WILLIAM “BILL” NIX, JR.
JAY–William “Bill” Nix, Jr., 50 year old Jay, Oklahoma resident passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at the Betty Ann Nursing Center in Grove, following an extended illness.
Bill was born September 29, 1952 in Vinita, Oklahoma to William A. “Bill” Nix and Joan (Ross) Nix. He graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School. Following graduation he moved back to Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma State University, graduating with a degree in Engineering. He then attended Arkansas University where he graduated with a degree in Surveying. Bill was a self employed Civil Engineer/Surveyor.
He was preceded in death by his father, William A. Nix, Sr. on June 10, 2001.
Surviving family members include his mother, Joan (Ross) Nix of San Antonio, TX, two daughters, Katie Joan Nix and Sara Lynn Nix both of Grove, OK, two sisters, Lynn Meyer of Denver, CO, Judy Osborne and husband Don of West HIlls, CA, and one brother, Joe Frank Nix and wife Jodel of San Antonio, TX.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 4, 2003 at the Spavinaw/Strang Cemetery.
Viewing/Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to America’s Second Harvest, in care of the Funeral Home.
Services are under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home.

NETTIE MAXINE NOE
ROSE, Okla. - Funeral services for Nettie Maxine Noe, 85, of Rose, were held Monday, March 10, 2003 in the Key Funeral Home Chapel in Locust Grove, Okla. with Pastor Jim Noe officiating. Burial followed in the Oaks Cemetery in Oaks, Okla.
Mrs. Noe was born Nov. 8, 1917 in Adair, Okla. to John and Dora Mae (Mitchell) Wolfe, and died March 8, 2003 in Catoosa, Okla.
She grew up and attended school at Oaks Mission School. She was married to Joe Lee Noe Sept. 9, 1935 in Oaks. She had lived most of her life in the Twin Oaks area and loved to sew, crochet, quilt and raise her flower garden.
She was of the Methodist Faith.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1999, as did a son, William and daughter, Dora, two brothers, four sisters, and two grandchildren.
Survivors include four sons, Joe Noe, and his wife, Barbara, of Wagoner, Okla., Carl Noe, and his wife, Sue, of Oklahoma City, Tom Noe, and his wife, Lola, of Sapulpa, and Walter Noe of Tiawah, Okla.; two daughters, Kathryn Pedersen, and her husband, Chris, of Claremore, and Carol Powers, and her husband, Gary, of Tulsa; three sisters, Hattie Adams, Anna Pierce and Dolly Lampkins, all of Tulsa; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

ELIZABETH ANN LODES-NOLEN
Elizabeth Ann Lodes-Nolen was born March 5, 1921 in Vinita, Okla. to Peter and Elizabeth A. Alig-Lodes and then received her independence from this world on July 4, 2003. She was raised in the Vinita area attending the Ironside school district and then graduating from St. Joseph Academy in Oklahoma City. Elizabeth knew from an early age she was going to be a nurse and graduated from St. Johns Nursing School in Tulsa. She married Donald E. Nolen after graduation on August 7, 1943. After WW II was over they made their home in the Vinita area. She worked as a nurse in Dr. Lanes office, at the old Craig General Hospital and retired from Eastern State Hospital after 27 years.
Elizabeth was a member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Church where she was an Eucharistic minister, served in the Ladies Altar Society, and taught Catechism classes. Elizabeth loved to travel and went to many places in the world. She especially enjoyed the many pilgrimages she went on. Family was very important to her and she loved all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and seven brothers.
She is survived by and most lovingly missed by her husband Donald E. Nolen of the home, four daughters; Donna Beth Riddel and husband Robin of Wichita, Kan., Alice Vivian Nolen-Walston of Grafton, Mass., Mary Nolen-Rattray of San Diego, Cal., Theresa Louise Wadley and husband Don of Afton, Okla., two sons; Donald Joseph Nolen and wife Patty of Hartville, Mo., James Edward and wife Debra of Coolin, Id., twenty-six grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, one sister; Marie Lodes of Tulsa, Okla., one brother, Paul Lodes of Vinita, Okla., sister-in-laws Kunigunda and Pauline Lodes both of Vinita, Okla., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass was held at 10:00 a.m., Tues., July 8 at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Father Kenneth King officiated. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be grandson's; Christian Allen, Jesse Rhodes, David Riddel, John Riddel, James Riddel, Matthew Riddel and Joshua Kulp.
Rosary was held at 7 p.m., Mon., July 7 at the Burckhalter Funeral Home.
Services are under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home.

ROBERT (BOB) PAUL NORTHCUTT
GROVE - Robert Paul Northcutt, 76, died Friday, April 4, 2003 at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo. Bob Northcutt was born in Pittsburg, Kan. on June 1, 1926 to Paul Penn and Faye (Allen) Northcutt. He married Margaret Maas on August 25, 1951. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II. Mr. Northcutt worked as an insurance salesman for Allstate Insurance for 31 years. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Grove, VFW, American Legion, Moose Lodge, American Modelers Association, Eucharistic Minister for the Catholic Church, and the Board of Directors of Delaware County Friendship Home. He spent 20 years helping with the Boys Scouts by teaching lifesaving and as a Scout Leader. His hobbies included photography, computers and module airplanes. Mr. Northcutt coached Little league in Wichita for 10 years. He was active with his World War II Reunions. He had lived in Grove since 1986 moving from Wichita, where he lived for 45 years.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Northcutt of Grove; seven children Susan Northcutt of Jay, Janet Costello and husband, Steve of Denver, Colo., Carolyn Robinson and husband, Rick of Siloam Springs, Ark., Jim Northcutt and wife, Jana, Charles Northcutt and wife, Dea, Libby Jolivet and husband, Roy, and Dave Northcutt and wife, Melanie, all of Wichita. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral mass was held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 7, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with Father Alex Kennedy officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m., Tuesday, April 8 in Calgary Cemetery, Witchita. A Rosary was held at 7 p.m., Sunday, April 6 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Delaware County Friendship Home, Jay, Okla. Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove.

JAMES JUNIOR NUCKOLLS
Services for Junior Nuckolls will be 1 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2003 at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Claremore where he has been a member the past 8 years. Rev. Loyd Crawford of Cleora, OK, a long time friend and Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Claremore under direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service and Crematory. Visitation will be Thursday 1 until 8 p.m.
James Junior Nuckolls, age 83, of Claremore passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2003, at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Junior was born August 4, 1920, in Grove, Ok., to Jim and Zelma LaFon Nuckolls. He graduated from Grove High School in 1937 and served his country in the Army in World War II. In 1940 he married Ina Pritchard of Grove and to this union two daughters were born, Pamela and Phyllis. His wife Ina precedes him in death. Junior married Florene Harless of Grove in 1970 and to this union a daughter, Cathy, was born.
Junior worked many years in the hardware and grocery business in Grove. He always had a smile and friendly greeting for everyone he came in contact with. He was a long time member of the First Baptist Church in Grove serving the Lord faithfully in many areas in the church. He served as church treasurer for 30 years, taught Sunday school, cooked for the Men's Brotherhood, and drove the elderly people to do their errands. Junior was a faithful, loving and kindhearted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and doing his yardwork.
Family members surviving are his wife of 33 years, Florene, of the home; daughters, Phyllis and husband Bill Snyder and their children Bill and Susan, and Cathy and husband John Smith, and their children Chase and Nicholas, all of Claremore; brother Bill and wife Jane Ann Duffield of Grove, OK; sisters Barbara Carter of Claremore and Connie Baker of Cassville, MO; and many nephews and nieces.
In addition to his wife Ina, he is preceded in death by his daughter Pam Nuckolls, and his brother Jack.

DORIS VIRGINIA OAKLEY
AFTON, Okla. - Doris Virginia Oakley, 80, of Afton died Monday, February 3, 2003 at her home after an illness.
Mrs. Oakley was born January 27, 1923 in Afton to Clinton and Cecia (Van Winkle) Stacy, she has lived in Afton all her life. She married Nolon Phillip Oakley , December 15, 1954 in Columbus, Kan.; he preceded her in death on January 1, 1998. A brother, Charles Stacy and sister, Gladys Stacy, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Oakley was a homemaker and charter member of the Afton First Assembly of God; she started attending when she was 13 years old.
She is survived by four sons, Phil and wife, Cathy, Stacy and wife, Kathy, David Oakley, and James Oakley all of Afton; one daughter, Reta and husband, Phillip Shamblin of Bluejacket, Okla.; one sister, Billie Sue Edwards, of Miami, Okla.; five grandsons, three granddaughters and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. February 5, 2003 in the Afton First Assembly of God. Rev. Wendell Brown and Clarence Wheatley will officiate. Burial will be in the Sixkiller Cemetery, south of Afton, under the direction of the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home of Afton.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m., Tuesday evening at the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home Afton
Pallbearers will be Lea Ann Bryant, Wayne Oakley, Craig Oakley, Darrell Shamblin, Benjie Oakley, Clinton Oakley, Tonya King and Lacie Oakley.

DORIS A. ORR
AFTON - Doris A. Orr, Afton resident, died at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Mon., Dec. 15, 2003, after a lengthy illness. She was 50.
She was born Nov. 28, 1953, at Newark, N.J., to Charles and Christine Brandenburg. She had worked as a counselor before becoming disabled. She was employed by the Phoenix Hospital in Pheonix, Ariz.
She moved to the Afton area in 1998, coming from Phoenix. She was a Catholic. She married David McDonald in 1978. He survives of the home. She is also survived by two sons; Christopher Daniel Orr and Dustin Charles McDonald, both of Phoenix; and three grandchildren. No services are planned. The body has been cremated. Arrangements provided by Adcock Funeral Home of Afton.

ANNA LEE OWEN
GROVE, Okla. - Anna Lee Owen, 88, died Thursday, May 15, 2003 at Integris Grove General Hospital.
Anna Lee was born on January 16, 1915 in the Carr Community to Newt and Addie (Carr) Turner. She was married to Leland "Sunshine" Owen. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Owen worked as a drug store clerk during her lifetime. She was a life-time resident of Grove.
Survivors include two nephews, Jerrell Browning of Grove and Jim Turner of Fairland; three nieces, Mattie Wiese of Jay, Londee Erick and Mary Lou Bryant, both of California. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Kenny Owen who died in May, 2001; one brother, Aaron Turner and two sisters, Bessie Hampton Anderson and Susie Browning.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 19, at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove. Burial followed at Olympus Cemetery in Grove. Rev. Kenneth Cope officiated.

CHESTER V. OWENS
SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. - Chester V. Owens, 87-year-old resident of Siloam Springs, died June 1, 2003 at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. Born August 25, 1915 in Vernon, Texas, he was the son of William Harrison Owens and Maude Bishop Owens. He lived most of his life in Siloam Springs and was a self-employed truck driver. He married Laura Frailey 45 years ago and was a member of God's Lighthouse Church in West Siloam Springs, Okla.
Survivors include his wife, Laura of the home; five sons, Kenneth Wayne Owens of Lakewood, Calif., Donald Ray Owens of W. Siloam Springs, Okla., Ronnie Derrell Owens, James Dwyte Owens, and Vernon Owens, all of Siloam Springs; two daughters, Martha Carolyn Smith of Lakewood and Sherron Kay Lewis of Porterville, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 5, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, with Pastor Steve Paden officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Siloam Springs. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs. Arrangements are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home.

DONALD RAY OWENS, SR.
WEST SILOAM SPRINGS, Okla. - Donald Ray Owens, Sr., 64 years old, died December 20, 2003, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. Born June 2, 1939, in Frog Level, Ark.,the son of Chester Owens and Ola Murray-Owens. He lived in the area for 35 years, moving here from California. He was a delivery driver for Roper Gas Company. He was a member of God's Lighthouse Church, West Siloam Springs, Okla.
On July 9, 1960, he married Elaine Kathleen Spodnick. Donald was preceded in death by one son, Donald Ray Owens, Jr. and one daughter, Wendy Mae Owens.
Survivors include Elaine Owens of the home; a son, Tim Owens and wife Cindy of Colcord, Okla.; stepmother, Laura Owens of Siloam Springs, Ark.; two granddaughters, Misty McGloughlin of Colcord, Okla., and Mandi January of Kansas, Okla.; four brothers, Kenneth Owens of California, Ronnie Owens of Siloam Springs, Ark., J.D. Owens of Gentry, Ark., and Vernon Owens of West Siloam Springs, Okla.; two sisters, Carolyn Smith and Sharon Lewis both of California; two great granddaughters and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 23, 2003, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Ark., with Rev. Horton MacDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Siloam Springs, Ark. Arrangements are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark.

JEFFERY W. PAIR
COLCORD, Okla.- Jeffery W. Pair, 44 died Tuesday, January 14, 2003, at his residence after a lengthy illness. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, January 17, at Delaware Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Kansas Cemetery, Kansas, Okla. Family will greet friends from 6 to 7 p.m., Thursday, January 16, at Ellis Family Funeral Home, Grove.
Jeffery Wayne Pair was born on December 3, 1958 to Jake and Joyce (Blake) Pair. He was married to Sally Maples. Mr. Pair was a farmer. He was a past employee of the City of Grove and of Peterson Farms.
Survivors include: his wife, Sally, Colcord; two sons, Jared Jeffrey and wife, Kelli, Bartlesville, Okla. and Charles Trim, Kansas, Okla.; two daughters, Stacie Renee, Grove, Okla. and Tommie Nichole, Kansas; one sister, Anita Johnson and husband, David, Chickasha, Okla.; three grandchildren Bailey Michelle, Grove, Mikalle and Kelton, both of Bartlesville; his parents, Jake and Joyce Pair, Grove; grandmother, Sally King, Grove; parents-in-law, Tom and Joyce Maples, Kansas; two nieces, Amanda and Alyssa; and a host of relatives and friends.
Services are entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home, 107 S, Broadway, Grove.
