MAJORIE M. BROOMFIELD
1931 - 2004
JAY, Okla. - Majorie M. Broomfield, 73, died Thursday, July 22, 2004 at Monroe Manor in Jay.
Marjorie Broomfield was born July 1, 1931 in Augusta, Kan. to Forest and Ethel (Boucher) Broomfield. She worked as a babysitter. Majorie enjoyed reading and doing embroidery.
Survivors include two sisters, Helen Addington and her husband Garland of Tulsa, and Lois Flewelling of Holton, Kan.; and 20 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2004 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Jay with James Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hermon Cemetary.
Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Jay.

JAMES "BROWNIE" DANIEL
1917 - 2004
VINITA, Okla. – James "Brownie" Daniel, 87, of White Oak, passed away early Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at Rosewood Terrace Nursing Center. Brownie was born on March 1, 1917 in Centralia, Okla. to John J. and Mary M. ( Thornton) Daniel.
Brownie was a carpenter. He worked for Wonder Bread in Tulsa for 27 years and retired from Oklahoma Fixtures in Tulsa in 1984. Brownie served his country during World War II in the U. S. Army. He was a member of Family Praise Center in Vinita.
On May 13, 1939 Brownie was united in marriage to Lena A. Scheer in Sapulpa, and from this union they had three children.
Survivors include his wife Lena Daniel of the home, children Barbara A. Spradling and husband Bill of White Oak, Sidney B. Daniel and wife Sharon of Tulsa, John B. Daniel and wife Patsy of Claremore; 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; one sister, Virginia Smith of Vinita; one brother, Joseph Daniel of Colorado Springs, Colo.
Brownie was preceded in death by both his parents, one sister, Marteena White; and three brothers, Dorsey Daniel, George Daniel and Paul Daniel.
The Daniel family requests that donations be made to the Family Praise Center.
Lena Daniel and other family members will be at Burckhalter Funeral Home on Friday evening to receive friends and other family members from 7 to 8 p.m.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Jerry Ogdon officiating. Honorary casket bearers will be Paul Spradling, John Spradling, Sidney Daniel, Jr., Josh Daniel, Marvin Wilkins and Earl Abrams.
Arrangements are under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home of Vinita.

RUTH M. JENKINS
1917-2004
VINITA, Okla. – Ruth M. Jenkins, 86, of Vinita, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at Craig General Hospital in Vinita. Ruth was born on August 26, 1917 in Ottawa County to Louis R. and Ruth F. (Waugh) Cook. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include Ruth’s children, Leona James and husband Jessie of Tulsa, LaVona Ashford and husband Melvin of Tulsa, and Gene Green and wife Fern of Vinita; 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; one sister, Laura L. Browning of Grove; one brother, Jesse O. Cook of California; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by both of her parents, her first husband Ausbin W. Green, her second husband Enoch O. Jenkins, and two children, Jesse Laverne Green and Janice Louise Elrod. One sister and nine brothers also preceded her in death.
The family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Funeral services for Ruth will be held on Friday, July 23, 2:30 p.m. at the Frank L. Burckhalter Memorial Chapel with Pastor Henry Haynes officiating. Services as casket bearers will be Doug Ashford, Brian Williams, Craig Ashford, Tom Allard, Mark Elrod, and Matthew Elrod.
Committal services will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita. Services are under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home of Vinita.

JAMIE A. NOLAN
1967 - 2004
GROVE, Okla. – Jamie A. Nolan, resident of Bernice, died at Integris Grove General Hospital, Thursday, July 22, 2004, after a sudden illness. She was 37.
Jamie was born March 27, 1967 at Sarasota, Fla., to James and Jean Hoover Terwilliger. She made her home in Bernice since 2002, coming from Vinita, where she had lived for 15 years. She worked as a cook for Indian Hills Marina. She had volunteered as a worker with the senior citizens/community center in Bernice.
She is survived by a very special friend, Grant Forkner, of the home; her father, James Terwilliger of Tampa, Fla.; her mother and her friend, Jean Terwilliger and Denise Veteto, Springfield, Mo.; three sons, Joshua Terwilliger of Springfield, Mo., Robert (BJ) Terwilliger of Bernice, and Timothy Terwilliger of Illinois; two brothers, James and wife Shelly Terwilliger of Vinita, and Joe and his wife Rebecca Terwilliger of Vinita; two sisters, Jeanette and husband Mick McCleery of Fairland, and Jody Terwilliger of Springfield, Mo.; and a great aunt, Pauline Moore of Grove.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffery Terwilliger, and a grandmother, Anna Hoover.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2004 at First Baptist Church in Bernice with Rev. Stephen Decker and Rev. Butch Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Ballard Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be James Terwilliger, Joe Terwilliger, B.J. Terwilliger, Josh Terwilliger, Brandon Terwilliger, and James Grandy. A visitation for family and friends will be from 7-8 p.m. Friday at Adcock Funeral Home in Fairland. Arrangements provided by Adcock Funeral Home in Fairland.

MARION E. "GENE" CLEM
1929 - 2004
AFTON, Okla. - Marion E. "Gene" Clem, long-time resident of Afton, died Tuesday, October 5, 2004, at his home, after a lengthy illness. He was 75. He was born April 30 , 1929, at Muskogee, to Cecil G. and Irene Ragsdale Clem.
After graduating from Oklahoma Military Academy, he joined the U. S. Navy in 1948. After time in the service, he went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., where he worked for 36 and a half years, until retirement. He moved to Afton in 1954, coming from Grove. He was a past deacon at the First Christian Church in Afton, was a 20-year volunteer for both Afton and Grove Fire Departments, past president of the Afton Chamber of Commerce, past secretary for Afton Lions Club and Afton Planning Commission, a member of Akdar Shrine, a 32nd degree Mason, past master of the Afton Blue Lodge, and had served on the board of directors for the American Red Cross in Ottawa and Delaware Counties.
He married Elizabeth Ann Wright on March 25, 1986, and she survives of the home. Other survivors include four son, Michael and wife Letha Clem, of Springfield, Mo., Patrick and wife Sue Clem, of Littleton, Colo., David Clem of Des Moines, Iowa, Richard and wife Cindy Clem, of Moss Point, Miss.; two step-sons, Leroy and wife Becky Marlow of Afton, and Bert "Geno" Marlow of the home; a step-daughter, Pamela and husband Robert Plumber of Oologah, a sister, Carol Clem of Moore; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
A service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 9, 2004, at Adcock Funeral Home in Afton, with Rev. Lonnie Sanders officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Clem, Patrick Clem, David Clem, Richard Clem, Andrew Marlow, and Paul Williams. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery. A visitation will be from 6-7 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Good Shepherd Hospice, in care of the funeral home.

MARY LEA JONES
1942 - 2004
GROVE, Okla. - Mary Lea Jones, 62, died Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at Integris Grove General Hospital.
Mary was born May, 1, 1942 in Grove, to Ellis and Pearline (Hagar) Blevins, Sr. She worked in the accounting department of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. She was a member of Zena Free Holiness Church where she served as Treasurer at one time. Mary enjoyed fishing, picking berries, and being outdoors. She was always smiling and was a lovable person.
Survivors include her children, Deanette Lea Jones of Grove, Jerry Wayne Jones of Tahlequah and Nikki Renee Fitch of Yukon; four sisters, Colleen Horn of Colorado Springs, Ginny Fuller of Okmulgee, Violet Infield of Grove, Ellis Blevins, Jr. of Grove and Juanita Blevins of Grove; seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 8, 2004 at Delaware Baptist Church with John Hile and Dick Horn officiating. Burial will follow at Zena Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove.

LLOYD P. LUNDY
1920 - 2004
HAYS, Kan. - Lloyd P. Lundy, age 83, of Hays, died Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at his home. He was born December 28, 1920 in Vinita, the son of William E. and May (Herod) Lundy. He was a graduate of Vinita High School. He was a U. S. Army Air Force veteran of WW II. He married Ida Mae Simms on December 25, 1947 in Vinita. He worked in the accounting department for Phillips Petroleum in Bartlesville, Okla. and worked for Miller Electric and Production Credit, both in Vinita. From 1951 to 1954 he was a funeral director and owner of funeral homes in Miami and Picher. In 1960 he began a career in motel management and ownership in Great Bend and Salina, Kan. In 1965 he formed a corporation and purchased the Vagabond Motel in Hays and the same corporation, at one time, owned motels in Manhatten and Salina, Kan. He also formed a family partnership with his brothers and owned motels in Oklahoma City and the Villa Motel in Hays and later Lloyd bought his brothers interests in those operations and formed ownership with his wife, Ida, and daughters.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hays; the Masonic Lodge in Hays, was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Isis Shrine Temple in Salina and was a member of the Ft. Hays Shrine Club. He was a member and Past Commander of the American Legion Post in Miami, Okla.; was a member of the Hays Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow of that organization; was a member of the Kansas Lodging Association, having served as President in 1971 - 1972; was named the Kansas Hotelier of the Year in 1974; served on the Developmental Services of Northwest Kansas Board from 1979 to 1983 and was a past President in 1981 and 1982; received the Budget Host Motels Special Award for outstanding service; served on the Board of the Hays Convention and Visitors Bureau; was a director of Best Western International Board from October of 1987 to October of 1992 and was Chairman of that Board in 1991 and 1992. He was named a Special Adjunct Professor of Accounting and Information Systems at Fort Hays State University and received the Hays All American Citizen Award in 2004.
He is survived by his wife, Ida, of the home; by one daughter, Jane Matlock of Hays; by two grandchildren, Chris Norris and his wife, Marshell of Hays and Jenny Hintz and her husband, Ron, of LaCrosse; by four great grandchildren; C.J. Norris of Hays; and Aaron, Sam, and Nick Hintz of LaCrosse; and by a treasured family friend and colleague, Sabrina Collins of Hays. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Jean Norris of Baldwin in 1999.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 11, 2004 at 2:00 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Hays. Burial in Ft. Hays Memorial Gardens, Hays. Friends may call from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday and from 10:00 a.m. until noon Monday at Brock's North Hill Chapel. The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Hays Medical Center.

HELEN MYERS
1912 - 2004
GROVE, Okla. - Helen B. Myers, age 92 of Grove, formerly of Joplin, passed away at 4:40 a.m. Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at a Grove health care center.
Born July 23, 1912 in Butterfield, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Susan Utter Cameron. She had lived in the Joplin area since 1945, moving from Boulder, Colo., and moved to Grove to be near her daughter nine years ago. She was the first in her family to receive a college degree, graduating from Southwest Missouri State University in 1934. She pursued graduate studies at the University of Colorado in Boulder, where she met her husband. She taught in Missouri schools for many years, including South Junior High School in Joplin. A remarkable teacher, she is still fondly remembered by her students. She was a member of South Joplin Christian Church.
On August 27, 1938, she married Joseph O. Myers at Ft. Collins, Colo. He preceded her in death on July 20, 1988.
Survivors include a daughter, Marjorie Murphy and husband Danny of Grove; a son, John Myers of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Lloyd Cameron and wife Barbara of Summerfield, Fla.; a sister in law, Gretchen Cameron of Purdy, Mo.; three grandchildren, Sandi Oney and husband Phil of Muskogee, Karen Brown and husband Jim of Claremore, David Moore and wife Melissa of Columbia, Mo.; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 8, 2004 at Parker Chapel with Rev. Randy Hamill officiating. Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with family members serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to Pro Musica, 536 N. Wall Ave., Joplin, Mo. 64801.

BURNEVA "BEA" BROWNING
1916 - 2004
TULSA, Okla. - Bea Browning, 88, died Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at Select Specialty Hospital in Tulsa.
Bea was born on September 30, 1916 in Trenton, Mo. to John William and Mary Jane (Kelly) Wolfe. She married Kenneth Howard Baker on January 19, 1934. He preceded her in death in 1967. She then married Bill Browning on September 8, 1967 and he preceded her in death on June 11, 2001. Bea worked for Douglas Aircraft for ten years. She has lived in Grove since 1965 moving from Tulsa. She was a member of First Christian Church. She enjoyed fishing, boating, loved to dance and spending time with friends.
Survivors include two children, Judy Gray of Grove and Larry Baker of Tulsa; three grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one on the way. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Dixie Lee Baker and one grandson, Philip Dean Gray.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday at Olympus Cemetery with Dr. Robin Cowin officiating.
Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove.
