GLADYS M. LEAMON
MIAMI, Okla. - Gladys M. Leamon, age 90, of Miami died Thursday, February 7, 2002 at Eastwood Manor in Commerce, Okla.
Mrs. Leamon was born April 22, 1911 in Morris, Okla., to Charles and Margaretha (Gertsch) Riggs. Mrs. Leamon has lived in the Miami area all of her life. She was a clerk for Woolworths, Planet Cleaners, and the Prescription Shop. Mrs. Leamon was also a Rockhound and a member of the Gem & Mineral Club and also belonged to the Art & Crafts Club. She was a longtime member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.
Mrs. Leamon married Lawrence Leamon on June 9, 1946. He preceded her in death on September 11, 1991. One son, Don Leamon, and two sisters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one daughter, Carol Williamsom of Miami; four granddaughters, Connie Hamm of Miami, Carrie Andrews of Miami, Cindy Kimble of Perryville, Ark., and Angela Leamon of Conn.; three grandsons, Brad Williamson of Greenway, Texas, Don Leamon, Jr., of Pittsburg, Kan., and Christopher Leamon of Miami; 22 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 9, at the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami with Pastor J.L. Jones officiating. Burial will be in the G.A.R. Cemetery under the direction of Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home of Miami.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

MICHAEL LeGRAND
GROVE - Michael Emery LeGrand of Grove died Monday, October 28, 2002 at the West Jefferson Hospital in New Orleans, La. He was 48.
Michael was born March 19, 1954, to Plez and Mildred (Hambly) LeGrand at Karo, Ill. He worked as a pipefitter for Johnson Controls Local 205 in Broken Arrow, Okla. He was a member of the South Grand Lake Christian Church in Langley, Okla. Michael was actively involved in the American Heart Association and volunteered for Good Shepherd Hospice. His father preceded him in death. He married Diane LeGrand September 21, 1978 at Cleveland, Okla. She survives.
Other survivors include: his mother, Mildred LeGrand of Sapulpa, Okla.; two daughters, Jamie LeGrand of Grove, and Chasity LeGrand of Dallas, Texas; one son, Matthew LeGrand of Eucha, Okla.; three sisters, Kay Boone of Waggaman, La., Sue Rice of Mounds, Okla., and Melissa Spier of Sand Springs, Okla.; and seven grandchildren, Alexis Reid, Michael Reid, Jevin LeGrand, Courtney LeGrand, Alley LeGrand, Jennifer Barrowmen, and Damien Perry.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 1, at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, with Rev. Sam Carper officiating. Interment will follow at the Olympus Cemetery in Grove.

JAMES LEONARD
LAKEMONT, Okla. - James (Jim) Eugene Leonard of Lakemont Shores died Friday, July 19, 2002 at his home. He was 74.
Jim was born November 11, 1927 to William and Daisy (Foraker) Leonard at Seminole, Okla. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from the Oklahoma Fixture Co. in Tulsa in 1992. Jim was a member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a member of the Lake Mont Shores Fire Department. He married Dorothy Leonard July 27, 1957 in Miami, Okla.
Survivors include: his wife, Dorothy Leonard, of the home; one son, Ron Leonard of Sand Springs, Okla.; three daughters, Ginger Bremer of Skiatook, Okla., and Linda Kennedy and Sun Hance, both of Carl Junction, Mo.; eight grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Dogwood Chapel. Rev. Lennie Martin will officiate. Family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society..

CAROL ANN LENHART
GROVE - Funeral services for Carol Ann Lenhart, 61, of Grove will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2002, at Cornerstone Church in Grove. Graveside services will be held later in the afternoon at Floral Haven Cemetery, 6500 S. 129th East Ave. in Broken Arrow.
Mrs. Lenhart was born to Arthur K. and Gail Mallard in Plainview Texas in 1940 and graduated from high school in Crescent City, Calif. in 1958. She then lived with her grandparents in Pomona, Calif.
She married Jerry Lenhart in Las Vegas in October 1962, and they made their home in Ontario, Calif.
She had been employed by a newspaper in Ontario and later became a housewife while her husband attended college.
She later worked at a car dealership in the leasing department before the couple bought a resort and moved to Grove in 1978. They sold the business and moved to Cherokee Golf Course where they have resided for the past eight years.
She had been a substitute teacher at Grove High School for seven years and had worked part time and later full time at Cornerstone Church for the past 12 years.
She is survived by her husband of the home; a son, Jeffrey Mark Lenhart of Albuquerque, N.M.; a daughter, Stacy Ransinski of Broken Arrow, Okla.; her mother, Gail Thomas; a half-sister, Rosanne Coulter of Charleston, S.C.; three grandchildren, Drew, Blake and Fallon Raisinski; and two nephews, Christopher and Clint Coulter.

JESSICA LYNN 'JESSIE' LEWANDOWSKI
GROVE - Jessie Lewandowski, age 11, died Friday, July 19, 2002 in Palo Alto, Calif., after a sudden illness. The daughter of Michael "Lew" and Julie Ann (Jennings) Lewandowski, she was born or September 27, 1990 in Joplin, Mo. Jessie had attended the T.J Melton Elementary School in Grove. She was a member of the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Grove and was very active in the church. She was a member of the Girl Scout Troop, and Grove Youth Soccer Assoc. in Grove. Jessie loved animals, but she loved attending her older sisters' and brother's games and functions so much that she had no time pursue her own interests.
She is survived by her parents, Lew and Julie Lenwandowski, in Grove; siblings, Rebecca, Addie, and Joey; grandparents, Libby Jennings in Joplin, Mo., and Ray and Shirley Lewandowski in St. Louis, Mo.; and great-grandmothers, Nell Marie Wyrsch and Addie Euneva Jennings in Joplin, Mo.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 26, in the Grove Civic Center. The interment will be in the Hickory Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the four states, P.O. Box 2688, Joplin, MO 64803.
There will be a visitation for family and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. The services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

MYRTLE MARIE (RHODES) LEWIS
GROVE - Myrtle Marie (Rhodes) Lewis, died Friday, May 24, 2002 at the Grove Nursing Home where she has resided for five years. She was 81.
Mrs. Lewis was born July 30, 1920 to Albert and Fronnie (Bartlow) Rhodes at Turkey Ford, Okla. She never worked outside of the home. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She married Bill Lewis on January 3, 1938, he preceded her in death in 1972. One son, Jerry Lewis, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: five children, Sarah Lewis of Texas, Viola Floyd of Wyandotte, Okla., James Lewis of Wyandotte, Linda Trenary of Grove, and Billie Hunt of Hockley, Texas; 13 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
Services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove. Rev. Doug Rainbolt officiated. Interment was at Howard Cemetery near Turkey Ford.

EDNA MARKLE BROWN LIGHT
GROVE - Edna Brown Light quietly slipped into the arms of Jesus at 8 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 2002. She was 90.
Edna was born August 20, 1911 in Dodd, Ark. She was the oldest surviving child of Bill and Alice Delores Abbott Markle. Nine other children followed, and Edna became the second mother to them, loving each one as her own. She spent her earliest childhood in Dodd, and then moved with her parents to the Dodge Community, east of Grove. Full of laughter and fun, she became known in the community as one of those beautiful Markle girls. Going to community dances with her sisters and parents, she discovered she had a gift for dancing.
Edna attended school at the Dodge Country School until the eighth grade, or as she liked to say, until she was bigger than her teacher and could no longer sit at the small desks. Despite a lack of formal education, she was wise in many ways.
At a relatively young age, Edna met and fell in love with Charley Brown. The couple were married in Noel, Mo. Together they had six children, three boys and three girls. Later in life, again finding love, Edna married Raymond Moore. Several years after Raymond passed away, Edna married Richard Light on July 6, 1977, in Miami, Okla. Together they made their home east of Grove.
She was a member of the Dodge Baptist Church and the Commerce Community Church.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, J.C. and Jack Markle; two sisters, Suedy Powell and Wilma Sanford; her husband, Charley Brown; her husband, Raymond Moore, and many other relatives.
She is survived by: her husband, Richard, of the home; three sons, John and wife, Barbara, of Mount Pleasant, N.C., Jack and wife, Thelma, of Commerce, and Joe of Grove; three daughters, Mary Ann Warren and husband, Oakley, of Grove, Susie Christensen and husband, Gary, of Columbus, Kan., and Lynda Nichols of Miami, Okla.; four sisters, Ella Francis and Aliene Harris, both of Grove, Jo Anna Kissar, of Oklahoma City, Ada Walls of Richmond, Calif., and Judy Ramos of Pensacola, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and loving friends.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and sisters.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, at the Dodge Baptist Church, east of Grove. Pastor Bob Rabel will officiate, assisted by Rev. Sam Carver. Serving as pallbearers will be her children, assisted by grandsons, Marc and Brian Nichols, Joshua Charpentier, Cory Merrill, William Warren and Steve Brown. Interment will be in the Olympus Cemetery in Grove. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove Tuesday, September 17, from 6-8 p.m.
Services are under the direction of Thomas Funeral Home of Welch, Okla.

CLEO CARL LILE
JAY, Okla. - Cleo Carl Lile, age 78, died Tuesday, February 19, 2002 at Quartz Ridge Living Center, West Siloam, Okla. Cleo graduated from High School in Oregon. He attended college in Omaha, Neb., where he received is bachelor's degree for education. Cleo also served his country in the Army. In 1951, he married his wife, Alyce. Cleo taught school many years in Grove.
Survivors include: his wife, Alyce; three daughters, Linda Lile, Janet Rowe, and July Eledge; and six grandchildren.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Seven-day Adventist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, February, 23, at Jay. Services are under the direction of the Turner Funeral Chapel in Jay.

JANEY MARIE LINN
COLCORD, Okla. - Janey Marie Linn, 65-year-old resident of Colcord, Okla., died March 22, 2002. She was born April 12, 1935 in Row, Okla., to Victor Cornelison and Elma Archer Cornelison. She was a homemaker and a member of the Colcord Church of God Holiness. In 1955 she married Johnnie Wesley Linn. She was the director of the Colcord School Chapel.
Survivors include: three daughters, Carolyn Weeks and husband, Dennis, of Colcord, Marilyn Swaim and Gary of Colcord, and Teresa Wolfe and Greg of Waxahachie, Texas; her mother-in-law, Francis Linn of Colcord; one brother, Earl Cornelison of Colcord; one sister, Glenda Bishop of Colcord; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held for Janey and her husband, Johnnie Wesley Linn, at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, at the Draper Community Center with Pastor Dennis Weeks and Brother Edward Billups officiating. Burial will follow at Row Cemetery near Colcord. A visitation will beheld from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

JOHNNIE WESLEY LINN
COLCORD, Okla. - Johnnie Wesley Linn, 67-year-old resident of Colcord, Okla., died March 22, 2002. He was born September 7, 1935 in Colcord to Orville Linn and Francis McCombs Linn. He was a member of the Colcord Church of God Holiness. In 1955 he married Janey Marie Cornelison. He was the director of the Colcord School Chapel.
Survivors include: three daughters, Carolyn Weeks and husband, Dennis, of Colcord, Marilyn Swaim and Gary of Colcord, and Teresa Wolfe and Greg of Waxahachie, Texas; his mother, Francis Linn of Colcord; three sisters, Lillian Leach of Grove, Flora Morrison of Tulsa, Okla., and Phyllis Phelan of Siloam Springs, Ark.; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held for Johnnie and his wife, Janey Marie Linn, at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, at the Draper Community Center with Pastor Dennis Weeks and Brother Edward Billups officiating. Burial will follow at Row Cemetery near Colcord. A visitation will beheld from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

MARY V. LIVESAY
GROVE - A memorial service for Mary V. Livesay, 84, of Grove, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, 2002 at the First United Methodist Funeral Chapel in Grove under the direction of the Turner Funeral Chapel.
Mrs. Livesay was born Dec. 30, 1917 in Du Quoin, Ill., to Adlai and Elizabeth Munday, and died peacefully at home surrounded by her family Friday, Sept. 20.
She attended the University of Illinois where she received her degree in French. She married Craig Livesay on Aug. 20, 1939 in Peoria, Ill. The rest of her life was spent honoring God through loving devotion to her husband and six children. It was truly a celebration of life embodied in her singing and her continuous involvement with music and the church.
She resided in many different states before she and her husband move to Grove in 1994. Following Craig's death in 1997, Mary resumed her church activities by joining the choir at the First Methodist Church where she served as the choir secretary and eventually its president. In addition to leading the singing at the weekly devotions in local nursing homes, she also recorded two CDs with pianist Terry Jordan. All who met her were enriched by her generous spirit and open heart.
She is survived by: her children, Carol Richmond of Louisville, Colo., Robert Livesay of Grove, Linda Suderman of Lawrence, Kan., Sharon Diamond of Rio Rancho. N.M., David Livesay of Tulsa, Okla., and Marcia Lemons of Los Angeles, Calif.; two brothers, Adlai Munday of Des Moines, Iowa, and Carleton Munday of Normal, Ill; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and her best canine friend, Buddy.
A memorial service is being held at the First United Methodist Church September 30 at 1 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Turner Funeral Chapel, Grove.

MONNIE LORENE LOFTIS
SOUTHWEST CITY, Mo. - Monnie Lorene Loftis, age 69, died Monday, January 28, 2002 at her home near Southwest City. The daughter of Ed and Delie (Holder) Sharp, she was born on August 20, 1932 in New Castle, Texas. She spent most of her life in the Jay area. Monnie attended school in the Mt. Hermon School as a child. She later worked in the Jay Nursing Home as a nurse's aid and later as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA). Monnie married Loyd Loftis on March 27, 1950. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, and a son, Floyd Loftis.
Survivors include: a son, Gary Loftis and wife, Cathie, of Jay; two daughters, Sharon Beliaj in King George, Va., and Jodi Oder of Laramie, Wyo.; a brother, Oda Lee Sharp of Jay; a sister, Ida Mae Riggs of Jay; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 1, at the graveside in the Southwest City Cemetery. The services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay.
