MORGAN RENEE VANATTA
MIAMI, Okla. - Morgan Renee Vanatta, infant daughter of David and Suzette (Caillout) Vanatta, was stillborn May 16, 2002 at Baptist Regional Hospital in Miami.
Additional survivors include: Michael Paul Vanatta of the home; maternal grandparents, Deanna and Darren Caillout of Garyville, La.; paternal grandparents, David and Judy Vanatta, Sr. of rural Miami; paternal grandmother, Dawn Bonck of Garyville, La.; paternal great-grandparents, Roy and Rita Vanatta of Miami; paternal great-grandfather, Norman Bonck of Garyville, La.; paternal great-grandmother, Crystal Bonck of Lafayette, La.; maternal great-grandmother, Lois Caillout of Garyville, La.; and maternal great-grandmother, Isabella Bivona of Norco, La.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 20, in the Greenlawn Cemetery, north of Treece, Kan. Rev. Robert Taylor officiated.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home in Miami.

BOBBY S. 'BOB' VERNON
GROVE - Bobby S. "Bob" Vernon, age 81, died Tuesday, May 14, 2002 in the Grove General Hospital after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. The son of Louis and Elise (Boxarth) Vernon, he was born on May 9, 1921 in Gray Horse, Okla. Since his father served in the U.S. Army for 35 years, the family moved to Columbia, S.C., where Bob graduated from school. Following in his father's footsteps, Bob joined the Army Air Corps on September 23, 1939. He received a battlefield commission in Italy during WWII.
Bob married Lucille Linder in Hutchinson, Kan., on January 8, 1955. He honorably retired as a Major in the U.S. Air Force on August 31, 1962. After moving his family to Grove in 1963, he ran a poultry business, worked at the NAPA and then repaired appliances for members of the community.
He was a life member of the Retired Officers Association, the experimental Aircraft Association, The Grove Lion's Club, a 40-year member of the First United Methodist Church, and active in the Grove Municipal Airport.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Louise, and a son, Richard Lee.
He leaves behind to carry on his lifetime of smiles and hard work: his wife, Lucille Vernon of Grove; three children, Louis Vernon and wife, Nicla, of Petersburg, Tenn., Mary Ellen Weeks of Las Vegas, Nev., and Annette Jean Galletos and husband, Michael, of Denver, Colo.; two sisters, Betty Kirby of Chicago, Ill., and Masie Pugh and husband, George, of Eufalla, Ala.; and five grandchildren, Andrew, Annetta Marie, Jason, Steven, and Zachary.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 17, in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dick Weaver officiating. The interment will be in the Buzzard Cemetery with the Grove Veterans Ritual Team giving Veterans Honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to the Grove Scholarship Fund in honor of the Veterans killed in Viet Nam, P.O. Box 450789, Grove, OK 74345.
The services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

MARIE VOGEL
VINITA, Okla. - Marie Vogel, 92-year-old longtime Vinita resident passed away Sunday, January 27, 2002 in Bristow, Okla.
Marie was born November 1, 1909 in Vinita to Ira and Pearl Elliott. She graduated from Vinita High School then worked for several years in Muskogee, Okla.
Marie Elliott and Walter Vogel were married April 8, 1939 in Sallisaw, Okla., and made their home in Vinita. The Vogels had owned Vogel Oil Company and Mrs. Vogel assisted in their business as bookkeeper. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Marie enjoyed traveling with her husband, created beautiful pieces of hand painted china as a hobby, and loved her work as a longtime volunteer at Craig County General Hospital.
In 1988 Mrs. Vogel made a decision to move to Tulsa, Okla., then because of her failing health, she moved to Bristow to be near her niece, Verna Dean Poe.
Survivors include: her niece, Verna Dean Poe and her husband, Wellon, of Bristow; a sister-in-law, Shirley Elliot of Kansas City, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, on September 18, 1975, her parents, a sister, Verna Mae Cozart, and a brother, Maurice Lee Elliott.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita. Pastor Keith Mackey officiated.
Services were under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home.

HOWARD LEE WALDEN
TULSA, Okla. - Howard Lee Walden, 46, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2002 in Tulsa.
Howard was born to George and Peggy Walden on July 1, 1956 in Tulsa.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Walden; one brother, Dennis Walden; and one sister, Linda Walden.
He is survived by his wife, Candace Pahsetopah, of Spavinaw, Okla.; father, George Walden; two daughters, Catherine Michelle Walden and Virginia Lou Walden; one son, Jeremiah Lee Walden; one grandson, Jeffery Ethan Tolbert; and two brothers, George Walden and Donnie Walden, all of Tulsa.
Services were held Saturday, September 9, at Moore Memory Chapel in Tulsa. Interment was at Spavinaw Cemetery, Spavinaw.

DOROTHY 'WILMAGENE' WARD
WATTS, Okla. - Dorothy "Wilmagene" Ward, 78-year-old resident of Watts, died November 14, 2002 at her home. Born December 26, 1923 in Arkansas City, Kan., she was the daughter of William Henry McGlothlin and Emily Grace Bland McGlothlin. She was a homemaker and lived all her life in the Watts community. She married Carrol Glen Ward in 1943.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen.
Survivors include: five sons, Philip Ray Ward of Twin Oaks, Okla., Larry Dean Ward, Wayne Lee Ward, Jay Earl Ward and Bryan Keith Ward, all of Watts, Okla.; three daughters, Glenna Jean Stanley and Billie Carol Rogers, both of Watts, and Linda Gail Dozier of Colcord, Okla.; three sisters, Irene Adkins of Redding, Calif., Janie Snawder of Watts, and Joyce Lindsey of Ardmore, Okla.; 17 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, November 18, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Ark., with Rev. Jim Beavers officiating. Burial followed at Bell Cemetery near West Siloam Springs, Okla. Arrangements were under the direction of the Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark.

TONYA MICHELLE WARD
GROVE - Tonya Michelle Ward, 27, died Monday, October 14, 2002 at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, after a sudden illness.
Tonya Ward was born on June 11, 1975 in Glens Falls, N.Y., to George A. and Barbara A. Crewell. She married Derrick Tyrone Ward on January 29, 2002. Tonya was a member of Cornerstone Church, Grove.
Survivors include: her husband, Derrick, Tulsa; one son, Gabriel Crewell, of the home; her mother, Barbara Crewell, Grove; her father, George Crewell, Conn.; one brother, Greg Crewell, St. Louis, Mo.; maternal grandparents, Arthur Bizner, III, Water Vliet, N.Y., and Lucretia Bisner, Chester Town, N.Y.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, October 17, at Cornerstone Church, Grove, with Pastor Bill Lay officiating. Burial will follow at Olympus Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Church, Grove, to help the family with expenses.
Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove.

MINNIE M. WARNER
COLCORD, Okla. - Minnie Margot Warner, 77 of Colcord, Okla., died July 3, 2002, at Quail Ridge Living Center, West Siloam Springs, Okla. Born March 31, 1925 in Oden, Ark., she was the daughter of John Francis Kinzey and Della May Coomer Kinzey. She moved to Oklahoma from California 10 years ago where she had been a bookkeeper for her family business, Warner's Dead Stock. She was a member of the West Siloam Springs Fire Department Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dillon Bernard Warner; a son, Elvie Morris Warner; and a sister, Pauline Adney.
Survivors include one daughter, Edith Warner of Colcord; one son, Earl J. Warner of Vinita, Okla.; one brother, John Kinzey of Broken Arrow, Okla.; one sister, Lila May Svec of Chino, Calif.; five grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 8, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Ark. Burial will follow at Johnson Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 7, at Wasson Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home.

OLIVE KY WASHBOURNE
JAY, Okla. - Olive (Punkin) Kay Washbourne, of Jay, died Sunday, March 24, 2002 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Okla. She was 79.
Olive was born June 6, 1923 to Richard (Dick) and Mary Ellen (Raper) Olive in Delaware County. She was a Dietitian and retired Food Services Supervisor for Eastern State Hospital for 20 years, starting in 1986. She loved to travel. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and sisters.
Survivors include: a sister, Mary Jane Netherton of Virginia Beach, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, graveside in the Duffield Cemetery in Jay with Reverend Larry Kingsfisher officiating.
Services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay.

GEORGE RUSSEL WATKINS
TAMPA, Fla. - George Russel Watkins, formerly of Grove, died Saturday, February 2, 2002 at Tampa, Fla. He was 95.
Mr. Watkins was born February 18, 1906 to George Robert and Druella (Gregory) Watkins at Wyona, Okla. He worked as a farmer/rancher. Mr. Watkins married Aline West on July 22, 1931 and she preceded him in death on April 27, 1993.
Survivors include: one daughter, Doris Ann Keys of Tampa; two sisters, Dorothy Anderson of Copan, Okla., and Roberta Duvall of Tulsa, Okla.; two grandchildren, Jane Keys and Dennis Keys and wife, Annette; and two great grandchildren, Nikki and Toby Keys.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove. Interment will be at the Buzzard Cemetery in Grove.
Services are under of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

LAURA MAE WATKINS
COMMERCE, Okla. - Laura Mae Watkins, of Commerce, died Thursday, May 23, 2002 at her home after a long illness. She was 82.
Mrs. Watkins was born March 9, 1919 at Timberhill, Okla., to David and Nancy (Barackman) Moss. She has lived in the Commerce area most of her life. Mrs. Watkins was a homemaker who was devoted to her husband and children.
She married Charles Watkins January 19, 1951 in Bentonville, Ark. He survives of the home. Her parents, six brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
Survivors include: her husband, Charles Watkins, of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Edith and Jack Duggan of Commerce, Sandra and Kenneth Frost of Miami, Okla., and Laura and Allan Hamilton of Miami; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Treva Duboise of Commerce, and Clarence and Sandy Duboise of Miami; 15 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Saturday, May 25, at 10 a.m. at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, west of Pyramid Corners. Remembrances were shared by her family and friends. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home in Commerce.

IRENE MAY WEBB
GROVE - Irene May Webb, 93, departed from this earth on Saturday, August 24, 2002 at Grove General Hospital.
Irene Webb was born July 21, 1909 in Kansas City, Kan., to Walter and Gladys (Briner) Wilson. She moved to Oklahoma City, Okla., where she met and married Earnie D. Webb on July 7, 1927. He preceded her in death in 1977. She taught the Primary Sunday School class for many years at Kelham Baptist Church in Oklahoma City.
The Webb family moved to Grove in January, 1951. Irene and Earnie owned and operated Webb's Sailboat Bridge Resort until retiring and moving into town in 1975. Irene was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter in Oklahoma City and Grove. She ascended the chairs in each chapter and held the office of Worthy Matron twice.
Survivors include: one daughter, Shirley Clabaugh, Grove; three grandchildren, Sherry Parks and husband, Bill, Terry Trout and wife, Christine, and Shelley Thill and husband, Tyson; six great grandchildren, Rachel and Lyndsay Parks, Alison and Kyle Trout, Nicholas and Travis Thill.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 26, at Worley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Loyd Crawford officiating. Burial followed at Olympus Cemetery.
Services were under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove.
