smith of St. Paul, Kan.; a sister, Jenny O'Brien of St. Paul; and nine grandchildren.
A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, in the St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Grove with Father Alex Kennedy officiating. Contributions are suggested to the St. Elizabeth's Church, 1653 113th St., Grove. Local arrangements are under the directions of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

ANNA MAYE (JONES) INGRAM
GROVE - Anna Maye (Jones) Ingram, of Grove, died Monday, September 30, 2002 at 6:10 p.m. at St. John's Regional Medical Center of Joplin, Mo., after a short illness. She was 78 years of age.
She was born December 16, 1923 at Cement, Okla., to Luther Martin and Nannie Sylvania (Clanton) Jones. She lived in Grove for the past 16 years, moving from Oklahoma City, Okla., where she lived most of her life. She married Henry Clyde Ingram August 30, 1941 at Oklahoma City. She and her husband co-owned L.M. Jones Company for 30 years and owned and operated the Terry Lynn Rentals in Oklahoma City. She retired from L.M. Jones in 1986. Mrs. Ingram was a member of the Latter Rain Baptist Church of Oklahoma City. She was Past Queen of the Daughters of the Nile of India Temple of Oklahoma City, president of the Woman's Junior Chamber of Commerce of Oklahoma City, president of the Traveler's Protective Women's Insurance Association of Oklahoma City, and in charge of the March of Dimes of Oklahoma City in its early years. She sewed special projects in her home with other ladies to benefit the Shriner's Hospitals, and served with several other organizations in Oklahoma City.
Survivors include: her husband, Henry Clyde Ingram, Sr., of the home; one son, Henry Clyde Ingram, Jr., Tonkawa, Okla.; one daughter, Terry Gayle Hollis, Houston, Texas; one brother, Lawrence "Larry" Jones, Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren, William Todd Merrill, St. Louis, Mo., Shaun Colby Merrill and Tye Casey Merrill, both of Grove, Tiffany Dawn Merrill, Dallas, Texas, Chas Edmond Hollis, Santa Monica, Calif., Amanda Sue Grimley, Eldorado, Kan., and Bradley Trey Ingram, Tonkawa, Okla.; and two great grandchildren, Austin Colby Merrill and Sadie Lynne Merrill, both of Grove. One daughter, Deanna Lynne Wise preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 3, at 11 a.m. at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Picher, Okla. The Rev. Ronald Peak and Paul Ingram Thomas will officiate. Interment will be in the Welch Cemetery of Welch, Okla. Pallbearers will be Tye Merrill, Shaun Merrill, Todd Merrill, Austin Merrill, Chas Hollis, Trey Ingram, Reynold Jones, Ricci Jones, and Gary Jones.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 2, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Picher, Okla.

MARGARET JANE IVIE
JAY, Okla. - Margaret Jane Ivie of Jay died Friday, March 1, 2002 at the Monroe Manor in Jay. She was 79. Mrs. Ivie was born November 23, 1922 to Robert and Tempess (Damon) Riley at Anadarko, Okla. She has lived in Jay since 1997. She was a member of the Strang Baptist Church. She married Elmer Ivie in 1942 at Reno, Okla. He preceded her in death in 1969. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Shirley Ivie and Janette Severa, and two brothers, Damon Riley and Robert Riley.
Survivors include: two daughters, Alma Ivie of Vinita, Okla., and Kathie Stuart of Jay; two sons, Clifford Ivie of Jay, and Rodney Ivie of Smartsville, Calif,; four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, at the Duffield Cemetery in Jay. Rev. Larry Kingsfisher to officiate. Services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay.

VIVIAN LOUISE MERRY/IVEY
GROVE - Vivian Louise Merry/Ivey, age 79, passed away at her home in Grove August 13, 2002. She was born in Poteau, Okla., April 13, 1920 to Walter Goforth and Lona Pate.
She was a homemaker and photographer.
She is survived by her husband, Noble Ivey; one brother, Bill Goforth; one sister, Jeanne Moon, and two sons, Tommie and Michael.
A service is pending for the family.
Cremation was under the direction of Turner Funeral Chapel of Grove.

ELMER LOREN JACKSON
GROVE - Elmer L. Jackson, age 69, died Monday, September 2, 2002 after a sudden illness. The son of Orval and Minnie (Baty) Jackson, he was born on October 8, 1932 in the Turkey Ford area near Grove. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea. Elmer was a member of the V.F.W., the Elks Lodge and the Moose Lodge in Grove. He retired from the City of Grove Street Department in the late 1980's for medical reasons. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jimmy Jackson, and a daughter, Debbie Gilbert.
He is survived by: his wife, Helen Martin of Grove; a son, Dennis Duvall in Jay; eight brothers, W.O. (Billy) Jackson and wife, Wanda, of Jay, Wayne Jackson and wife, Gloria, of Grove, B.J. Jackson and wife, Donna, in Wyandotte, J.D. Jackson and wife, Marie, in Bartlesville, Ed Jackson and wife, Cindy, in Bartlesville, Doyle Jackson and wife, Paula, in Grove, Wiley Jackson and wife, Donna, in Zena, and John Jackson and wife, Wanda, in Zena; three sisters, Nadine Mathis and husband, Riley, in Afton, Linda Milton and husband, Wayne, in Grove, and Maxine Halter and husband, Mike, in Grove; five stepchildren, Arlene Gaston, Judy Martin, Diane Martin, Orley Martin and Jeanne Theander; six grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; and five step-great grandchildren.
The funeral will be on Thursday, September 5, at 10 a.m. in the Zena Cemetery with the Grove Veterans Ritual Team giving military honors. There will be a visitation for family and friends at the funeral home at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. The services are under the directions of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

MATTIE MURRIEL JACKSON
WEST SILOAM SPRINGS, Okla. - Mattie Murriel Jackson, 84, of Quail Ridge Living Center, West Siloam Springs, died September 10, 2002 at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. Born July 22, 1918, in Kansas, Okla., she was the daughter of John Luper and Maggie Martin Luper. She was a retired machine operator for Glover Packing of Roswell, New Mexico. Most of her life was lived in the Kansas area, as well as the states of Kansas and New Mexico. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kansas. Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Jackson, in 1982.
Survivors include one son, George W. Davis of Kansas; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one sister, Maggie Pilcher of Kansas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 12, at First Baptist Church, Kansas, with Rev. John Crowley officiating. Burial will follow at Russell Cemetery, Oaks, Okla. Visitation will be Wednesday at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wasson Funeral Home.

M. RAY JACKSON
GROVE - Ray Jackson, age 86, died Sunday, February 3, 2002 in the Grove Integris General Hospital. The son of James and Nancy Cooper Jackson, he was born on June 6, 1915 in Missouri. Ray lived all his life in the Grove area. On May 8, 1940 he married Virginia Maples in Fairland, Okla. He attended the Hale's Community Freeholiness Church in Zena, Okla.
Survivors include: his wife, Virginia Jackson, of Grove; five daughters, Katherine Burleson of Wyandotte, Okla., Sue Sexton and husband, Marvin, in Jay, Faye Hicks and husband, Hubert, of Zena, Minnie Jeffries and husband, Lloyd, of Zena, and Lelia Hicks and husband, Bruce, of Zena; a son, Frankie Jackson and wife, Bonnie, of Zena; two sisters, Elizabeth Beal of Hickory Grove, and Nellie Downing of Grove; a brother, James Jackson of Zena; 26 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 6, in the Delaware Baptist Church. The interment will be in the Zena Cemetery. The services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

UTOKA LOUISE JACKSON
GROVE - Utoka Louise Jackson, 77, died Wednesday, October 16, 2002 at Grand Lake Villa, Grove, after a brief illness. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 18, at Ellis Family Funeral Home Chapel, Grove, with Rev. Ray Melugin officiating. Burial will follow at Olympus Cemetery, Grove. Family visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, October 17, at the funeral home.
Utoka Louise Jackson was born on October 4, 1925 in Noel, Mo., to Okle and Ruth (Scritchfield) Hume. She graduated from Grove High School in 1944. She married James H. Jackson on January 1, 1953 in Huntsville, Ark. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Jackson was a homemaker and lived in the Grove area most of her life. She was a member of Independent Baptist Church, the Joy Class and the Sonlighters.
Survivors include: one son, Jim Jackson and wife, Susan, Neosho, Mo.; one brother, Don Hume and wife, Betty, Miami, Okla., and two step granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Paul Carter.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Independent Baptist Church.
Services are entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home, 107 S. Broadway, Grove, 918-786-5172.

MELVIN HAROLD JACOBSON
LANGLEY, Okla. - Melvin Harold Jacobson, 60-year-old Langley resident, passed Sunday, June 23, 2002 at Elko, Nev.
Melvin was born July 16, 1941 at Webb City, Mo., to Jack Harold and Arlene (Wheeler) Jacobson. He attended and graduated from Webb City High School and served eight years with the U.S. Army Reserve and National Guard.
Melvin was married to Jeannie Davis in 1962. Her moved to Langley from Tulsa in 1982.
Melvin was a machinist and retired from American Airlines in 1996. He also worked part-time at Leonard Kauffman Precision Manufacturing & Design in Langley. He was a member of Transport Workers Union Local 514.
He is survived by: one daughter, Tina Schlager and husband, Richard, of Vinita; two grandchildren, Angela Bailey and Richard Schlager; three great-grandchildren, Austin and Kelly Bailey and Aaron Schlager; ex-spouse, Jeannie Nidiffer and husband, Mike, of South Carolina, as well as a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, at the Burckhalter Memorial Chapel. Rev. Leland Bartlett will officiate. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin.
The family will receive friends from 7 - 8 p.m. Monday, July 1, at the Burckhalter Funeral Home.
Services are under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home of Vinita.

JIMMY RAY JAMES
JAY, Okla. - Jimmy Ray James, age 51, died January 17, 2002 at Monroe Manor, Jay. Jimmy was born September 24, 1950 at Whitesboro, Okla., to Wallace W. James and Farris Gray James. Jimmy grew up and worked around Whitesboro and Talihina, Okla., where he worked as a laborer. Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, one bother, Robert James, one sister, Leona Marie James, and one son, Dakota James.
Survivors include: two brothers, Elmer James and Bars Columbus James; two daughters, Kendra Mitchell, and Leona Marie James; one son, Byron Wayne Sands; three grandchildren and several loved ones.
Services will be graveside at Crittenden Cemetery, near Chewey, Okla., Tuesday, January 22, at 2 p.m. Services are under the direction of Turner Funeral Chapel in Jay.

MARY ARLENE JAMES
JAY, Okla. - Mary Arlene James (formerly Mary A. Dodson), age 64, passed away on June 3, 2002 at her home in Jay. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 29, at 10 a.m. Per her wishes, the body has been donated to the OSU Medical Research Center, and following cremation her ashes will be scattered at a favorite camping spot in northern California.
She was born on June 3, 1938 in Sacramento, Calif. On July 29, 1949 she married Charles Frank James. and lived in Loomis, Calif., until moving to Grove in 1976. Her husband and a grandson, Cody Hodge, preceded her in death.
Survivors include: four children, Jeannie Irene Earp of Jay, Julie James of Tulsa, Okla., Judy Sue (Susie) Hodge of Grove, and Joey James of Jay; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several brothers, and sisters, including Dale Dodson of Sacramento and Louise Bauer of Grove; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Along with being a mother and homemaker, she mastered a variety of occupations during her career span, beginning in area manufacturing industries related to poultry, electronics, welding and cabinet making. At age 50 she enrolled in a Semi Truck Driving School and was one of the top students in her class at graduation. When she could no longer travel due to health reasons, she spent several years each at the Friendship Homes, Inc., and Davis Construction Rentals in Jay.
She earned the respect of many in the community for her strong sense of values, work ethic, independence and character. Never one to fit a stereotype, she will be greatly missed by friends, family, and the many others whose lives on which she made a positive impact. .
