GEORGE LEVI GRAY
1924-2006
JAY. Okla. - George Levi Gray, 81, died Jan. 13, 2006 at Integris Grove General Hospital. Graveside services will be Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006, 2 p.m. at the Butler Cemetery with Rev. Dolphus Blevins officiating. Friends may call at the Ellis Funeral Home, 107 S. Broadway, Grove, OK. Memorial contributions may be made to the Butler Baptist Church in care of Ellis Funeral Home.
George was born March 22, 1924 at Kellyville, OK, the son of Wayne and Dollie Byrd Gray. He was united in marriage to Juanita Jewel Nelson Nov. 23, 1946 in Columbus, KS. Mr. Gray was a farmer and was also employed by Tom Carroll Sale Barns and Livestock Auctions. Mr. Gray was a veteran of WW II serving in the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force, Mr. Gray was stationed in Iceland.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Jewel Gray of the home, son, Tommy Gray and wife Janey Pearl of the Butler area, daughter, Jeanie Lee McCoin and her husband Lewis of Grove, sisters, Lorene Thompson of Jay, OK, Naydean Craig of Jay, OK, Mary Hampton of Tiajuana, OK and Carole Warren of Banger, OK. There are five grandchildren, Jeremy Law, Melissa Ellis, Tomi Sue Bottoms, Kevin McCoin and Brian McCoin. Numerous great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by a son, George Edward in 1961 and by three brothers, Roy Lee Gray, Wayne E. Gray and Troy Lee Gray.
Services are entrusted to the Ellis Funeral Home, 107 S. Broadway, Grove, OK. 918-786-5172.

LEE AUGUST GRUNEWALD
1915-2006
MIAMI, Okla. – Lee August Grunewald, 91, of Miami, died Friday, January 13, 2006.
He retired in 1978 after 32 years as a tire builder with B.F. Goodrich in Miami.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, January 16, at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home Chapel in Miami.
Burial was in G.A.R. Cemetery, Miami.

TRAVIS LEE HALE
1982-2005
VINITA, Okla. - Travis Lee Hale, 23 of Vinita passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin. Travis was born on July 20, 1982 in Vinita to Roy J. and Patricia (Simpson) Hale.
Travis was an exterminator with Pratt Pest Control. He loved fishing, playing video games and spending time with his son. Travis was looking forward to the birth of his daughter.
Travis leaves as surviving his wife Ursula D. Buckallew-Hale and son Darren Lee Hale of the home. Mother Patty Grissom of Vinita, Father Roy J. Hale of Vinita. Grandparents; Calvin and Ruth Simpson of Vinita. Sister Lesa R. Hale of Vinita. Two brothers Chris W. Hale of El Paso, TX., Shawn M. Hale of Vinita. Aunts; Janell Rhodes and husband Carl, Pauline Jerger and husband Fred, Dorothy Epperson and Mary Hale. Uncles; Howard Simpson and wife Carolyn, Jess Hale and wife Jane, Richard Hale, Utah Hale and wife Loretta. Mother-in-law Linda G. Martin of Afton, Father-in-law John E. Buckallew of Afton. Brother-in-law Charlie T. Selsor and wife Dawn. Sister-in-law Charlotta Wyrick and husband Benjamin. Six nephews Austin, Andrew, Aaron, A.J., Daley and Cody.
Travis was preceded in death by his grandfather Ted Hale and grandmother Iva Cook Hale.
The family will gather at Burckhalter Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to receive friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 30, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Burckhalter Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bobby Whitchurch officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Kevin Hale, Justin Hale, Sam Azarian, Charlie Selsor, Tim Mock and Josh Carlton. Burial is to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Vinita.
Arrangements are under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home of Vinita.

HAZEL CLARA HALL
1920-2006
FAIRLAND, Okla. - Hazel Clara Hall of Fairland died at 10:40 p.m., Wednesday January 11, 2006 at the Integris Grove General Hospital after a long illness. She was 85.
Mrs. Hall was born August 22, 1920 at Sarcoxie, MO. to Virgil Irl and Clara Florence (Chandler) Scroggs. She moved to Fairland from Sarcoxie, Missouri in 1937. She graduated from the Fairland High School with the class of 1938, and later obtained her nursing certificate from the Northeastern A&M College nursing program in 1969.
In January of 1939 she married Wix P. Hall, Jr. of rural Fairland at Columbus, Kansas he preceded her in death on March 27, 1964, at Fairland.
Survivors include two daughters Jean Grunden, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Kay Loehr, of Seneca, MO. two sons, Pat Hall of Livingston, Texas, and Ken Hall of Porum, Oklahoma, a sister Mrs. Erlyeen Hall of Fairland, Oklahoma, 9 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wix P. Hall, Jr., a daughter Beverly Hall Warren, a grandson Garrett Loehr, two sisters, and a brother.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday at the First United Methodist Church of Fairland. Burial will follow in the Hickory Grove Cemetery under the direction of the Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home of Fairland.
The family will receive friends at the Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home, Fairland from 6 until 8 p.m., Friday January 13, 2006. Memorial Contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association and may be sent in care of the funeral home.

LOU EDNA GRAHAM
1927-2006
TURLEY, Okla. – Funeral services for Lou Edna Graham, 78, of Turley, were Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at the Freewill Baptist Church in Dawson, Okla., with Pastor Max Campbell officiating.
Interment at Resthaven Cemetery was under the direction of Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home. Casket bearers for the service were Carl Dean Williams, Wes Williams, Sean Miller, Jason Miller, Danny Brown and Ron Obermaier. Musical selections for the service were “Amazing Grace,” congregational hymn “God On The Mountain,” Sondra Melton vocalist, “Precious Memories” Matthew Leach vocalist, Sondra Melton, organist and Barbara Webster pianist.
Lou passed away on March 31, at Maplewood Care Center in Tulsa, Okla. She was born on June 12, 1927, in Zena, Okla., to John Jacob and Ella (Edwards) Swogger. Lou married Clyde J. Graham on June 12, 1954 in Jay, Okla. He preceded her in death on September 7, 1983. Lou enjoyed spending time working with ceramics. She was a resident of Turley for 40 years.
Lou is survived by two daughters, Ruth Miller and husband John of Tulsa and Mary Lou Brown and husband, Corky of Broken Arrow, Okla.; daughter-in-law Sharan Williams of Chelsea, Okla.; a stepson Jerry Wayne Graham of California; and two stepdaughters, Clydene Wright of California and Judy Graham of Catoosa, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; two sisters, Juanita Brixey and Peggy Tanner, both of Zena; two brothers, Doyle Swogger of Longview, Wash., and Buck Swogger of Zena; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Johnny Lee Williams, one sister and five brothers.

DOYLE K. LYNN
1931-2006
AFTON – Doyle K. Lynn, retired veteran, died at his home in Afton, Okla., last week, after an illness. He was 75.
He was born February 21, 1931, at Manchester, Tenn., to Sam and Elsie (Cawthorm) Lynn. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1948 and served until 1969, serving in both Korea and Vietnam. He married Cuba Hemmer in 1975 and they made their home in Bernice, where he was a member of the Wayside Bible Church. She preceded him in 1999. He is survived by one sister, Alta Geiger, of Sugar Grove, Ohio.
Graveside services were held on Monday, April 3, at Ballard Cemetery in Grove with Charles Richard Muckey officiating.
Arrangements were provided by Adcock Funeral Home in Afton.

KENNETH CHARLES NOWLIN
1956 –2006
BEAUMONT - Kenneth Charles Nowlin, 49-year old Beaumont, Texas resident passed away Thursday, March 30, 2006 in Beaumont, following an extended illness.
Kenneth was born August 30, 1956 in Tulsa, Okla. to Charles William Nowlin and Lois Dean (Morris) Nowlin. He was a retired electrician.
Surviving family members include: one son, Matthew Nowlin of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a half brother, Howe Cauthron of Bethany, Okla.; an aunt, Jean Baldwin of Tulsa; and several cousins.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 4, at the Turner Funeral Chapel in Jay, Okla. Dr. Hess Hester officiated. Interment was in Zena Cemetery.
Services were entrusted to Turner Funeral Chapel of Jay.

MILDRED RUTH PARKER
1921–2006
WYANDOTTE - Mildred Ruth Parker, 84-year old Wyandotte, Okla. resident, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at her home following an extended illness.
Ruth was born August 7, 1921 in El Paso, Texas to Carl Reeves and Dale (Meeks) Reeves. Ruth attended and was a High School graduate of Midland, Texas. Ruth was a homemaker and a member of the Triple Cross Ranch Ministries of Jay, Okla.
Ruth was united in marriage to Jack Milford Parker on May 17, 1946. He preceded her in death in 2002. Her parents, two brothers, Carl Reeves and Robert Reeves, and one sister, Lou Annis LaSalle also preceded her in death.
Surviving family members include: two daughters, Kristy Tiroure of Arlington, Texas, and Katie Parker; two sons, Randall Parker of Wyandotte, and James Parker of Holland, Texas; two sisters, Beth Purinton of Arlington and Glenna Reeves of Houston, Texas; one brother, John Hardin of Phoenix, Ariz.; and three grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 4, at the Triple Cross Ministries Church in Jay. Pastor Dewey Stanford will officiate.

ALETA RUTH PETTIT
1912-2006
GROVE - Aleta Pettit died Thursday March 30, 2006 at her home in Grove, Okla. She was 93.
Aleta was born July 4, 1912 to Arthur W. and Annie Mae (Slothour) Hedge in Bethany, Okla. She graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City. She married John Thomas Pettit August 27, 1945 in Oklahoma City. Aleta was the first policewoman in Oklahoma City. She was also a master seamstress making clothes for many people. She moved to Grove in 2005 from Pensacola, Fla. She lived and raised her family in Norman, Okla. for over 50 years . She was preceded in death by her husband John Pettit, one son, C.J. Pettit and one granddaughter, Shari Ann Deakins.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Deakins of Grove; three grandchildren, Todd Deakins of Grove, Chad Deakins of Marietta Ga., and Kari Deakins of Pensacola; and six great grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday April 5, at the Mayes Funeral Home Chapel in Norman. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
Services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.
Memorials may be sent to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 555 E. 3rd Street, Grove, OK 74344.
