DORIS P. WILEY
TONGANOXIE, Kan. - Doris Pauline (Moore) Wiley, age 88, of Tonganoxie, died Tuesday, February 12, 2002 at Tonganoxie Nursing Center in Tonganoxie.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 15, at the Quisenberry Funeral Home in Tonganoxie. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 16, at the funeral home with burial in Hubbel Hill Cemetery in Tonganoxie.
Doris was born July 31, 1913 on a farm east of McLouth, the daughter of Perl and Ella (Knowlton) Moore. She was a graduate of Eureka County School and McLouth High School. She was united in marriage to Walter L. Wiley on February 12, 1933. He preceded her in death on November 19, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Charles Melvin Moore, and her sister, Rachael Matheny.
Doris worked at the North American Bomber Plant during WWII and later as a nurse at Providence Medical Center for 30 years. She was a member of the Stanwood Friends Church for more than 60 years.
Survivors include: two sons, Lyle Wayne Wiley of Grove, and Ronald L. Wiley from Brookline, Mo.; one daughter, Judith Kay Evans of Tonganoxie; one sister, Virginia Ambler of Plano, Texas; three granddaughters, Elizabeth J. Evans, Annette M. Evans, and Gwynne M. Evans; four step-grandchildren, Donna Clements, Patty Switzer, Joe Crews, and Aaron Crews; many nieces, nephews, and good friends.
The family suggests memorials to Stanwood Friends Church in care of the Quisenberry Funeral Home, Box 993, Tonganoxie, KS 66086.

BOBBIE WILLIAMS
TULSA, Okla. - Bobbie Ray Williams, local resident of Grove, died Friday, September 6, 2002 in Tulsa at the age of 67 years. She was born January 30, 1935 in Lela, Okla., to Ted and Freda Porter. She was reared and educated at Pawnee, Okla., and graduated with the Pawnee High School Class of 1953. She was married October 11, 1952 in Pawnee to Don Williams. She spent most of her working life as a clerk with Sears in the receiving department. She had been an active member in square dance clubs for over 40 years and the RV Camping Club in Bartlesville. She and Don had made their home at Grand Lake in 1994, moving from Bartlesville. Bobbie enjoyed a variety of pastimes, including crocheting, reading, and shopping for antiques. Her greatest interest was her children and grandchildren.
Loving family members include: her husband, Don, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Debbie Williams of Collinsville, Okla., and Matt and Jackie Williams of Round Rock, Texas; five grandchildren, Julie Klinetobe of Skiatook, Okla., Jeff Williams of Collinsville, Michael Williams, Nicole Williams, Bailee Williams, all of Round Rock; one great-granddaughter, Kaylee Klinetobe of Skiatook; three sisters, Brenda Hillshafer of Fort Worth, Texas, Kay McConnell of Fort Worth, and Doris Brandenburg of Tulsa; three brothers, Larry Porter of Muskogee, Okla., Curtis Porter of Buffalo, Mo., and Kenneth Porter of Pawnee; and her father, Ted Porter of Pawnee.
She was preceded in death by her mother and one sister, Deloris Lee Remy.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 10, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso, Okla., with Pastor Leonard Pirtle officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Gary Dunlap, Dennis Dunlap, Ron Roach, Kenneth Roach, Craig Williams, and Robert Caselman. Honorary casket bearers were Charlie Marshall, Floyd Webb and Jack Lewis. Committal services and interment immediately followed at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 4520 South Harvard, Tulsa, OK 74135. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso.

CLARA LUCILLE WILLIAMS
TULSA, Okla. - Clara Lucille Williams, former area resident, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2002 at Forrest Hills Nursing Home in Tulsa following an illness. She was 76-years-old.
Lucille was born December 17, 1925 in McAlester, Okla., to Wesley Washington Rhodes and Della Leola (Johnson) Rhodes. She graduated High School and moved to the Vinita area in February of 1955 from Hereford, Texas. She retired from Eastern State Hospital where she worked as an executive secretary. She was a lifetime member of the Methodist Faith.
Lucille was united in marriage to Glenn Harlan Williams on November 14, 1943. He preceded her in death on July 29, 1991. Her parents and one sister, Dorothy Edmonds, also preceded her in death.
Lucille was an avid flower and vegetable gardener and took great pride in her gardens. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Survivors include: two daughters, Beverly Lynn Manzer of Embudo, N.M., and Pamela Susan Harris of Ottawa, Kan.; two sons, Jerry Glenn Williams of Springfield, Mo., and John Stephen Williams of Tulsa; two brothers, James Rhodes of Dallas, Texas, and John Rhodes of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, February 4, at the Burckhalter Memorial Chapel. Interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Afton, Okla.
Services were under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home.

DORIS WILLIAMS
SOUTHWEST CITY, Mo. - Doris Williams, age 70, of Southwest City, Mo., died at 3:50 a.m. Sunday, June 2, 2002 at Grove General Hospital in Grove after an illness.
Mrs. Doris Williams was born on May 7, 1932 in Pineville, Mo., to Luther and Martha (Pratt) Hatfield. She had lived in Southwest City for the last 45 years. She was a member of the Southwest City Methodist Church, a 4-H leader for 20 years, a lifetime member of the FFA Alumni, and a Demolay Mom. She worked with the elderly through the Division of Aging and was active in the Southwest City community for many years. She was an Eastern Star member for more than 40 years, and was Past Matron of the Southwest City Chapter #220 OES for 18 years. She served as District Deputy Grand Matron of the 56th District for two teams. She was Grand Representative to Nebraska in Missouri and Past President of the Missouri Grand Representatives Club. She served as Grand Ruth in 1998 and was elected to Associate Grand Conductress. She progressed through the line to be the 2001-2002 Worthy Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her father, two brothers, Melvin Hatfield and Gene Hatfield, and one granddaughter, Kim Moorman.
She married Ralph E. Williams on April 21, 1957 in Southwest City.
Survivors include: her husband, Ralph Williams, of the home; three daughters, Mary McPerron of Kansas, Okla., Jenny Jones of Bella Vista, Ark., and Teresa Moorman of Sulphur Springs, Ark.; two sons, David Cooley of Buffalo, Mo., and Joe Cooley of St. Peters, Mo.; her mother, Martha Hatfield of Noel, Mo.; two sisters, Pat Hutchens of Anderson, and Darlene Mitchell of Noel; three brothers, Ed Hatfield of Noel, Jim Hatfield of Neosho, Mo., and Jack Hatfield of Anderson; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
A luncheon for family and friends was served at 12 noon on Wednesday, June 5, at the Anderson United Methodist Church provided by Fern Chapter #348 OES. The funeral service for Mrs. Doris Williams was held on Wednesday, June 5, at the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson. Reverend Bob Howard and Reverend David Williams officiated. Burial was in the Southwest City Cemetery in Southwest City.
Pallbearers were Jerry Hatfield, Bill Neumann, Kenneth Conley, Jim Bates, Don Schwartz, and Steve Crotty. Honorary pallbearers were Dual Slover, Leonard Stephenson, James Kerr, and Leonard Key.
The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Doris Williams Worthy Grand Matron Fund to be used for her charities of Cancer or Heart in care of the Ozark Funeral Home, P.O. Box 520, Anderson, MO 64831.

DOROTHY MAE WILLIAMS
PICHER, Okla. - Dorothy Mae Williams, age 79, of Picher, Okla., died Thursday, April 25, 2002 at the Baptist Regional Health Care Hospital in Miami, Okla., after a brief illness.
Mrs. Williams was born November 25, 1922 in Picher, Okla., to Roy and Ruby (Bond) Suman. She had lived in Picher most of her life, moving to Miami three weeks ago. She married Cecil W. Williams, he preceded her in death, and a brother and sister also preceded her.
Mrs. Williams was a graduate of Columbus High School and a retired LPN. She worked at Baptist Hospital in Miami, and at Baxter Memorial Hospital in Baxter Springs, Kan. She attended the Cardin Christian Church in Cardin, Okla.
Survivors include: two sons, Gary L. Williams of rural Miami, and Larry Williams of Picher; one daughter, Marsha Von Moss of Picher; one brother, Alonzo Suman of Picher; one sister, Peggy Suman of Picher; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Saturday, April 27, in the Cardin Christian Church in Cardin. Bill Richie officiated. At her request, Mrs. Williams has been cremated. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home in Miami.

EVELYN M. WILLIAMS
GROVE - Evelyn Marjorie Williams, age 77, died Tuesday, January 1, 2002 at Freeman Hospital, Joplin, Mo. Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, January 4, at Newsong Assembly with Pastor Steve Dyer officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, January 4, at Ellis Family Funeral Home, Grove.
Evelyn was born on February 16, 1924 in Hazelwood, N.C., to Canyoun M. and Thelma (Johnson) Williams. She was married to Joseph V. Yourkoski and they later divorced. Mrs. Williams worked in hospice care. Her hobbies included painting and gardening.
Survivors include: two sons, Daniel V. Yourkoski, Canton, Ohio, and Joseph A. Yourkoski, Florida; one daughter, Patricia A. Scyoc, Grand Lake; and three brothers, Johnny, Herbert and Canyoun Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Thelma Austin, Mildred Heath, and Doris Bevens.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Evergreen Academy at Newsong Assembly, Grove.
Services are entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home, 107 N. Broadway, Grove, 918-786-5172.

FLOYD F. WILLIAMS
ROGERS, Ark. - Floyd F. Williams, 82, of Rogers, Ark., formerly of Grove, died August 21, 2002. He attended John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Ark. He owned and operated an exterminating business in Masting, Neb., for many years, moving to Rogers, Ark. in 1986, where he retired as a real estate agent. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Air Corp.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Jean; a sister, Gladys Williams; and his parents, O.E. and Carrie Williams, of Grove.
Survivors include: three sons, Robert Williams of Arvada, Colo., Stephen Williams of Holdredge, Neb., and Joel Aspen of Atlanta, Ga.; three daughters, Julia Force of Altamonte Springs, Fla., and Cheryl Chitwood and Carol Mendren, both of Rogers; one sister, Dorothy Pogue of Wichita, Kan.; one nephew, Michael Pogue of Wichita; and six grandchildren.

GLADYS R. WILLIAMS
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Gladys R. Williams, 93, of Sacramento, formerly of Grove, died July 10, 2002.
A retired Special Education Reading teacher, she was a graduate of John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Ark., and taught school at Liberty, Mo., and Prairie View School in Arkansas. She later moved to California where she taught in several school districts. She owned and taught in The Learning Tree School for special reading students for many years before her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, O.E. and Carrie Williams of Grove.
She is survived by a brother, Floyd Williams, of Rogers, Ark.; a sister, Dorothy Pogue, of Wichita, Kan.; and three nephews, Robert Williams of Arvada, Colo., Steve Williams, of Holdrege, Neb. and Michael Pogue of Wichita.

LAVERNE AGNES WILLIAMS
EDMOND, Okla. - LaVerne Agnes Williams, 77-year-old former Vinita resident, passed away early Wednesday morning, September 18, 2002 at her daughter's home in Edmond, Okla.
She was born April 26, 1925 at Monroe, Okla., to Hugh A. Gregory and Ora E. (Chandler) Gregory. Mrs. Williams was a longtime valued employee of Coats Furniture Store in Vinita.
She married Oral Vernon Williams on June 1, 1948. He preceded her in death in 1985.
Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Ben White of Edmond, Okla., and Sheila and Jack Lofgren of Claremore, Okla.; a brother, Delmer Gregory of Arkansas; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
A memorial service will be held Friday, September 20, at 10 a.m. at the Highland Park Baptist Church, 400 N. Blackwelder, Edmond. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday afternoon at Timpson Chapel north-west of Vinita on Highway 60.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Timpson Chapel Cemetery Fund or Highland Park Baptist Church Childrens Ministries.
Arrangements are under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home of Vinita.

LOIS A. WILLIAMS
NEWTON, Kan. - Lois A. Williams, homemaker, died Thursday, January 10, 2002. She was 84. She was born September 7, 1917 in Harvey County, Kan., to J.W. "Ward" and Mary Ellen Reber Spangler. They preceded her in death. She was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church, Newton. Growing up she attended District 36 Grade School in rural Newton and graduated from Newton High School in 1937. On March 29, 1940 she married Gale B. Williams in Newton. He preceded her in death on August 3, 1993. She has been actively involved in Harvey County 4-H for many years. Lois enjoyed flowering violets, fishing, quilting, crocheting and spending time with friends.
Survivors include: two sons, Stan Williams of Warrensburg, Mo., and Gerald Williams of Newton; a daughter, Phyllis Hawley of Coffeyville, Kan.; a brother, Frank Spangler of Newton; a sister, Margaret White of Newton; six grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gale Williams, her parents, and a brother, Lewis Spangler.
The funeral services were Monday, January 14, at Salem United Methodist Church, Newton, with Rev. Monty L. Fey officiating. Burial was at the Greenwood Cemetery, Newton. Memorial funds may be sent to The Newton Presbyterian Manor "Good Samaritan Fund."

LUCILLE LOVE WILLIAMS
JAY, Okla. - Lucille Love Williams, age 80, passed away March 21, 2002 at Chelsea, Okla. Lucille was born at Tulsa, Okla., on March 11, 1922 to Joseph Lester McQuerry and Pearly Mae Burns. Lucille is preceded in death by her parents, and two sons, Larry and Charles Williams.
Survivors include: two sons, Tommy and Norman Williams of Jay; three daughters, Donna Black of Jay, Diane Rutherford, and Marianita Lafayette of Jay; two brothers, Jack and R.J. McQuerry; four sisters, Betty McQuerry, Anna Mae and Sonny Young, Leona and Jr. Pool, and Louise and James McCormick.
Services for Lucille were Monday, March 25, at 2 p.m. at Turner Funeral Chapel of Jay. Lucille was laid to rest at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow.
Services were under direction of Turner Funeral Chapel Jay.
