EDITH ADA SIMMONS
1934-2005
LOWELL, Ark. - Edith Ada Simmons, 71, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2005 at her home in Lowell, Ark. Mrs.
Simmons was born on January 16, 1934 in Jonesboro, Ark. She was the daughter of William McNeal Simmons and Martha (Jones) Simmons. Edith married Estol Ray Simmons on June 4, 1964 in Pryor, Okla. She received her Bachelors Degree in Science and Education from Northeastern State University at Tahlequah, Okla. She then began a long career in education. She was a long time teacher at Mosley School in West Siloam Springs, Okla. and she also taught for Watts Public School. Mrs. Simmons was a member of the Oklahoma Educational Association and she was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: four sons, William David Marney and wife, Julie of Pryor, Okla., Larkin Don Marney Jr. and wife, Anne of Athens, Texas, Archie Albert Simmons and wife, Lai Ann of Tulsa, Okla., and Estol Ray Simmons Jr. and wife, Ann of San Antonio, Texas; three daughters, Mary Sue Hernandez and husband, Tomas of Tulsa, Okla., Martha Lou Jones of Ogdensburg, N.Y., and Teri Simmons of Lowell, Ark.; one brother, Claude Clayton and wife, Vera of Pryor, Okla.; three sisters, Helen Davis of Adair, Okla., Robbie Taylor of Pryor, Okla., and Lois Whorton and husband, Faye of Claremore, Okla., 12 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 7, 2005 at the funerla home from 4-8 p.m. Services for Mrs. Simmons will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at the Moseley School Gym in West Siloam Springs, Okla. The Rev. Gerald Griffin will officiate the service. Burial will be held at Johnson Cemetery in West Siloam Springs under the direction of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Ark.

LUAN L. YATES
1944-2005
GROVE, Okla. - Luan L. Yates, 60, died Friday, February 4, 2005 at her hom in Grove.
Luan L. Yates was born on June 4, 1944 in Carrington, N.D. to Avil and Gertrude (Hogart) Groskruetz. She married Larry A. Yates on April 3, 1961. Luan worked for Simmons Food Service of Southwest City, Mo. for twenty years. She had lived in Grove for twenty two years coming from Wichita, Kan. Luan was very involved with her family, especially her grandchildren. She frequented yard sales and loved to garden. She enjoyed the planning of her annual Easter and September family reunions.
Survivors include: her husband, Larry of Grove; two sons, Allen Yates and George Yates, both of Grove; two daughters, Leann Turner of Mulvane, Kan., and Tammy Griffith of Grove; one brother, Gary Groskruetz of Nowata, Okla., 12 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Vicki Guymonm on July 16, 2003 and two brothers, Harold and Jimmy Groskruetz.
The family will recieve friends on Tuesday, February 8, 2005 from 6-8 p.m. at Ellis Funeral Home in Grove. Funeral Services will held on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at First Assembly of God in Grove with Rev. Bob Shambles officiating. Burial will follow at Roundmound Cemetery near Cedar Vale, Kan. at 3:00 p.m.
Services are entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home, 107 S. Broadway, Grove, Okla. 74344, 918-786-5172.

JESSIE MAE HARLEY GRAY
1926-2005
GROVE, Okla. - Jessie Mae Harley Gray, 78, of Grove, Okla., died at 3 p.m., Thursday, February 3, 2005 at her home. She had been in failing health the past four months.
She was born on October 15, 1926 in Cassville, Mo. to Franklin Theodore and Delilah Frances (Knee) Turner. She grew up in Cassville and has lived in Parsons, Kan., McCune, Kan., and Grove, Okla.
On July 23, 1951, she married John A. Harley in Des Moines, Iowa. He preceded her in death on October 27, 1977. She later married Oren Gray of Grove, Okla. and they had been together for 23 years.
She worked as a hairdresser in Weir, Kan. and in the early 1970’s worked for a number of years at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons.
Mrs. Gray attended the Believers Full Gospel Fellowship of Washburn, Mo.
Survivors include: husband, Oren Gray of the home in Grove, Okla.; three daughters, Diane Schall of Frontenac, Kan., Sue Kern of Edgemont, S.D., and Brenda Smith of Grove, Okla.; Two sons, John England of Tulsa, Okla. and Maurice Harley of Girard, Kan.; one sister, Mary Rose of Grove, Okla.; eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, Helen Wilkinson and Dorothy Barg; four brothers, Lester Turner, Richard Turner, Raymond Turner, and Tom Turner; and a granddaughter, Melissa (Harley) Augustson.
Friends are invited to visit the family on Friday, February 4, 2005 at the home of Maurice Harley, 315 So. Summit, in Girard, Kan.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2005 at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard, Kan. with Pastor Doug Kreighbaum of Covenant Harvest Church in Pittsburg officiating. Burial will follow in the McCune Cemetery in McCune, Kan.
Memorials are suggested to the Good Shepherd Hospice, 2100 So. Main, Suite 2086, Grove, Okla. 74344.
The Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home of Girard is in charge of arrangements.

MABEL QUEEN OWEN HANSON
1910-2005
GROVE, Okla. - Mabel Queen Owen Hanson departed this life on January 29, 2005 at Grove, Okla. She was 94 years old.
Mabel was born on July 1, 1910 at the Queen family farm near Mutual, in Woodward County, Okla. to Alvin Moxley and Lula Ellen Jividen Queen. She was named Alice Mabel at birth, and was later known as Mabel A.
Mabel married Raymond Earl Owen on May 1, 1927. Raymond and Mabel lived and worked in Woodward, Buffalo, Mooreland, and Vici, and Okla., finally settling in Woodward where their three sons; Loyd, Billy, and Jack were born.
The family later moved to Guymon and then to Claremore, Okla. where Mabel and Raymond retired from their food service business to a farm near Gravette, Ark., and later to a farm near Noel, Mo. They finally moved to Hough’s Acres, northeast of Grove, where in 1978, Raymond died.
On February 11, 1985, Fred Greenlee Hanson and Mabel A. Owen were married. They lived at the Hough’s Acres residence until April, 1996 and after that at Grand Lake Villa, Grove, Okla.
Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Lulu Queen; her husband, Ray mond; her husband, Fred; her brothers; Perry, Geordia, and Alva Queen; her sister, Lucille McClellan; and her son, Billy.
Survivors include: two sons, ten grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Mabel was a member of the Elk River Baptist Church. She is interred at the Olympus Cemetery, Grove, Okla.

PAUL VIRGIL ALLEN
1961-2005
TULSA, Okla. - Paul Virgil Allen, 43 year-old resident of Tulsa, formerly of Langley, died Tues., Feb. 1 at his home in Tulsa. He was born April 7, 1961 in Colorado Springs, Colo. to John V. Allen and Martha Alliene (Phillips) Allen. Paul was a graduate of Jay High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1980 to 1983. He worked as a carpenter until his illness forced him to retire.
The family includes: his mother Alliene Padgett of Krebs, his father John V. Allen of Disney, step-grandmother, Reva Scott of Vinita; one son Adam Allen; eight brothers and sisters, David Allen of Tulsa, Carolyn Karr and husband John of Tulsa, Pamala Senter and husband Jack of Pass Christian, Miss., Leona Burns of Jay, Toney Lee Allen and wife Christina of Commerce, John S. Allen of Tiajuana, Margaret Baker of Tulsa, Richard Allen and wife Lanie of Cleora; half-brothers, Earl Leonard Padgett and wife Lisa of Krebs, Sammy Ray Padgett and wife Myrtle of McAlester, and Glenn Dale Padgett and wife Monica of Wilburton.
He was preceded in death by his step-mother Constance Louise (Connie) Allen, and a sister, Barbara Ann Allen.
Graveside services were held Sat., Feb. 5 in the Palestine Cemetery, near Quinton, Okla. with Pastor Justin Turner officiating.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home, Langley.

LENORA JEAN ROGERS
1933 - 2005
SPAVINAW, Okla. - Funeral services for Lenora Jean Rogers, 71, Spavinaw, were held Fri., Feb. 4 at the Landmark Holiness Church, Eucha, Okla. Brother Floyd Parks and Brother O.B. Carlton officiated and burial followed at Eucha Cemetery.
Mrs. Rogers was born Oct. 2, 1933 in Jay. She passed away Feb. 1, in Spavinaw.
Lenora had lived in Spavinaw for the last 52 years. She attended Jay Public Schools, graduated from Jay High School. She then attended Northeastern State University and received her Masters Degree in Elementary Education. Lenora had taught both at Strang and Eucha Schools prior to their closing. After which she began teaching at Adair and was there for about 22 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Landmark Holiness Church in Eucha. Lenora married Ray Rogers on Oct. 12, 1951 in Bentonville, Ark. Lenora enjoyed gardening, embroidery, traveling and fishing. Her family was very important and she enjoyed Sundays when all her family came to her house for dinner.
She is survived by husband Ray of the home, son Michael Rogers and wife Nading of Spavinaw, 2 daughters Marilyn Gullett and husband Larry of Eucha, Doris Lyons of Joplin, Mo., 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 brother Sherman Buzzard of Eucha, 3 sisters, Mary Lou Davis of Miami, Juanita Hampton of Claremore, Joyce Mead of Vinita. She was preceded in death by her parents Sherman and Myrtle (McRae) Buzzard, 1 son, Donald Eugene.

JENNALEA G. COLLINS
1937-2005
JAY, Okla. - Jennalea G. Collins, 67 year old Jay, Okla. resident, entered into heaven peacefully on Monday, January 31, 2005 at her home in Jay of natural causes.
Jennalea was born Mach 4, 1937 in Delaware County, Okla. to Grover Callis and Eunice (Kincaid) Callis on their family ranch. She was raised on the ranch and graduated from Jay High School in 1955. She was former owner of Novus Windshield Repair.
In April of 1958 she married Clarence Edward Collins in Vinita, Okla. Teh family moved to Wyoming in 1959. In addition to raising her family, she was active in the community of Gillette, Wyo. For years, she enjoyed participating with her children and husband in Demolay, jobs, daughters, and Eastern Star activities.
Together with her husband, they established Collins Communications and Collins Heights Sub-Division in Gillette. The couple later divorced.
From 1979 to 1992 she worked as a secretery for Campbell County Fire Department. After retirement, she moved to Grove, Okla. and was an owner of Novus Windshield Repair Sevice.
Jennalea enjoyed the mountains, traveling, reading, playing cards, dancing, and laughing with friends. Lea enjoyed spontaneity and had the most joyous laugh of anyone you could ever be blessed to know.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son; Mitchell Collins; two brothers, Clifton Callis of Jay, Okla., and Benjamin Callis, and one half-brother, Lester Callis.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Chapel in Jay, Okla.
Visistation will be on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Chapel in Jay. Interment will be at Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette, Wyo. at a later date.
Survivors include: two sons, Dave Collins of Dubach, La., Mark Collins and wife, Shelly Edwards of Gillette, Wyo.; one sister, Katherine England and husband, Calvin of Jay, Okla.; and one half-brother, Arkie Callis of Idaho and many treasured friends.

HAZEL MILDRED (BETTS) EPPERSON
1906-2005
GROVE, Okla.- Hazel Mildred (Betts) Epperson, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2005 at Grove, Okla. at the age of 98 years, 1 month, and 25 days.
Hazel was born to Ollie & William Betts on December 5, 1906 in McDonald County, Mo. She was united in marriage to Grayden Love Epperson on June 6, 1928. He preceded her in death in August 1986. A homemaker, she was a loving mother and grandmother.
Survivors include: three sons and two daughters; Bob and wife, Betty of Grove, Roy of Grove, George and wife, Jean of Saltillo, Miss., Annabelle and husband, Dale Kirby of Grove, and Jadeen and husband, Ralph Osborn of Bristow, Okla.; two grandsons, Greg Epperson and Kevin Kirby of Grove; three granddaughters, Diane Cave of Stillwater, Okla., Rachelle Lawson of Southwest City, Mo., Sydney Thompson of Bristow; two great grandsons, seven great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, and two grandsons.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Guy Morrow officiating. Burial will follow at Peace Valley Cemetery in Anderson, Mo.
Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Okla.
