Campbell

Mary Sue Campbell, 65, died May 26, 2000. Services will be held at Epworth United Methodist Church in Mangum at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 30. Officiation will be Rev. Elbert Shumaker and Rev. Margaret Marcy. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery. Greer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born October 2, 1934 in Mangum to Carl and Oleta Allgood. She attended Mangum High School and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Speech Therapy. She worked as a teacher for the Houston Council for Mentally Retarded Children and later, as a teacher and director for Acorn Children's Center in Oklahoma City. She was a tireless advocate for children and a therapeutic foster mother for many children through the Department of Human Services. She was a devoted to her family and her religion.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dan, her parents, and a sister, Linda.

Survivors include a brother, Carl Wayne Allgood, Sr. and wife Mary of Vernon, Texas; son Ron Wright and wife Cathy and children Jason, Justin, and Christopher of Edmond; daughter Tiffany Brooks and husband Michael and their children Terra Wright, Danielle Andrews, Katie and Brodie Brooks of Norman; sister-in-law Alice of Altus and brother-in-law Don of Granite; several nieces and nephews.

Davis

Charles William Davis, 83, Blair, died Thursday at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Blair with Randy Mitchell and S.K. Robinson officiating. Burial will be at the Warren Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Peoples Cooperative Funeral Home of Lone Wolf.

He was born Jan. 10, 1917 in Hobart to James Monroe and Sara Ann (Moon) Davis. He married Opal Lee McElroy Dec. 16, 1939 in Mangum. He farmed and ranched and he was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Opal; two sons and daughters-in-law, Barry and Jo Davis and Rick and Jan Davis all of Blair; a brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Myrtle Davis of Warren; four grandchildren, Anita Martinez and husband Adolfo of Blair, Mitch Davis and wife Stacy and Wes Davis all of Chickasha and Tara Davis of Weatherford; three great-grandchildren; many other nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Mark, Fred, Issam, Jim Dennis and Jefferson Davis; and three sisters, Sally Tufford, Effie Motely and Essie Cypert.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Warren Cemetery Fund.

Dickerson

R.F. Dickerson, 84, died at his home in Oklahoma City, Friday, April 28, 2000. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Eldorado Cemetery with Bill Osborne officiating. Services are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

Dickerson was born Jan. 27, 1916, to Rufus Fred Dickerson and Allie Mae Franklin. He attended school at Midway.

He married Lena Goss on Feb. 19, 1938, in Eldorado. He owned and operated Dickerson Automotive and was a member of the Church of Christ in Eldorado as well as being a member of the Farmer's Coop.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was a collector of unusual things. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Dickerson was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bill and Melvin Dickerson.

Survivors include: his wife, Lena of the home; one daughter, Charlene (Grossman) Walker and her husband Mike of Oklahoma City and two grandchildren, Christopher Dickerson and Serene Clinchy.

Dickey

Cynthia Dickey died Monday at her home in Olustee. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Olustee with Bill Osborne officiating. Burial will follow at the Olustee Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

She was born Dec. 8, 1906, in Garland, Texas, to Samuel Bell Sutton and Eutoney (Wallace) Sutton. She married Frank Dickey Jan. 11, 1938. He died in December, 1981.

She was a long time member of the Olustee Methodist Church and was active both in her church and community.

Survivors include two sons, Frank K. Dickey Jr. of Altus and Sam Dickey both of Altus; two daughters, Anita Martin of Escondido, Calif. and Sue Pearce of Cedar Park, Texas ; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren

Donnell

Linda Marie Donnell, 36, died Sunday, May 28, 2000, at her home in Altus. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Friday at the Macedonia Baptist Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Broughton officiating and the Rev. Aulston Ridley assisting. Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

Donnell was born Aug. 17, 1963, in Altus, to Tommie and Emma Donnell. She was baptized at an early age at New Hope Baptist Church. Later, she became a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She was song leader for the choir and participated in Sunday school. She loved to visit the First Baptist Church.

Donnell was a graduate of Altus High School. She participated in the area, district and state Special Olympics, receiving several ribbons and medals. She was a client of Southwest Enterprises, formerly known as Tumbleweed Work Center.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins.

Survivors include: her parents, Tommie and Emma Donnell; three sisters, Judy Vann and her husband Richard of Tulsa, LaQuita Jenkins and her husband Jimmy of Altus and Ella Lambey and her husband Phil, also of Altus; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She is also survived by her special friend, Freddie White Eagle.

Erickson

Clifford "Shorty" Erickson, 86, Altus, died Wednesday at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Graveside services with full military honors are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Altus City Cemetery. Arrangements are with Kincannon Funeral Home of Altus.

He was born July 14, 1913 to Herman and Mathilda Erickson in Alexandria, Minn. He served in the United States Army and the Air Force in World War II. He was in the infantry as a fireman and staff sergeant. He was in the Aircraft Rescue United in the Air Force. His honors included the Combat Infantry Badge.

His hobbies included fishing and spending time with his friends at the Friendship Inn Restaurant.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Mary Erickson of Florien, La.; a daughter, Connie Erickson of Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Luke, Thane and Caitlin Erickson; and many other family and friends.

Garvin

W.O. Garvin, Jr., was born Nov. 22, 1916, at Caney. He was the son of the late Willard O. and Minnie (Provence) Garvin. He died Tuesday, May 23, 2000. Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Friday at Lowell-Tims Chapel with the Rev. Keith Wiginton officiating. Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

He married Opal D. Seright on April 22, 1936. He had been a resident of Altus and Jackson County since 1955, moving here from Hollis. He worked for Copeland Brothers for more than 24 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and also served as an usher.

Survivors include: his wife, Opal Garvin of Altus; two sons, Larry Garvin of Kingfisher and Eddie Garvin and his wife Shelly of Blair; three sisters, Manota Atkins of Visalia, Calif., India Price of Fort Worth, Texas and Oneta Corley of Payson, Ariz.; one brother, E.J. Garvin of Denison, Texas; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.O. and Minnie Garvin; one sister, Opal Crow; three brothers, Haskell, Buel and Roy Garvin.

The family of W.O. Garvin will greet friends at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home from 5 until 7 p.m. today.

Halbert

Minnie Jerebee Halbert, 102, Vernon, Texas died Monday at a Vernon, Texas Hospital. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the First Methodist Church of Vernon. Burial will be at Carlsbad, N.M. Visitation will be at Sullivan Funeral Home of Vernon from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. today.

She was a member of the Anne Lee Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution of Altus. She was also a member of the DAR of Carlsbad, Thomas Jefferson Chapter, Daughters of American Colonist, Eastern Star, Business and Professional Women's Club and the Methodist Church.

She was born June 19, 1897 to David Morgan and Quinnie Belle (Middlebrook) Ferebee. She lived in New Mexico for many years before moving back to Texas. She lived in both Odell and Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Survivors include sister-in-laws, Mrs. Roy Wilkerson of Vernon and Ruth Ferebee of Colorado; several nieces and nephews including Mr. and Mrs. Trent Koontz of Altus and many friends.

Hayes

Curtis Hayes, 77, Hollis, died Thursday at Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Hollis with the Rev. James Densman officiating. Burial will be at the Fairmount Cemetery under the direction of Patterson Greer Funeral Home.

He was born Sept. 24, 1922 in Olustee to George Simpson and Clara Belle (Warren) Hayes. He married Laverne Trammell Sept. 8, 1943 in Hollis. He started working as a lineman for Harmon Electric in 1945. He was transferred to Mangum in 1949. He returned to Hollis in 1965 where he became manager with Harmon Electric. He retired in 1972 due to ill health. He taught Snday School in the children's department at the First Baptist Church of Hollis for many years and served as a deacon for more than 40 years.

Survivors include his wife, Laverne Hayes, of the home in Hollis: two daughters, Earlaine Moore of Lubbock, Texas and Diane Bailey and her husband, Phil of Lufkin, Texas; a son, Gaylon Hayes and his wife, Paulette of Moore a brother, Emory Hayes and his wife, Noma of Moore; two sisters, Verna Prock of Hollis and Melba Smith of Dallas; five grandchildren, Mitchell Moore and his wife, Stacey, Michelle Moore, Stephani Yowell and her husband, Brent, Sharri Corley and Terra Hayes; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parent and two sisters, Loda Barnett and Odell Smith.

Jones

Minnie Loleta Jones, 89, Joshua Tree, Calif. died Thursday in Anaheim, Calif. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Warren Cemetery with Ardron Hinton officiating. Services are under the direction of Peoples Cooperative Funeral Home of Lone Wolf.

She was born Dec. 27, 1910 in Warren to Charles and Laura (Clancy) Allen. She attended school at Elk View and Warren. She married Bernice L. Jones in July, 1932. He preceded her in death on Oct. 25, 1995. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, Bernice; an infant; a daughter, Brenda Twist; and three sisters.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Billy Schroeder of Anaheim; a son, Rex Allen Jones of Snow Camp, N.C.; two brothers, Ueal Allen of Warren and Clarence Allen of Lone Wolf; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Love

Bobby Earl Love, 48, Altus, died Thursday, May 18, 2000, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Friday at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Bennie Alexander and Elder D.W. Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Love was born Nov. 7, 1952, in Altus, to Ella Jean Love. He attended school in Altus and was self employed in the maintenance business. He was a member of the Church of God in Christ.

He is survived by his mother, Ella Jean Hannon of Altus; six sisters, Barbara Love of Del City, Helen Ryan of Midwest City, Robbie Fisher of Shreveport, La., Denise Allen and her husband Alton of Fort Bragg, N.C., Meta B. Henderson of Camp Red Cloud, Korea, Debra Coggins and her husband Thalmor of Lauren, S.C. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by one sister.
