AGNES E. PARKS
GROVE - Agnes E. Parks, 93, died Thursday, January 2, 2003 at Grove General Hospital. Graveside services will take place at Ethel Reece Cemetery, Barnsdall, Okla. at 2:30 p.m., Thurs., January 9 with Rev. M. L. Teel officiating.
Agnes E. Parks was born on June 15, 1909 in Collinsville, Okla. to Earnest and Doris (Miles) Alley. She worked as a sales clerk during her lifetime. Mrs. Parks had lived in the Grove, Okla. area for five years coming from Bartlesville, Okla. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Barnsdall and a member of the Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include: one nephew, Jim Allred and wife, Janet, Grove; one great nephew, Shawn L. Allred and wife, Lisa, Grove; one great niece, Jamie Burton and husband, Dee, Bartlesville; one great great nephew, Easton Allred, Grove. She was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands, Clarence Ragland, William Oard and Virgil Parks; one brother, Kenneth Alley; and one sister, Juanita.
Services are entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home, 107 S. Broadway, Grove, OK, 74344, 918-786-5172.

LYNDSEY JOYCE PARKS
GROVE - Lyndsey Joyce Parks 17, of Grove, joined her Lord February 3, 2003, after a fatal car accident claimed her life.
Lyndsey was born February 13, 1985 to Forrest and Joyce Parks in Tulsa Okla. She was a Senior at the Ozark Adventist Academy in Gentry, Ark. Her grandmother preceded her in death.
Survivors include: her mother, Joyce Parks of Grove; her father, Forrest Parks, of Springdale, Ark.; her sister, Katie Parks of the home; her grandfather, Ray Harper of Grove; and a host of relatives and friends.
Lyndsey was a member of the gymnastics and basketball teams.
Services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, February 6, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Gentry, under the direction of the Turner Funeral Home. Rev. James Rainwater will officiate.

NORMAN FRED PARKS
TULSA - Norman Fred Parks, 92 of Tulsa, Okla., died Sunday, December 14, 2003, after an illness at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Okla.
Mr.. Parks was born March 3, 1911 in Afton, Okla. to John J. and Beula Maud (Smith) Parks. He married Ester Viola Spurlock on October 5, 1936, in Tulsa. She survives of the home. He was Superintendent for McMichaels Construction Co. working in Tulsa for forty years. Mr. Parks served his country in the Air Force during World War II. He gave his heart to the Lord on Easter Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Afton, Okla.
Other survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Dale Gene and Jane Parks of Marina Del Ray, Calif., one grandson, John Norman Parks of Marina Del Ray, Calif., one granddaughter, Jaclyn Ann Parks of Marina Del Ray, Calif., and one sister, Lesta Mae Parks, of Tulsa.
Funeral services will be held at 22:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2003, at the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home, Afton. Rev. Chuck Price will officiate. His nephews will serve as pallbearers. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Afton. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home, Afton.

CINDY PARSONS
GROVE, Okla. - Cindy Parsons, age 44, was born on September 30, 1958 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She lived in Rose Hill, Iowa. She graduated from Oskaloosa schools in 1977.
Cindy married Bill Foust Jr. on November 18, 1977 and to them was born three children, Jackie Lee Foust, William Henry "Hank" Foust III, and Adam James Foust. They later divorced and she married Mike Parsons on February 14, 2002. She moved to Grove in 1981 with her family. She worked many years at the Grove General Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Parsons; a daughter, Jackie Foust and husband, Dewayne Baxter of Grove; two sons, William "Hank" Foust and fiancé, Randi Burke of Grove and Adam Foust and Chasity Baker of Grove; three step daughters, Vanessa Parsons, Melissa Parsons, and Patricia Porter; two grandsons, Payton Lee Foust and Mason Reed Baxter; a step granddaughter, Brook Lynn Porter; her parents, Joe and Betty Rauch of Jay, Okla.; a sister, Linda Delayardelle and husband, Charlie of Iowa; a stepsister, Jo Ellen VanPollen; a stepbrother, Joseph Scott Rauch and wife, Mary Jo; a niece, Becky Rauch; several aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Lee Lewis, a stepbrother, Carl Rauch, and grandparents Parke & Elise Lewis and Lorna Kliegle.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, in the Bible Baptist Church. There will be a visitation at the funeral home at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

FRANKLIN "WAYNE" PARSONS
COLCORD, Okla. - Franklin "Wayne" Parsons, 60-year-old resident of Colcord, died February 20, 2003, at Washington Regional Hospital, Fayetteville, Ark. Born February 18, 1943 in Harford, Ark., he was the son of Benjamin Franklin Parsons and Dorothy Burns Parsons. Wayne gaduated from Farmington High School Class of 1961. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War serving 17 years on diesel and nuclear subs as an ET and RO. He attended the University of Arkansas and receive his bachelor's degree in education from Southern Illinois University. He retired from civil service as a nuclear and electrical control systems instructor at Bremerton Naval Shipyard.
Wayne was an accomplished auto-cross racer and taught ballroom and country western dancing. His memberships included the Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge, Fraternal Order of Eagles, VFW and American Legion. He married Artha DuRell Hardy in Reno, Nev., July 11, 1993.
He is survived by his wife Artha "D", of the home; one son Michael Wayne Parsons, of Claremore, Okla.; three daughters Sheri Lynne Dulak, of Temecula, Calif., Charlotte Elaine Hall of Tallahassee, Fla. and Michelle Leigh Duncan of Port Orchard, Wash.; four step-sons William Leroy Crumbliss of Lexington, Ore., James Edward Crumbliss of Goose Creek, S.C., Richard Lovel Crumbliss of Oak Grove, Ky. and Clint McKay Smith of Buffalo, N.Y.; one step-daughter Teresa Lynn Obenauf, of Mineral, Wash.; stepmother Bethel Parsons, of Muskogee, Okla.; step-father Troy Repass of Fayetteville, Ark.; 24 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister Kathryn Ann Colasacco, of Springdale, Ark.; five brothers Troy Dale Repass of Farmington, Ark., James Phillip Repass of Lake City, Fla.; Steven Dale Parsons of Calif.; Benjamin Randolph Parsons of Tahlequah, Okla.; Christopher Lynn Parsons of Springale, Ark. and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 24, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in Siliam Springs, Ark., with Mr. Deloyd Dodd officiating. Burial will follow at Cox Cemetery, near Lincoln, Ark. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, February 23, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark. Arrangements are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siliam Springs, Ark.

ANNIE REBECCA PARTAIN
JAY, Okla. - Annie Rebecca Partain, 88-year-old resident of Jay, died Jan. 11, 2003 in Jay. She was born October 2, 1914 in Rockford, Ky. to King Golden and Ida Bays Golden. Mrs. Partain was affiliated with the Holiness Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and making quilts. She married Iva Partain on April 12, 1933 in Hinton, Okla. She was preceded in death by her husband and two children, Harvey Joe Partain and Betty Louise Greer.
She is survived by: one daughter, Dovie Wilson, of Jay; four sons, Don Partain of Gravette, Ark., Jesse Partain of Chouteau, Okla., Johnny and Dean Partain, both of Colcord, Okla.; two sisters, Roxie Nancy of Geary, Okla.; Hazel Lamb of Portersville, Calif.; one brother, Bill Golden also of Geary; two half sisters, Mary Whitby and Cornellia Cutler both, of Geary; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 14, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Ark. with Pastor Larry Kingfisher officiating. Burial will follow at Bell Cemetery, near West Siloam Springs, Okla. Arrangements are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home Siloam Springs.

REBECCA ISABELL (COOK) PATRICK
CLEORA, Okla. - Rebecca Isabell (Cook) Patrick, 89 year-old Cleora resident, died Tuesday, February 11, 2003, at the Grove Nursing Center, in Grove, Okla. She was born July 14, 1913, in Cleora to James Issac Cook and Dessie Lee (Adcox) Cook. Isabell graduated from Cleora High School in 1933. She was married to Haskell Patrick on January 30, 1934; he preceded her in death on March 31, 1974.
Isabell was a member of the Cleora Methodist Church and Grand Lake Home Makers Club. Isabell was an Election Precinct Judge, a homemaker and loving mother.
The family includes three children, Patti Schoech and husband, Buddy, of Vinita, Bill Patrick, of Cleora, and James F. Patrick and wife, Charlotte, of Zena, Okla.; four grandchildren, James D. Patrick, of Edmond, Okla., Charlene Leubecker of Aldie, Va., Norbert C. "Beau" Schoech and Bradley P. Schoech, of Vinita; two great-grandchildren Michael Patrick and Nicholas Patrick Leubecker; one sister Mrs. Dorothy Collins, of Vinita; and numerous, nieces and nephews.
Six brothers, two sisters and her parents preceded her in death.
She will lie in state at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita until 9 p.m., Friday, February 14. A private family service will be held on Saturday, February 15. Arrangements are by the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.

LEROY PATTISON
Services for Chelsea rancher, Leroy Pattison, will be 11:00 a.m., Sat., Dec. 6th, 2003, at First Baptist Church, Chelsea. Burial will follow at Chelsea Cemetery under the direction of Rice Funeral Service. Friends may visit at the funeral home until 8:00 this evening. Leroy passed away Wed., Dec. 3rd, 2003. He was 73.
Born in Nowata County on May 19th, 1930, to Walter and Irene Bailey Pattison, Leroy attended school in Chelsea following a move to Craig County. He graduated from Chelsea High School in 1948. Leroy's education as a rancher, however, didn't come from the books that he studied in school. He first worked in the hay field at the young age of 5, beginning a relationship with his beloved land that would span all 73 years of his life.
On Aug. 26th, 1950, Leroy and Ruby "Maxine" Copeland married at Chelsea. Their romance began on the long rides home from high school on the bus. Their union was blessed with two daughters, to whom Leroy was devoted. Finding rural Chelsea to be the idea location for raising a family, Leroy and Maxine made this their home throughout the years.
In addition to his dairying and ranching, Leroy was also a skilled carpenter. The home, as well as all of the outbuildings on Leroy's land, were products of his hard work. Always willing to lend a helping hand, Leroy's expertise was put to use on the homes of many of his Chelsea friends. Taking care of his property was a joy for Leroy and his hobbies were maintaining and improving his land. He actively worked his ranch as long as he was able.
Family was of vital importance to Leroy, and his grandchildren and great grandchildren were a delight to their "Papa." He also lovingly cared for his mother and aunt.
Leroy is survived by his wife, Maxine, of their home in Chelsea; his daughters, Vera Yirsa and her husband, Blaine, of Grove and Lela Young and her husband, Roy, of Chelsea; his mother, Irene Pattison, also of Chelsea; his brothers, Robert Pattison and his wife, Ruby, of Norcross, Georgia and Homer Pattison and his wife, Alma, of Crowley, Colorado; grandchildren, Matthu Young of Vian, Stephanie Prusa and her husband, Jeff, of Kansas City, Mark Young and his wife, Laura, of Chelsea, and Alison and Cynthia Yirsa, of Grove; great granddaughters, Morgan Sowersby and Amarah Young; three sisters-in-law, Daisy Nelson, Edna Moore and Betty Dick and her husband, Ray; and brother-in-law Gene Copeland and his wife, Leona. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
It is the request of Leroy's family that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name be made to either First Baptist Church 413 Beech, Chelsea, 74016, or Chelsea Public Schools, 206 E. 4th, Chelsea, 74016.

HAROLD PAUL
GROVE, Okla. - Harold Paul, 86, of Grove, died at 10:10 a.m., Tuesday , February 4, 2003 at Grove Nursing Center. Harold was born February 17,1916 in Granby, Mo., to Thomas R. and Rose Mae Howerton Paul. He was an over-the-road truck driver for Roadway Express for 43 years and then drove for Longan Construction Co. of Grove until his retirement. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Grove, where he served as a deacon. He was a member of Teamsters #823.
He married Marion Pate. She died in 1989 after 43 years of marriage. Also preceding him in death is a brother Melvin Paul, and three sisters Nora Buford, Waneta Paul and Veda Lyman. Harold is survived by a daughterSandy Golden and her husband Doug, of Joplin; two brothers Marvin Paul of Chicago Park, Calif. and Lester Paul of Hutchinson, Kan.; and two grandchildren.
Mr. Paul has been cremated. No services are scheduled. Arrangements are under the direction of Thornhill-Dillion Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.

GENEVA PENDERGRAFT
JAY, Okla. - Vyra Geneva Pendergraft of Jay died Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at the Grove Nursing Center. She was 91. Geneva was born June 18, 1911 to James Alva and Ira Mae Sturges in Delaware County. She attended school in Strang, Okla. and in Jay. She married Lemmie Earl Pendergraft November 12, 1930 at Ordway, Colo. Together they had the second largest bean farm in Colorado. She worked very hard on the farm while taking care of her family. They moved to Jay from Colorado in 1955. She then worked various jobs at Guinn Nursing Home, Grove General Hospital, Vinita Eastern State Hospital, operated a Day Care out of her home, owned and operated the Main Street Cafe in Jay. She was a member of the Jay Bible Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lemme and one infant son, Lemme David along with two sisters, and two brothers.
She is survived by two sons, James R. Pendergraft of Jay, and Ronald S. Pendergraft of Disney, Okla.; two daughters, Ira Sue Mikkelsen of Gunnison, Colo., and Judy E. Hutchison of Jay; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Frank Sturges of Santa Maria, Calif.; two sisters, Jessie Burgess of Loleta, Calif.; and Geraldine Silva of San Luis Obispo, Calif.
Services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, April 5, at the First Assembly of God Church in Jay with Rev. Chester Crittendon officiating. Interment will follow at the Mose Ridge Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay.

ALPHA BELLE PHIFER
Alpha Belle Phifer of Kansas, Okla. died Friday, June 6, 2003 at her home. She was 56 years of age.
Born August 1, 1946 to Clifford and Nellie (Wilkinson) Anderson at Grainola, Okla. She married John Phifer October 30, 1962 at Newkirk, Okla. She was a homemaker and has lived in the area for 41 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two children: Mitchell Ray Furguson and Marsha Kaye Furguson.
Survivors include six children: Jeff Phifer of Kansas, Okla., Troy Phifer of Jay, Lisa Phifer of Kansas, Bobby Phifer of Leach, Debbie Guthrie of Flint Ridge, Ark., and Annie Ward of Kansas. One sister, Barbara Evans and one brother, Bill Anderson both of Kansas. Sixteen grandchildren.
Services were 2 p.m. Monday, June 9 at the Lowry Free Will Baptist Church in Kansas with Rev. Sam Anderson officiating and Rev. Rogers assisting. Burial followed at the Kansas Cemetery. Services were under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay.

LEONARD B. PHILLIPS
Leonard Phillips, 91, of Altamont and longtime Parsons resident, died Friday, October 10, 2003 at the Elmhaven East Nursing Home in Parsons. He had been in failing health.
He was born December 1, 1911, in Parsons, Kans. to Ralph E. and Reba Labette County Schools graduating in 1930. He attended the Dague Business University at Wichita.
He was employed at the post office in Skiatook, Okla.. and in Humboldt, Kans. before he was employed by the Parsons post Office. He retired from his postal career on October 31, 1969.
He was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church of Parsons where he had served as a Sunday School Teacher, choir member and on various committees. For several years he was chairman of the finance committee and was a lay speaker in the church.
He loved the outdoors and was an ardent fisherman. For 17 years the Phillips maintained a home in Grove, Okla. on Grand Lake. He bowled many years and long held the office of secretary/treasurer of the Commercial Bowling League.
On August 21, 1932 he married Lydia May Blevins. The moved to Altamont in 1991 and recently observed their 71st wedding anniversary.
Survivors include, his wife Lydia of the home; two sons, Benny Phillips and wife Shirley of Joplin, Mo. and Allen Phillips and wife Elaine of Altamont, Kans.; three daughters, Sharon Limes of Olathe, Kans., Charlotte Houck and her husband Larry of Wichita, Kans., and Anita Hibbs and her husband John of Altamont; eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; one brother, Dale Phillips and wife Irene of Dennis, Kans, and three sisters, Ester Journot of Parsons, Kans., Gertrude McKinney and husband Ed of Dennis, Kans., and Leona Cruse of Parsons.
Preceding him in death was a two year old son, Barry Phillips, an infant sister, and a sister, Mildred Sperry.
Funeral services were held today in Parsons, Kans. Memorials are suggested to the Faith United Methodist Church.
