DELORIS A. MASON
CENTERTON - Deloris A. Mason, 61, of Centerton, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2002 at Bates Medical Center in Bentonville, Ark.
Mrs. Mason was born December 1, 1940 at Great Bend, Kan., the daughter of Claude R. and Mary Ruth McFadden Mason. She was a school bus driver for the Bentonville Public School System and a member of cornerstone Baptist Church in Bentonville. She grew up in Sulphur Springs and graduated from Sulphur Springs High School.
She is survived by two brothers, Theodore Mason of Noel, Mo., and Gerald Mason of Grove, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, at Centerton Cemetery with Rev. Larry Markum officiating. Visitation will be Monday, July 29, from 6-8 p.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church, Hwy. 12W in Bentonville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cornerstone Baptist Church. Arrangements by Benton County Funeral Home, Rogers, Ark.

THOMAS O. MAUTERER
GROVE - Thomas Mauterer, age 79, died Saturday April 20, 2002 in the Grove General Hospital. The son of Thomas P. and Addie L. (Crotchet) Mauterer, he was born on December 8, 1922 in Fleming, Kan. He was a veteran of W.W.II, serving in the U.S. Navy. Thomas worked for Cummins Diesel in Chicago, Ill., for 28 years. He married Ellsie L. Morris on December 23, 1944 in Washington, D.C., and she preceded him in death on January 18, 2001. Also preceding in death were his parents and two sisters, Betty Steele and Vera Hostar. He was a member of the Independent Baptist Church in Grove.
Survivors include: two sisters; Florence Theys in Huntsville, Ala., and Lois Flannagan, in Miami, Okla.; two sisters-in-law, Christian Norfolk in Alexandria, Va., Virginia in Benbrook, Texas; a brother-in-law, Scott Smith in Alexander, Va; and many friends and other relatives.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at the Buzzard Cemetery with Reverend Ray Melugin officiating. The Grove Veterans Ritual Team will conduct military rites. Family will receive friends at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

CHARLES H. CHARLIE MAY
BERNICE, Okla. - Charles H. (Charlie) May, age 82, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2002 at his home.
Charles H. May was born on June 3, 1919 in Kansas City, Mo., to Richard and Vera (Jones) May. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Fred Buse. Mr. May served in the Medical Corps of the U.S. Army during World War II in the European and Pacific Theatres. He married Vera Hinds on October 2, 1953 in Las Vegas, Nev. He retired from Crown Zellerbach in Los Angeles after 25 years. Mr. May and his wife moved to Bernice in 1987.
Survivors include: his wife, Vera, of the home; one son, Charles R. "Chuck" May and wife, Sandy, of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Mary Johnson of Tahlequah, Okla.; one granddaughter, Michelle May of Dallas; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, at Bernice Baptist Church with Bro. Butch Miller and Bro. Ray Clanton officiating. Interment will follow at Olympus Cemetery with Bro. Chester Crittenden officiating. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dale Frost, Mark Welch and nephews Dean Atchison, Danny Dunbar, Rex Tatum and Richie Matters. Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Cron, Bill Nall, Leroy Greninger, Roy Wilson, Owen Holley, Art Shackelford, Bob Hamm and Frank Floyd.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Charlie's memory to Bernice Baptist Church Building Fund, Box 3735, Bernice, OK 74331.
Services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

RUTH 'GRANNY' MAYES
VINITA, Okla. - Ruth "Granny" Mayes, 86-year-old Vinita resident, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2002 at Rosewood Terrace Nursing Center.
Ruth was born April 11, 1915 in Kibler, Ark., to Doc and Carrie (Hammond) Lollis. She was a homemaker and moved to the Vinita area in 1968 from Peoria, Ill. Through the years she was very active in Big Cabin School activities.
Ruth was married to Lawrence Aucutt in 1939. He preceded her in death. Her parents, one brother, and one sister also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one daughter, Donna Hicks of Vinita; two grandchildren that she raised, Jay Don Porter and Debbie Allen, of Vinita; additional grandchildren, Teresa Cantu of Ketchum, Okla., and Teddy Hicks of Vinita; seven great grandchildren, Kevin and Felicia Allen of Vinita, Justin Porter of Vinita, Anthony and Jaxon Cantu of Ketchum, and Kelsey and Braxton Hicks of Muskogee, Okla.; six sisters, Ruby, Ima, Faye, Betty, Jean and Ann; two brothers, O.D. and Luke; numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 11, at the Forrest Park Cemetery in Ft. Smith, Ark.
Services were under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home.

HEATHER GAIL McAFEE
BAXTER SPRINGS, Kan. - Heather Gail McAfee, age 20, of Baxter Springs, Kan., passed away Wednesday morning, January 2, 2002 after sustaining injuries in an automobile accident in the 3000 block of South Military Ave. in Baxter Springs.
Heather was born August 8, 1981 in Grove. She lived in Baxter Springs for 14 years and attended the Baxter Schools. She was currently employed at "The Stables" in Miami, Okla., and as a teller at the State Bank in Quapaw, Okla.
She is survived by: her mother and stepfather, Patricia and Ike Clark, of rural Baxter Springs; her father, William McAfee of Vinita, Okla.; her sister, Mari Sailors, of Newton, Kan.; her maternal grandfather, Willis Smith, of Grove, and her paternal step grandmother, June Clark, of Baxter Springs.
A Memorial Service was held Friday, January 4, at 1 p.m. at Derfelt's Baxter Chapel in Baxter Springs with Rev. Kent Rogers officiating. Her remains were taken for cremation and a private committal service will be observed at a later date.

MARCUS McCANN
MIAMI, Okla. - Marcus McCann, age 38, of Miami, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2002 at Integris Baptist Regional Medical Center in Miami after a long illness.
Mr. McCann was born April 2, 1963 in Brooklyn, New York, to William and Lia (Panzer) McCann. Mr. McCann has lived in Miami for the past five years, moving here from Brooklyn. He also served in the Army.
Mr. McCann married Jody Dinneny on October 14, 1987 in Brooklyn.
Survivors include: his wife, Jody, of the home; two sons, Joshua McCann and Matthew McCann, both of the home; his mother, Lia Candelario of New Jersey; two brothers, Eddie Morgan of Brooklyn, and Greg Morgan of New Jersey; and one sister, Rhonda McCann of New Jersey.
Private services will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home in Miami.

JACK McDONALD
PRYOR, Okla. - Jack McDonald, 78, passed away October 27, 2002 at the Mayes County Medical Center in Pryor. Mr. McDonald was born August 15, 1924 at Colcord, Okla. His father was Hugh Martin McDonald, and his mother was Mary Rose Potter. Jack married Nadene Henson on September 14, 1943, in Salina, Okla. They were married for 59 years and had seven children. A long-time resident of the Spavinaw, Okla., area, he was an avid fisherman and loved to teach his children and grandchildren how to catch "The Big One." He also loved Nadene's homemade pies, and said his favorite was a "hot pie or a cold pie."
Mr. McDonald was preceded in death by: one brother, Charles Louis McDonald; two sons, Jimmie Leon and Jackie Jean McDonald; one grandchild, Jackie Shane McDonald; and one great-great grandchild, Trynton Davis.
He is survived by: Nadene, his wife of 59 years; children, Mary Ann and husband, Jim, of Tulsa, Okla., Butch McDonald and wife, Kathy, of Spavinaw, Susie McDonald of Disney, and Donna Marie McDonald of Spavinaw; and two sisters, Etna Edderly and Francis Louise McDonald.
Mr. McDonald is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two daughters-in-law, Janiece McDonald and Brenda McDonald Odle.
Jack was loved by many friends and family and will be missed.
Visitation was held Tuesday, October 29, at Turner Funeral Chapel, Langley, Okla. Services will be held on October 30 at 2 p.m. at the Spavinaw Hills House of Worship in Spavinaw, where Mr. McDonald was a member.
Burial will be in the Spavinaw/Strang Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Turner Funeral Chapel, Langley.

CURTIS GILBERT McINTIRE
TULSA, Okla. - Curtis Gilbert McIntire, age 80, of Tulsa, passed away Monday, January 14, 2002 at Grove General Hospital. He was born March 30, 1921 in Tulsa to Thomas Harrison and Maggie F. McIntire. He graduated from Webster High in 1939 and then served his country in the US Marines as a Tank Radio Operator 2nd Division.
On December 30, 1950 he married Mary Margaret Smock in Conway, Ark. To this union came their son, Kenneth McIntire.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include: one son, Ken McIntire of Grove; granddaughter, Jill McIntire of Dallas, Texas; sister, Edna Hopper of Tulsa; five brothers and sisters-in-law, as well as numerous other loving family and friends.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 18, at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.

VICTOR L. McKINNON
ARDMORE, Okla. - Victor L. McKinnon of Ardmore, Okla., and a former Miami, Okla., resident, died early Friday morning, March 15, 2002 at the Mercy Hospital in Ardmore after an illness. He was 88.
Mr. McKinnon was born April 1, 1913 in Oklahoma to Ranzel Wyatt and Amanda (Ashley) McKinnon. He lived on farm near Fairland for several years, but lived in the Veterans Home at Ardmore for the past several years.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theatre.
Survivors include: two sisters, Marguerite Oat of Palm City, Fla., and Pauline Martin of Madisonville, Ky.; a nephew, James Audrain of Miami; and a niece, Pat McMullin of Grove. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters, Lila Blaylock, Lura Mae Audrain, and Lora Mericle.
Graveside Memorial Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 1, at the Fairland Cemetery with the Northeast Oklahoma Veterans Funeral Detail officiating. Burial was under the direction of the Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home in Miami.

IDA JAYNE MCLAIN
CLEORA, Okla. - Ida Jayne McLain was found shot to death at her residence in the Cleora area November 7, 2002. She was born September 6, 1948 in Tulsa, Okla., to Bob E. McLain and Frankie Holloway McLain.
Ms. McLain was an avid painter and animal lover.
She is survived by: her father, Bob; two sons, Scott Nelson of Langley, and Robert Nelson of Ketchum; three daughters, Patricia Smith of Tulsa, Rebecca Golden of Bluejacket, and Sheila Garza of Rosarita, Mexico. Ms. McLain was preceded in death by her mother, Frankie, and one daughter, Donna Renee Nelson.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, November 12, at the McLaughlin Cemetery near Cleora under the direction of the Turner Funeral Chapel in Langley.

MAVIS NADINE (WOODALL) McNELIS
COMMERCE, Okla. - Mavis Nadine (Woodall) McNelis, 76, of Commerce, died Saturday, August 3, 2002 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo., after an illness. Mrs. McNelis was born December 21, 1925 in Vinita, Okla., to James Tucker and Anna (Craig) Woodall. She has lived in Ottawa County for the past 40 years, moving here from Welch, Okla. Mrs. McNelis was a homemaker, a 50-year member of the V.F.W. Aux. and she attended the Southeast Baptist Church in Commerce. Mrs. McNelis married James Newton McNelis on January 31, 1947 in Oswego, Kan. He preceded her in death in March of 1997. A brother, Delbert Woodall, also preceded her.
She is survived by her son, Ron McNelis of Overland Park, Kan.; two daughters, Kate Randall and Karen McNelis, both of Wyandotte, Okla.; three brothers, Cecil Woodall of Grove, Marsdon Woodall of Vinita, Okla., and Arlis Woodall of Cleora, Okla.; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 6, in the Guilford-Thomas Home, Commerce. Leaford Bearskin will officiate assisted by Rev. Jerry Von Moss. Burial will be in the Glen Abbey Cemetery east of Miami, Okla., under the direction of the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home, Commerce. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers..
