RICHARD BUCK STICK
EUCHA, Okla. - Funeral services for Richard Buck Stick, 57, of Kansas, Okla., were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2002 in the Round Springs Baptist Church in Eucha. Reverends Randall Cummings and Albert Robbins officiated. Burial followed in the Long Prairie Cemetery in Twin Oaks, Okla. Services were under the direction of Key Funeral Home, Locust Grove, Okla.
Mr. Stick was born April 27, 1945 in Claremore, Okla., and passed away November 2 in Grove.
He was the son of Andrew and Mary Jane (Tanner) Stick. He grew up and attended school in the Oaks, Okla., area, graduating from Oaks Mission High School. Not long after, he was drafted into the Army, where he served in Vietnam. He made his home with his grandparents for many years. He married his wife, Carolyn Fields, and they made their home in the Kansas, Okla., area where they raised a family. He enjoyed life and all it had to offer. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to everyone. He will be greatly missed by all who shared in his life.
Survivors include: his wife, Carolyn Stick, of the home; two sons, Michael Stick, of Sulphur, Okla., and Craig Stick, of Kansas; two daughters, Bobbie Sanchez, of Tahlequah, Okla., and Lindsey Stick of Jay; three sisters, Betty Ripatoe of Bartlesville, Okla., Mary Hamalton, of Jay, and Melissa Tanner, of Jay; eight brothers, Levi, Joe, Alan, Eli and David Tanner, all of Jay, Bobby Stick of Oregon, Calif., Alvin and Dennis Stick, of Kansas; and seven grandchildren. A host of other family members also survive.
His parents, grandparents, one son, Brian Eugene Stick, and two brothers preceded him in death.

NED 'JUNE' STILL, JR.
LANGLEY, Okla. - Services for Ned "June" Still, Jr., were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2002 in the Chapel of the Garden at Rice Funeral Service. Rev. Charlie Lehman officiated. June was buried at Dick Duck Cemetery in Catoosa with full military honors. June passed away Thursday, July 18, at his home in Langley.
Born May 12, 1922 at Park Hill, Okla., to Ned and Ida Myrtle (Nave) Still, Sr., he was a descendant of Chief John Ross of the Cherokee Nation.
June was a veteran of World War II and belonged to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, DAV, VFW, and the American Legion.
June's favorite pastime was fishing, regardless of whether the fish were biting or not. He was a compassionate and caring man who loved people and will be deeply missed by those who were fortune enough to know him.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, who he married in 2002, of the home; his son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Connie Still of Foyil; his daughter, Denise Still of Woodward; his brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Sherry Still of Claremore; his sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Hugh Howard of Tulsa; his sisters, Ella Mae Hinkle of Ponca City and Eva Brown of Tulsa; three grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Sammie, Cookie and Homer Still. Also preceding him in death are his wives, Jean, in 1981, and Velma, in 1996.

RENEE D. STILLEY
GROVE - Renee Denise Stilley, age 32, died Wednesday, April 17, 2002 at Integris Grove General Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 20, at Ellis Family Home Chapel with Mr. Bob Hampton officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 19, at the funeral home.
Renee Stilley was born on May 11, 1969 in Glendora, Calif., to Phillip and Sandra (Lutz) Stilley. She served in the United States Navy and worked as a registered nurse. Renee had lived in the Grove area for three years, coming from Seneca, Mo.
Survivors include: her mother and step-father, Sandee and John Crawford of Grove; her father and step-mother, Phillip and Ellen Stilley of Afton; one daughter, Kylee Stilley of Grove; two brothers, Raymond Stilley of Grove, and Phillip Stilley of Wyandotte, Okla.; grandfather, Raymond Stilley of Wyandotte; one step-brother, Robert Karch of Grove; two step-sisters, Lou Ann Karch of Grove and Stephanie Hall of Chelsea, Okla.; and two half sisters, Brandi Grajeda of Riverside, Calif., and Nikki McGauh of Corona, Calif. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Services are entrusted to Ellis Funeral Home in Grove.

GEORGE CORNELL 'PENIE' STOKES
MIAMI, Okla. - George Cornell "Penie" Stokes, age 83, of Miami, Okla., died at 2:25 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2002 at Osborne Care and Rehab Center.
Stokes was born on January 10, 1919 in Alicia, Ark., to Clay and Prudy K. (Padgett) Stokes. He moved to Miami while still a very young child. He attended Miami schools and graduated in 1936 from Miami High School. While a teenager, he was a four-state swimming and diving champion for several years.
He married Fannie Pauline Skye on January 13, 1937 in Columbus, Kan. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in January of this year.
Stokes was the owner and manager of Stokes Cardinal Food Store in Miami. He retired in 1979. He was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Miami. He was very active in the Miami Elks Lodge and was proud to be a past exalted ruler. He was also an active member of the Miami Evening Lions and the Retail Grocers Association.
Survivors include: his wife, Fannie; one son, George Clay Stokes II and wife, Sandra, of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren, George Daniel Stokes of Houston, Texas, and Catherine Skye Eckart of Bastrop, Texas; and a niece, Suella Donica, of Tulsa, Okla.
His parents, and a brother, Nathan Lavere Stokes, preceded him in death.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorials be given to the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer's Association. Memorials may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the associations at American Diabetes Association, Warren Clinic Tower, 6600 South Yale, Suite 1310, Tulsa, OK 74136; Alzheimer's Association, Oklahoma Chapter, 6465 South Yale, Suite 206, Tulsa, OK 74136-7804.
The funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, May 16, at the First Baptist Church, 1st and 'A' SW, Miami. Burial will follow at the Lowell Cemetery in Lowell, Kan. Pallbearers will be Lawrence Barger, John Froman, Don Giles, Steve Kinder, Johnny Livingston, and Bob Riley. Honorary pallbearers are Lewis Bamberl, John Farless, Joe Gibbs, Buff Highland, Bob Hunt, and Jess McKibben.
Funeral services are under the direction of the Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home in Miami.

N. JEAN STONE
FAIRLAND, Okla. - N. Jean Stone, Fairland resident, died Wednesday, March 20, 2002 at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami, Okla., after an illness. She was 92.
She was born September 6, 1909 at Fairland to Elias and Clara Deems Bowen. She graduated from Fairland and attended two years of college. She was an office manager and bookkeeper for Vinita Flag and Apron Co. for 20 years, retiring in 1974. She married John L. Stone in 1930, and he preceded her in death in 1991. After retiring, she moved to Midlothian, Texas, where she lived for 10 years, returned to Miami for one year, and then back to Fairland for one year.
Survivors include: one son, Keith Stone and wife, Joyce, of Fairland; a daughter, Helen Lundberg and husband, Kenneth, of Midlothian; two sisters, Sybil Thompson of Vinita, Okla., and Maud Kroenke of Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at Adcock Chapel in Fairland with Rev. Andy Krebs officiating. Pallbearers will be Frank Tipton, Gerald Tipton, Bob Deatherage, Bill Schnarre, Bill Goodman, and Pete Baker. Burial will follow at Fairland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Adcock Funeral Home in Fairland.
Arrangements are provided by Adcock Funeral Home in Fairland.

TERRI ELIZABETH HARRIS STOUT
GROVE - A memorial service is scheduled for Terri Elizabeth Stout, 42, former Grove City Treasurer, at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2002 at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Grove. Mrs. Stout passed away at her home April 12 after a long battle with cancer. Mrs. Stout was born April 30, 1959 at Sterling, Colo., to Sam Harris and Jackie Fonkalsrud Harris. Moving to Grove in 1972, she attended Grove schools and graduated from Grove High School in 1977. She married Bill Stout July 20, 1983. She was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. She was Grove City Treasurer from 1979 until March, 2002, when she took early medical retirement. She also served as acting City Manager at various times during city tenure as City Treasurer. She was preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by: her husband, Bill Stout; daughter, Nicole Lynn Stout of the home; stepson Jeff Stout of Grove; her mother, Jackie Fritchen of Winchester, Tenn.; two brothers, Bill Stuart of Moberly, Mo., and Sam Harris, III of Tulsa, Okla.; four sisters, Toni Stuart of Nashville, Tenn., Jan Balsley of Winchester, Tenn., Deborah Burchard of Blacksburg, Va., and Mary Rigas of Naperville, Ill.; step-mother Melissa Harris; aunts and uncles, Owen and Jan Fonkalsrud of Tulsa, Okla., and George and Jessie Grafford of Edmond, Okla.; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Cater Funeral Home of Moberly, Mo., is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Stout's ashes will be placed in the columbarium at St. Andrew's Church with the Rev. Howard Wilson and the Rev. Phil Lawrence officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice of Grove.

ROSEZETTA 'ZETTA' MAE STURGES
JAY, Okla. - Rosezetta "Zetta" Mae Sturges, of Jay, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 18, 2002 at the Monroe Manor in Jay. She was 91.
Rosezetta was born May 14, 1911 to William "Large" and Ona "Mammy" Robertson at Golden, Mo. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Jay. She married Julian "Juke" Sturges in 1928. He preceded her in death July 26, 1982. Also preceding her in death were her mother and father, five brothers, one sister, and one grandson, Rodney Shuck.
Survivors include: two sons, Carles "Dick" Sturges and wife, Mary Lou, of Miami, Okla., and Raymond Sturges and wife, Judy, of Topsy; four daughters, Velda Bea Carr and husband, Charley, of Jay, Lora Mae Morrow of Topsy, Violet LaRay Hall and husband, Joe, of Jay, and Sue Nell Shuck of Jay; two sisters, Melvina Martin, of Jay, and Pauline Whisamore of Welch, Okla.; one brother, Cot Robertson, of Topsy; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday, September 21, at the First Assembly of God Church in Jay. Rev. Bill Goldner officiated. Zetta was laid to rest next to her husband at Mose Ridge Cemetery west of Jay.
Services were under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay.

CHRISTINA G. SWAKE
COLCORD, Okla. - Christina G. Swake, 58-year-old resident of Colcord, Okla., died September 30, 2002 at her home. She was born December 1, 1943 in Gentry, Ark. Christina was affiliated with the Colcord Church of Christ.
Survivors include: her parents, Evelyn and Alva Linam of Colcord; one brother, Steve Linam of Dumas, Texas, and one sister, Stephanie Teel of Colcord.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 3, at Colcord Church of Christ, Colcord, with Larry Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at Row Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark.

HELEN CARMEN SWISHER
WYANDOTTE, Okla. - Helen Carmen Swisher, age 62, of Wyandotte, Okla., died at 9:19 a.m., Saturday, April 20, 2002 at her home, following a sudden illness. Mrs. Swisher was born January 24, 1940 in Camden, Mich., and moved to the area from Michigan. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, sewing, and painting. She attended the Council House Church in Wyandotte. She married Tom Swisher on December 23, 1989 in Grove.
Survivors include: her husband, Tom, of the home; three daughters, Julie Huggins of Joplin, Mo., Cathe Rossman of Belle Vista, Ark., and Sherri Bradford of Glenwood Springs, Co.; two sons, Rusty Chamberlain, Ohio, and Grover Lowe of Michigan; three step-daughters, Tanya Goza of Grove, Kathryn Lamb of Joplin, and Lisa Mennecke of Grove; two step-sons, Tommy Swisher of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Lance Swisher of Baxter Springs, Kan.; four brothers, Franks Butts, Myron Butts, John Adams, and Carl Adams, all of Michigan; five sisters, Naomi Butts of Seneca, Mo., Alene McCavit, Sharon Ladd, Shirley Shoemaker, and Barbara Seeley, all of Michigan; 24 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday, April 23, at 10 a.m. at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Darwin King will officiate. Burial will be in the New Salem Cemetery, west of Neosho, and family members will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call to 7 p.m. Monday, April 22, at the Clark Funeral Home. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Swisher may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Clark Funeral Home, P.O. Box 66, Neosho, MO 64850. Services under the direction of the Clark Funeral Home in Neosho.

ANNA MARIE TAGG
JAY, Okla. - Anna Marie Tagg, age 64, died Tuesday, April 16, 2002 in the York Manor in Muskogee, Okla. The daughter of William and Mary (Miller) Stick, she was born on July 30, 1937 at Oaks in Delaware County, Okla. Anna was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She wore many hats, all with a smile. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Anna enjoyed listening to gospel music, painting pictures, visiting about old times, and going for long drives. She passed on her Native American heritage to her children and grandchildren with pride. Anna married Henry Tagg Sr. on February 27, 1952 and he preceded her in death on January 1, 1992.
Survivors include: seven children, Henry Tagg Jr. of Leach, Okla., William Bill Tagg (Gabby) of Stillwell, Okla., Kelly Ann Tagg Wilson of Ketchum , Okla., Carolyn Sue Tagg Prine of Ketchum, Cathleen Marie Tagg King of Jay, Okla., Birda Mae Tagg Logan of Rio Vista, Calif., and Mary Jo Tagg Gilley of Tahlequah, Okla.; two step-daughters, Eva Lee Tagg Hall of Jay, and Loretta Tagg King of Sallisaw, Okla.; her mother, Mary Stick Turtle of Spavinaw, Okla.; two brothers, Adam Stick of Southwest City, Mo., and Michael Charles Stick of Big Cabin, Okla.; one sister, Bessie (Stacy) Stick Summerfield of Jay; one aunt, Anna Mae Stick Wright of Jay; 31 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 11 nieces and nephews. A grandchild, Natasha Marie, also preceded her in death.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, in the First Baptist Church. The Interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery. She will be at her sister's house for a visitation on Friday. The services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay.

ALTA MAXINE TAUUNEACIE
GROVE - Alta Tauuneacie, age 72, died Monday February 4, 2002 in her home. The daughter of John and Alice (Stogsdill) Hoog, she was born February 18, 1929 in Grove. Mrs. Tauuneacie was baptized in the Butler Baptist Church and lived all her life in the Grove area. She was a member of the V.F.W. Aux. She married James Tauuneacie, he preceded her in death on December 3, 1989. Also preceding in death were two brothers, Bill and Dorris Hoog, and a daughter-in-law, Carol Fields.
Survivors include: seven children, Wallace Gary Fields and wife, Sarah, of Grove, Leonard Gale Fields of Topeka, Kan., Lester Dale Fields of Topeka, James Wesley Fields of Grove, Lewis Lucas Tauuneacie and wife, Teresa, of Jay, Okla., Dan Eugene Tauuneacie and wife, Cindy, of Grove, and Shawnee Dawn Rooney and husband, Mark, of Grove; a brother Dennis Hoog of Pryor, Okla.; three sisters, Betty Layton of Pryor, Sue Moorehead of Locust Grove, Okla., and Joyce Pursley of Locust Grove; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 6, at the Butler Baptist Church in Grove. Rev. Dolphus Blevins and Rev. John E. Butler to officiate. Interment will follow at the Tauuneacie Family Cemetery.
The services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

ZORA JANAVINCE 'JEAN' TAYLOR
CHOUTEAU, Okla. - Former Welch, Okla., resident, now of Chouteau, Okla., Zora Janavince "Jean" Taylor passed away at the South Crest Hospital in Tulsa, Okla., Wednesday morning, May 15, 2002 after a short illness. She was 84-years-old.
Jean Squires was born January 14, 1918 in Welch. Her parents were G.W. and Hazel J. Walker Squires. She graduated from the Galva, Kan., High School. On March 20, 1937, Jean became the loving wife of Albert Owen Taylor in LaCrosse, Kan. Their union lasted 57 years, until Albert passed away on June 29, 1994.
In 1947, the couple moved to Chouteau. Jean became a licensed Real Estate Agent and for several years was employed at Jackson's Real Estate Office in Pryor. Jean was active in her community. She was a life-long member of the Eastern Star Lodge, proud of her Cherokee heritage, was a member of the Cherokee Tribe and was also active in the Pochahantus Club, a Cherokee heritage club, in Claremore, Okla. Accepting Christ as her Savior, at an early age, Jean was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church in Chouteau, and was active in the United Methodist Women's Organization. Her interests ranged from cooking, and growing flowers, to owning race horses. Several of her horses won at area racing tracks. In later years, Jean became interested in the youth of her community, and for the last 10 years volunteered at the Chouteau Elementary School as a Foster Grandmother.
Jean is predeceased by her husband and parents, and one sister, Nadine Wilson.
She is survived by one son, W.D. Taylor, of Chouteau; one sister, Erma Jean Roth of Grove; one granddaughter, Robin Flynn of Claremore; one grandson, W.T.D. Taylor of Running Springs, Colo.; one very special great-granddaughter, Bryana N.L. Taylor of Norco, Colo.; and many other relatives and friends.
Jean's services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at the United Methodist Church in Chouteau. Reverend James Peek will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Butch Lighfoot, Kenny Ward, Dale Ward, Jim Finnell, and Gary Dunegan.
Jean will be laid to rest by her husband in the Walker Cemetery west of Welch, Okla.
Family will meet in the home of her son, J.D. Taylor, at 415 West Cowley Street, in Chouteau.
The services are under the direction of Jim Thomas of the Thomas Funeral Home in Welch.
