WAYNE HAWKINS
1926-2006
VINITA - Wayne Hawkins, 80, of Vinita, Okla., passed away early Monday morning, April 17, 2006, at Craig General Hospital in Vinita. Wayne was born on January 25, 1926 in Blue Hawk near White Oak, Okla., to Eugene and Ama (Thomas) Hawkins.
Wayne attended two country schools and then moved to Vinita and graduated in 1944. He played basketball and football. Many years later he attended NEO A&M College in Miami and Tulsa University, majoring in Accounting. He was general manager of a petroleum marketing company in Tulsa. Then he started his own accounting and tax service, and in 1967 received his real estate license.
Wayne was married to Betty Jane Hawkins for 33 years. They made their home in Grand Lake Towne, and were members of the First Christian Church in Langley. He married Reba Johnson on November 8, 1988.
Survivors include: two step-children, Eugene Johnson and Donna Banning; one sister, Helen Edwards and husband J. R. of Vinita; a nephew, Jerry Edwards and wife Kathy of Vinita; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Wayne was preceded in death by his first wife Betty Hawkins and second wife Reba (Johnson) Hawkins. Both of his parents and three brothers Orion Hawkins, Haskell Hawkins and Eddie Hawkins also preceded him.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 20, at 10 a.m., at the South Grand Lake Christian Church with Pastor Janice Hill officiating. Burial is to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Vinita.
Arrangements are under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home of Vinita.

WAYNE CLIFTON HOLT, Jr.
1954-2006
SPAVINAW - Wayne Clifton Holt, Jr., 52 year-old Spavinaw, Okla., area resident passed away Sunday April 9, 2006 at the Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Okla. He was born March 20, 1954 to Wayne Clifton Holt and Ruth Eleanor (Bays) Holt at Tulsa, Okla.
Wayne was a resident of Oklahoma all his life. He graduated from Jay High School in 1972. He attended Tulsa Junior College and excelled in the theater program there. He received awards for his performances in several theatrical productions, both in state competitions in Tulsa and regional competitions in Dallas. He served in the Navy. Wayne enjoyed the outdoors, listening to music, theater performances, drawing and dogs. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents George S. and Bess R. (Little) Bays and Lee O. and Lorena (Bean) Holt.
His mother, Ruth Holt of Pryor, and a sister, Eleanor W.H. Gay of Spavinaw, survive him.
A memorial service and gathering will be held at the Burckhalter Memorial Chapel at 3 p.m. Thursday April 20, 2006 with Dr. Lee Hilliard officiating.
Arrangements are by Burckhalter Funeral Home.

ANNA MAE McGHEE
1919-2006
JAY - Anna Mae McGhee, 87, died Sunday night, April 16, 2006 at her home near Jay.
Anna Mae McGhee was born January 12, 1919 at Hominy, Okla. to Grover Cleveland Boyles and Rachel (Welch) Boyles. She grew up in Osage County, Okla. as her family followed her father’s work in the area’s oilfields. Anna married Robert Loyd McGhee on November 20, 1935 at Claremore, Okla. Mr. McGhee preceded her in death November 16, 1996. Anna was a member of Cornerstone Church, Southwest City, Mo., and enjoyed quilting and gardening. She loved watching her flowers and her grandchildren grow. Anna was a resident of the Jay area since 1944.
Survivors include: two sons, Bobby McGhee and his wife, Barbara of Jay, and Don McGhee and his wife, Phyllis of Inola, Okla.; one daughter, Donna D. Prater and her husband, Lloyd of Jay; one brother, Earl Boyles of Broken Arrow, Okla.; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three daughters, Mary Ellen Martineau, Barbara Jean Dannels and Phyllis Ann McGhee; and by three brothers, James, Clifford and Everett Boyles.
Funeral services for Anna Mae McGhee will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 19, at Cornerstone Church, Southwest City. Interment will be in Williams Timber Hill Cemetery, Welch, Okla., under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Okla. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, April 18, at the funeral home.

MARGARET PERRY
1923-2006
GROVE - Margaret Glennette Perry, 82, died Sunday, April 16, 2006 at her home in outside of Grove.
Margaret was born April 27, 1923 at Dallas, Texas to Rufus Alvin Smith and Willie Myrtle (Tyner) Smith. She moved from Dallas to Enid, Okla., at a very young age. Margaret first married Clarence Boepple. The Boepple’s were married 19 years. Margaret was working at a beauty shop in Enid, until becoming licensed and opening her own shop in 1955. She operated Margaret’s Beauty Shop for many years. While in Enid, Margaret married Howard Zorn and the couple moved to Lubbock, Texas in 1960. The Zorn’s lived in Lubbock until 1968, when they moved to Houston, Texas. In 1971, Dallas became their home until moving to Broken Arrow, Okla. in 1973. Mr. and Mrs. Zorn moved to the King’s Point area of Grove in the early 1980s. Howard Zorn preceded his wife in death in 1998. She later married Paul Perry, who also preceded her in death. Margaret was a member of the Grove First Christian Church and continued to do hair for her friends and relatives until recently.
Survivors are: her sons, Darrell Boepple and his wife, Rhea of Lubbock, Texas and Stephen Zorn and his wife, Brenda of Tomball, Texas; two brothers, Gerald Smith of Wagoner, Okla., and Bill Smith of El Reno, Okla.; five grandchildren, Brent Boepple, Chris Zorn, Shawn Zorn and his wife, Neely, Shane Zorn and Amanda Zorn; and three great-grandchildren, Justin, Meagan and Ashlynn Zorn. She was preceded in death by her parents; by three husbands; one son, Jimmy Boepple and one sister, Allene Whaley.
Funeral services for Margaret Perry will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, at Grove First Christian Church with Dr. Wayne Shaw officiating. Interment will be in Olympus Cemetery, under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 19, from 6-8 p.m.

DARVEN AEMISEGGER
1929-2006
GROVE – Darven Aemisegger, 76, of Grove, Okla., formerly of Independence, Kan., passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at the Grace Living Center in Tahlequah, Okla.
Visitation hours for Darven will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 5, with the family greeting friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Webb Rodrick Chapel.
Memorial services for Darven Aemisegger will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 6, at the Penwell-Gabel Webb Rodrick Chapel. Military honors will be provided by V.F.W. Dewlin-Dix Post #1186 of Independence. Cremation will follow the service at the Penwell-Gabel Webb Rodrick mortuary. Burial will be at a later date. Casket bearers will be Robert Gray, Shawn Aemisegger, Mikel J. Aemisegger, Matthew Aemisegger, Derek Hall, James Kelly and Cody Gray.
Darven was born November 17, 1929 in Elk City, Kan., to Fred and Roberta (Newkirk) Aemisegger. He was raised and educated in Elk City. He entered the U.S. Army in 1951, serving with the 7th Cavalry, G Company in Korea. Darven received two Purple Hearts for injuries received during the Korean Conflict and also received five Bronze Stars. He was honorably discharged in 1953. On August 14, 1953, Darven married Dorothy Richardson at Memphis, Tenn. They began their married life in Elk City, Kan., where they farmed.
They later moved to Independence where he worked as a truck driver for Starcraft Boat Company and Budweiser Distributors. In 1971, he began working for Universal Atlas Cement Plant, retiring after 20 years of service. Following his retirement, they moved to Grand Lake so he could fish.
Darven is survived by his wife, Dorothy “Dottie” Aemisegger of the home in Grove; four children, Steven Aemisegger and his wife, Fran, of Independence, Stacy Kelly and her husband, Tom, of Oswego, Kan., Elizabeth Gray of Independence, and Mikel Aemisegger of Grove; two brothers, Olen Aemisegger of Sapulpa, Okla., and Noel “Shorty” Aemisegger of Elk City; two sisters, Barbara Whistler of Murrieta, Calif., and Treva Horst of Topeka, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Arlan, one daughter, Lori, and two grandchildren, Joshua Kelly and Marci Lea Gray.
The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Carson Masonic Lodge, Building Fund, Elk City, Kan. Memorials may be left with the funeral home.

MABEL C. BANDY
1916-2006
HARRISONVILLE - Mabel C. Bandy, a former Miami, Okla. resident now living in Harrisonville, Mo., died at the Crown Care Center Saturday March 18, 2006. She was 89.
Mrs. Bandy was born July 7, 1916, at Haskell, Okla. to Henry and May Shearin. She earned an Associate in Arts Degree from Bacone College, Muskogee, Okla., and a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern Oklahoma College in Tahlequah. Thereafter, she spent more than 30 years working as an educator. She began her teaching profession in a one-room school house in rural Oklahoma, and she retired in 1985 from the Grandview, Missouri Consolidated School District as an 8th grade mathematics teacher.
Mrs. Bandy had been retired in Miami for almost 20 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, and she derived great pleasure from her volunteer service at the Integris Baptist Regional Health Center.
Mrs. Bandy met her husband Weldon in high school and they were married on September 15, 1929, at Afton, Okla.
Survivors include two sons James Weldon Bandy and his wife Kyoke, Fiji Islands, and Donnie Hugh Bandy and his wife Carol of Creighton, Mo.; a daughter Bonnie Salazar and her husband Ed, Overland Park, Kan.; a sister Bonnie Neal, Grove Port, Ohio; and a Brother Leroy Shearin and his wife Wyvonne, Texas; four grandchildren James W. Bandy II, Los Angeles, Calif., Sharla Dean and husband Evan, Overland Park, Sandra Salazar, Houston, Texas and Ashely Riggs, Creighton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Weldon, brothers Henry, Jack and Paul Shearin.
Funeral Services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 24, at the First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Joe Don Olds officiating. Burial followed in the Sixkiller Cemetery, southeast of Afton under the direction of the Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home of Miami.

JIMMIE CHARLES BILBY, Sr.
1925-2006
SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – Jimmie Charles Bilby, Sr., 81 year-old resident of Siloam Springs, died April 6, 2006, at Northwest Regional Medical Center in Springdale, Ark.
Born February 18, 1925 in Oklahoma City, Okla., he was the son of George Bilby and Eura Mae Roberts Bilby. He was owner/operator of Bilby’s Foods and Bilby Real Estate and worked in home improvements. He enjoyed photography and computers. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, West Siloam Springs, Okla. On January 16, 1946, he married Kathryn Akers in Plainview, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn of the home; three sons, Charles Bilby and wife Carolyn of Siloam Springs, Leroy Bilby and wife Johnetta of Gentry, Ark., and Mike Bilby and wife Tootie of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two daughters, Georgia Bilby of Tenkiller, Okla., and Peggy Harper of Tulsa, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Monday, April 10, 2006, at Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs with Dr. A.P. Vohs officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery, Siloam Springs.

FAYE RYAN-BISHOP
1947-2006
JAY - Faye Ryan-Bishop, 58, died Friday, March 24, 2006 at SouthCrest Hospital, Tulsa, Okla.
Faye was born June 4, 1947 at Kansas, Okla. to Curley Snell and Ruby Pearl (Noe) Snell. She grew up in Kansas and graduated high school there in 1965. She attended Bacone College, Muskogee, Okla. Faye was a meat and poultry inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), working out of the Jay, Okla. office for 33 years. She retired in 2003 and enjoyed being a full-time grandma. Faye was a resident of the Kansas/Jay area all her life and was active in the Kansas High School Alumni Association. She loved being with her sisters and family and traveling with them.
Survivors include her husband, Ken of the home; four sons, James Edward Kingfisher and his girlfriend, Becky of Springdale, Ark., Rodney Lynn Kingfisher and his wife, Becky of Jay, Duwayne Bishop and his wife, Stacy of Jay and Kevin Bishop and his wife, Lisa, also of Jay; four brothers, Curtis Snell and his wife, Leetha of Rose, Okla., Douglas Snell and his wife, Clarene of Tulsa, Okla., Jerry David Snell and his wife, Cheryl of Colcord, Okla. and Dennis Snell and his wife, Debbie of Tahlequah, Okla.; three sisters, Loretta Smith of Jay, Susie Catron and her husband, Vesper of Kansas, Okla. and Phyllis Hathcoat of Tahlequah; twelve grandchildren, Brandon J., Blake E. and Austin L. Kingfisher, Christopher, Sierra, Ashton, Haleigh and Kaden Kingfisher and Stephen, Lindsey, Bailey and Gage Bishop. She was preceded in death by her parents and by one, brother, Wyley Joe Snell and one sister, Bertha Snell.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 28, at Lowery Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Lance Rogers officiating. Interment will be in Long Prairie Cemetery, west of Kansas, Okla. under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Monday, March 27, at Worley-Luginbuel Chapel in Jay.

RUTH MAXINE DARTER
1923–2006
CATOOSA, Okla. - Ruth Maxine Darter, 82, died March 27, 2006 at St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa Okla.
The former resident of Miami, Okla. was an employee of Burlington Manufacturing Company.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 31, at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami.
