GEORGIA MAXINE LOGES
ENID, Okla. - Georgia Maxine Loges, age 80, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2002 at the home of her son, Floyd Olan Loges, of Vinita, Okla., following a sudden illness.
Georgia was born October 24, 1921 in Woods County, Okla., to George Henry Reihm and Lila Ellen (Sharp) Reihm. She was a homemaker and a retired beauty operator.
Georgia was united in marriage to Albert Lee Loges on December 24, 1937 to Alva Loges. He preceded her in death December 23, 1990.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, two brothers, and two grandchildren.
Survivors include: two sons, Floyd Olan Loges and wife, Beverly, of Vinita, and Lloyd Nolan Loges and wife, Lovella, of Kake, Ala.; four grandchildren, Larry Cox, Deserie Sutton, Lonnie Loges, and Todd Loges; and nine great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service and visitation was held Monday, January 7, at the home of Mrs. Loges in Enid. Rev. Nolan Loges officiated. Interment was in Galena Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home of Vinita.

JAMES R. LONG
AFTON, Okla. - James R. Long, 68-year-old Afton resident, died near Claremore, Okla., Wednesday, January 8, 2002. He was born in Tulsa, Okla., on December 20, 1933 to Larry and Janyce (Scott) Long. James went to school in Tulsa. He worked as a shoe repairman for Brown Duncan Department Store in Tulsa, Chanute, Coffeyville, and Sand Springs until his retirement. After retirement he did reupholstering in his home on Grand Lake. James served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1958, transferring to the Army Reserve from 1958 to 1962. He enjoyed dancing, socializing, fishing, hunting, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include: one daughter, Tracy Long Beemer, of LaCygne, Kan.; a son, Jimmy Long, of Edwardsville, Kan.; his stepmother, Sue Long, of Iola, Kan.; sister, Linda Long Martin, of Lawrence, Kan.; a sister-in-law, Debbie Long, of Iola; four grandchildren; five nieces and nephews; and seven great-nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother, Pat Long, and a sister, Mary Louise Long.
There will be a visitation for family and friends at the funeral home Friday, January 11 at 6 p.m. The burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Iola Saturday, January 19, at 2 p.m. with Farther Leon Kerschen officiating. The services are under the direction of Luginbuel Home of Langley.

JESSIE L. LONG
MIAMI, Okla. - Jessie L. Long, longtime Afton resident, died at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami Saturday evening after a lengthy illness. She was 90. She was born September 16, 1912, at old Bernice, to Frank and Amanda King Dillinger. She graduated from Fairland High School with the class of 1931. She was a charter member of Lake Center Baptist church. She married Ray A. Long on August 20, 1932, at Afton. They moved to Afton in 1947, where they were members of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Long was a loving wife and homemaker and mother of four children.
She is survived by: two daughters, Sue Rhodes Chrismon and husband, Bill, of Commerce, and Phyllis Rhodes and husband, Don, of Joplin, Mo.; one daughter-in-law, Janette Long; a brother, Leslie Dillinger, of Miami; two sisters, Opal Roberts, of Pryor, Okla. and Nola Chamberlain of Afton; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and numerous step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, an infant son, Wilkie Leroy Long, and a son, Bob Long.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at First Baptist Church in Afton with the Revs. Charles Price, Herschel Barnes, and Jim Drake officiating. Pallbearers will be Robert Long, Ray Long, Willie Long, Randy Rhodes, Robbie Rhodes, and Garydon Rhodes. Honorary pallbearers will be Leslie Dillinger, Hubert Mustain, Bob Burris, Don Rhodes, and Bill Chrismon. Burial will follow at Ballard Cemetery in Bernice.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, at Adcock Funeral Home in Afton. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Afton First Baptist Church Building Fund or the Ballard Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.
Arrangements provided by Adock Funeral Home of Afton.

BILLIE MARIE LOPEZ
COLCORD, Okla. - Billie Marie Lopez, 76-year-resident of Colcord, died August 11, 2002 at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital, Siloam Springs, Ark. Born September 24, 1925 in Gravette, Ark., she was the daughter of William Foste, Jr., and Lois January Foste. She was a seamstress for Bear Brand Hosiery. She was a member of Dresden Baptist Church in Dresden, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis K. Lopez, two sons, Ivan (Buckshot) Lopez and Kenny Vic Lopez, one sister, Lucille Amos, and one grandson, Joshua Jones.
Survivors include: two daughters, Barbara Alexander and her husband, Jim, of Siloam Springs, and Billie Jones and her husband, Montie, of Tonnece, Okla.; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one sister, Francis Brown of Maysville, Okla., and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, at Dickson Cemetery near Cherokee City, Ark., with Walter Nielson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

ESTELLA LOTSPEICH
GROVE - Estella Lotspeich, 93, died Tuesday, October 29, 2002 at Grand Lake Villa. Private family services will be held at a later date.
Estella Lotspeich was born on June 29, 1909 in Burlington, Kan., to Henry and Mary Ellen (Ferguson) Eaton. She was married to Glenn Phillips, Sr. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Lotspeich was a homemaker. She had lived in the Grove area for 10 years, moving from Arizona.
Survivors include: two sons, Glenn William Phillips, Jr., and Richard Lynn Phillips, both of Texas; one sister, Lena Eaton Salsbury, Carthage, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers and sisters.
Services are entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home, 107 S. Broadway, Grove.

KENNETH LEE LOVETTE
KANSAS, Okla. - Kenneth Lee Lovette, 64-year-old lifetime resident of Kansas, died Sunday, January 20, 2002 at Quail Ridge Living Center in West Siloam Springs, Okla. Born September 10, 1937 in Pryor, Okla., he was the son of Monroe Lovette and Bessie Hoopengarner Lovette. Kenneth was a peacetime Naval veteran and a retired lead guitarist. He had also worked at Gates Rubber Company in Siloam Springs, Ark., and farmed. Kenneth was a member of the Colcord Church of Christ.
Survivors include: one son, Rick Lovette of Jay, Okla.; four brothers, Onnis Lovette of Downey, Calif., Chester Lovette of Muskogee, Okla., Herman Lovette of Florence, Kan., and Joe Lovette of Roseville, Calif.; four sisters, Marie Rogers of Kansas, Faye Rader of Tulsa, Okla., Elois Cooley of Sacramento, Calif., and Dolly Rapp of Tulsa; and many nieces and nephews. Kenneth was preceded in death by one son, Randy.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, at the Colcord Church of Christ with Mr. Larry Ellis officiating. Cremation arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs. Memorial contributions can be made to the Colcord Church of Christ.

LOIS WINIFRED (ELLIS) LOWE
MIAMI, Okla. - Lois Winifred (Ellis) Lowe, of Miami, left this earth to be with her loved ones in heaven at 4 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2002 after a long illness. She was 83.
Mrs. Lowe was born August 26, 1918, in Midway, Kan., to Charles and Eva (Faucett) Jones. She had worked as a cook in a cafe and at the school, was a caretaker, and a member of the Liberty Baptist Church.
She was married to Gene Lowe and resided in Pittsburg, Kan. She has lived in Miami for the last 25-30 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and a grandson.
Survivors include: three daughters, Leila Lowe and her husband, Dale, of Wichita, Kan., and Betty Frase and Doris Roof, both of Miami, Okla.; two sons, Marvin Ellis of Banning Calif., and Charles Ellis and wife, Beverly, of Walters, Okla.; one brother, Harold Jones of Bentonville, Ark.; 22 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, at the Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carol Holden officiating. Burial will be in the Howard Cemetery, Goodman, Mo., under the direction of the Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home in Miami.
Pallbearers will be Charles Ellis, Randy McCormick, Wesley Eidson, Dale Lowe, Jeff Johnson, and Tracey Parham.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 10
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Miami Nursing Home or the Liberty Baptist Church.

JOHN ALLEN LUMPKINS
PORTER, Okla. - Graveside services for John Allen Lumpkins of Porter were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 31, 2002 at the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery with Reverend Eric Allen officiating. Services are under the direction of Shipman Funeral Home & Crematory in Wagoner, Okla.
John was born in West Plains, Mo., on March 15, 1924 to Otto and Ruth (Richardson) Lumpkins. He passed away Tuesday, October 29, at his home at the age of 78. John was a WW II Veteran of the United States Army. He and his family have lived in Porter for over 10 years, moving from Grove. John worked as a truck driver, and had been a Long Hauler for Tri-State and J.B. Hunt Companies until his retirement in 1988. He enjoyed Stock Car Racing and was very proud of his coin collection. John loved spending time with his family. Throughout the years, this included helping with his children's FFA activities and being a proud grandpa of eight. John will be deeply missed by all those blessed to have known him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Ruth Lumpkins.
Left to cherish his memory are: his wife, Leona (Dunaway) Lumpkins, of the home; one son, Keith Lumpkins and his wife, Maria Kaye, of Porter, Okla.; one daughter, Mary Hardesty and her husband, Ivan, of Grove; eight grandchildren, Amanda, Jacob, Adam, Rhonda, Tonya, Ashley, David and Michael, and a host of friends.

JACOB HENRY LUNSFORD
COMMERCE, Okla. - Jacob Henry Lunsford, 60, of Commerce, Okla., died Saturday, August 3, 2002 at Baptist Regional Health Center after a sudden illness. Mr. Lunsford was born Sept. 2, 1941 in Washington State to Riley and Marjorie (Van Tyele) Lunsford, and lived here for 11 years, moving from Augusta, Ga. Mr. Lunsford was a retired Master Sgt., serving with the Army in Vietnam. He was a member of the John S. Davieson Masonic Lodge in Augusta, Ga., and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Lunsford married Helen McGarry on July 22, 1978 in Augusta, Ga. She survives of the home.
He is survived by: his son, James Vince Lunsford, of Washington State; stepson, Donald John Brantley of Augusta, Ga.; daughter, Theresa Stringer of Washington State; stepdaughter, Donna Patricia Chapman of Commerce, Okla.; brothers, Bill Lunsford, Sr. of rural Miami, and Robert Lunsford of Carson City, Nev.; and seven grandchildren.
His parents, a brother, James, and sister, Ione Davies preceded him in death.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, August 7, at 10 a.m. in the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home, Commerce. Mr. Lunsford's nephew, Bill Lunsford, Jr., will officiate. The Northeast Oklahoma Veterans Funeral Detail will render military rites. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home, Commerce. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

FLORENCE AUGUSTA LUPER
KANSAS, Okla. - Florence Augusta Luper, 90-year-old resident of Quail Ridge Living Center, died June 24, 2002. Born August 1, 1911 in Kansas, Okla., she was the daughter of Ben Winfield and Dora Baum Winfield. She was a lifetime resident of the Colcord and Kansas, Okla., area. She was a homemaker and member of Gospel Lighthouse Church in Kansas, Okla. She married Ben Luper December 6, 1931. Mrs. Luper was preceded in death by her husband, Ben, and one sister, Eva Hudson.
She is survived by five daughters, Bonnie Reed, Dora Edwards, and Judy Jackson, all of Kansas, Okla., Eva Lee Butler of Westville, Okla., and Diane Sarten of Siloam Springs, Ark.; three sons, Arthur Luper of Eagle Rock, Mo., George Luper of Watts, Okla., and John Luper of Siloam Springs; 47 grand children; two brothers, Marion Winfield of Riverton, Wyo., and Milan Winfield of Hanford, Calif.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 27, at Wasson Memorial Chapel with Brother Sam Andrews officiating. Burial will follow at Kansas Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark.

DOROTHY MAE LYLES
GROVE - Dorothy Mae Lyles, age 71, formerly of Sedalia, Mo., died Monday, March 4, 2002, at a hospital in Woodlands, Texas.
She was born October 23, 1930 in Columbia, Mo., daughter of Dr. Russell and Stella Strobel Sheffield. On October 14, 1949 in Miami, Okla., she married Dillard E. Lyles, who died April 29, 1981.
Mrs. Lyles was a 1948 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School of Sedalia, Mo. She was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ where she received confirmation. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Early in her married life she worked for the Sedalia Democrat Newspaper. She was a homemaker. She loved to camp and fish.
Survivors include: one daughter, Debra Werneke of Montgomery County, Texas; a son, Dillard Eddie Lyles of Sedalia; two sisters, Beatrice Irene Arnold and Mary Alice Flores, both of Sedalia.
Services were at 10:30 a.m., March 7 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sedalia with Rev. Frederick Zahn officiating.
The services were under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

JOHN M. 'JOHNNY' MAHONEY
VINITA, Okla. - John M. "Johnny" Mahoney, 80-year-old life time Vinita resident, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2002 at Craig General Hospital following a sudden illness.
Johnny was born December 16, 1921 in Vinita to J.M. "Pat" Mahoney and Minnie Gertrude Nidiffer Mahoney. He attended Vinita schools and, in 1932-1933, was mascot for the Vinita High School Blue and White Gladiators. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Texas. As a youth he worked at the National Army and Navy Store, and owned by C.H. Goodpaster. John served in the Army Air Force during WW II as a staff sergeant. In 1954, John built the KVIN radio station. He was a long time owner and operator of the Sunny-Pat Real Estate Agency. He had served on the board of the Grand River Dam Authority. On September 8, 1970, the State of Oklahoma incorporated the Eastern Trails Museum, and John served on the Oklahoma Historical Society committee. He was a member of the Vinita Chamber of Commerce, the American Legion, a former Rotarian, and a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Johnny was united in marriage to Bette Wyatt on September 11, 1950. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include: two sons, John M. Mahoney, Jr., and wife, Jana, of Tulsa, Okla., and Timothy Pat Mahoney and fiancee, Judy McGrady, of Vinita; one brother, George Mahoney, of McQueeny, Texas; and two grandchildren, Michelle Erin Mahoney and Eric John Mahoney.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 10, at the Fairview Cemetery. Rev. Charles Herndon officiated. Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
Services were under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home.
