J.C. ROBERTS
GROVE - Funeral services for J.C. Roberts, 75, were held Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002 at the First Baptist Church of Grove with interment at Olympus Cemetery under the direction of the Turner Funeral Home Chapel of Grove.
Mr. Roberts was born Dec. 25, 1926 in Grove to Orville and Marie Roberts, and died Wednesday, Oct. 16, in Tulsa, Okla.
He graduated from Grove High School and served in the U.S. military during World War II.
In 1945 he married Betty Ann Fox, who preceded him in death in 1977.
He served on the ASCS committee for 19 years, and on the Grove Board of Education for 10 years, as well as on the Grove Hospital board for a time.
He was a farmer and rancher all of his life and an avid quail hunter. He was also a charter member of Carr Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Nancy; three sisters, Eula Irene Manning, Anna Lee Barrett, and Imogene Muskrat, all of Grove; two children, Sam Edward Roberts of Grove, and Mary Jo White of Angleton, Texas; and eight grandchildren, Kaci Goodson, Tim Roberts, Matt Roberts, LeaAnn White, Jeff White, Rachel Wahleithner, James Wahleithner and Brittany Fugate.

LEE ROY ROBERTS
COLCORD, Okla. - Lee Roy Roberts, 63-year-old lifelong resident of Colcord died Friday, January 18, 2002 in Grove. Born February 14, 1938 in Delaware County, Okla., he was the son of Tony Weaver Roberts and Mabel Evaline Morgan Roberts. Lee Roy was a retired building contractor and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jay Roberts.
Survivors include: three daughters, Sherry Lea and Vicky Roberts, both of Colcord, and Terrie Anderson of Hugo, Okla.; one sister, Juanita Brown of Colcord; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four nieces and one nephew.
Funeral services were Monday, January 21, at 2 p.m. at Dickson Cemetery near Cherokee City, Ark., with Mr. Larry Ellis officiating. Arrangements by Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, Ark.

MALINDA ROBERTS
GROVE - Malinda Roberts of Grove went to be with the Lord Saturday, December 14, 2002. She was 86.
Mrs. Roberts was born October 6, 1916, to Taylor and Sarah (Smith) Davis in Ottawa County, Okla. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church in Grove, Gospel gals Church Choir, the Eastern Star, and the Tsa-la-gi Indian Club. She married James Roberts November 29, 1933, he preceded her in death in 1987.
Survivors include: two sons, Dave Roberts of Grove and Bobby G. Roberts of Tulsa, Okla.; one daughter, Mary Chaney of Sun City West, Ariz.; six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 17, at the Grove First Christian Church. Wayne Shaw and David Roberts will officiate. Interment will follow at the Council House Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home. Services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

MINNIE LEE ROBERTS
WEST SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. - Minnie Lee Roberts, age 79, of West Siloam Springs, Ark., died April 16, 2002 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark. Born October 21, 1922 in Greenville, Texas, she was the daughter of Ray Rollins and Maggie May Harvey Rollins. She married Julius Roberts February 9, 1942 in Altus, Okla. Mrs. Roberts was a member of the First Baptist Church, Frederick, Okla. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymon Rollins and J.W. Rollins, and one sister, Betty Myers.
Survivors include: her husband of 60 years, Julius Roberts; one son, Johnny Roberts and wife, Wilma, of Siloam Springs, Ark.; two daughters, Judy Reams and husband, Vernon, of Gentry, Ark., and Marilyn Meeker and husband, Jim, of Siloam Springs; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Vera Bearden, Velma Smiley, and Barbara Jones, all of Altus.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 18, at Wasson Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of the Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

ESTIE F. ROBERTSON
SOUTHWEST CITY, Mo. - Estie F. Robertson, age 94, formerly of Southwest City, Mo., died on Saturday, April 6, 2002 at 2:45 a.m. at Grove General Hospital after an illness.
Mrs. Estie Robertson was born on November 27, 1907 near Jay, Okla., to the late William L. and Melissa (Kerkindall) George. She attended school in Delaware County, Okla. She was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church in Southwest City.
She married Irvine E. Robertson in 1926. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1963.
Survivors include: one daughter, Maxine Stephenson and husband, Sonny, of Southwest City; one brother, Everette George of Grove; two grandchildren, Keith Stephenson and wife, Lori, of Southwest City, Wes Stephenson and wife, Janice, of Jay; and seven great-grandchildren, Brittney, Samantha, Nikki, Rachael, Sean, Felecia, and Kody.
Funeral services for Estie Robertson will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at the Full Gospel Church in Southwest City, Mo. Reverend Mark Short will officiate. Burial will be in the Polson Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jim Womack, David Womack, Bill Berry, Shane Berry, Darrel Robertson, and Charlie Apperson. Honorary pallbearers will be M.L. Johnson and Earl Barnes.

PEGGY ROBINSON
MIAMI, Okla. - Peggy Robinson of Miami died at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2002 at the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Okla., after an illness. She was 75.
Peggy was born on April 25, 1926 at Hockerville, Okla., to Carl and Hattie P. (Robison) Ferguson. She had lived in this area her entire life. She graduated from the Baxter Springs High School in Baxter Springs, Kan., with the class of 1944, and graduated from Northeastern A&M College in 1946.
She had formerly worked at the Security Bank in the Bookkeeping Dept. She had also worked for Wallace and Owens Law Firm and the Burlington Manufacturing Company. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Langley, Okla.
Peggy married Jack B. Robinson on June 23, 1946 at Baxter Springs, Kan.
Survivors include: her husband, Jack B. Robinson, of the home; one son, Jack B. Robinson, Jr., of Weatherford, Texas; one daughter, Janelle Rogers and husband, Jim, of Rocky Comfort, Mo.; one sister, Jean Ann Sidebottom of Lyons, Kan,; two grandchildren, Justin Rogers of Miami, Okla., and Jebadiah Rogers of Ft. Hood, Texas; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11, at the Ottawa Indian Cemetery with the Rev. Leonard Stoner officiating. Burial was under the direction of the Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home in Miami.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Arthritis Foundation and may be sent in care of the funeral home.

IRIS E. RODERICK
GROVE - Iris E. Roderick passed away October 28, 2002 at the Grove Nursing Center at the age of 89.
Preceding her in death was her husband of nearly 70 years, William Paul Roderick, and their eldest son, William Paul, Jr.
Iris was born in Reeds Spring, Mo., on December 8, 1912.
Surviving her are three sons, Don of Grove, Ron of Grove, and Robert of Dallas; 10 grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, November 1, at the Smith Funeral Home in Sapulpa, Okla.

DELLA (LEE) ROGERS
WEBB CITY, Mo. - Dell (Lee) Rogers, age 90, of Webb City, Mo., passed away at 2:05 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2002 at the Grove Nursing Center in Grove following a brief illness.
Mrs. Rogers was born September 29, 1912 in Purcell, Mo., to Robert and Laura Moore Lee. She was a 1930 graduate of Alba High School. She had lived in Webb City most of her life. She and her husband were in partnership with her brother and sister-in-law with the Lee and Rogers Damaged Freight Co. in Webb City. She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church of Webb City. She was a member of the Good Sams Travel Club. She was a former Girl Scout Leader, and was formerly active with the Webb City Ladies of Lions Club.
She married Fred "Fritz" Rogers on December 24, 1934 in Kansas City, Mo., and he survives. Additional survivors include: two daughters, Donna Richardson and her husband, Ron, Annapolis, Md., and Ginger Pearish and her husband, Bill, Grove; four grandchildren, Douglas Richardson, Lori Berry, Heather Richardson, and Tadd Pearish, and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Hedge-Lewis Chapel with Randy L. Wilson, Minister, officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Hedge-Lewis Funeral Homer of Webb City. Pallbearers will be Jack Wilson, Gary Spear, Dale Wilson, Chuck Wilson, Douglas Richardson, and Tadd Pearish.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Friday evening at the Chapel. Memorial contributions are requested for the Community Hospice of Joplin.

MARY MERLENE ROGERS
JAY, Okla. - Mary Merlene Rogers, 68, passed away at Grove General Hospital on October 8, 2002. She was born February 16, 1934 southwest of Jay, to William Henry Roberts and Mary Edith Athay Roberts.
Merlene married Earl Eugene Rogers on January 1, 1967, and worked as a homemaker most of her life. She is preceded in death by: her husband, Gene; four brothers, Earl Roberts, Herman Roberts, George Roberts, and Jor Roberts; three sisters, Jessie Roberts, Leonia Roberts, and Jerry Cotrell; and one nephew, Jimmy Bowline.
She is survived by: one sister, Ruby Bowline; one stepdaughter, Cathy Hollenback; nieces, Sherry Pope, Mary Satterwhite, Judy Murray, Pam Goins, and Theresa Oats; nephews, John Roberts, Danny Cotrell, Ronnie Cotrell, Billy Bowline, and Terry Roberts; and a large extended family.
Family viewing will be Thursday at 6 to 8 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Chapel, Jay.
Services for Merlene will be held 2 p.m. Friday, October 11, at the Dogwood Chapel at Lakemont Shores. Mary Merlene Rogers will be laid to rest by her husband, Gene, at the City Cemetery at Kansas, Okla. Services are under the direction of Turner Funeral Chapel, Jay.

RAY FRANKLIN ROGERS
JAY, Okla. - Ray Franklin Rogers of Jay died Tuesday, March 5, 2002 at the Integris Grove General Hospital in Grove. He was 85.
Ray was born November 20, 1916 to Levi Harrison and Jo Ivy (Burns) Rogers in Leach, Okla. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. He worked as a mechanic and welder in California before retiring in 1980. After retirement he moved to Jay. He married Edith (Allison) Rogers on March 11, 1939, she preceded him in death.
Survivors include: two daughters, Rosa Lee Goodell of Jay, and Rachel Moore of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Gladys Kirk of Jenks, Okla., and Faye Dykes of Rose, Okla.; one brother, Gene Rogers of Leach; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at the Elm Cemetery in Leach. Military Rites and services are by the Grove Veterans Ritual Team. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay.

JOSEPH L. ROLLER
Funeral services for Joseph L. Roller, 36, of Kansas, Okla., will be held Friday Nov. 22, 2002, at Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs, Ark. with Mark Rotramel officiating. Burial will follow at Bell Cemetery, near West Siloam Springs, Okla., under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home.
Mr. Roller was born Dec. 17, 1965 in Newport, Ark. to David Roller and Anna Goad Roller, and died Nov. 16, 2002, at his home. He was a lifetime resident of northwest Arkansas and northeast Oklahoma and worked as a truck driver for Tyson Pork Group. He was a graduate of Siloam Springs High School, and married Raylene Cranford in Stilwell, Okla. in 1982.
Survivors include: his wife of the home; two sons, Kyle Roller and his wife, Ashley, and Chris Roller, all of the home; a grandson, Bryce Roller, of the home; his parents of Siloam Springs; his step-parents, John and Lou Cranford of Westville, Okla.; two brothers, Jimmy Miller of Union City, Okla., and Mike Miller of Kansas, Okla.; four sisters, Nancy Williams and Rachelle Raimer, both of Siloam Springs, Reba Haar of Kellar, Texas and Mellissa Morris of Holton, Kan.

JEWEL LEE ROSE
JAY, Okla. - Jewel Lee Rose, 75, passed away November 2, 2002 at her home in rural Jay. Jewel was born March 7, 1927 in Ft. Smith, Ark., to Floyd Smith and Vesta (Partain) Smith. Jewel was married to Otis Burl Rose who preceded her in death. Jewel retired from K-Mart after 20 years of service.
Survivors include: three daughters, Frances and husband, Fred Archambo, of Sand Springs, Okla., Carolyn and husband, Mark Wayne, of Tulsa, Okla., and Marilyn Lacy of Jay; four sisters, Juna Doyle of Springfield, Mo., and Mildred Allen, Loretta Jones and Dorothy Plemmons, all of California.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, Jack and Warren Smith.
Family visitation will be held Monday, November 4, at 6 p.m. at Turner Funeral Chapel in Jay. Graveside services for Jewel will be held Tuesday, November 5, at 2 p.m. at Floral Haven Cemetery, Tulsa. Services are under the direction of Turner Funeral Chapel, Jay.
