HELEN LOUISE DONALDSON
1938-2006
GROVE, Okla. – Helen L. Donaldson, 67, died Monday, August 7, 2006 at Integris Grove General Hospital. She was born on August 11, 1938 in Picher, Okla., to Grover and Helen (Crume) Russell. Helen grew up in Joplin, Mo., graduating from Joplin High School in 1956. She attended NEO A&M, earning an Associate of Arts degree in Accounting. Helen married Bill Donaldson on November 2, 1956 in Joplin. She was a caregiver at Home of Hope Group Homes in Vinita for seven years. She was a member of Volunteers of America and had worked at Wal-Mart in Grove for many years. Helen was a member of Bible Baptist Church, enjoyed writing stories and loved people and her dogs.
Survivors include: her husband, Bill of Grove; six children, Donna Donaldson of Tulsa, Okla., Billy Donaldson, Jr. and his wife, Debra of Muskogee, Okla., Ted Donaldson and his wife Ami of San Antonio, Texas, Terry Donaldson and his wife Paula of Dallas, Texas, Jeffery Donaldson and his wife, Deborah of Tahlequah, Okla. and Deanna Holmes and her husband, Kevin of Tulsa; 14 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 9, at Bible Baptist Church in Grove with Rev. Guy Morrow officiating and Rev. Roy Prince assisting. Burial will follow at Olympus Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove. Family and friends may send online condolences by viewing obituaries at www.honoringmemories.com.
Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove.

BILLY ROBERTSON
1939-2006
JAY, Okla. - Billy Larance Robertson of Eucha, Okla. went to be with the Lord August 7, 2006 at the age of 67.
Billy was born January 4, 1939 to Willie and Lillie (Newman) Robertson at Topsy, Okla. He married Janace Hamilton January 19, 1960 at Vinita, Okla. Billy worked as a Wildlife Technician for the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation at Spavinaw Hills. He retired in 2001 after 34 years of service. He was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ in Jay. He enjoyed fishing, attending sporting events, and especially spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include: his wife, Janace Robertson of Eucha; two children, Robin Rowley of Eucha, and Wade Robertson and wife Fawna of Eucha; three sisters, Freda Kirby of Spavinaw, Okla., Nancy Robertson of Jay, and Loretta Robertson of Eucha; one brother, Kenny Robertson and wife Marlene of Jay; one aunt, Pauline Whisamore of Welch, Okla.; three grandchildren, Jacob Rowley, Samantha Robertson, and Will Robertson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday August 9, at the Southside Church of Christ at Jay. Interment will follow at the Mose Ridge Cemetery west of Jay. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home at Jay. Family and friends may send online condolences by viewing obituaries at www.honoringmemories.com.

CHARLOTTE RUTH SANDERS
1932-2006
GROVE, Okla. – Charlotte Ruth Sanders was born February 20, 1932, in Grove. The angels carried her away on August 5, 2006, at the age of 74. She was born to George W. and Ruby Ellen Baker and preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 48 years, Burl.
She was a real estate broker for 50 years in the Tulsa and Grove area before she and her husband started and operated Sanders Oil Company in Grove from 1973 to 1989. She retired in 1989 but loved talking to people so much that she started selling Avon so she could still continue to visit with people she loved. Alzheimer’s came on her after the death of her husband and then cancer took her life.
Survivors include: her son Greg Sanders and wife Kim of Grove; a daughter, Georgia Lynn Steele and husband Dennis, of Broken Arrow, Okla.; grandchildren, Patrick Shane Sanders of Eucha, Okla., Ashley Charlynn Replogle of Coweta, Okla., Dennis Lee Steele of Bixby, Okla., and Dustin Todd Steele of Owasso. She also had seven beautiful great grandchildren, and two sisters, Billie West of Broken Arrow and Mildred Bolding of Tahlequah, Okla.; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the dedicated staff of Betty Ann’s Nursing Center and Good Shepherd Hospice of Grove for their many hours of care and love to their mother. It will not be forgotten.
Services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 8, at Moore’s Southlawn Chapel with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Moore’s Southlawn Chapel.

LORETTA MARGARET BISHOP
1919–2006
JAY, Okla. - Loretta M. Bishop, 87-year old longtime area resident, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at Monroe Manor Nursing Home in Jay, following an extended illness.
Loretta was born April 3, 1919 in Grove, Okla. to Sherman and Lurena (Wickett) Stogsdill. She attended grade school in Jay and later attended high school at the Chilocco Indian School. Loretta was a homemaker and had worked many years as a caretaker for the sick and elderly in the Grove and Jay area when she was younger. She was a charter member of the Delaware Baptist Church.
Loretta was united in marriage to Otis Bishop on June 15, 1947 in Independence, Mo. She and Otis lived in Missouri, Oregon and Idaho where they lived for some 30 years before moving back to Jay in 1981. Otis preceded her in death on February 29, 2004.
Her parents and two brothers, Benjamin and William Stogsdill, also preceded her in death.
Loretta is survived by: two sisters, Billie Dixon and Wanda Bond, both of Jay; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, November 10, at the Turner Funeral Chapel, 311 W. Gray, Jay.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 11, at the Delaware Baptist Church. Rev. Gary Bishop will officiate. Interment will follow at Zena Cemetery.

BARBARA J. MEADERS
1926-2006
GROVE, Okla. - Barbara J. Meaders, Grove resident, died at Grove Nursing Center, Thursday, Oct. 9, 2006, after an illness. She was 80.
She was born at Okemah, Okla., to William and Bessie (Hamlin) Wood, on Jan. 9, 1926. She married Roland K. Meaders at Wetumka, Okla., on Nov. 4, 1942, and was a homemaker. They made their home in Wellington, Kan., where she was a member of the First Methodist Church. They moved to Grove in 1991, coming from Wellington.
She is survived by: her husband, Roland K., of the home; three sons and their wives, Mark and Valorie Meaders, of Appleton, Wis., Roland K. Jr. and Kay Meaders of Branson, Mo., and Kurt and Kim Meaders of Dallas, Texas.; a daughter and her husband, Sharon and Mark Cole of Marietta, Ga.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents, a brother, William Wood, and a sister, Frances Kemp.
The body has been cremated and a memorial service will be set for a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Adcock Funeral Home.

ROBERT DONALD CREASON
1943–2006
HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. - Robert Donald Creason, 63, of Flat Rock, N.C., passed away as a result of lung cancer Monday, November 13, 2006 at the home of his daughter, Shelley Smiley. He was born and raised in Zena, Okla. and graduated from Grove High School. He married and lived in Kellogg, Idaho for several years where he worked in a lead smelter. He later resided in Arkansas, remarried in 1986, and moved to Hendersonville. Before retiring in 2004, he worked for Ward Brothers Tractor for 18 years. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and traveling. He was one of the founders of the Rock Hound Club.
He is survived by: his loving wife of 20 years, Linda Creason of Flat Rock; four daughters, Shelley Smiley of Hendersonville; Jennifer Sill of Fletcher; Christina Ryan and Gena Creason of Arkansas; two grandsons; five granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter.
A memorial service was held at noon Sunday, November 19, in the home of his daughter, Shelley Smiley, in Hendersonville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Four Seasons Hospice & Palliative care, 571 S. Allen Rd., Flat Rock, NC 28731 or to American Cancer Society, 120 Executive Park Bldg. 1, Asheville, NC 28801.
Shuler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

ELIZABETH (BETTY) FRANKLIN
1923-2006
VINITA, Okla. - Elizabeth (Betty) Franklin of Vinita passed away Saturday night, October 21, 2006 at St Francis Hospital in Tulsa. Betty was born on October 10, 1923 in Rush Springs, Okla. to Thomas John and Mary Alice (Brogdon) Coyle.
Betty attended Central State College in Edmond and worked at the Oklahoma Ordinances Works near Chouteau for the Dupont Company. After moving to the Vinita area she met and married Bob Franklin on December 22, 1943. The couple made their home on the original George Franklin place. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vinita.
Betty was preceded in death by both of her parents, husband Bob and brothers Edward and Ray Coyle.
Survivors include: her daughters Judy and husband Marvin McBee of Hollis, Okla., and Carol Sue Pixley of Enid, Okla.; son Jay and wife Susanna of Vinita; and grandchildren Anna, Noah and Eva Franklin.
Services honoring Betty were held Wednesday October 25, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Vinita with Pastor Randy Messer officiating. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery in Vinita.
Arrangements were under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Service of Vinita.

JOE MITCHELL HOLLAWAY
1941-2006
Joe Mitchell Hollaway, 65 of Vinita passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2006. Joe was born on June 16, 1941 in Roswell, New Mexico to Bud and Lela (Mills) Hollaway.
Joe lived in Texas, Arizona and Oklahoma. He was of Baptist faith, and liked fishing, hunting, cats and could tell you about any make and model of car.
Joe leaves as surviving: two brothers Monty Hollaway of Oregon and Jack Hollaway of Arizona; one Uncle Cliff Hollaway of Nevada; cousins Bill and Barbara Wood of Vinita, Gerald and Helen Robnett of Arizona, Judy and Leon Callison of Pryor, Elizabeth and Allan Hilburn of Vinita, Susan and Ted Smethers of Arizona and Jennifer and Alec Faraji of California; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends in Cross Plains, Texas.
Preferred memorials are to be made in memory of Joe to “Lord’s Acre” at the First United Methodist Church in Cross Plains, Texas P. O. Box 160, Cross Plains, TX 76443.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at Ball Cemetery with Rev. Bob Johns of the First United Methodist Church of Vinita officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Service.

MINNIE “BILLAWON” SMITH
1924-2006
VINITA, Okla. - Minnie “Billawon” Smith, 82 former Vinita resident passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. Billawon was born on April 21, 1924 to Amos and Ida (Perry) White.
Billawon liked to go camping, fishing and traveling with her family, and the ceremonial stomp ground. She was a homemaker.
Billawon leaves as surviving: her children Jan Breshears of Chelsea, Okla., Nick Smith of Turley, Okla., Wanda Hayhurst of Tulsa, Virginia Roach of White Oak, Okla., Paula Haskins of Tulsa; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Graveside services were held on Monday, October 30, at the Lewis Shawnee Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home.
