GARY CARNEY
1944-2006
GROVE, Okla. – Gary Carney, 61, died Monday, January 9, 2006 at Integris Grove General Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 12, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church in Grove with Rev. Randy Hamill officiating. Burial will be in Ft. Gibson National Cemetery, Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday at Ellis Funeral Home, Grove.
Gary Carney was born on July 20, 1944 in Dallas, Texas to Francis and Bessie (Bogard) Carney. He graduated from Blackwell High School in 1962 and received his Bachelors Degree from Wichita State University. Gary obtained his Masters Degree in Liberal Studies from the University of Oklahoma. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam era. Gary worked for Texaco Oil Co. for twenty-five years as a Senior Crew Representative. He previously worked for Boeing and DX/Sunray in Wichita.
Gary was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Grove, the Oklahoma Archeology Society, the Oklahoma independent Petroleum Association, the VFW and the American Legion. Gary lived in Belle Plain, Kansas, Mulvane, Kansas, Sapulpa, Oklahoma and Oklahoma City before moving to Grove two years ago.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Carney of Grove; one son, David Carney of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Cyndi Kingfisher and husband, Ronnie of Wyandotte, Ok; one granddaughter, Kyah Kingfisher of Wyandotte; two sisters, Frances Shoffner and husband, Wayne of Braman, Ok. and Barbara Tabor and husband Jack of Edmond, Ok; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services are entrusted to Ellis Funeral Home, 107 S. Broadway, Grove, Ok. 74344, 918-786-5172.

JIM A. CARSON
1942-2006
VINITA, Okla. - Jim A. Carson, 63 former Vinita resident passed away early Wednesday morning January 11, 2006 at his residence in Claremore after an extended illness. Jim was born on July 31, 1942 in Hemet, California to Albert H. and Marie (Fawcett) Carson.
Jim worked at Eaton Corporation in the shipping and receiving department. Before his illness Jim liked to cook. And later his enjoyed watching cooking shows. Jim served his country in the United State Navy from November 1959 to July 1963. On December 5, 1963 Jim was united in marriage to Mary R. Scott in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Jim leaves as surviving his wife Mary Carson of the home. Son and daughter-in-law Danny Carson and Tracy of Vinita, son and daughter-in-law Jeff Carson and Micah of Joplin, MO., daughter and son-in-law Debbie Wolfe and Corey of Claremore. Eight grandchildren Kirk, Chelsea, Kallee, Noah, Branna, Chris, Brooklyn and Kami. One brother Herb Carson of Ohio. One sister and brother-in-law Sybil Maxwell and Jim of Texas.
His mother Marie Perry, father Albert Carson, Brother Joe Carson and Sister Lola Mae Carson preceded Jim in death.
The family will gather at Burckhalter Funeral Home on Thursday evening to receive friends and relatives from 6 to 7 p.m.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 13, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Vinita with Pastor Skip McClain officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home of Vinita.

MINNIA OPAL COBB
1910-2006
MIAMI, Okla. - Minnia Opal Cobb of Miami died at 9:45 p.m., Tuesday January 17, 2006 at the Miami Nursing Center after an illness. She was 95.
Mrs. Cobb was born August 18, 1910 to James Arthur Creswell and Lola Elizabeth May Creswell in Abilene, Texas.
After graduating from Okmulgee, Oklahoma High School she married Henry Clay Cobb in Okmulgee on August 28, 1932. He preceded her in death on July 8, 2003.
They moved to Tulsa during was where Henry was a flight instructor at Spartan School of Aerodynamics. In 1943 they were transferred to the Miami Spartan Training program.
Opal opened a private Kindergarten in her home for 22 years.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was choir member for many years. She was a Volunteer with the Grey Ladies and the American Red Cross. She was also a member of the Miami Evening Lioness Club.
She was an avid China Painter and a member of the local and state federations.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband Sue and Delmer Barnes, of Miami, a son and his wife, Jim and Judy Cobb of Miami. Four Grandchildren Renee Barnes O’Dell, Ozark, MO., Ken and Julie Barnes, Springfield, MO., James Cobb Whaley and Beau Whaley, Justin Shelby and Grace of Houston, Texas, Elise Davison Reiland and Mike Reiland, Cade and Micayla, San Antonio, TX., a sister Mrs. Jewel Henson, Edwards, MO. and several nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death her husband, a daughter Patricia Cobb Davison, a grandson, a brother, and both parents.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday at the G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, Oklahoma with the Rev. Bill Richey officiating. Burial will be under the direction of the Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home of Miami.
The family suggests memorials to the First United Methodist Church in memory of Mrs. Cobb.

ALINE DAVIS
1928-2006
JAY - Aline Davis of Jay, Okla. died Sunday, January 29, 2006 at her home. She was 77.
Aline was born March 5, 1928 to Elmer and Elsie Andrews at Row, Okla. She worked as a Dietician at the Gravette Hospital in Gravette, Ark. She married Roy Davis September 8, 1943. He preceded her in death in 1976.
Survivors include three children: Kenneth Davis of Oklahoma City, Okla.; Patricia Leeth of Newalla, Okla.; and Steve Davis of Gentry, Ark.; along with seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday February 2, at the Mt. Hermon Church in Jay with Pastor James Bryant officiating. Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay. Interment will follow at the Maysville Cemetery in Maysville, Ark.

LONNIE DALE FISHER
1950-2006
DISNEY, Okla. – Lonnie Dale Fisher, 55, of Disney, passed away late Sunday night, January 1, at St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa, Okla. Lonnie was born on February 12, 1950, in Vinita, Okla., to Albert and Millie (Sparks) Fisher.
Lonnie was a carpenter, and loved working in his wood shop and spending time with his family. On April 12, 1994, Lonnie was united in marriage to Sharon S. Marshall.
Lonnie leaves as surviving: his wife, Sharon, of the home; children, Gus Fisher and wife Angel, of Jay, Gary Tuggle of Tulsa, Shelly Rogers and husband, Rick, of Peggs, Okla., Alicia Hasting of Adair, Okla., Janette Leaf and husband Paul of Salina, Okla., and Christy Rutter of Claremore, Okla.; 11 grandchildren, Stephanie, Rachelle, Amy, Nichole, Natalie, Natasha, Nesha, Brittney, Cole, Bailey, Weaver, Eli and Kalin; one great grandchild, Riley James Dale; brothers, Short Fisher and wife, Donna of Disney, Bob Fisher and wife Jean of Orlando, Fla.; three nieces and four nephews.
Lonnie was preceded in death by both of his parents.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2006, at 2 p.m., at Military Cemetery in Langley, Okla., with Bro. Tommy Hopper officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Keith Condray, Kenny Branstetter, Stewart Jeffers, Larry Schaller, Mike Martin and Jeff Weaver. Honorary bearer is Leroy Branstetter.
Services are entrusted to Turner Funeral Chapels of Langley.

THOMAS OWEN GARNER
1919-2006
GROVE, Okla. - Thomas Owen Garner of Grove, Okla. died Thursday January 12, 2006 at the Integris Grove General Hospital at the age of 86.
Thomas was born June 18, 1919 to Oscar and Mary (Crawford) Garner in Delaware County, Okla. Thomas attended school at Drumright, Okla. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. He married Lillie Loreen Garner November 12, 1938 at Shawnee, Okla. He drove a truck for Dresser Engineering in Tulsa for over 31 years. Thomas enjoyed fishing, going to livestock shows and ballgames with his grandchildren.
Survivors include: his wife Loreen of Grove. One daughter: Brenda JoAnn Houston of Grove. One sister Katheryn Wathen of Lawton, Okla. Three grandchildren: Shane Johnson and wife Carolyn, Sheldon Johnson and Glenna Lennon. Three great grandchildren: Ross Hanes, Kyle Johnson, Jackie Morgan. Two great-great grandchildren: Hailey Morgan and Rilley Hanes.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday January 16, 2006 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove. Interment will follow at the Olympus Cemetery in Grove. Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

FRANCES O. GIBSON
1908-2006
VINITA, Okla. - Frances O. Gibson, 97 of Vinita passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at Rosewood Terrace Nursing Center. Frances was born on September 4, 1908 in Centralia, Missouri to John L. and Hattie B. (Trausher) Skaggs.
Frances was a homemaker and office manager with Jones Chemical Company of Henderson, Nevada. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Grove and the Eastern Star of Jay, Oklahoma.
Survivors include her daughter Patricia A. Watson and husband Herbert of Banning, California, three grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter Gibson and her step-son James Gibson.
Private family services were held at Buzzard cemeteryin Grove, Oklahoma with Dr. Lee Hilliard officiating. Arrangements were by the Burckhalter Funeral Home of Vinita.

ROSALIE ANNE GOINS
1941 – 2006
JAY - Rosalie Anne Goins, 64-year old Jay, Okla., resident, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at her home following an extended illness.
Rosalie was born July 1, 1941 in Enid, Okla., to Fred and Phyllis (Schaffer) McWilliams. Rosalie worked as a hairdresser for 16 years in Collinsville, Okla., and also was a cafeteria cook at the Collinsville Middle School. She also owned and operated the Green Country Store in Eucha in 1974 and 1975. She was a member of the Faith Mission Church.
Rosalie was united in marriage to Ronald Keith Goins on September 8, 2003 in Miami, Okla.
Surviving family members include: her husband, Ronald of the home; one daughter, Teresa Lynn O’Brien and husband Butch of Eureka Springs, Ark., two sons, Robert Stacks of Kansas, Okla. and Ronnie Stacks and wife Debbie of Watts, Okla.; two sisters, Charlotte Patrick and husband James of Zena, Okla. and Maralie Studie of Collinsville; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and first husband James R. Stacks.
Funeral services will held at 10 a.m., Friday, February 3, at the Faith Mission Church in Jay. Rev. Chester Crittenden will officiate. Interment will be in Hilderbrand Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, February 2, at the Turner Funeral Chapel in Jay.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be make to the Faith Mission Church Building Fund.
Services are entrusted to Turner Funeral Chapel of Jay.
