ALLIE WALKER
PETALUMA, Calif. - Allie Elizabeth Walker, 72, of Petaluma, formerly of Southwest City, Mo., died Saturday, May 3, 2003 at 3:50 a.m. in Petaluma after an illness.
Allie Elizabeth Short was born February 4, 1931 in Tahlequah, Okla., the loving and devoted daughter of Vernie Ross and Oma Evelyn (Wilson) Short. She married Kelly Gene Walker on June 12, 1948 in Hooker, Okla. They made their home near Southwest City, Mo. Early in their marriage they spent several years traveling around the country working on a pipeline. She was a devoted mother who raised her children to meet no stranger, to be strong willed, to be independent and to be persistent in fulfilling their dreams in life. Allie loved life and she loved living life to its fullest. She was a brilliant, creative cook who lived to entertain her family and close friends. Allie was a natural, creative gardener who could pinch off a twig on a plant along her path of life and it would grow to produce a strong, healthy plant. She loved flowers and everyone around her marveled at her breathtaking flower creations. Allie was a 35-year survivor of cancer. When her health started failing, she resided in Sonoma County Calif. the last 10 years with her daughters Patty Sigala and Linda Walker Sinyard. Allie was a devoted Christian and a member of the Eastside Freewill Baptist Church in Petaluma where she was president of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was very active in fund raising for the church and for missionaries.
She is survived by one son, Ronnie Walker of Southwest City; two daughters, Patty Sigala of Petaluma and Linda Sinyard of Cloverdale, Calif.; five grandchildren, Brian Gene Walker of Anderson, Mo., Kelly Gene Walker of St. Louis, Mo., Monica Mack of Petaluma, Shane Hudson of Smithville, Okla., and Missy Zarco of Cloverdale; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lee Roy Short of Garden Grove, Calif., Robert Dean Short of rural Southwest City, and Lonnie Joe Short of Gadsden, Ala.; four sisters, Elsie Virginia Ketchum of Quartzite, Ariz., Wanda Sue Tallman of Medford, Ore., Linda Kay Cobberly of Grandview, Idaho and Evelyn Marie Shipley of Eldersburg, Md.
She was preceded in death by Kelly Gene Walker in 1978; her parents; two sisters, Helen Frances Skaggs and Juanita Mae Waldrop; three brothers, Kenneth Edward Short, Donald Ross Short and Troy Wayne Short.
Graveside services for Allie Walker will be held on Saturday, May 10, at 2 p.m., at the Southwest City Cemetery in Southwest City. Rev. Mark Short will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Martin Sigala, Ronnie Walker, Brian Walker, Shane Hudson, Sammy Skaggs, Jim Linton, Jim Frye and Shawn Maynor.
Visitation will be held from noon until 8 p.m. on Friday, May 9, at the Ozark Funeral Home in Southwest City. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements provided by Ozark Funeral Homes, Inc., Southwest City.

BETTY JEAN WALKER
TULSA, Okla. - Betty Jean Walker, 75-year-old lifetime Vinita resident passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2003 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.
Betty was born December 26, 1927 in Vinita, Okla. to Green Christian and Lulabell (Fitzgerald) Christian. She was a retired housekeeper and nurse's aid.
Surviving family members include: one daughter, Brenda Lou Walker of the home; one niece, Shirley Walker of Vinita; and a cousin, George Copeland of Vinita.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Linda Sue Walker and one sister, Lou Ann Epperson.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 178, at the Burckhalter Funeral Home. Bill Webster will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, May 16 at the home of Mary Jo Cole, 147 S. Foreman, Vinita.
Services are under the direction of the Burckhalter Funeral Home, Vinita.

JUANITA J. WALTON
Juanita J. Walton, age 93, died October 10, 2003 in Grove, Okla. Juanita was born on January 4, 1910 in Eugene, Ore. and was preceded in death by her husband Glenn Walton and her son John Walton.
She is survived by her son Roger J. Walton and wife Beth of Grove, Okla.; a granddaughter Diana Spurgeon and husband Jim of Norman, Okla.; and a grandson Cliff Walton and wife Amanda Walton of Ochelata, Okla. Juanita has six great grandchildren, T. Raven Walton, Kourtney Spurgeon, Savannah Walton, Kayla Spurgeon, Jessica J. Walton, and Mason Walton.
There will be a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 13, 2003, at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Winfield, Kans. The services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Okla.

NELLIE VAILL WARE
GROVE, Okla. - Nellie Vaill Ware, Afton, Okla. resident, died at Betty Ann Nursing Center in Grove on Monday, June 16, 2003 after an illness. She was 82. She was born September 30, 1920, at Kansas City, Mo. to Charles and Pearl Dodgeon Vaill. During WWII, she worked as a laundromat attendant at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. She married Elton Leonard Ware in 1936. he preceded her in death in 1987. She moved to Afton in November 1987, coming from Stockton, Calif. She was a member of Wayside Bible Church in Bernice, and the American Legion Auxiliary, Post #178. She is survived by a daughter, Emma Christner of the home; a brother, Clarence Bond of Afton; two sisters, Carol Garrett and Thelma Epperson, both of Joplin; seven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren. The body has been cremated. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 22, at Wayside Bible Church in Bernice, with Rev. Gene Jones officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Adcock Funeral Home, Afton.

VIOLA WATERMELON
JAY, Okla. - Viola Watermelon, 88, died Friday, April 25, 2003 at Integris Grove General Hospital.
Viola (Turner) Watermelon was born on June 16, 1914 in Jay, to Daniel Turner and Sally O'Field Turner. She was a homemaker and a life-long resident of Jay. Viola married Lee Watermelon on October 24, 1972 and he preceded her in death in 1984.
Viola is survived by children: Edna Sultzer of Jay, Ruth Pickup of Salina, Okla., and Clifford Loftis of Spavinaw, Okla; her adopted granddaughter, Melvina King, ,who she raised as her own; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, McKey Turner of Jay; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Bennie Turner, David Turner, Leroy Turner and J.D. Turner, and sister Fannie Turner.
Viola was a remarkable and lovable lady and will be greatly missed.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 30, at Worley-Luginbuel Chapel in Jay. Burial will follow at Indianola Cemetery. Visitation will be at 6 p.m., Tuesday, April 29, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Jay.
Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay.

BUEL ALFRED WATKINS
PRYOR, Okla. - Buel Aflred Watkins, 99, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 21, 2003.
Buel was born January 9, 1904 in Tryon, Oklahoma, Payne County (Indian Territory to William Anderson Watkins and Ann Margaret (Hoover) Watkins, one of 10 children of which two girls lived only for a few months.
He married Lucille Ruby Green on July 3, 1927 in Stillwater, Okla. They moved to Pryor in 1933 with their two sons. Together they had several businesses in Pryor other than farming and dairy farming. They started the first pasteurizing dairy plant in Pryor, the Creamline Dairy. Together they operated the Cattleman's Restaurant for many years. Al drove the Pryor school bus in 1942 until 1960 and knew every kid in school by name. One of his greatest joys in life was when his sons were playing football for Pryor High School. He enjoyed fishing and pheasant hunting each year with Lucille, his wife of 52 years. She preceded him in death on August 20, 1979. After her death he fished, hunted and played golf with his friends, sons and grandsons. He truly loved golf and played until six years ago. The family teased him about how he loved to fish and hunt but never cleaned a fish or a pheasant. He was a deacon in the First Baptist Church since 1968.
A Memorial Service was held at 1 p.m., Monday, February 24, in the Shipman's Jim Green Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jerry Ross officiating. Private graveside rites will be held at Tryon, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of the Shipman's Jim Green Funeral Home.
Al is survived by one son Jerry G. and wife, LaVerne Watkins, of Pryor; four grandsons Pastor Rick and wife, Anita Watkins of Adelaide, Australia, Ron and wife, Carol Watkins of Newark, Delaware, Randy and wife, Kimberly Watkins of Huntington Beach, Calif. and Barney Buel Watkins Jr. of Pryor; three great-grandsons; five great-granddaughters; and one great-grandson-in-law. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille in 1979; one son Barney Buel Watkins, Sr., in 1983; one daughter-in-law Laura Watkins Hagerman, in 2000; Corinne Watkins in 2001, wife of 20 years; nine sisters and brothers.

HASKELL FRANKLIN WATKINS
Commerce, Okla. - Haskell Franklin Watkins, 86, of Commerce, Okla., died on Sunday, November 30, 2003 at the Baptist Regional Health center after an illness.
Mr. Watkins was born on April 14, 1917 in Ravia, Okla., to Sam and Sara (Johnson) Watkins, he has lived in Commerce, Okla. for two years moving here from Ardmore, Okla. He was a self-employed handyman and was of the Holiness faith.
Survivors include six sons, Rick Watkins of Pryor, Okla., Dan Watkins of Vinita, Okla., Billy Watkins of OKC, Okla., Larry Watkins of Lexington, Okla., James Watkins of Wiggins, Miss., and Jody Watkins. Survivors also include six daughters, Betty Anderson of Pryor, Okla., Shirley Lee of Ardmore, Okla., Brenda Tucker of Vinita, Okla., Donna Watkins of Muskogee, Okla., Margete Cash of Little Rock, Ark., and Ruby Rowe of San Antonio, TX. Mr. Watkins is also survived by two brothers John Watkins of Healdton, Okla. and Connie Watkins of Ardmore, Okla.
Twenty-two grandchildren and thirty-one great grandchildren also survive.
His parents , four brothers and two sisters precede Mr. Watkins in death.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2003 in the G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, Okla. under the directions of Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home, Commerce, Okla.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 Monday evening at the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home in Commerce, Okla.

AUSTIN E. WEGLEY
GROVE - Austin E. Wegley, 63, died Wednesday, January 22, 2003 at his home in Grove. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, February 1, at his residence, with military rites by the Grove Veterans Ritual Team.
Austin Earl Wegley was born on March 14, 1939 in Wichita, Kan. to Maurice and Winnie (Burton) Wegley. He married Elizabeth "Liz" M. Foster on December 29, 1958. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. Mr. Wegley worked as an Oregon State Correction Officer. He was a member and ordained deacon of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Albany, Ore. He was very dedicated to the church. He moved to Grove in September, 2002 from Corvallis, Ore.
Survivors include: his wife, Elizabeth Wegley, of Grove; one daughter, Laura Kay Riley Mendon, of Michigan; two sons, Allen Earl Wegley, Prineville, Ore. and Austin Eric Wegley of Grove; two sisters, Nellie Jane Johnson of Redding Calif. and Winnie Lucille Cross of Winnemucca, Nev.; two grandchildren, Christina Marie Riley and Robert Eugene Riley. He was preceded in death by one sister, Maurine Inez Wegley.
Services are entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home, 107 S. Broadway, Grove.

EDWIN NATHALE "DOOGIE" WELCH
TULSA, Okla. - Edwin Nathale "Doogie" Welch, 83, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She was born on September 25, 1919 at Grove, Okla., the daughter of Edwin Bentley Hunt and Edythe (Stover) Hunt. She married Bud J. Welch on August 16, 1942 in Tahlequah, Okla. They spent most of their lives in Pryor, Okla. Doogie owned the Creative Beauty Salon. She worked as a court reporter for Mayes County for many years. In later years she and her husband owned and operated Welch Bonding Service. Doogie was a proud lifetime member of the Democratic Party. She was also of Cherokee heritage and a member of the Cherokee Nation. Doogie was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Pryor for more than 45 years. Doogie will be remembered for many things, but most of all her joy of life and living. She loved music and dancing. Doogie loved the outdoors, especially the cabin at Tag Hollow and her time fishing there. She will be remembered for her love of people, of laughter and her joy of life.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, June 2, in the Presbyterian Church of Pryor with Rev. Melinda Foster officiating. Interment followed in the Butler Cemetery in Grove, with Dr. Bob Weitzel officiating. Casketbearers were Joel Graham (grandson) and Brad Wagoner (grandson), Forrest Graham, Mike Massey, Bill Riley Hudson (her nephew) and John Berry.
Arrangements provided by Shipman's Jim Green Funeral Home of Pryor.
She is survived by four daughters, Diane and husband, Jim Wagoner, of Tulsa, Buddie and husband, Jack Massey of Grand Lake Town, Okla., Sevilla Vance of Poteau, Okla. and Carolyn Wigington of Denver, Colo.; one sister, Genevieve Louise Wyman of Fayetteville, Ark.; one brother-in-law, James D. Welch and wife, Betty of Grove; three grandchildren, Brad Wagoner, Nathale Holden and Joel Graham; three great-grandchildren, Paige Wagoner, Reece and Cayce Holden.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, John Cravens Hunt, Riley Q. Hunt and William Hunt; and one sister, Mirene Venne.

SHONDA RENA WEBB
Shonda Rena Webb 32-year-old resident of Colcord, Oklahoma, died June 11, 2003 at her residence after a long illness.
Born August 29, 1970 in Gravette, Arkansas, she was the daughter of James Webb. She lived most of her life in Colcord and Gentry area. Survivors include her father James Webb and Mary McKinley, of Colcord; one sister Carlena Sue Webb; one brother, Jesse Callahan of Watts, Oklahoma; one uncle Terry Webb, of Colcord; two-step-grandparents, Vicy and Cecil Fletcher of Watts, Oklahoma; one step-mother, Dolly Callahan of Watts; one best friend, Donita McKinley of Colcord; and various aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Saturday June, 14, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark. A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. on Monday June 16, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, with Bill Sanders officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

CHUB D. "C.D" WEST
Grove - Chub D. "C.D." West, 60, died Saturday, December 6, 2003, at his residence in Grove.
Chub West was born on December 26, 1942, in San Jose, California to Henry Lee and Alice (Greer) West. he married Betty Blassingame in Antiock, Calif. in 1970. she preceded him in death on august 6, 1988. he worked for Ford Motor Company as head of the paint and body department for twenty-five years. He worked for Dink West and at Honey Creek Body Shop for twelve years. He owned C&D Detail. Chub was a member of Independent Baptist Church in Grove. He enjoyed car clubs and enjoyed renovating old classic cars. He loved off-roading with his 4x4s and spending time with his grandchildren. He had lived in Grove since 1983 moving from Milpitis, Calif.
Survivors include his mother, Alice West, of Grove; one daughter Brandi Walter and husband, Matt, of Grove; one stepson, Kevin Bywater of Centerton, Ark.; six sisters, Ruth Fields of Prinston, NC, Lenora Flowers of Eufala, Charlotte Stogsdill of Grove, Almeda Stuart of Paris, TX. Pauline Davis of Grove, and Dixie Beehler of Miami; three brothers, Rex West of Eagle Point, Ore., Dink West of Grove, and Kelly West of Grove; three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo, his father, Henry Lee, one sister, Ruby Hardy and one brother Cotton West.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 9, 2003, at Independent Baptist Church with Rev. Dolphus Blevins officiating. burial will follow at Butler Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday.
Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove.
