MARIE CORNSHUCKER
1949-2005
Marie Cornshucker, 56 of Clouds Creek, passed away early Wednesday morning, July 27, 2005 at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa. Marie was bron on Febryary 11, 1949 in Delaware County to Richard and Emma (Proctor) Soldier, Sr.
Marie was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She lived all her life in the Clouds Creek and Jay area. Marie was a member of the Brush Creek Church in Jay.
Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Tony Cornshucker of the home. Children; Jennifer Caotney and husband Roy, Jr. of Jay, Marcus Cornshucker and wife Claudia of Gentry, Arkansas, Jason cornshucker of Clouds Creek. Six grandchildren, three brothers; Richard Soldier Jr., and wife Nancy of Jay, Andrew Proctor of Jay. One uncle, Andrew Mouse of South Carolina and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Maire was preceded in death by both her parents and one son.
The family will gather at Turner Funeral Chapel in Jay on Thursday evening from 8to 9 p.m. to receive family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 29, 2005 at the Brush Creek Church with Pastor Larry Pritchett officiating. Burial is to follow at Round Springs Cemetary. Servinc as caskey bearers will be Roy Coatney III, Tyler Coatney, Sequoyah Pritchett, Krovcota Pritchett, Johnny Robinson, and Ernesto Cortez.
Services are entrusted to Turner Funeral Chapels of Jay.

HAZEL CHEWEY
1951-2005
Hazel Chewey, 54 year old Colcord resident, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2005 near Oaks, Oklahoma from injuries sustainged in an automobile accident. Hazel was born March 16, 1951 in Delaware County, Oklahoma to Dodge Davis and Smantie (Cornshucker) Davis. She attended Colcord High School. Hazel worked as a home health provider and also worked for Simmons.
Hazel was united in marriage to Mitchell Chewey on October 27, 1978 in Miami, Oklahoma.
Surviving family members include: her husband; Mitchell of the home, one daughter; Melissa Loco of Kansas, OK, three sons; Raymond Davis of Colcord, OK, Marsha Meigs of Decatur, Arkansas, Sherry Wakefield of Southwest City, MO, five brothers; Earl Davis of Kenwood, OK, LeRoy Davis of Gentry, Arkansas, Keith Davis of Kansas, OK, Mark Davis of Colcord, OK, Jerry Davis of Westville, OK, and ten grandchildren.
She was preceeded in death by her parents and two sisters; Louise Jones and Sue Francis Owens.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday july 28, 2005 at the Turner Funeral Chapel in Jay, OK.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, July 29, 2005 at the Colcord Community Center. Richard Soldier and Jess Williams will officiate.
Interment will be in Old Clouds Creek Cemetary.
Services are entrusted to Turner Funeral Chapel of Jay, OK.

CAROLINE SUE AUSTIN
1938-2005
MIAMI, Okla. - Caroline Sue Austin of Miami, Okla., died Wednesday October 26, 2005 at the Nine Tribes Towers in Miami at the age of 67.
Caroline was born January 24, 1938 to John and Levena (Davis) Lundy at Miami, Ok. She was the widow of Bob Austin. Caroline was a lifetime resident of Miami. She enjoyed to knit, fish, make arts and crafts, and she loved her dogs and grandchildren.
Survivors include four children, Dale Livingston, Viki Christian, Donna Bartley, and Tommy Jean Livingston; one sister, Barbara Lundy; one brother, Tommy Lundy; nine grandchildren, Amber, Jessica, Shane, Tracy, Tonya, R.J., Anna, Christina, and Jonathan; and eight great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday November 1, 2005 at the Eucha Cemetery, Eucha, Okla. Services under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Okla.

ROBERT LEON CARROLL
1949-2005
FORT SMITH, Ark. - Robert Leon Carroll 56 years old, a Fort Smith, Arkansas resident, passed away Thursday morning October 27, 2005 at the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center.
Robert was born March 12, 1949 in Pawnee Oklahoma to Robert Leon Carroll and Lois (Martin) Carroll. He joined the U.S. Army in 1968 and received the Vietnam Service Medal with one Silver Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, two Overseas Bars, National Defense Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Marksman and Sharpshooter Medals. He achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant before leaving the service in 1976. He was a truck driver, driving for several companies including Eads Brothers Trucking.
He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his son Ronald Wayne Carroll of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; his sister Deborah Champlin of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Sheryl Hignite of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Rita Didion of Ft. Smith, Arkansas.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1st 2005 at Fairview Cemetery, Vinita Oklahoma with the Grove Military Ritual Team presiding.
Arrangements are by the Burckhalter Funeral Home of Vinita, Oklahoma.

JAMES D. “JIM” EBERHART
1940-2005
AFTON, Okla. - James D. “Jim” Eberhart, 65, of Afton, Oklahoma, a former longtime resident of Parsons, died at 5:40 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2005, at his home. Death followed a brief illness.
He was born May 7, 1940 in rural Erie, Kansas, to Robert H. and Olive (Gilleland) Eberhart. He grew up and attended schools in the rural Stark area. After graduating from Grant High School at Stark, Kansas in 1958, he worked in the oil fields near Pratt and farmed near Kingman, Kansas.
He and Margarette Richard were married December 31, 1960 in Walnut, Kansas. Following their marriage, they lived in Kingman until moving to Parsons in 1963. She preceded him in death June 8, 2001.
After moving to Parsons, he worked at the former Joe’s Conoco Station for several years and then was employed with Dayton-Superior as a machine operator for over 38 years. In October 2004, he retired and moved to Grand Lake, where he had lived since.
He was an active member of the Machinist’s Union and had been instrumental in helping form the union at Dayton-Superior. He enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include: One Son – Bobby Eberhart and his wife, Lori of Altamont; Three Daughters, Debbie Eberhart of Kansas City, Kansas, Janis Shaffer-Geier and her husband, Jack Geier of Girard, Katie Salsbury and her husband, Jeremy of Webb City, MO; Eight Grandchildren, Justin Eberhart and his wife, Kira, Cole Carnal, Jonathan Shaffer, Jamie Shaffer, Joel Eberhart, Kacie Eberhart, Carter Salsbury, and Maggie Salsbury; One Great-Grandson, Colton Chapman; Two Step-Grandchildren, Trisha Geier and Jace Geier; and One Sister, Sharon Eberhart of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2005, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons, with Pastor Matt Derfelt officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m., Tuesday. Memorials are suggested to either the Babe Ruth Baseball Fund or the Regency Hospice in Miami, Oklahoma. These may be left at or mailed to the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, 405 Main, Parsons, KS 67357. EDWARD LORAINE LAYMON
1927 - 2005
SOUTHWEST CITY, Mo. - Mr. Edward Loraine "Ed" Laymon, 77 years, of Southwest City, Missouri departed this life on Friday, October 28, 2005 in the Grove General Hospital in Grove, Oklahoma after a courageous battle with cancer.
Ed was born December 17, 1927 in El Dorado, Kansas son of the late Ted and Ruby (Throckmorton) Laymon. Ed overcame great obstacles as a child; he suffered with Polio and was confined to a wheelchair until the age of twelve. Ed worked several years as the Carpenter Shop Foreman at the Port of Portland shipyards in Portland, Oregon. He retired from the Local Carpenters Union in Portland, Oregon in 1978 and moved to Grove, Oklahoma. On November 27, 1983 in Sherman, Texas he was united in marriage to Rosezell Tuttle and together they shared the last twenty-one years. Ed was very community minded and enjoyed serving on various committees. He helped develop the Volunteer Income Tax Service, an agency that help the elderly file their taxes. Ed also served two terms as representative and one term as sate senator in the Oklahoma state Silver Haired Legislature. Ed retained a close walk with his Lord and Savior and was a member of the Greenwood Church near Southwest City, Missouri serving as church administrator. For the last several years he was very active in the jail ministry going every other Saturday to share songs of praise with the inmates. Ed loved his family immensely and greatly enjoyed being a professional Grandpa.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Joyce Laymon; and three brothers, Jerry, Clinton, and Max Laymon.
Ed is survived by his wife Rosezell Laymon of the home; six sons, Alvin Laymon and wife, Cindy, of the state of Iowa, Mark Laymon and wife, Jerri, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Ted Laymon and wife, Tracy, of Afton, Oklahoma, Mike Clutter of Anderson, Missouri, Aaron Hathcock of Adair, Oklahoma, and Jordan Hathcock of Southwest City, Missouri; nine daughters, Edna Mackey and husband, John, of Fort Worth, Texas, Loretta Jenkins and husband, Dennis, of the state of Oklahoma, Marcy Barnett of Grove, Oklahoma, Jeannie Dry and husband, J.D., of Jay, Oklahoma, Terry Laymon of Spokane, Washington, Joan Knox of Miami, Oklahoma, Lillian Casey and husband, John, of Grove, Oklahoma, Sandy Mitchell of Miami, Oklahoma, and Neontha Lapping of the state of Hawaii; eighty-nine grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Jim Laymon of Miami, Oklahoma; two sisters, Katherine Gates of Kingman, Arizona, and Sharon Ray of the state of Kansas; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Edward L. Laymon were 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2005 in the Cornerstone Church near Southwest City, Missouri with Bro. Ralph Houk officiating. Burial was in the Union Cemetery near Stella, Missouri. Mark Laymon, John Turner, John Casey, Ted Laymon, Mike Clutter, and Steven Turner honored Ed's life by serving as pallbearers. The family received friends on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 p.m. in the Ozark Funeral Home Chapel in Southwest City, Missouri. Online condolences may be sent to the website of www.ozarkfuneralhome.com. MILDRED ONITA “MICKEY” LONG
1924-2005
SOUTHWEST CITY, Mo. - Mildred Onita “Mickey” Long, 81, Retired Cashier & Food Demonstrator, Sam’s Club and Wal-Mart Stores, Wichita, Kan. passed away Sunday in a Jay, Okla. nursing home.
She was born October 16, 1924 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to Wallace and Nettie Bittle.
“Mickey” moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1960 from Decatur, Arkansas where she had been a Grocery Clerk for Sesters Grocery for several years. In 2002 , she moved to Southwest City, Missouri to be with her Sister, Opal Roland.
Family and friends knew her well for her avid interest in hand quilting, sewing, reading, cooking, immaculate housekeeping and her love for gardening. She had maintained a large garden at her home in Wichita. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Noel, Missouri.
Surviving family members include: Son, Ron Neal and wife Rhonda of Jay, OK, Sister, Opal Roland of Anderson, MO. and Granddaughter, Katie Neal of Jay, OK. and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband C.B. Long, Brothers Bill, Harold, Glen & Jack Bittle.
Graveside Services will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at the Polson Cemetery, Grove, Oklahoma, with Mr. Richard Lett of Noel Church of Christ, officiating.

HALLIE REBECCA McCLUSKY
1912-2005
JAY, Okla. - Hallie Rebecca McClusky of Jay died Thursday October 27, 2005 at the Monroe Manor in Jay at the age of 93.
Mrs. McClusky was born May 15, 1912 to Allen and Maudie (Sessor) Spencer in Missouri. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and a member of the Nazarene Church. She married Harvey McCLusky at Pineville, Mo. In 1937, he preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two step-daughters, Ruby Howell of Broken Arrow, Ok. and Carol Lastey of Kirtland, NM. And one nephew.
Graveside services were 2:00 PM Monday October 31, 2005 at the Mt. Hermon Cemetery in Jay.
Services were under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay.

LYNDA A. WEBSTER-RILEY
1945-2005
COLCORD, Okla. - Lynda A. Webster-Riley, 60, was born Sept. 14, 1945 in Louisville, KY, the daughter of George H. and Vivian J. McDonald Webster and died Oct. 27, 2005 at her residence.
She was united in marriage to Larry David Riley March 18, 1996 in Pineville, MO. and he preceded her in death Oct. 27, 2005. Lynda was a homemaker and was a member of the West Siloam Springs Assembly of God.
Survivors include her children, Harold Nunley and his wife Sharon of Fayetteville, AR, Melissa Nunley and her husband Troy of Jay, OK., Angela Harcus and her husband Daniel of Siloam Springs, AR., Anna Huff and her husband Don of Marysville, CA., Elizabeth Hess and her husband Vance of Olivehurst, CA., four step-children, Harold Staneart of Phoenix, AZ., Diane Nunley of Lincoln, AR., Barbara Webster of Jacksonville, FL., and Shirley Crick of Charlestown, IN., her brothers and sisters, Robert Webster of Jacksonville, FL. ,Kathy Greenrock of Jay, OK., David Webster of Missouri, Steven Webster of Jacksonville, FL., and Amy Denny of Gentry, AR. There are 21 grandchildren and, 6 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ellis Staneart April 3, 1995.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, 10:00 AM at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel, Jay, OK. with Rev. John Butts officiating. Interment will follow in the Row Cemetery in Colcord, OK. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, OK.
