ARTHAL LEE MITCHELL
1915-2006
JAY - Art Mitchell, 90-year old Jay, Okla., resident, departed this life on Sunday, April 9, 2006 at the Grand Lake Villa in Grove, Okla.
Art was born August 23, 1915 at Ada, Okla. to Grover Mitchell and Mae (Potter) Mitchell. Art was a pipe fitter and rancher. Art moved from Bristow, Okla. to Jay in 1982, where he made his home until his death.
Art was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys; his love of six years, Dee Hubbell; one infant son; his parents; and a sister.
Art has one living son, Arlene Mitchell; two grandchildren; a sister; a very good friend and caregiver, Angie Hamilton of Jay; and a host of friends. Art will be missed by all who knew him.
A private service was held Monday, April 10, at the Turner Funeral Chapel in Jay. Interment was in Duffield cemeteryon Tuesday, April 11.
Services were entrusted to Turner Funeral Chapel of Jay.

GENEVA DaSHELLE RAMSEY
1993-2006
VINITA – Geneva DaShelle Ramsey, of Vinita, Okla., went home to be with the Lord late Saturday evening April 8, 2006. She was 12.
Geneva was born on December 27, 1993, in Tulsa, Okla., to Robert G. and Kimberly R. (Brown) Ramsey III.
Geneva attended school in Vinita and South Coffeyville, Okla. She played basketball, loved dancing, music, being in the choir and had just made cheerleader, and was going to cheerleading camp. Geneva was always smiling and a very happy girl, making a lot of friends.
Survivors include: her parents, Kim and Robert Ramsey III of Vinita; one sister, Jordan Ramsey and three brothers, Darian Ramsey, Donovan Ramsey and Jerrad Ramsey all of Vinita; grandparents Rev. Robert Ramsey, Jr., and wife Mona of Vinita, Carl Brown and wife Deborah of South Coffeyville; great grandmother Frances Ramsey also of Vinita; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The family will gather at Burckhalter Funeral Home on Thursday evening, April 13, to receive friends and relatives from 7 to 8 p.m.
A home going celebration will be held on Friday, April 14, at 11 a.m., at the Family Praise Center with Rev. Robert Ramsey Jr., officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Darian Ramsey, Jerrad Ramsey, Micah Ramsey, Moses Ramsey, Randy Davis, Jr. and Kerry B. Daggs, Jr. Honorary bearers will be Shawn Brown and David Scott. Burial is to follow at the Ball Cemetery in Childers.
Arrangements are under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home of Vinita.

DARVEN AEMISEGGER
1929-2006
GROVE – Darven Aemisegger, 76, of Grove, Okla., formerly of Independence, Kan., passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at the Grace Living Center in Tahlequah, Okla.
Visitation hours for Darven will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 5, with the family greeting friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Webb Rodrick Chapel.
Memorial services for Darven Aemisegger will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 6, at the Penwell-Gabel Webb Rodrick Chapel. Military honors will be provided by V.F.W. Dewlin-Dix Post #1186 of Independence. Cremation will follow the service at the Penwell-Gabel Webb Rodrick mortuary. Burial will be at a later date. Casket bearers will be Robert Gray, Shawn Aemisegger, Mikel J. Aemisegger, Matthew Aemisegger, Derek Hall, James Kelly and Cody Gray.
Darven was born November 17, 1929 in Elk City, Kan., to Fred and Roberta (Newkirk) Aemisegger. He was raised and educated in Elk City. He entered the U.S. Army in 1951, serving with the 7th Cavalry, G Company in Korea. Darven received two Purple Hearts for injuries received during the Korean Conflict and also received five Bronze Stars. He was honorably discharged in 1953. On August 14, 1953, Darven married Dorothy Richardson at Memphis, Tenn. They began their married life in Elk City, Kan., where they farmed.
They later moved to Independence where he worked as a truck driver for Starcraft Boat Company and Budweiser Distributors. In 1971, he began working for Universal Atlas Cement Plant, retiring after 20 years of service. Following his retirement, they moved to Grand Lake so he could fish.
Darven is survived by his wife, Dorothy “Dottie” Aemisegger of the home in Grove; four children, Steven Aemisegger and his wife, Fran, of Independence, Stacy Kelly and her husband, Tom, of Oswego, Kan., Elizabeth Gray of Independence, and Mikel Aemisegger of Grove; two brothers, Olen Aemisegger of Sapulpa, Okla., and Noel “Shorty” Aemisegger of Elk City; two sisters, Barbara Whistler of Murrieta, Calif., and Treva Horst of Topeka, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Arlan, one daughter, Lori, and two grandchildren, Joshua Kelly and Marci Lea Gray.
The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Carson Masonic Lodge, Building Fund, Elk City, Kan. Memorials may be left with the funeral home.

MABEL C. BANDY
1916-2006
HARRISONVILLE - Mabel C. Bandy, a former Miami, Okla. resident now living in Harrisonville, Mo., died at the Crown Care Center Saturday March 18, 2006. She was 89.
Mrs. Bandy was born July 7, 1916, at Haskell, Okla. to Henry and May Shearin. She earned an Associate in Arts Degree from Bacone College, Muskogee, Okla., and a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern Oklahoma College in Tahlequah. Thereafter, she spent more than 30 years working as an educator. She began her teaching profession in a one-room school house in rural Oklahoma, and she retired in 1985 from the Grandview, Missouri Consolidated School District as an 8th grade mathematics teacher.
Mrs. Bandy had been retired in Miami for almost 20 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, and she derived great pleasure from her volunteer service at the Integris Baptist Regional Health Center.
Mrs. Bandy met her husband Weldon in high school and they were married on September 15, 1929, at Afton, Okla.
Survivors include two sons James Weldon Bandy and his wife Kyoke, Fiji Islands, and Donnie Hugh Bandy and his wife Carol of Creighton, Mo.; a daughter Bonnie Salazar and her husband Ed, Overland Park, Kan.; a sister Bonnie Neal, Grove Port, Ohio; and a Brother Leroy Shearin and his wife Wyvonne, Texas; four grandchildren James W. Bandy II, Los Angeles, Calif., Sharla Dean and husband Evan, Overland Park, Sandra Salazar, Houston, Texas and Ashely Riggs, Creighton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Weldon, brothers Henry, Jack and Paul Shearin.
Funeral Services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 24, at the First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Joe Don Olds officiating. Burial followed in the Sixkiller Cemetery, southeast of Afton under the direction of the Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home of Miami.

JIMMIE CHARLES BILBY, Sr.
1925-2006
SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – Jimmie Charles Bilby, Sr., 81 year-old resident of Siloam Springs, died April 6, 2006, at Northwest Regional Medical Center in Springdale, Ark.
Born February 18, 1925 in Oklahoma City, Okla., he was the son of George Bilby and Eura Mae Roberts Bilby. He was owner/operator of Bilby’s Foods and Bilby Real Estate and worked in home improvements. He enjoyed photography and computers. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, West Siloam Springs, Okla. On January 16, 1946, he married Kathryn Akers in Plainview, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn of the home; three sons, Charles Bilby and wife Carolyn of Siloam Springs, Leroy Bilby and wife Johnetta of Gentry, Ark., and Mike Bilby and wife Tootie of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two daughters, Georgia Bilby of Tenkiller, Okla., and Peggy Harper of Tulsa, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Monday, April 10, 2006, at Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs with Dr. A.P. Vohs officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery, Siloam Springs.

FAYE RYAN-BISHOP
1947-2006
JAY - Faye Ryan-Bishop, 58, died Friday, March 24, 2006 at SouthCrest Hospital, Tulsa, Okla.
Faye was born June 4, 1947 at Kansas, Okla. to Curley Snell and Ruby Pearl (Noe) Snell. She grew up in Kansas and graduated high school there in 1965. She attended Bacone College, Muskogee, Okla. Faye was a meat and poultry inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), working out of the Jay, Okla. office for 33 years. She retired in 2003 and enjoyed being a full-time grandma. Faye was a resident of the Kansas/Jay area all her life and was active in the Kansas High School Alumni Association. She loved being with her sisters and family and traveling with them.
Survivors include her husband, Ken of the home; four sons, James Edward Kingfisher and his girlfriend, Becky of Springdale, Ark., Rodney Lynn Kingfisher and his wife, Becky of Jay, Duwayne Bishop and his wife, Stacy of Jay and Kevin Bishop and his wife, Lisa, also of Jay; four brothers, Curtis Snell and his wife, Leetha of Rose, Okla., Douglas Snell and his wife, Clarene of Tulsa, Okla., Jerry David Snell and his wife, Cheryl of Colcord, Okla. and Dennis Snell and his wife, Debbie of Tahlequah, Okla.; three sisters, Loretta Smith of Jay, Susie Catron and her husband, Vesper of Kansas, Okla. and Phyllis Hathcoat of Tahlequah; twelve grandchildren, Brandon J., Blake E. and Austin L. Kingfisher, Christopher, Sierra, Ashton, Haleigh and Kaden Kingfisher and Stephen, Lindsey, Bailey and Gage Bishop. She was preceded in death by her parents and by one, brother, Wyley Joe Snell and one sister, Bertha Snell.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 28, at Lowery Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Lance Rogers officiating. Interment will be in Long Prairie Cemetery, west of Kansas, Okla. under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Monday, March 27, at Worley-Luginbuel Chapel in Jay.

RUTH MAXINE DARTER
1923–2006
CATOOSA, Okla. - Ruth Maxine Darter, 82, died March 27, 2006 at St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa Okla.
The former resident of Miami, Okla. was an employee of Burlington Manufacturing Company.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 31, at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami.

HOMER GENE EARP
1934-2006
JAY - Homer Gene Earp, 72, died Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at his home in Jay, Okla.
Homer was born March 12, 1934 in the Rowe Community of Delaware County, Okla. to John Haskell Earp and Golda Pearl (Quick) Earp. He was married to Sally Ann Grantin at Miami, Okla. Homer was a resident of the Jay area all of his life and had lived at the current address for 30 years. He was a construction worker and also did concrete pipe work. Homer attended Jay First Assembly of God and was a member of AARP.
Survivors include his wife, Sally of the home; two sons, Rick Earp of South Lyon, Mich. and Terry Earp of Grove, Okla.; a daughter, Lori Martin and her husband, Robert of Jay; one step-son, Tony Schommer of Neenah, Wis.; two step-daughters, Christine Olsen and her husband, Mike of Neenah and Lisa Engel and her husband, Tim of Marietta, Ga.; two sisters, Juanita Stephens and her husband, Elzie of Jay and Pam Fields of Grove; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and by one brother, Curtis Earp.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, March 31, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Chapel, Jay. Interment will be in Mt. Hermon Cemetery under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.

MARJORIE MAXINE FIXLEY
1916-2006
OKLAHOMA CITY - Marjorie Maxine Fixley, 89, died April 5, 2006 in Oklahoma City, Okla. She was born July 18, 1916 in Pleasanton, Kan., the daughter of Marvin C. and Avis Mays Lhuillier. She moved to Osawatomie, Kan. at a young age and graduated from Osawatomie High School. On January 4, 1941, she married Wayne Fixley in Olathe, Kan. Marjorie retired to Grove, Okla. in 1980 and in June 1999 moved to Brighten Gardens in Oklahoma City. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Grace Presbyterian Church, Grove. Her parents, husband and two brothers, Clayton (Monk) and Marvin J. (Bud) Lhuillier, granddaughters, Keri Jane Fixley and Amy Jill Fixley preceded her in death. Survivors include: two sons, Mike Fixley and wife Mary Lou, Pleasant View, Tenn. and Dr. Mark S. Fixley and wife Vickie, Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Gregg Fixley, Lynn DeVoe, Lori Fixley, Tyler Fixley, Andrew Barlow, Megan and Alyssa Crow; four great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Betty Lhuillier and Elaine Lhuillier. Special thanks to the entire staff of Brighton Gardens Assisted Living Center for the love and care shown to Marge. Memorial donations may be made to the Grace Presbyterian Church, Grove. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, April 7, at Smith & Kernke, 14624 N. May Avenue, Oklahoma City, with the family receiving friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home, followed by a Prayer Service at 8 p.m., Friday. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 8, at the Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home Chapel, Osawatomie, Kan. with burial to follow in the Osawatomie Cemetery.
