MARY HAZEL BORST
MIAMI, Okla. - Mary Hazel Borst, 89, of Miami, Okla. died Saturday, March 22, 2003 at Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami, after an illness.
Mrs. Borst was born August 29, 1913 in Burbank, Calif. to Thomas (Duke) Jeff and Mary Anne (Parr) Watson. She has lived in Miami since 1997, moving here from Laguna Hills, Calif.
Mrs. Borst worked as a legal secretary and attended the First Christian Church in Coachella, Calif.
Survivors include one sister, Dorothy Moore, of Miami; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A son Steven Borst, daughter Patricia Ann Evans, sister Nellie Rowe and three brothers preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 27, in the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home, Miami. Leon Weece will officiate. Burial will be in the G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, under the direction of the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home

WATHENA C. BOUDREAUX
MIAMI, Okla. - Wathena C. Boudreaux, Miami resident, died at the home of her niece on Tuesday, April 15, 2003, after an illness. She was 78. Mrs. Boudreaux was born August 7, 1924 at Baxter Springs, Kan. to E.S. and Lilia Webb Cunningham. She was a homemaker. She married Jean L.C. (Tony) Boudreaux at Cheyenne, Wyo. on December 8, 1944. He preceded her on June 26, 1980. She had lived in Houma, La. for the past 56 years, before moving to Miami last fall. She is survived by a nephew, Warren Chism of Broken Arrow, Okla. and four nieces, Janice Mayfield, Cheryl Carman and Cindy Clark, all of Miami, and Ramona Pyle of Carthage, Mo.
She was preceded by two sisters, Olive Stett and Sharron Chism. A funeral service was held at 9 a.m., Tuesday, April 22, at Chauvins Funeral Home in Houma. Burial followed at St. Francis de Sales #2 Cemetery in Houma.
Local arrangements provided by Adcock Funeral Home in Afton.

CHARLOTTE FRANCES DODD BOX
JAY, Okla. - Charlotte Frances Dodd Box, 81, left this earth on April 23, 2003. Charlotte was born to Mr. and Mrs., Charles Greer on March 19, 1922, in Lincoln Neb. She was a wife, mother and homemaker all her life.,
She is survived by two sons, Jerry Roy Dodd of Skiatook, Okla. and James Edward Dodd of Sapulpa, Okla., one daughter, Linda Kay Cearley of Jay, Okla.
Charlotte lay in state at the Turner Funeral Chapel in Jay and graveside services were held Monday, April 28, at Maysville Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Turner Funeral Chapel.

John H. Bradbury
John H. Bradbury, 73, formerly of Mound Valley, passed away Friday evening at the Sequoyah Pointe Nursing Center in Owasso, Okla.
He was born December 6, 1929, in Mound Valley to John R. and Shirley (Humphrey) Bradbury. He grew up around Mound Valley and Had a Ford Dealer Partnership there until 1958. He moved to Boulder, Colo. where he was a manager of a Kentucky Fried Chicken and then to Denver where he worked as a cook in Denver school. He then moved back to Grove, Okla. in 1987. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Mound Valley.
Survivors are: one sister, Johnava and husband Vern Miller, Tulsa; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, June 25, at 10 a.m. at the Mound Valley Cemetery in Mound Valley with family members, Eddie and Michelle Mann officiating. Friends may call at the Bath Funeral Home of Altamont from 9 a.m. Tuesday, where family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the Mound Valley United Methodist Church and may be left or mailed to the funeral home at Box 325, Altamont, Kan. 67330.

HOWE ELLIS BRADSHAW
JAY, Okla. - Howe Ellis Bradshaw, 91, died Tues., Feb. 18, 2003 at Integris Grove General Hospital.
Ellis Bradshaw was born Feb. 14, 1912 in McGregor, Texas to Luit and Nettie (Lee) Bradshaw. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy. He married Margaret Alberta Hoffmeister in Carson City, Nev. on July 12, 1974. She preceded him in death on Oct. 26, 1989. He worked as an auto mechanic for 36 years. Mr. Bradshaw moved to Jay in 2001 from Katy, Texas and lived with Mary and John Talley and their children John, Jr., Joshua and Carlee. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Katy.
Survivors include one sister Doris Jean Friemuth, Rock Hampton, Queensland, Australia; one sister-in-law Bobby Bradshaw, Katy; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret, three sisters and three brothers.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m., Thurs., Feb. 20, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Sat., Feb. 22, at Comanche Springs Cemetery, McGregor, Texas under the direction of Cole Funeral Home, McGregor.

VERLE DALE BRANTLEY
JOPLIN, Mo. - Verle Dale Brantley, 67, passed away March 18, 2003 at St. John's Hospital, Joplin. Dale was born October 12, 1935 at Eucha, Okla., to Charles and Gladys Allen Brantley. Dale attended school at the old Eucha and one year of high school. He served in the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Army and the Army Reserves. He was a lifetime member of the VFW at Rosewood, Calif.
Dale was a carpenter and retired in the Carpenter's Union. He was known to his friends as "Digger."
Dale loved to fish, NASCAR racing and baseball.
Dale is survived by his wife, Janice of Neosho, Mo.; numerous children and siblings.
Memorial services will be Saturday, March 22, at 1 p.m. at the Old Eucha Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Turner Funeral Chapel, Jay.

GLADYS JUNE BREWER
Gladys June Brewer, 65, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 6 at Butler Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Butler Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove.

OPAL C. BREWER
COLCORD , Okla. - Opal C. Brewer, 84, of Colcord, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2003 at the Northwest Medical Center. Opal was born on July 8, 1918, in Salina, Okla. the daughter of Franklin Park, and Euphma Elmore Park. She married Johnnie Brewer on November 14, 1932 in Eldon, Okla. She was self employed most of her life, along with her husband as a farmer. Opal was of Pentecostal faith and was a member of the Mountain View Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Oleva Brewer, Twin Oaks, Okla.; one brother, Johnny Park of Tahlequah, Okla.; one sister Frankie Lucretia Marshall of Sand Springs, Okla.; two grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Johnnie Brewer, two brothers, Ernest Park, and Sherman Park, three sisters, Nellie Briggs, Gladys Park and Belle Brewer.
Services for Mrs. Brewer are scheduled for Thursday, April 17, at 10 a.m. at the Backstorm-Pyeatte Funeral Home Chapel in Siloam Springs with Rev. E.W. Hanvey III and Rev. Herman Miller officiating. Burial will be at the Kansas Cemetery in Kan., Okla. under the direction of Backstorm-Pyeatte Funeral Home.

CLEO BRIXEY

JAY, Okla. - Cleo Brixey, 75 met his Lord June 6, 2003 at St. John's Medical Ct, Joplin, Mo. Born April 11, 1928 to Toy and Effie Stewart Brixey at Tahlequah, Okla. Graduated Tahlequah High School. Cleo married Maggie Nichols, May 18, 1951 together with this union came Rex and Sandi. Cleo worked as a self-employed painter and retired in 1990. Cleo was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jay. He was preceded in death by his parents Toy and Effie, 2 sister, 1 brother, 4 half sister, and 1 step sister.
He is survived by his wife Maggie of the home, one son Rex Brixey and wife Karen, 1 daughter Sandi Price and husband Brad, 4 grandchildren Meagan and Levi Price, Kristina and Nathan Brixey, all of Jay and one sister Jessie Ross of Merced, Calif.
Services will be Monday, June 9 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Jay. Cleo will be laid to rest at Duffield Cemetery, Jay. Services under direction of Turner Funeral Chapel, Jay, Okla.

CHARLEY BROCK, JR.
GROVE - Charley Brock, Jr., age 69, of Grove, died Monday, January 20, 2003, at Raulerson Hospital in Okeechobee, Fla. Mr. Brock was born August 3, 1933 in Crop Orchard, Ky., the son of Charley Brock, Sr. and Nora Wilmont Brock. He was a heavy equipment engineer by trade and a member of the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Grove.
Survivors include: his devoted wife of 34 years, Lillian Zales Brock, of Grove; three stepsons, Vincent and wife, Beverly Deguc of Beaverton, Ore., David Deguc of South Bend, Ind., and Christopher and wife, Ann Deguc of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; eight step grandchildren; one brother, Nathaniel and wife, Judy Brock of Somerset, Ky.; and two sisters, Ann Francis Denney of Lancaster, Ky., and Bonnie and husband, Lohris Lee of Lawrenceburg, Ky.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Bruxton Funeral Home and Crematory.

MARJORIE E. BROCK
FAIRLAND, Okla. - Marjorie E. Brock, 87, of Fairland, passed away at 6:45 a.m., Monday, February 24, 2003, after an illness. Mrs. Brock was born 9, 1915, in Miami, Okla., to Grover C. and Bessie Oddie Nash England. She had worked as a cook for Afton Memorial Hospital. She married J.H. Pete Brock on May 23, 1931. He preceded her in death on April 21, 1979. She was a life-time area resident and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Afton.
She is survived by her son Johnnie L. Brock, and his wife, Sherry of Bluejacket; a daughter Fayrene Morgan, and her husband, Arthur of Afton; a sister-in-law Elores England, of Miami; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 26, at Adcock Funeral Home Chapel in Afton, with Rev. Leon Landrum officiating. Pallbearers will be Roy Frost, Richard Vineyard, Bob Severs, Doug Klaus, Paul Ayres, and Richard Ayres. Burial will be in Sixkiller Cemetery, south of Afton, under the direction of Adcock Funeral Home, Afton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday evening.

STELLA MAE HANNA BROKAW
GROVE - Stella Brokaw, 84, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 25, 2003, at Grand Lake Villa in Grove.
Stella Mae Hanna Brokaw was born on December 8, 1918 at Coody's Bluff Army Camp near Nowata, Okla., to Oscar "Bud" and Myrtle Ellen (Ring) Hanna. She married Alfred Aaron Brokaw on August 4, 1936, in McDonald County, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1980. She was a cook, waitress and manager of Bells Cafe in Afton, Okla., for 20 years. Mrs. Brokaw was a charter member of Midway Missionary Baptist Church, Fairland, Okla. She spent most of her life in Delaware and Ottawa Counties, Okla.
Survivors include: one daughter, Faye Taffner and husband, Everett, Fairland; one half-sister, Bertha Hooper and husband, John, Redmond, Ore.; four grandchildren, Bernardine Vanderlip and husband, Mike, Fayettteville, Ark., Merl Taffner, Elkins, Ark., Chris Taffner and wife, Anita, Wheeler, Ark., and Eugene Taffner, Forum, Ark. Also surviving are 11 great-grandchildren, four step-great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, four nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one daughter, Doris Ann Brokaw, on February 10, 1997.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 29, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mitch Elmer and Rev. A.J. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Rolston Cemetery, Monkey Island. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., on Tuesday, January 28, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Midway Missionary Baptist Church, Fairland. Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove.

ELSIE FAY BROOKS
WATTS, OKLA. - Elsie Fay Brooks, 88 of Watts, died January 15, 2003, at Quail Ridge Living Center. Born October 29, 1914 in Olive Okla. She was the daughter of William Weaver and Mamie Astoria Spencer Weaver. She attended the Business College in Tulsa for two years. After business college, she worked at Roy's Pawn Shop until 1948 when she went to work for First National Bank of Tulsa where she was a teller. In 1954 she married John Waldo Brooks. In 1978 she retired and moved to Siloam Springs, Ark. where she was employed by Smith Furniture.
She was preceded in death by: her husband; two brothers, Virgil Weaver and Barney Weaver; one sister-in-law, Lorraine Brooks; and one brother-in-law, Gerald Brooks. Survivors include: one daughter, Penny Roller and husband, Raymond, of Watts; one step-son, David Brooks and wife, Jean, of Sacramento, Calif.; one step-daughter, Shelia Brooks of Ukiah, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Quay Weaver, of Tulsa, Okla. and Pauline Weaver of Turpin, Okla.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, January 20, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, with Pastor Howie Moss officiating. A private interment will be held at National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, January 19, at Wasson Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.
