DELORES RETA PERKINS
1934-2006
GROVE – Delores Reta Perkins, 72, was born March 13, 1934 in Coffeyville, Kan., and died March 22, 2006 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Mo.
Mrs. Perkins was a graduate of Field Kindley High School in Coffeyville. She was united in marriage to James H. “Jim” “Perk” Perkins in 1976 in Jay, Okla., and he preceded her in death on February 24, 2006. She was employed as manager of the Pickwick Place in Coffeyville until her retirement.
Mrs. Perkins attended the Bible Baptist Church in Grove, Okla. She was a member of the Eastern Star, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Grove Moose Lodge and, most recently, a member of the Oklahoma Home and Community Education.
Survivors include: a son, Douglas Wayne Hitchcock of Pittsburg, Kan.; and a daughter, DeLynda Nash Smith of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three grandchildren, Jennifer Nash Payne, Randilyn Nash and Tanner Wayne Hitchcock; a great grandson, Parker Dee Payne. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Viola Loe Erne and a brother, Carlston Erne.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 24, at 10 a.m., at the Restlawn Cemetery in Coffeyville, with Pastor Gary Bishop officiating. The family will receive friends at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove on Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m.
Services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, 711 S. Main, Grove.

DOROTHY ROBERTA PRICE
1944-2006
KANSAS, Okla. – Dorothy Roberta Price, 61 year-old resident of Kansas, died March 22, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Okla. She was born April 16, 1944 in Salina, Okla., the daughter of Sylvester Green Loffer and Ollie Belle Moore Loffer. She lived most of her life in the Rose, Okla. area and moved to Kansas eight years ago. She retired from Gates Rubber Company after 23 years of employment and was a member of Flint Ridge Chapel, Flint Ridge, Okla. She married Troy C. Price on August 31, 1962, in Pryor, Okla.
Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her father, Sylvester “Sib” Loffer, and one brother, Dan Loffer.
Survivors include her husband, Troy, of the home; two sons, Kevin Price and wife Lisa of Rose and Danny Price and wife Jerrie of Decatur, Ark.; her mother, Ollie Loffer of Salina, Okla.; one sister, Judy Spurgeon and husband Tommy of Locust Grove, Okla.; six grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 25, at Kansas Christian Church in Kansas, Okla., with Bob Holden and Curt Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Kansas Cemetery. CAROL LEE WOODS
1946-2006
GROVE - Carol Lee Woods, 59, the daughter of Kenneth and Nellie Mae Park Woods was born April 26, 1946 in Tulsa, Okla. and died March 22, 2006 at her residence in Grove, Okla.
Mrs. Woods was a 32 year employee of the Tulsa World Newspaper where she served as a manager until her retirement in 2005. She was united in marriage to Donald Woods Oct. 27, 1990 in Eureka Springs, Ark.
Mrs. Woods was a member of the Hickory Grove Church. She enjoyed cooking crafts, fishing and spending time with her family. She always saw the positive, even in the worst of situations.
Survivors include: her husband Donald of the home; a son Lloyd K. Henson and his wife Susan of Owasso, Okla.; a daughter, Sonia L. Kimmons of Tulsa; a sister, Jackque McArthur and her husband Jimmie of Tulsa; three grandchildren, Jessica Lofgren, Hannah Henson and Hailey Henson; a step-son, Donald Woods Jr. of Grove; a step-mother, Pat Woods of Owasso, Okla.; step-grandmother, Loyce Price of Owasso; and her nieces, Amanda Ewing, Phylisha Fuller, Kimberly Fischer and Andrea Roberts. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Susan Cooper.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 24, at 2 p.m., at the Hickory Grove Church north of Grove, with Pastor Jim Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Hickory Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, 711 S. Main, Grove.

DAN RAY LITTLE
1936-2006
FT. SMITH, Ark. - Dan Ray Little, 70, of Fort Smith passed away Friday, March 24, 2006 in Fort Smith. He was the retired owner and operator of L&S Band Instrument Company and the co-founder of Brush Creek Boys Ranch in Jay, Okla. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, and a 32-degree Mason, member of the Scottish Rite of Tulsa, Okla. He was also a member of the Jenks Masonic Lodge and the Delta Masonic Lodge, the Arkansas Bandmasters Association, and the Oklahoma Bandmasters Association. He was a board member for the Arkansas Valley Habitat for Humanity.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, at First United Methodist Church in Fort Smith, with a 3 p.m. Masonic Graveside service at Olympus Cemetery in Grove, Okla., under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Pat, and son, Joe Little, of Fort Smith, and several nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Habitat for Humanity and the Bandmasters Association.
Pallbearers will be Jim Vaughn, Jim Rose, Scott Durrenberger, Charley Moffett, Mike Willard, and Sean Davis.
Family will visit with friends on Monday, March 27, from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith.

RUTH I. MEYER
1940-2006
INDEPENDENCE, Mo. – Ruth I. Meyer, 66, of Independence, Mo., passed away Friday, March 24, 2006, at Independence Regional Health Center.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 1, at 1 p.m., at Messiah Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Friday, March 31, at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Noland Road Chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 413247, Kansas, City, MO 64141.
Ruth was born January 22, 1940 in Herington, Kan. To Rudolph and Irene (Luker) Rindt. Ruth was an interior designer in the Independence and Kansas City areas. She also volunteered for many activities in the community. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church and secretary of Social Ministries in Independence, the Neighborhood Council and Fairmont Community Center. She loved to hike in the mountains and was very artistic and loved to work with various art forms. Ruth’s greatest joy came from her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Noel Meyer of the home; a son Jeffory Meyer and wife Suzanne of Blue Springs, Mo.; a daughter, Yvonne Thompson and husband Bret of Grove, Okla.; two sisters, Marilyn Vietze of Independence, Mo. and Jolene Bradford of Herington, Kan.; five grandchildren, Dustin Thompson, Zachary Thompson, Matthew Meyer, Luke Meyer and Lindsey Meyer.
Arrangements are under the direction of D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Noland Road Chapel, 816-252-8900.

STEVE PARR
1944-2006
PRATT, Kan. – Steve Parr, age 61, died suddenly last Thursday evening following a December illness. The only son of Ben and Helen Parr, both deceased, Steve was born on December 19, 1944 at Hardtner. His beloved grandparents, Gertrude Earnhart and Luther Parr were both long time resident of the Pratt and Medicine Lodge areas. As a youth, Steve was also cared for and much loved by Ed and Ethel Batchelder.
Steve graduated Pratt High School in 1963 and attended Pratt Junior College from 1963 to 1965. Following junior college, Steve worked at the Cessna Corporation until 1967 when he went to work as a salesman for Beech-Nut/Lifesavers. That same year, Steve married Nancy C. DeVault on October 8, 1967 and lived in Wichita until 1974. His only wife, Steve and Nancy were married for 20 years.
In 1974, Steve returned to Pratt and went into business for himself as “Steve’s Carpet Cleaning,” which he owned and operated until shortly before his death. In 1987, Steve began a second business, “Green Acres Lawn Service,” which he also operated until his death.
Steve was one of the country’s most accomplished outdoorsmen. He was highly skilled in trapping, hunting, fishing, camping, tracking, game calling, reloading and lead shot smelting. He was an expert in trap and skeet shooting and won well over 100 trophies, prizes and ribbons over the years. In addition to serving two terms as President of the Pratt Gun Club, Steve was an active member of the Pratt Elks Lodge BPOE 1451, American Legion, VFW, Ducks Unlimited, Quails Unlimited, The Nature Conservatory, the American Numismatics Society, Bass Anglers Sportsmen Society and the North American Hunting Club.
Steve was also an avid Indian artifact hunter and amateur Native American Indian historian and archaeologist. Additionally, he was a well-known coin collector. His collection included many 19th century American coins and virtually all 20th century American coins.
He is survived by two sisters, Casey Dodd of Grove, Okla., and Barbara Schulte of Russell, Ark.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, March 27, at Larrison Mortuary in Pratt with Chaplain Fred Pinkerton officiating. Burial followed at 3:30 p.m., at Highland Cemetery in Medicine Lodge, Kan.
Memorials may be made to Ducks Unlimited, Quails Unlimited, or the Nature Conservatory in care of Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Rd., Pratt KS 67124.

SYLVIA ANNE FAY WILLIS
1941-2006
VINITA - Sylvia Anne Fay Willis, 64, of Vinita, Okla., passed away on March 25, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa after an extended illness. Born on September 24, 1941 in Sayre, Penn., Sylvia was the daughter of Elwin “Cricket” Fay and Loretta Fuller-McKay Fay. Sylvia was a 1959 graduate of Athens High School.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, canning fruits and vegetables, shopping, and country western music. Sylvia loved animals, especially hummingbirds, chipmunks, and her beloved dogs. She also loved dancing.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Lee Willis, of Vinita; two daughters, Lisa Kuhns of Reading, Penn., and Tina Dalrymple and husband, Brett, of Williamsport, Penn.; stepson, James Willis, of Denton, Texas; brothers, Maurice Fay and wife, Louise, of Sayre, and Bruce Fay and wife, Sylvia, of Sayre; mother-in-law, Alleen Willis, of Houston, Texas; special friend, Doris Wagnon, of Strang, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister, Audrey Fay Macafee, and Audrey’s husband, Mac.
Services will be held at Burckhalter Funeral Home in Vinita, on Wednesday, March 29, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jim Bradford officiating. Pallbearers will be Bruce Fay, Maurice Fay, Brett Dalrymple, James Willis, Bobby Wagnon and DeWayne Wagnon. The burial will immediately follow at Talala Fairview Cemetery, Talala, Okla.
Arrangements are by the Burckhalter Funeral Home of Vinita.

PATRICIA ANN WOODS
1955-2006
JAY – Patricia Ann Woods, age 50, a resident of Colcord, Okla., passed away March 22, 2006, at the Monroe Manor in Jay, Okla.
Patricia was born July 17, 1955, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Eugene and Frances O’Neal. She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene.
Survivors include: her husband, Bobby Woods of the home; mother, Frances O’Neal of Lanagan, Mo.; brother Mike O’Neal of Lanagan; two grandsons, Reese and Lucas Woods and their mother Charity Woods of Colcord; and one nephew, Quinton Woods of Lanagan.
A memorial service will be held at Crittenden Baptist Church in Watts, Okla., near Natural Falls State Park on Wednesday, March 29, at 10 a.m. The Rev. Calvin Pathkiller will officiate the service. Burial of cremains will be held at Dickson Cemetery in Cherokee City, Ark.

BRENDA JO HORTON ENGLISH
1958-2006
TULSA – Brenda Jo Horton English, 47, passed away early Monday morning, April 10, 2006, at her residence in Tulsa, Okla. Brenda was born on September 27, 1958, in Oxford, Miss., to Dr. Ed and Mary E. (Parks) Davidson.
Brenda was a loan officer with a mortgage company in Tulsa. She attended and graduated from Stillwater High School. Brenda loved going to the movies with her girls, working out and learning to fly.
Brenda leaves as surviving: her husband, Guy English of Tulsa; daughters, Lindsay Sykes; Dixie Horton, and Sjolin English, all of Tulsa; sons, Justin English and Cody English, also of Tulsa; parents, Dr. Ed and Mary Davidson of Stillwater; sisters, Debbie Myers and husband Dr. John Myers of Vinita, Sandy Lewis of Tucson, Ariz., Gail Hurd and husband Jud of Berthoud, Colo., and Vickie Craven and husband Jim of Stillwater; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 13, at 2 p.m., at the Moore Funeral Home Eastlawn Chapel in Tulsa. Rev. Bob Johns of the First United Methodist Church in Vinita will officiate.
Arrangements are under the dir3eection of Burckhalter Funeral Home of Vinita.

SAMMIE A. HOSKINS
1925-2006
VINITA – Sammie A. Hoskins, 81, homemaker and mother of Chuck Hoskins, of Vinita, Okla., passed away early Wednesday morning, April 12, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.
Sammie was born on September 29, 1925.
Arrangements are pending and will be announced at a later date with Burckhalter Funeral Home of Vinita.
