JUDSON PAUL WEST
GROVE, Okla. - Judson P. West, 88, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003 at Integris Grove General Hospital.
Jud was born on May 29, 1914 in Bushyhead, Okla. to William David and Lina Louketta (Saltz) West. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Vilate R. Slifer on November 22, 1944 in Los Angeles, Calif., He worked as a hydraulic Engineer for Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach, Calif. for 25 years. Upon his retirement in 1960, he moved to Grove and worked in real estate and raised cattle. Jud was a charter member of the Independent Baptist Church. He was a member of the Cattlemen's Association and a life member of the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include his wife, Vi West of Grove; three daughters, Susan Sharp and husband, Joe of Grove, Linda Copeland of St. Louis, Mo. and Rebecca West of Grove; one brother, Noel West of Camas, Wash.; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 28, 2003 at the Independent Baptist Church in Grove with Rev. Ray Melugin officiating and Rev. Bud Worthington assisting. Burial will follow at the Olympus Cemetery. The Grove Veterans Ritual Team will conduct military rights.
Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove.

JESSE WAYNE WHITE
GROVE, Okla. - Jesse Wayne White, age 83, died Saturday, May 24, 2003 at Integris Grove General Hospital. Mr. White was born September 26, 1919 in Checotah, Okla. to Mr. and Mrs. James White. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 26 years of service. He moved to Grove from Tulsa this year.
Surviving are two children, Jim White and wife, Diane, and Bettie Sorenson; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
No services are planned.
Arrangements provided by Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove.

RICHARD NEAL WHITE
GROVE, Okla. - Richard Neal White, 59, died Wednesday, December 17, 2003, at his home in Grove.
Richard White was born on June 5, 1944 in Miami, Okla., to Robert B. White, Sr. and Ada (Bent) White. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and he worked as a brick mason during his lifetime. Mr. White was the Seneca Cayuga Tribe Ceremonial Chief and a member of the Wyandotte Color Guard. He was a member of the Intertribal Gourd Society and the Painted Horse War Dance Society. He was a teacher of the Seneca Cayuga Language and Cultural Society. He was also an elder at the Shawnee Ceremonial Grounds.
Survivors include his children Tonya Blackfox and her husband Damian of Picher, Okla., and Rowena Kihega; six brothers, Reuben White of Joplin, Mo., Ronnie White of Quawpaw, Okla., Raymond "Louie" White of Catoosa, Okla., Ralph White of Grove, Roger White of El Reno, Okla. and Randy White of Grove; three sisters, Roberta Smith of N. Miami, Okla., Rosemary Fox of Miami, and Ruby Sequichie of Miami; long time friend and companion Mary "Dolly" Haney; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one son.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 20, at Basset Grove Stomp Ground with Paul Barton and Ron White officiating. Visitation will be at Seneca Cayuga A.O.A.
Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove.

MORRIS B. WHITEDAY
KANSAS, Okla. - Morris B. Whiteday, 99 year-old resident of Kansas, Oklahoma died February 22, 2003 in Salina, Oklahoma. Born January 17, 1904 in Salina, Oklahoma, he was the son of Charles and Mariah Caldwell Whiteday. Mr. Whiteday lived in Salina and the surrounding areas until October of 1942, when he moved to Avenal, California. He worked in the Kettlemen Hills, California Oil Fields and was self-employed operating a backhoe business. He returned in 1994 and settled in Kansas, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his wife Linda Frances Keeney Whiteday; One daughter, Mildred Ellen Griffin; one son, Nathaniel Whiteday.
Survivors include his son, Melvin Whiteday of Kansas, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; 5 nieces and nephews and 6 great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2003 at 2 pm at the Spavinaw-Strang Cemetery in Spavinaw, Oklahoma, A visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, February 25, 2003 at Wassan Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Arrangements by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

GLENN E. (HEAD) WIESE
GROVE - Glenn E. Wiese, age 77, completed the tasks God gave him and went home to be with his Lord on February 25, 2003 at Grove Hospital.
He leaves behind a loving wife, Mattie, of the home; two sons, Ronnie and wife, Patty, and Darrell and wife, Kathy; a daughter, Glenda and her husband, Virgil; nine grandchildren, Cale, Dillion, Madison, Nikki, Jacob, Chris, Terri, Joshua, and Jason; two great grandchildren, Tyler and Kinli; a sister, Vera Williams; and a brother, Bill Wiese.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Emma Wiese, and a sister, Opal Potter.
Glenn served in the Korean War. On October 6, 1951 he married Mattie Mae Turner and settled in the Jay, Okla. area as a carpenter. Glenn worked on the Seventh Day Adventist Church and South Side Church of Christ, as well as many homes in the area.
He and his family owned and operated Wiese General Store for 17 years. After retiring from the store, he and Mattie began operating a chicken house. Glenn loved gigging, hunting and farming. He and his family raised cattle and he always enjoyed going to horse shows and watching son Darrell and grandson Chris ride cutting horses. He also loved having people come to visit and would sit with them and tell tall tales.
Glenn was a warm, wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. His devotion to his family was total. He will be greatly missed, always loved, and never forgotten. He leaves behind a loving family and many friends whose lives have been enriched just by knowing him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please send donations to the South Side Church of Christ building fund, Jay.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m., February 28. Funeral services will be March 1, at 10:30 a.m., at South Side Church of Christ. Interment will be at Mose Ridge Cemetery in the Topsy community.
Services are entrusted to Turner Funeral Chapel, Jay.

MARY ELENORA WILHELM
Mary Elenora Wilhelm, 78, passed on to be with the Lord on Friday, June 20,
2003, at St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa.
Born Aug. 14, 1924, in Topeka, Kan., to George and Georgia Ann Trilck, she
lived in the Tulsa/Sapulpa area most of her life. She graduated from Charles
Page High School in 1943, where she was active in journalism and the
yearbook. Mary worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell until she married Curtis in 1945. They had known each other since they were 12 years old.
Mary was a member of Beaver Street Baptist Church in Jenks, where she
enjoyed church work, teaching Sunday school and singing in choir. She was a homemaker, school volunteer and enjoyed collecting antiques, working crossword puzzles, board games and was active in county and state politics. She also enjoyed camping and taking trips, going to Spavinaw, bird watching, flower gardens and talking to her friends on the phone.
Survivors are her husband, Curtis Wilhelm; daughter, Sheila Simmons and
husband, Ned, of Sapulpa; son Joe Wilhelm and wife, Patsy, of Grove;
grandchildren Paul Haggerty of Pace, Fla.; Chris Haggerty of Tulsa; and
Joseph Wilhelm, Jordan Wilhelm and Joshua Wilhelm, all of Grove;
great-grandchildren, Dalton Haggerty and Jade Haggerty, both of Pace, Fla.,
and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one grandchild, John Wilhelm.
Funeral services have been set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Beaver Street Baptist
Church in Jenks with the Rev. Bob Reid officiating. Interment will follow in
the Green Hills Memorial Gardens under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
Casket bearers will be C.W. Wilhelm, T.J. Wilhelm, Dr. L.D. Wilhelm, Bill
DeLaney, Lonnie DeLaney and Greg Jurney. Honorary bearers will be Joseph Wilhelm, Jordan Wilhelm, Joshua Wilhelm, the Adult I Mens Sunday School Class, Arthur Miller, Wayne Creekmore, Bill Johnson, John Stone, Leon Earp, Charles Guthrie, Charles Adams and Malcolm Newport.

DUDLEY DAVID "PENNY" WILLIAMS
CANEY, Kan. - Dudley D. Williams, age 74, of Caney, Kan., passed away Thursday, July 17, 2003, at the Flagstaff Medical Center in Flagstaff, Ariz. He was born on May 9, 1929, in Jay, Okla., to Richard Leroy and Bertha (Lowry) Williams. He attended school in Jay where he was known as Penny. After graduation he joined the U.S. Army serving in Company A 76th Engineer Construction Battalion from 1948 to 1950. He became a machinist and worked in the aerospace machinist programs. He married Virginia Lee Landon on March 27, 1952. She preceded him in death on March 23, 2003.
He is survived by three sons Richard L. and Keith A. Williams of Independence, Kan. and Rodger Brian of Reno, Nev.; one brother L.K. Williams of Augusta, Kan.; two sisters June Pierce of Emporia, Kan. and JoAnn Denny of Wichita, Kan.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Virginia and one brother James Richard Williams.
Graveside memorial services will be held on Friday, October 3, at 2 p.m., at Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence, Kan. with Peggy Boyce officiating.
Graves Funeral Home of Caney is in charge of the arrangements.

PAUL LAYFAYETTE WILLIAMS
MIAMI, Okla. - Paul LaFayette Williams, 80, of Miami, died Thursday, May 22, 2003 at the Missouri Rehab. Center in Mt. Vernon, Mo. after an illness.
Mr. Williams was born September 3, 1922, in Miami to Lafe and Minnie (Cole) Williams, he has lived in the area all of his life. He was a miner and worked for Ottawa County as a central foreman for many years.
Mr. Williams attended the First Assembly of God in Miami and had been a member of the Miami Odd Fellows Lodge.
Survivors include four sons, Don Williams of Miami, Lonnie Williams of Altus, Okla., Gerald Williams of Commerce, Okla. and Bobby Williams of Carl Junction, Mo.; one daughter, Polly Johnson of Vinita, Okla.; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren also survive.
His parents, a brother and sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 27, at the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home in Commerce. Rev. Jerry Von Moss officiated. Burial was in the Ottawa Indian Cemetery southeast of Miami.
Pallbearers were his grandsons. His granddaughters served as honorary pallbearers.
Arrangements provided by Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home, Commerce.

VIRGIL WAYNE WILLIAMS
Virgil Wayne Williams, 67, of Afton, Okla., died Friday, July 4, 2003, in Bernice, Okla. after a sudden illness.
Mr. Williams was born October 1, 1935, in Afton, Okla. to Waldo (Woody) and Ophelia Williams, and he lived in Afton most of his life before moving to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, returning to Afton in 1994. He was a journeyman electrician and worked for B.F. Goodrich in Miami. Mr. Williams was currently employed with the Water Department for the City of Afton.
Mr. Williams attended the First Baptist Church in Afton, and he was a member of the Afton/Fairland Odd Fellows Lodge. He was a life-time member of the Miami Elks Lodge.
Mr. Williams married Jean Nett on May 7, 1977 in Miami, and she survives him. He is also survived by a son, David Williams of Hartford, Michigan, and four daughters, Rexanna Douthit of Miami, Okla., Diana Culver of Afton, Okla., Brenda Winton of Afton, Okla., and Stephanie Fried of Miami, Okla. He is also survived by his mother, Ophelia Williams of Afton and three brothers, Paul Calvin Williams of Narcissa, Okla., James Edward Williams of Tuscaloosa. Ala., and Anthony Ray Williams of Miami, Okla. Survivors also include twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2003, at the Afton School Gymnasium in Afton. The Rev. Charles Price will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Afton under the direction of the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home, Afton.
pallbearers will be Johnny Johnson, Tracey Williams, Terry Lee Williams, Steven Williams, Jeb Williams, and Bill Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Speer, Billy Mack Harrison, Homer Lundey, Jim Todd, and A.J. Driggars.
The family will receive friends at 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home in Afton.
