AMBER BEAMER
GROVE, Okla. - Amber Dawn Beamer of Grove went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 28, 2003, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo.
Amber was born January 17, 1987, to Clinton William Beamer and Patricia (Hilliard) Beamer in Grove. She was a Junior at Grove High School. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Grove, and she loved being involved with the youth group at the church.
Survivors include her mother Patricia Dianne Beamer of Grove; her father Clinton William Beamer of Tulsa; one sister Cara Kristen Beamer of the home; maternal grandparents John and Rita McDonald of Grove; paternal grandparents Bill and Virgie Beamer of Grove and Cherie Kretchmer of Eldridge, Ind.; and several aunts and uncles.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, October 2, at the Grove Civic Center with Dr. Wayne Shaw officiating. Interment will follow at the Hickory Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, October 1, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

HAZEL R. BECK
WICHITA, Kan.-Former Vinita resident, Hazel R. Beck, passed away at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kan., Sat. morning Feb. 15, 2003 after a short illness.
Mrs. Beck was born in Harrisonville, MO. on Sept. 24, 1913. Her parents were Orlando and Mary Wagner Phelps. At an early age she moved to the Chetopa, Kan. area with her parents. After losing her mother at the age of four, she was reared by her grandparents, John and Clara Wagner. She attended school in the Chetopa, Kan. area. In 1930, in Chetopa she became the wife of Robert Lee Smith. Later she married Thomas Beck, Jr. in 1952. He preceded her in death in Jan. 1982. After rearing her children, Mrs. Beck returned to school and became a Licensed Practical Nurse and was employed at the Eastern State Hospital until her retirement in 1976. After retirement she enjoyed reading, quilting, antiqueing, working crossword puzzles, and being with her family and friends. A fine Christian woman, Mrs. Beck was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Chetopa.
Mrs. Beck is predeceased by her parents, two infant brothers, one half brother, on half sister, husband, one son-Robert Dean Smith, two daughters-Barbara Sue Smith and Shirley Jean Hoffman, two grandsons, and one great-grandson.
She is lovingly survived by two sons, Don Smith of Independence, Kan., and Warren Smith of Florence, Kan.; two daughters, Beverly Wickham of Norman, Okla., and Vivian Remignton of Grove; thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and many other loving relatives and dear friends.
A graveside service for Mrs. Beck will be held at the Oakhill Cemetery in Chetopa, Kan., at 2:00 p.m., Tues. , Feb. 18. Reverend Clarence Newman will officiate. The body will lie in state at the Thomas Funeral Home in Welch. Condolences may be sent to the family through the funeral home.
Services are under the direction of Jim Thomas, of The Funeral Home on Welch.

ROSS LEE BENNETT
VINITA, Okla.- Ross Lee Bennett, 73 year old Vinita area resident passed away Wednesday morning, December 17, 2003 at home.
He was born September 2, 1930 to John S. and Sarah Elizabeth (Atchison) Bennett at White Oak. He worked twenty years as a delivery man for Heat Wave Heating and Plumbing Company. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War.
Ross married Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Coyne, December 28, 1957 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. She preceded him in death, July 19, 2000.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Also, preceding him in death were his parents; ten brothers and one sister.
Graveside services will be held Friday, December 19, 2003 at 2 p.m. at White Oak Cemetery with Rev. Robert Sanders officiating. Services are under the direction of Burkhalter Funeral Home.

JAMES COLLIS BENSON
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Funeral service for James Collis Benson, 31, of Grove, Okla., will be at 11 a.m., on Saturday, February 1, 2003, at the First Presbyterian Church of Norman, Okla., with Terry Lucarelli, officiating, and Dr. John McGarey and Dr. Bill Guilford, assisting.
He died Wednesday, January 29, 2003, at an Oklahoma City hospital.
Services are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
James Collis Benson was born December 25, 1971, in McAlester, Okla., to Harry James and Victoria Collis Benson. He grew up in Duncan, Okla. and graduated from Duncan Senior High School in 1990. While in high school, Jim was a three year letterman in both wrestling and football; student council president; Eagle Scout; editor of the Duncan Senior High School Newspaper, and editor-in-chief of the newspaper of Boys State. He then attended and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts in English 1994. He was a member of the President's Leadership Class of 1990 and was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, serving as the ritualist.
He was a columnist for the Oklahoma Daily Newspaper, was a recipient of the Golda M. Cooksey Creative Writing Prize and was on the Dean's Honor Roll. Continuing his education, he attended the University of Oklahoma College of Law and received his Jurisdoctor in 1997. During law school, he was on the Dean's Honor Roll; a member of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity; received the Achievement Award in Evidence; the Carl Albert Public Internship with the Attorney General of the State of Oklahoma and served as General Counsel for the University of Oklahoma Student Association.
He married Trisha Eilleene Wilbur in El Reno, Okla., on July 14, 1995, and to this union were born two daughters, Gabrael Victoria Ashton Benson and Riley Lane Ashton Benson.
Upon graduation from law school, Jim practiced law in Chickasha, Okla. and Duncan before settling in Grove, as General Counsel for Grand River Abstract and Title Company. Jim was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Duncan where he served as a deacon and committee member. He was a member of the State Bar of Oklahoma since 1997, a member of the Stephens County Bar Association, serving as president in 2001, board member of the Duncan Public Schools Foundation, volunteer for the Legal Aid of Western Oklahoma and was active in the United Way of Stephens County.
Survivors include: his wife, Trisha Eilleene Benson of Grove; two daughters, Gabrael Victoria Ashton Benson and Riley Lane Ashton Benson, both of Grove; his mother, Victoria Collis Benson of Duncan; his father, Harry James Benson of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Andrew Keith Benson of Duncan, and John Martin Benson of Oklahoma City; his grandmother, Essie Mae Benson of Norman; and many loving family members and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Dr. Keith Benson of Lawton, Okla., and his maternal grandparents, John and Vera Collis of Hinsdale, Ill.

MARCELLE (SALLY) BERTRAM
Marcelle (Sally) Bertram of Grove died , Wednesday, December 3, 2003 in Tulsa at her son's home after a short illness, She was 82.
Mrs. Bertram was born on July 11, 1921, in Riley Kansas. Survivors include one daughter Mary Ann Bertram of Houston, Texas, and one son Tom Bertram of Tulsa, Oklahoma. A memorial service wil be held at Grace Presbyterian Church of Grove, Saturday, December 6, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church.

MARY ELIZABETH "LIBBY" BICE
NORMAN, Okla. - Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Bice, age 92, of Norman passed away Monday, February 24, 2003 at Brookhaven Extensive Care Center in Norman. Libby was born in Cisco, Texas on May 22, 1910. She was the oldest of four children born to Robert Lee Lawrence and Bess (Bettis) Lawrence. Libby grew up in Anadarko, Okla. where she attended school and graduated. In 1930, she married Ed Jackson of Oklahoma City, Okla.. She later attended colleges including the Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Okla., O.B.U. in Shawnee, Okla., Central State in Edmond, Okla., and received her Master's Degree in Education from the University of Oklahoma.
Libby was an educator all of her life. She taught school at Putnam City, Anadarko, Tulsa, overseas in Germany, Japan and Jamaica. She later married William "Bill" Bice in Tulsa in 1961 and together they lived in Canada for a few years where she continued to teach. From Canada they moved to Tyler, Texas and then to both the Tulsa and the Grand Lake area. Bill passed away in 1970 and Libby continued to live in Tulsa and at Grand Lake for the next 26 years and was a member of the Fellowship of Believers Church in Langley, Okla. In 1996 she moved to the Rivermont Retirement Center in Norman to be close to her son, Larry. Libby was also a member of the A.A.R.P. and Kappa Kappa Iota. Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling on cruises and overseas, especially with her children and grandchildren. She liked to stay active by reading every day, singing and visiting with friends and family. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother or "Grandy," great grandmother, aunt and friend.
She was preceded in death by: parents, Robert Lee & Bess Lawrence; husband, William "Bill" Bice; a son, Larry Jackson; a grandson, Terrance Jackson; a great grandson, Zachery Jackson; two brothers, Robert Lee Lawrence, Jr. & J. Bettis Lawrence; and one sister, Roberta Reece Lawrence.
She is survived by: one son, Dr. William B. Jackson and wife, Donna, of Tacoma, Wash.; a stepdaughter, Elizabeth Ann Bice of Norman; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Jackson of Garden Valley, Texas; nine grandchildren, Pat, Steve, Suzanne, Greg, Julie, Chris, Scott, Deanne and Jason; and eight great grandchildren and many other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at Noble Assembly of God Church in Noble, Okla. with Rev. Jack Nester and Rev. Steve Lance officiating. Interment will be at Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary bearers will be her many friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell, Okla.

GAIL LEO BIRD
WYANDOTTE, Okla. - Gail Leo Bird was born March 6, 1923 at Moody, the son of Christie and Lizanna (Wofford) Bird and he passed from this life on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 in Oklahoma City, Okla. Gail grew up in Cherokee County and attended Chilicco Indian School. He served in the U.S. Airforce during WWII. He was married to Delma Webster July 3, 1951. Gail worked for District one until 1960. He then, worked for the Seneca Indian School and for the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe, retiring in 1998.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one brother, Thomas Leon Gourd and grandson, David Bird.
He is survived by daughter, Linda and husband, Richard Adams of Moored; two sons, James Bird and David Bird and wife, Mary Bird of Wyandotte; three sisters, Bobbie Barber and Betty Freeman of Tulsa, Okla. and Very Freeman of Tahlequah, Okla.; three brothers, Jack Bird of Whitehall, Ark., George Gourd of Tulsa and Eli Gourd Jr. of Grapevine, Texas. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Gail Leo Bird, 80, of Wyandotte will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, March 29, at Reed-Culver Funeral Home with Rev. Pat Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at the Moody Cemetery with military honors.

MARY LOUISA BLACK
Mary Louisa Black, 68 year old lifetime area resident, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2003 at the Grand Lake Villa Nursing Home in Grove following an illness.
Mary was born March 6, 1935 in Delaware County to David and Beatrice (Cook) Black. Mary was disabled for most of her life and had lived at Grand Lake Villa Nursing Home for many years. She will be deeply missed by her nursing home family.
Surviving family members include one niece, Meelee Clevenger and her husband Keith of Grove, two great nieces, Tina Heidi Fellers and Morgan Clevenger, five great nephews Brian and Ryan Clevenger, David Ruark, Wayne Ruark Jr., and Cody Fellers.
Arrangements are pending and will be announced by Turner Funeral Chapel of Grove, Oklahoma.

DONALD RAY BLANKENSHIP
Donald Ray Blankenship, 65 year old resident of West Siloam Springs, Okla. died Thursday, August 28, 2003 at Quail Ridge Living Center in West Siloam Springs, Okla. Born June 7, 1938 in Peggs, Okla., the son of Lloyd Blankenship and Hazel V. Givins Blankenship. Donald was a welder. He was preceded in death by one son, Carroll Blankenship.
Survivors include his wife of three years, Valerie of the home; two daughters, Carleen and Ivy Blankenship of Ore.; one son, Donnie Blankenship of Seattle, Wash.; his step-mother, Martha Blankenship; one stister, Doris Hernandez of Tulsa; and a step-sister and step-brother.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2003, at Kansas Cemetery, Kansas, Okla., with Philip Postoak officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark.

WILLIAM F. BLUMA
GROVE - William F. Bluma, 75, died Saturday, January 11, 2003 at Freeman Health System, Joplin, Mo. Visitations were held Monday, January 13, and Tuesday, Jan. 14, at Ellis Family Funeral Home, Grove. Private family burial will be held at Rolston Cemetery.
William Franklin Bluma was born on March 20, 1927 in Bernice, Okla. to Franklin and Ellen A. (Miller) Bloomer. He married Marjorie L. Conley. He was employed as a truck driver until his retirement. Mr. Bluma had lived in the Grove area for 11 years coming from Mountain Home, Ark. He was a member of the Grove Church of Christ and the NRA.
Survivors include: his wife, Marjorie, Grove; two daughters, Pat May, Wichita, Kan. and Sharon Stewart, Longdon, Kan.; two sisters, Mary E. Bluma, Grove and Evelyn Faye Rail, Plano, Texas; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, William Gale and Gary Bluma.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Services are entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home, 107 S. Broadway, Grove, 918-786-5172.

LAWSON "BO" BOHANNAN
Lawson "Bo" Bohannan, 86, passed from this life on June 6, 2003 at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 10 at Grand Lake Baptist Church, Grove with Rev. Larry Moore officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday at Parris Cemetery near Tahlequah. Visitation is from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, June 9 at Ellis Family Funeral Home.
He was born on May 12, 1917 near Eureka Springs, Arkansas, one of 13 children to Thomas and Sarah (Houston) Bohannan. He was a veteran of W.W.II serving in the US Army from January 20, 1941 until September 28, 1944, with the Third Division of the 30th Infantry, stationed in Africa, Sicily and Italy. He was a fireman in California Twenty-nine Palms, Santa Ana and at the Navy Ammunition Depot in Fallbrook, Calif. He was retired on a medical at the age of 42 years. During his time in California, he came to know the Lord as his Savior and served at Bonsall Community Church as Trustee, Deacon and Carpenter. After moving to Oklahoma in 1971 from Escondido, Calif, loss of hearing kept him from serving as he would have liked. He was a life member of DAV and National Assoc. of Retired Federal Employees, a former member of the VFW and a member of the Grand Lake Baptist t Church in Grove. He was married to Pauline Parris for 57 years.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline, Grove, two sons, Tommy Lee Bohannan and wife, Connie of Grove and Jerry L. and wife, Brenda of Gallatin, Tennessee; one granddaughter, Tammy Leigh Ward of Ponder, Texas; one step grandson, Jason Lindstrom of Laramie, Wyoming; one brother, Virgel Bohannan of Sun City, Calif.; four sister, Mable Craft of Costa Mesa, Calif, Goldie Ottesen and Opal House both of Mesa, Ariz. and jean Bohannan of Concord, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four bothers, Lewis, Claude, Van and Morris and three sisters, Ruth Martin, Nancy Searles and Robbie Lee Nelms.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grand Lake Baptist Church, Grove or your favorite charity.
Services are entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home.

MARGIE GAIL WRIGHT BOILS
KANSAS, Okla. - Margie Gail Wright Boils, 47, of Kansas, Okla., died December 21, 2003, at the Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. Born June 15, 1956 in Green County, Ky., she was the daughter of Charles Wright and Lucy Kemp Wright. She was a missionary and homemaker. She lived in Kentucky prior to moving to Kansas two years ago. Margie was a member of the Galilean Church of Kansas. She married James Ralph Boils on July 1, 1988.
Survivors include her husband, Bro. James Ralph Boils of the home; one daughter, Joy Lyn Boils; one son, James R. Boils, Jr., both of the home; two step-daughters, Lisa K. Click and Teresa Morgan, both of Campbellsville, Ky.; her father, Charles Wright of Green County, Ky.; two brothers, Donnie Wright and Billy Wright of Greensburg, Ky.; two half sisters, Gert Yocum of Vine Grove, Ky., and Virginia Garrett of Louisville, Ky.; five step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 24 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home of Greensburg, Ky. Burial will follow at the Maple Hill Cemetery of Greensburg. Bro. James R. Boils, Bro. Leighton Reed, and Bro. Phillip Trent will be officiating. Local arrangements are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark.
