ELLEN MARIE STILLEY
Ellen Marie Stilley, 44, went to her heavenly reward on Sept. 30, 2003, after a five month battle for her life, which she fought graciously and courageously.
Ellen, was born on Oct. 19, 1958 in Los Angeles, Calif. to William and Darlene Holand Monk. She lived many places and made friends everywhere.
Ellen is survived by her mother, her husband Phillip of the home, her best friend and soul mate, Sheila Barnes, three sons, Raymond and Phillip Stilley, of Wyandotte. Robert Karch, of Grove. Three daughters, Brandy Grejeda and Niki McGaugh of Riverside, Calif., and Louann Karch of Aurora, Mo. , four brothers, Ricky Dydzyk, of Brandon, Ore., Ronnie Dydzyk, Grants Pass, Ore., Danny Dydzyk of Apple Valley, Calif., and Dale Monk of Apple Valley, one sister, Kathy Miller of Des Moines, Iowa, 14 grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
Ellen is preceded in death by her father and step-father, and a daughter Renee Stilley.
Ellen, lived her life to the fullest, she believed you should learn something new every day, she wanted every one to be happy and smile, even resorting to pinching them to get them to laugh. Her favorite saying was "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." Ellen, loved to fish, go garage sailing, flea marketing, life in general, she sewed, and arranged flowers. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be loved forever, missed tremendously, and never forgotten.
Service will be on Oct. 4 at 1 p.m. at Turner funeral Chapel, in Grove. The family will be present at visitation, on Oct. 3 from 6 till 8 p.m. at Turner Chapel in Grove.

CARLIE A. STODDARD
ZENA, Okla. - Carlie A. Stoddard, 51, died Wednesday, April 9, 2003 at her home.
Carlie Stoddard was born on September 22, 1951 in Petoskey, Mich. to Albert John and Nancy Katherine (Maria) Walters. She married Randal C. Stoddard on June 1, 1990. She moved to the area in June, 2000 from Loveland, Colo. Mrs. Stoddard worked as a Federal Express Courier.
Survivors include her husband, Randy in Zena; one daughter, Rayven Stoddard in Jay; one sister, Diane Duvall in Florida. She was preceded in death by her sister, Judy Stewart.
No services are planned at this time.
Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove.

CALVIN (CAL) STRANDLUND
JOPLIN, Mo. - Calvin Strandlund passed away March 1, 2003, at Freeman Hospital after an illness. He was born March 4, 1928, in San Diego, Calif.
He is survived by a daughter, Vickie Wilson of Redondo Beach, Calif.; a son, Brad Strandlund of Huntington Beach, Calif.; a sister, Marilyn Strandlund; and a niece, Gail Dummer of Fresno, Calif.
Cal raced stock cars and midget cars in the 1940s and 1950s. He was a jeweler and plater for 27 years.
He will be missed by his family and friends.

BONNIE JEAN SWICEGOOD
Bonnie Jean Swicegood, 67-year-old resident of Colcord, Okla., died September 2, 2003 at her home. Born April 6, 1936, in Gravette, Ark., she was the daughter of Jake Engleman and Vera Shell Engleman. She grew up in Gravette. Bonnie married Brice Swicegood in 1951 and moved to Colcord where she lived most of her life. She was a retired line worker from Franklin Electric and a member of Colcord Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by one brother, J.D. Engleman of Gravette.
Survivors include her husband, Brice, of the home, four sons, Leon Swicegood and his wife, Angela, of Farmington, Ark., Rick Swicegood and his wife, Diana, of Jay, Okla., Doyle Swicegood and his wife, Angie, and David Swicegood and his wife, Terri, all of Colcord; 17 grandchildren; one great grandson; four brothers, Bob Engleman of Gentry, Ark., Bill Engleman of Siloam Springs, Jim Engleman of Centerton, and Danny Engleman of Bentonville; six sisters, Patsy Martin of Van Buren, Ark., Joan Schippers of Rogers, Ark., Dixie Engleman of Deltona Florida, Sue Bryant of Rogers, Ark., Jackie Maudlein of Webb city, Missouri, and Debbie Baker of Springdale, Ark.
Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2003, at the Colcord Church of Christ, Colcord, Okla., with Mr. Larry Ellis officiating. Burial followed at Row Cemetery, Colcord. Visitation was from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 4, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

HOUSTON SUMMERFIELD
Jay, Okla. - Houston Summerfield 84 died Sunday, October 5, 2003 at Monroe Manor in Jay.
Houston was born October 6 1918 in Delaware County, Okla. to Mr. and Mrs. Jess Summerfield, Sr. He married Jennie Beamer in the spring of 1948 in Delaware County. Okla. He was retired from the O'Briens Chicken Plant production line. Houston was a lifetime resident of Delaware County and was a member of the Piney Baptist Church.
Houston is survived by grandchildren Leanne Long of Maysville, Ark.; Louise Creekkiller of Eucha Okla. and Diane Warren of Jay, Okla.; great grandchild Delbert Jones, and brother Drake Summerfield. He was preceded in death by his wife Jennie.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Jumper Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home.
Services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay.

GLADYS MARIE TACKETT
Gladys Marie Tackett, 84, died Monday, July 7, 2003 at Grove Nursing Center.
Gladys was born on January 9, 1919 in Arrow Rock, Mo. to Henry and Agnes Fritz. She married James Aubrey Tackett on April 6, 1941 in Boonville, Mo. he preceded her in death on May 17, 1998. Mrs. Tackett worked for a short time as a secretary at Kemper Military School. She and Mr. Tackett moved to Grove from Overland Park, Kan. She was a former member of Sailboat Bridge Association.
Survivors include two children, Terry l. Tackett of Olathe, Kan. and Alice Rush of Ellinwood, Kan., four grandchildren, Rebecca Dyro, Suzanne Tackett, Wayne Rush and Kathy Rush, two great grandchildren, Parker and Kennedi Dryo.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 9 at Olympus Cemetery with Rev. Sam Carper officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice in care of the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove.

BUCK TANNER
JAY, Okla. - Buck Tanner, 76, died Friday, March 28, 2003 in the Monroe Manor Nursing Home. The son of Sam and Lula Mae (Peak) Tanner, he was born on July 26, 1926 in Eucha, Okla. He lived all his life in Delaware County, Okla. Buck was a member of the Roundsprings Baptist Church. His parents, his first wife, Mary Jane, two sons Sammy Tanner and Jimmy Tanner and a stepson, Roy Carpenter, preceded him in death.
Surviving are Buck and Mary Jane's children; his wife, Nellie Tanner of Jay; children, Levi Tanner of Jay, Bobby Tanner of Oregon, Alan Tanner of Jay, Eli Tanner of Jay, James Tanner of Jay, Betty Wohlford of Bartlesville, Okla., Melissa Tanner of Eucha, Mary L. Hamilton of Eucha, David Tanner of Eucha; stepchildren, Petty Turner of Miami, Okla., Wanda Jackson of Jay, Ann Tanner of Whitewater and Don Carpenter of Grove, Okla.; 35 grand- and 17great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, in the Roundsprings Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Roundsprings Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay.

WILLIAM "BILL" TAYLOR
GROVE, Okla. - William Newman Taylor, 75, died Sunday, May 11, 2003 at Integris Grove General Hospital.
Bill Taylor was born on July 22, 1927 in Kingman, Kan. to Bedford and Jeanne (Lehrling) Taylor. He married Jose Anna Dick on December 4, 1976 in Rancho Cordova, Calif. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Construction Battalion. Mr. Taylor owned and operated Taylor Service Center and Car Wash in Grove. He was a charter member of the Grove Moose Lodge and also a charter member of the Grove Elks Lodge as well as a 32nd Degree Mason. He had lived in Grove since 1965, moving from Wichita, Kan.
Survivors include one daughter, Renee Porter of Stephens Point, Wis.; three stepchildren, Kenneth Jo Stilley of Woodbridge, Va., Suzanne Spence of Tulsa and David Stilley of Broken Arrow; one brother, Gary Taylor of Grove; two grandsons, Brandon and Ryan Porter.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, at Hickory Grove Cemetery with Rev. Ray Melugin officiating. Veterans rites will be conducted by the Grove Veterans Ritual Team.
Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove.

ALVIN NORBERT TEAGUE
Alvin Teague, age 77, went to be with the Lord on Monday Sept. 29, 2003 in his home at Jay. The son of Alvin and Beula (Rardin) Teague, he was born on March 24, 1926 in Grove.
After serving in the US Navy in WWII he went to work for the G.R.D.A. for several years and then he went into business as an abstracter until retirement. He still went to the office every day to visit with friends. He was a member of the Faith Mission Church. His parents and one sister Alfreda Hayes preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife of 45 years, Bertha Teague in Jay; one son Rabbit Teague in Jay; two daughters, Julie Roberts and husband Bob Roberts of Jay and Jennifer Donahue of Grove. Four grandchildren, April Collins, Amber Vanorstall, James Icenogle, and Kartney Teague. Three special friends Cody and Brook Neal and Wanda Davis, two girls he helped raise Ronda Hughes and Julie Hutchinson.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3 in the Assembly of God Church in Jay. The burial will be in the Olympus Cemetery in grove. The services are under the directions of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay.

MARVIN VANCE TENBROOK
SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. - Marvin Vance Tenbrook, 86 year-old resident of Gentry, Ark., died January 4, 2003, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. Born February 6, 1916 in Delaware County, Okla., near Maysville, Ark., he was the son of the late George Earl Tenbrook and Alta Vivian West Tenbrook. He was a graduate of Gentry High School 1937, and attended G.I. schooling on the job for four years. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a field artillery gunner for over five years. He worked as a breakman for the Union Pacific Railroad in Oregon and was an assistant to the engineering division for Boeing Aircraft Co. in Wichita, Kan. for 30 years, before he retired in November of 1982. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Gentry. He was a charter member of American Legion Post of Londagan and Hardcastle Gentry, and a member of VFW post, Siloam Springs. He had a lifetime membership with the Wheat State Morgan Horse Association of Wichita. He was a Morgan Horse breeder in Kansas and Arkansas for several years. He was preceded in death by one sister, Anna Belle Brandom.
Survivors include: three brothers, John F. Tenbrook of Gentry, Jack O. Tenbrook of Rolla, Kan., Dallas B. Tenbrook of Wichita; one sister, Ruth Audean Beck of Canute, Okla.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 6. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 7, at First Baptist Church, Gentry, with Rev. Ben Rowell officiating. Burial will follow at Joe Ward Cemetery in Delaware County, near Maysville. Arrangements are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

CLARENCE W. TEWKSBURY
GROVE, Okla. - Clarence W. Tewksbury died Sunday, April 27, 2003, at Integris Grove General Hospital in Grove. He was 81.
Mr. Tewskbury was born April 9, 1922 to Clarence W. Tewksbury and Elva (Rickards) Tewksbury at Chicago, Ill. Clarence was employed by Sun Electric Corp. in Crystal Lake, Ill. for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and married Betty Johnson in 1947 in Chicago. They moved to Grove in 1996 from Crystal Lake. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Grove.
Surviving are his loving wife of 56 years, Betty of Grove; six children, David Tewksbury and his wife, Debbie of Mesa, Ariz., Jim Tewksbury and his wife, Lynda of Glenview, Ill., Dick Tewksbury and his wife, Brenda of Allen, Texas, Becky Hance of Crystal Lake, Pete Tewksbury and his wife, Sharon of Dayton, Texas, and Julie Natzel and her husband, Ted of Rolling Meadows, Ill; one sister, Elva Brown of Villa Park, Ill.; eight grandchildren, David, Tricia, Ashley, Austin, Tony, Cari, Corinne, and Rick; two great-grandchildren, Alliyah and Samantha, and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be Thursday, May 1, at 11 a.m. at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Dick Weaver officiating. Interment will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 5, at Windridge Cemetery in Cary, Ill. Family will receive friends at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 30, at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

ETHEL DELORES THOMPSON
STILLWATER, Okla. - Ethel Delores Thompson, 74, of Perry, Okla., died unexpectedly at 9:15 p.m., Monday, March 24, 2003, at Stillwater Medical Center.
The daughter of Ernest John and Hilda Dorthea (Buchholz) Kemnitz, she was born February 28, 1929, in Perry.
Ethel and Jack Thompson were married May 24, 1947 in Wellington, Kan. She was a homemaker who loved her family and spoiled her children and grandchildren.
She was an avid bowler and Chicago Cubs baseball fan. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and traveling.
Ethel was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Unit 5 of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, the Perry Women's Bowling Association and the Cherokee Strip Historical Society.
Survivors include her husband, Jack of the home; four sons, Gary Thompson and his wife, John Ann of Grove, Okla., Randy Thompson of Perry, Mike Thompson and his wife, Denise of Enid, Okla., and Brad Thompson of Perry; one daughter, Peggy Haxton and her husband, John of Perry; one brother, E.J. Kemnitz Jr. of Omaha, Neb.; one sister, Rosie Kemnitz of Perry; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild-to-be.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, March 27, 2003 at Christ Lutheran Church in Perry. Rev. William Metz will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery at Perry under direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home.
