EDITH MAE MCKISICK O’ GARA
1910-2004
VINITA, Okla. - Edith Mae McKisick O’Gara, longtime Vinita resident passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2004, at Craig General Hospital.
She was born September 1, 1910 to Robert S. Cumiford and Ada G. (Massingale) Cumiford in Delaware County, Okla.
Mae married Charles Vaughn “Bun” McKisick March 3, 1927. They had three sons, Robert Vaughn, Billy Howard and Johnny Max. In 1946, Bun and Mae bought the jewelry store from S.F. Grubb and changed the name from Grubb Jewelry to C.V. McKisick Jewelry. It was located in a two-car garage at 604 West North Ave. in Vinita.
In 1959, Bun and Mae moved to downtown Vinita at 125 South Wilson. They changed the name from C.V. McKisick Jewelry to McKisick Jewelers. They turned the store over to John and Sue in 1963. He preceded her in death June 30, 1963.
Mae was a member of Craig General Hospital Cherry Reds, Craig County Election Board, Red Cross worker, helped make bandages during W.W.II, and one of the first volunteers to collect money for Vinita’s Fairview Cemetery during the 1940’s. She was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed growing beautiful flowers.
Mae was married to Vernon O’Gara. He preceded her in death on May 26, 1993.
Preceding her in death were her parents, three sons; Bob, Bill, and John McKicick; three brothers and one sister.
Survivors include: three grandsons, Clay McKisick and wife, Connie of Vinita, Cliff McKisick and wife, Shelley ,and Rob McKisick and wife; two great granddaughters and four great grandchildren; three step grandsons, Gary, John and Ken Roberts; seven step grandchildren; ten step grandchildren; three daughters in law, Sue (Kay) McKisick of Vinita, Janie Madison McKisick of Oklahoma City and Patricia McKisick Everett of Washington.
The family will receive friends and family Thursday, December 16, 2004 from 7-8 p.m. at Burkhalter Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 17, 2004 at 10 a.m. in the Burkhalter Memorial Chapel with Pastor Roy Miller officiating . Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Serving as casket bearers are: Clay McKisick, Cliff McKisick, John Roberts, Ken Roberts, Gary Roberts, and Junior O’Gara.
Arrangements are under the direction of Burkhalter Funeral Home of Vinita.

OTIS M. WYNN, JR.
1925-2004
AFTON, Okla. - Otis M. Wynn, Jr., lifetime resident of Afton, died at Craig General Hospital in Vinita, Wednesday, December 15, 2004, after an illness. He was 75.
Mr. Wynn was born July 25, 1925, to Otis M. and Gladys Mae Fletcher Wynn, Sr., at Afton, Okla. After finishing high school, he served in the US Army from December 14, 1944, until November 21, 1946. He married Sylvia Langley at Afton, on January 5, 1947. He worked as a clerk and retired from the Afton Coop. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Afton, and the Afton American Legion.
Survivors include: his wife, Sylvia, of the home; a son and his wife, Roger and Rebecca Wynn; two daughters, Tish Linn and husband, Lonnie, of Afton, Helen Wynn of Afton; an adopted daughter, Kathie Brown of Afton; two sisters, Dorseylene Adkins and Carol Devin, both of Afton; six grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 18, 2004, at First Assembly of God Church in Afton, with Rev. Larry Larive officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be : Charlie Moore, Brian Sparks, David Mullins, John Michael Mullins, Johnny Langley, and Jim Wyrick, with Dennis Olson serving as honorary pallbearer.
Burial will follow at Sixkiller Cemetey, SE of Afton.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the First Assembly of God Church Building Fund, in care of the funeral home. Arrangements provided by Adcock Funeral Home in Afton.

LUCILLE HOLCOMB
1920 - 2004
GROVE, Okla. – Lucille Holcomb, resident of Kansas City, Kan., died at Integris Grove General Hospital on Tuesday, December 14, 2004. She was 84.
She was born at Protection, Kan. on January 23, 1920 to Ollie and Anna Troyer Schrock. She married Vernon Wagner on October 16, 1937. She later married Clayton G. Holcomb on September 15, 1956, and he preceded her in death.
She had lived in Kansas City since 2001, moving there from Hutchison. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kansas City.
Mrs. Holcomb is survived by one son and his wife, Sam and Pat Wagner of Wichita, Kan.; one daughter and her husband, Barbara and Harlod Jenkins of the home; one brother, Don Schrock of Garland, Texas; two sisters, Maebelle Avery and Darlene Newlin, both of Hutchison, Kan.; and two grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 17, 2004 at Old Mission Cemetery in Wichita, Kan. under the direction of Adcock Funeral Home of Afton.

HENRY HARGUS (HANK) EDWARDS JR.
1918-2004
GROVE, Okla. - Henry Hargus (Hank) Edwards Jr., 86 passed peacefully into eternity December 5, 2004 at his home on Grand Lake. He was born Oct. 21, 1918 in Waco, Texas.
In the early 50’s Hank started his journey in the oil and gas business froming Edwards and Gauntt Oil Co. He was a distributor for many gasoline stations in the greater OKC area and later successfully pioneeered the business of Truck Stops in Okla., and Texas up until 1998.
Hank was a cancer survivor form the early 80’s and he never let it slow him down. During the late 40’s, Hank became an avid golfer, winning numerous state and national tournaments. He and Nancy lived in Rancho Mirage, Calif. for many years where he was most often the first on the tennis courts each day at Sunrise Country Club with friends and family. He and Nancy formed great, long lasting friendships in the desert. Hank also loved the fishing trips to Bull Shoals and the White River with the guys of his family, often staying up late playing spades and hearts. Hank thoroughly enjoyed his home on Grand Lake and fishing with his buddies there. Grand Lake is where he wanted to spend his last days with Nancy, who cared for him with a great love and passion. We would like to thank the Hospice care-givers; Jo, Sheila, Kathy, and everyone else for their compassion and care. You are God’s Angels.
Hank was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Hargus Sr. and Bertha Belle Edwards; sisters, Margaret Jane Edwards, Helen Edwards; and first wife, Myrtle Edwards Schilling.
Survivors include: his devoted and beloved wife, Nancy; children, Bob Edwards and wife Melinda of OKC, Jan Edwards Beville and husband, Carl of Edmond; grandchildren, J.J., Andy, and Stephanie Edwards, Jennifer and Brian Seville, Sarah Mathews and husband, Michael, Rich Prange and wife, Ty; great grandchildren, Adyson and Barron Prange; nephews, John Norman, Richard Norman and wife, Nan; and niece, Nancy Levesque and husband, John and their respective families.
A memorial service will be held at New Life Family Worship Center at Grand Lake. In lieu of flowers, our family requests that you make a donation to New Life Family Worship Center. We rejoice that Hank is with our Lord and released from the body that could no longer support him.

LYNZE MARIE KINCADE
INFANT
TULSA, Okla. - Lynze Marie Kincade, 10 month old daughter of Misty and Jessie Kincade was called to the Lord on December 11, 2004 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. Lynze was born on January 29, 2004 at Claremore, Okla.
She will never suffer from VLACD disease again. She fought as long as she could. Now she is in the arms of Jesus with no pain, no doctors, and no more tears. She is also with her big sister, Madison JoLynn, whom passed before her.
Lynze’s smile lit up the room. She was a Daddy’s girl and Mommy’s little princess. She loved her dolly, the color pink, and to play with her big brother Mason Kincade. He could always make her smile even on her bad days. She attended Sunday School at Big Cabin Baptist Church.
Survivors include: proud parents, Jesse and Misty (Delcour) Kincade; one brother, Mason Eugene Kincade; grandparents, Jerry and Deloris Kincade and Angie Delcour; great grandparents, Evelyn Kincade, Kenneth Bass, and Juanita Beck.
The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday evening from 7-8 p.m. at Burkhalter Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Big Cabin Baptist Church with Pastor Thom Duncan officiating. Honorary casket bearers will be Wesley Bass, Ray Delcour, Aaron Kincade, and Kenny Williams.
Arrangements are under the direction of Burkhalter Funeral Home of Vinita, Okla.

KEITH LEROY (PEACHY) MARTIN
1948 - 2004
BOURBON COUNTY, Kan. – Keith Leroy (Peachy) Martin, 56, of Fairland, Okla., died Monday, December 13, 2004 from injuries he received in a trucking accident in Bourbon County, Kan.
Mr. Martin was born November 13, 1948 in Fairland to Mary Lou (Keeling) and Cyle Martin, and he has lived in Ottawa County all his life. He had been a truck driver since 1968, working for the Jim Woods Marketing Company in Treece, Kan. He was past Exulted Ruler of the Elks Lodge, and member of the Fairland Odd Fellows Lodge.
He married Carol Dugan on February 5, 2000 at Eureka Springs, Ark., and she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include his mother, Mary Lou Griffith of Stockton, Calif.; one step-son, Todd Braden of Afton; two step-daughters and their husbands, Heather and Mitch Armstrong of Welch and April and Cody Frost of Bernice; three brothers, Larry and wife Kathy Martin of Miami, Charlie and wife Cindy Martin of Fairland, and Loyd Martin of Cooper, Texas; and three sisters, Linda Baca of Corona, Calif., Sharon Williams of Oklahoma, and Melissa and husband Eddie Hudspeth of Afton.
He is also survived by seven granddaughters, who lovingly called him “Peachy,” Mariah, Katy Jo, Paige, Chloe, Dalyn, Livie, and Lanni Brook. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews also survive.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 17, 2004 at the First Assembly of God in Fairland with Robert Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, December 16, at the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home in Afton.

FERN MYERS
1909 - 2004
JOPLIN, Mo. – Fern Myers, longtime resident of Afton, died at Freeman East Hospital in Joplin early Tuesday, December 14, after an illness. She was 95.
She was born January 12, 1909 at Mill Grove, Mo. to Fred and Hestoria Vanderpool Fenstermacher. She was a housekeeper, having worked for the Jim and Eva Fuser family and the Norman and Clara Mae Matlock family for several years.
She married Otho L. Myers on November 5, 1942, and he preceded her in death on May 26, 21004. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Afton.
Survivors include two brothers-in-law, Curtis Myers of Afton, and Leo Myers of Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2004 at the First Assembly of God Church in Afton with Rev. Larry Larive officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Afton. Serving as pallbearers will be C.E. “Bud” Wheatley, James Fuser, Jared Fuser, John Fuser, Jason Fuser, and Roy Fuser.
Arrangements are provided by Adcock Funeral Home in Afton.

PETE BAILEY
1920-2004
COLCORD, Okla. - Pete Bailey, 84, of Colcord, Okla., died December 11, 2004, at Northwest Medical Center, Springdale, Ark. Pete was born March 28, 1920 in Colcord, Okla.
Mr. Bailey was the son of Richard Bailey and Ruth Williams Bailey. He was a lifetime resident of Colcord, Okla. where he lived and worked as a farmer. His religion was baptist.
Survivors include : two sisters, Annie Gifford of Westville, Okla. and Lillie Clark of West Siloam Springs, Okla.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 15, 2004, at the Wasson Memorial Chapel, in Siloam Springs, Ark., with the Bro. Ralph DeVore officiating.
