RUTH A. SHERWOOD
1949 - 2004
JOPLIN, Mo. - Ruth A. Sherwood, 55, Wyandotte, Okla., passed away at 4:20 p.m., Thursday, September 30, 2004 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin after a short illness.
Ruth was born September 11, 1949 in Fairland, the daughter of Orie and Loretta Newberry. She was a homemaker and of the Methodist Faith.
Ruth married Bill Sherwood March 28, 1997 in Miami, Okla. and he survives.
Additional survivors include; one son, Daniel Newbery of Wyandotte; four step children, Jim Sherwood, Chelsea, Okla., John Sherwood, Joplin, Don Sherwood, Wyandotte, Ron Sherwood, Joplin and Tammye Harding, Wyandotte. Two brothers, John Newberry, Wyandotte and George Newberry, State of Oklahoma. Two sisters, Patty Rickman, Wyandotte and Betty Eddings, Seneca. Two grandchildren and several step grandchildren.
Funeral services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca were held Monday, October 4, 2004 in the Campbell-Biddlecome Chapel. Rev. Don Williams officiated. Burial followed at the Modoc Indian Cemetery north of Wyandotte.

ELIZABETH RUTH SIMMONS
1926 - 2004
TULSA, Okla. - Elizabeth Ruth Simmons, age 78, died Friday October 1, 2004 in the Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa. The daughter of Edward and Violet Gladys (Mierschwander) Sharp, she was born on September 8, 1926 in Webber, Kan.
With her daughter and granddaughter she owned and operated the Busy Bees Flea Market. Elizabeth loved the vacationing and fishing trips she took every year with her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved being outdoors. Elizabeth married Roy Simmons and he preceded her in death in 1996.
Survivors include; four children, Elizabeth Ruth Sheldrick, Reeta Mae Benge, Violet Gladys Wisell and Tina Belle Wisell;, ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Also preceding in death were her parents, three children Timothy Gilford Wisell, Frances Joseph Wisell, and Violet Ruth Wisell, six brother Virgil, William "Bill", Harold, Victor, Delbert, and Eugene, and a sister Pearl.
The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2004 in the Mt. Hermon Church. The interment will follow in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery. The services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay.

JEANINE R. GRAHAM
1942 - 2004
AFTON, Okla. – Jeanine R. Graham, resident of Afton, died suddenly on Thursday, December 2, 2004. She was 62.
She was born August 24, 1942 at Ft. Madison, Iowa to Edward and Emma Hannover McWhortor. She moved to Afton in 2000, coming from Phoenix, Ariz. She worked as a toll collector at the turnpike for the Oklahoma Transportation Authority.
She was married to Mervin Holmes, and he preceded her in death in 1997.
Survivors include her mother, Emma McWhortor of the home; two sons, Scott Holmes of Windsor Heights, Iowa and Timothy Holmes of Iowa; three daughters, Susan Rex and husband Mike of Overland Park, Kan., Jody Hopkins of husband Bobby of Mitchellville, Iowa, and Kathleen Miller and husband Dan of Stilwell, Kan.; one brother, Donald McWhorter of Cerritos, Calif.; a twin sister, Jeanette Erholm of Tulsa; and seven grandchildren.
A service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 6, 2004 at Adcock Funeral Home of Afton, after which the body was to be cremated. Arrangements were provided by Adcock Funeral Home of Afton.

EVA LEE HAGER
1916 - 2004
GROVE, Okla. – Eva Lee Hager, 88, died Friday, December 3, 2004 at Integris Grove General Hospital.
Eva Lee Hager was born on November 5, 1916 in Amarillo, Texas to Virgil “Ike” and Myrtle (Smith) Tate. She married Carl W. Hager in 1936 and he preceded her in death in 1958. Eva worked as a layer foreman for Owens Glass Company in California for 27 years. She moved to Grove in 1979 from California. Eva was a member of Bible Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Darlene Marsh and husband James, and Kay Hager, all of Grove; two grandsons, Ricky Marsh and wife Ana of California, and Wesley Marsh of Tulsa; two great granddaughters, Sabrina Ann Marsh and Rachel Marie Marsh.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Guy Morrow officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, December 6, at the funeral home.
Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove.

ROBERT J. SPYCHALSKI, SR.
1941 - 2004
GROVE, Okla. – Robert J. Spychalski, Sr., 63, died Friday, December 3, 2004 at Integris Grove General Hospital.
Robert was born on February 18, 1941 in Chicago, Ill. to Joseph and Loretta (Macky) Spychalski. He was a veteran of the National Guard. He married Wanda Jackson on November 15, 1965 in Grove. Robert worked on the docks for Yellow Freight for 22 years. He was a coach and president of the Little League in Wyandotte for six years, and he loved to fish.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda, of Grove; three sons, Robert Spychalski, Jr. and wife Sheri of Grove, Joseph Spychalski and wife Tami of Pryor, Michael Spychalski and wife Tracie of Grove; one sister, Charlotte Dunn of Joliet, Ill.; one brother, Joseph Spychalski of Winnetka, Ill.; 12 grandchildren, Tylor, Jacob, Joshua, Gwyndalyn, Michala, Bailey, Dustin, Dillon, Dolton, Brittany, Morgan, and Paige.
The family received friends on Sunday, December 5, 6-8 p.m. at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove.

DOROTHY THERESA HUTCHINSON
1934-2004
SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. - Dorothy Theresa Hutchinson, 70 year-old resident of Siloam Springs, Ark. died November 30, 2004, at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation in Siloam Springs.
Born November 23, 1934 in Siloam Springs, Ark., she was the daughter of William H. Kirkpatrick and Lelah G. Baber Kirkpatrick. She lived most of her life in Siloam Springs. Dorothy attended nursing school in Dallas, Texas and was a registered nurse. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry T. Hutchinson, on January 16, 1995.
Survivors include two sons, Harry T. Hutchinson, Jr. and wife Twila of New Braunsfel, Texas, and William C. Hutchinson and wife Debbie of Northfork, Va.; one daughter, Rebecca T. Walls and husband Steve of Siloam Springs, Ark.; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 2004 at Wasson Memorial Chapel of Siloam Springs, Ark. with Brother Doyle Walls officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2004 at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

LILA MAE VALENTINE
1922-2004
VINITA, Okla. - Lila Mae Valentine, 82, former Vinita resident, passed away early Sunday morning, November 28, 2004 at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. Lila was born on January 9, 1922 in Ketchum, Okla. to Charles and Edith (Bacon) Sperry.
Lila was a homemaker and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Ketchum. She loved quilting and making dolls, cooking, watching football and stockcar races. Lila also enjoyed reading and studying her Bible.
Survivors include her daughter, Anita Wear and husband Walter of Gentry, Ark.; three grandchildren, Laura Hays, Tim Wear, and Shaun Wear; great-grandchildren, Felicia Anglin, Amber Stillwell, and Ethan Hays; two nieces, Linda Booth and Sue Wooten; and a sister-in-law, Margaret F. Sperry.
Lila was preceded in death by both of her parents, husband Willard Valentine, daughter Janice Faye Valentine, and her brother Melvin Sperry.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2004 at 2 p.m. in the Frank L. Burckhalter Memorial Chapel with Bro. Isaac McBride officiating at Burckhalter Funeral Home. Serving as honorary casket bearers will be Tim Wear, Shaun Wear, and Matt Hays. Burial is to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Vinita.
Arrangements are under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home of Vinita.

GRACE E. ZARSE
1913 - 2004
GRANBY, Mo. – Grace E. Zarse, 91, formerly of Joplin, Mo., died at 8:454 p.m. Monday, November 29, 2004 at a Granby nursing center. She had been ill for several years.
Mrs. Zarse was born August 8, 1913 in Sarcoxie, Mo. to Ivan Franklin and Susan Anna (Harris) Rawlins. She was a member of the Granby Church of Christ, had traveled for Howard Johnson’s as an organizational manager, worked for General Mills in Chicago, Ill., and had cared for elderly at her home.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Paul G. Porter and Willis Zarse, and two daughters, Bonnie Lou Porter and Patsy Faye Porter.
Survivors include three sons, John J. Porter and wife Wilma Jean of Joplin, Joe Allen Porter of Joplin, and Paul Porter and wife Pam of Grove, Okla.; two daughters, Ella Mae Mosley of Neosho, Mo. and Bessie A. Norton of Willow Springs, Mo.; 13 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren.
The body has been cremated. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 4, at the Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary with Rev. Freddie Franks officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be at a later date in the Newtonia Cemetery.

SANDRA LYLE
1956-2004
GROVE, Okla. - Sandra Lyle, a long time resident of Grove died Monday November 29, 2004 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo. at the age of 48. She had been battling Lupus for many years.
Sandra was born august 1, 1956 to LeRoy Adams and Mary Morris at Fairland, Okla. She graduated from Grove High School and received two associate’s degrees from the University of Mississippi, one in Phlebotomy and one as a Medical Assistant. She was employed at Integris Grove General Hospital as a Phlebotomist until her disease forced her to retire. she was preceded in death by her father and husband Irvin Victor Lyle.
Survivors include her mother Marry Morris of Grove. Three sons; Travis Le Lyle of Grove, Joshua Kane Lyle of Charlotte, N.C., Mark Ashton Lyle, and one brother, Johnny L. Adams of Oklahoma City. One future daughter-in-law Brandy Clark of Bernice and one grandchild due in January. Two nephews, and one niece, several aunts, uncles, and a good friend, Don Meier.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2004 at the First Christian Church in Grove. Don Cowin to officiate with Randy Coffin assisiting. Interment will follow at the Olympus Cemetery in Grove. Family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

CAROL “JOYCE” PUCKETT
1934-2004
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Carol “Joyce” Puckett, 70 year-old resident of Springdale, Ark., died December 27, 2004, at Regency Hospital of Northwest Arkansas. in Fayetteville, Ark. Born May 20, 1934 in Pampa, Texas, she was the daughter of Murrell E. Love and Dolores Pauline Fritchle Love. She lived most her life in Colcord, Okla. where she was am homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Warren Puckett in 1998.
Survivors include: three sons, Ronald Puckett of Arnett, Okla., Larry Puckett of Wasilla, Alaska, and Tony Puckett of St. Augustine, Fla.; one daughter, Cindy Litchford of Van Buren, Ark.; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Love of Caney, Kan., and Marvin Love of Rogers, Ark.; seven sisters, Pat Sharp, Deloris Stults, Sandra Canup, Polly Everett, and Kathy High, all of Springdale, Ark., Karen Curry of Alma, Ark., and Debi Maestri of Rogers, Ark.
